Happily paid an upgrade for premium King full beach view w/ balcony… BUT HOLD THE PHONE. We couldn’t fit two teeny chairs on the one fully OPEN front balcony if you wanted to unless you did some cuckoo, over-the-railing gymnastics maneuver & then sat practically on top of one other with your legs entangled. It was so bad that we LAUGHED… until we marinated on it some more & became legitimately peeved. Thank heavens we were out & about for much of our stay because the TV didn’t even operate properly. Absurd. We didn’t even bother to request help at that point, because we really didn’t want maintenance/tech staff traipsing through our room since we had such a brief getaway as it was. To add to the fun, we couldn’t get Verizon reception on our phones in the room, even after connecting to the hotel using their WiFi password. We could barely, if at all, load online maps of local areas of interest, unless you had an hour to let it load. We’re truly baffled by this hotel. The final pièce de résistance was a lack of proper, REASONABLY accessible coffee service for guests. A 5:30am-8:30am coffee service is so clearly only for the business clientele jumping on early flights. For heaven’s sake, how embarrassingly cheap could a SB hotel be, especially one that thinks it would like to compete with the “big girl” hotels on the waterfront. We reside in SLO county & have a myriad of friends & connections who supply SB hotels with much-needed business during their off-season. What a shame.

Meh - staff was a bit unfriendly, our room overlooked the dumpsters - when I commented on it in response to the feedback solicited by the hotel, the response she was rather snotty. Wouldn’t stay here again considering the price.

Prior to our arrival the hotel text me to let me know they were expecting us and to let them know if we need anything at arrival.

Our room was beautiful, spacious and very clean. The property is across the street from the beach and easy to get to and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Our experience was wonderful and we will definitely be staying there again on our next visit to Santa Barbara.

This is a real hotel, with all services one expects from a hotel. It is not one of the many motel/hotels one finds along the beach. Rooms are large and comfortable, and the entire property is in first class condition.
Be sure to try the restaurant-great dining.

Great location off of East Beach, yet a 5 minute ride to downtown, under 10 minutes to Montecito. Beautiful hotel, amazing public spaces, and Convivo is a great restaurant especially first thing in the morning, although lunch, happy hour and dinner ate excellent as well.
The staff are friendly, professional, and they went out of yheir way to ensure my stay was the best. (Thank you Ruth and Jacob). My room was perfect for my week stay, partial view of the beach, spacious with a balcony with a seating atea. The room was nicely furnished and the ensuite bath waz large with a double vanity and both soaking tub and walk-in shower. Toiletries provided were good quality and much appreciated as were the robe and slippers.

The pool area is medium size, and mostly emplty, good fitness center, and I appreciated thw business center. The front lobby is comfortable with a fireplace, and jn the evenings just off the libby is a patio with seating around a large gas fire pit - perfect for this time of year. ;B-Cycle rental bikes hsve 4 locations within walking distance, that was a big plus.

In all, I had a great visit and will definitely be back.

I liked that it's accessible to the beach across the street. It was a better experience than when I reserved at another hotel a year ago. It has a very Asian/Greek/morrocan/tropical influence, which is a bit confusing because when you look at the hotel - its Spanish architecture. It would be nice if it still catered to a Spanish decor with a few modern touches.

We checked into the standard room and the room was beautiful but not the view we wanted since we were facing the parking lot. We upgraded to the beachfront view and it was so worth it. The staff was accommodating and made it happen. The view was incredible.

A bit dusty in the foyer, but overall quite nice looking amd clean. My issue is the parking. Its just a normal street corner hotel with its own parking bays, one per room, however they scam you into having to use valet for $43 so they can park your car 15 steps away, if you dont pay then you must find street parking. Absolute scam.

The ocean view was unobstructive, room and overall decor was delightful Room, bath and terrace were spacious. Very comfortable for two people. Mostly clean, a few specs on the bathroom floor the vacuum didn't catch. staff excellent in all areas. A few things were off, or it would have been an exceptional stay. I had asked for a room near the elevator and while I was told it could not be guaranteed, my room was the one the farthest from the elevator down two long hallways. Having an ocean view made up somewhat for it despite the pain in my knee from walking. While the room service breakfast was quickly served and delicious, they used paper take away cups for coffee and cheap plastic take away containers for butter, jam and cream. These thoughtless moves could bring the hotel from an excellent to a good rateing by a professional reviewer. Sad.

We are driving down the Pacific Coast Highway from Eastern Washington - 2,000 miles thus far - and of all the hotels we have stayed in along the way … this has been by far the nicest. Room is incredible - very comfortable with lots of space, views of the ocean, friendly/helpful staff etc.

ONLY complaint is no body wash in shower - could use more soap & tissues in bathroom

Not much to the actual hotel nowhere really to walk around but room was excellent with lovely view of the Pacific from our ground floor balcony. Great food in their own restaurant. Parking is expensive and quite a long way out from town centre would expect this to be free of charge.

We had such a wonderful experience at the Santa Barbara Inn! One of the things we loved most was the personal touch—they texted us before our arrival and throughout our stay to make sure everything was perfect. The service felt so thoughtful and attentive. The location couldn’t be better—it’s just steps from the beach, and the beach-view suites are absolutely gorgeous. Waking up to that view made our trip extra special. We can’t wait to come back!

Second stay in this hotel. First time in a sea view, this time in a standard room (round the back overlooking the car park but with a surprisingly good view of the mountains beyond). Rooms spotless and the hotel has a classy feel. Location good (safe and just across the road to the beach) though be aware that the sea view has road and palm trees in the way. Valet parking efficient though on street parking available round the back. The restaurant has a great location and feel outside though the menu had taken a dive since our previous visit and service was annoyingly forceful at trying to push the most expensive possible option at every opportunity. Upscale hotel options are limited in Santa Barbara and I do feel that to a certain extent the Santa Barbara Inn rests on its laurels. By way of example if you want to sit on the beach there’s an independent beach club just down the road. For what the hotel costs and its beach front location a hotel owned option straight across the road would be great. Overall, about as good as it get’s in Santa Barbara. Expect spotless rooms, very good service (except in the restaurant) but don’t expect surprising little extras.

This is a beautiful property. The room was beautifully furnished, and the bathroom was spectacular. Dinner, which was room service, was very good and delivered in 15-20 minutes. But our third floor ocean view room did not have what I would consider an ocean view. The view of the ocean was basically blocked by palm tree branches, and looking at the hotel from the outside, many of the third floor rooms would have the same issue. The room below ours would have had a clear, unobstructed view of the ocean. Also, the outdoor pool and hot tub area is directly adjacent to the outdoor seating area of the restaurant, which is enclosed by a short stone wall topped by glass. Anyone in the outdoor seating area of the restaurant has a clear view of the pool area, which (personally) made me feel uncomfortable.

Everything about this hotel was great. except.......we paid a lot of money for the top floor suite...probably 3 times the $$$ compared to a regular room. It was a special visit for our anniversary and a birthday weekend. The suite was awesome with great views, but not anywhere near worth what they charged. One other thing. If you are staying here and paying this amount of $$$$ and sitting by the pool, there should be staff to serve you out there. You have to get out of the pool, make a phone call to the restaurant (which is a 3' wall away from the pool) and wait for a waitress to bring your drink, with a bill. Every drink was via this process. Really? ever heard of an open tab? anyway, it was no worth the $$$. we will go elsewhere if ever in SB again.

The property was nice. The restaurant had inside and outside dining options but closed at 10 and bar also closed at that time. I don't know if I would stay again as my room over looked a neighborhood and not the beach. That costs much more.

They should have electric bikes to rent. I received a text stating they were my assistant for the time I was there, but not onsite. When asking about renting bikes, I was referred to the Hilton down the street. No one was ever onsite as the concierge desk, which I feel was wrong. Someone should be onsite.

The valet parking gave me some bottled water; the hotel did not. They had a cooler by the ice machine which you could fill your water bottle, but it never filled it completely.
After 10 pm, there is not snacks, drinks, etc. They had a few drinks by the desk and only cookies. You need a vending machine or some snacks. I was told I could walk 2 blocks to a gas station or a convenience store. Others were looking for snacks, too.
