Staff at Mammaloe’s was outstanding helpful in every way. Cabins are rustic , quaint, and comfortable. It is about 10 to 15 minutes from downtown and about 6 minute drive to the beach——- helpful to have a car. We loved being there.

We stayed at the property for 5 nights

Pros:
-welcoming host. She helped us with information about the island and various requests
- cool vibe, nice property
- located near Mangel Halto and arikok national park. Short drive to San Nicolas
- excellent breakfast

Cons:
- felt like a boarding school. Signs telling us what not to do, even on our breakfast basket. Interestingly, no sign with the cost of breakfast.
- Although stated in the reservation, I have not stayed in a B&B where breakfast was not included. Isn’t that the definition of B&B?
- we were not allowed to keep our bags at the check in when we arrived early. Instead we went to the beach and risked our car being broken into.
- I had the worst sleep scores in over a month due to sleeping on a hard bed with awful pillows.
- Never been in an accommodation where I had to pay for air conditioning. I have travelled to 61 countries.

Let’s start with the highlights. The staff on ground were superb, friendly, patient, welcoming, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Solidified feeling safe there.
The check in process was seamless. I received a message prior to landing with the process super easy.
The pictures are pretty good depictions of the sight. The location is great if you have a rental car but it’s away from the main routes.
However, the big concerns were the hidden fees, I was not a fan of them. There was a $75 fee that was cash only. Also there were signs in the room for charging extra for towels and using the air conditioner during the day.

The room was way smaller then the pictures show its hot their and they don’t want you to turn on the ac until after 7pm and turn off by 9am or else they will charge you a 10$ a day fee. Don’t book here! I was bitten up by bed bugs they claim I got bit by laying on the beach and at no time did I lay on the beach. No I got bitten up while laying in their bed!

A very unique experience. It met my expectations. Owner was very accommodating. Need a car, but then everything is very close. Nice pool, nice private outside areas as well as common areas. Extremely affordable. Keep in mind , I stayed in the Gypsy wagon Queenie for 2 weeks, it’s small but it has what you need. They also have an outdoor kitchen area where we occasionally cooked our own breakfast. Owner gave us a dozen eggs . I look forward to going back again

Overall a truly great and unique experience!! We are animal people so seeing the turtles and the pets on site made us very happy. Only suggestion would be to have travel guide/policys printed out in rooms and/or posted on website as we were often confused on that!

Our host was EXCELLENT! friendly, kind, and super responsive, even off-hours. The property is very off the beaten path, so a car is a must, but the gated parking was a big plus. The Gypsy wagon/room was adorable.

That said, a few things made the stay less than ideal. The power went out twice (island-wide, not the property’s fault), but both times were overnight and made it hard to sleep when the room got hot. The AC rules were also tough—only allowed from 7pm–9am or you’re charged $10 each time. I get being eco-friendly, but after a full day in Aruba’s sun, waiting until 7pm to cool off is rough. Suggestion: keep the fee but only charge if AC is abused. Towels come with a $25 replacement fee if stained, and no beach towels are provided, so bring or buy your own. Shower water never got hot, but it was refreshing after the sun. The bed was rock-hard, pillows limp, and the kitchen coffee setup lacked regular coffee and accessible milk.

Other oddities: one night a stranger knocked asking for “the man who lives here,” another night a, what I could only assume was a drunk person, at the neighboring house, was heard screaming and then singing after a blackout, and once someone even walked into our room (my fault for forgetting to lock the door, but still unsettling). The barking dogs out front didn’t help either.

Would I stay again? No. But for solo travelers or those who like quirky, shared-style stays and don’t mind a 20-minute drive to beaches, it could be a unique experience.

A Great Spot!

This is a great spot if you like a thoughful, fun space. My experience was fantastic. Everyone is so friendly it almost feels like staying with a friend. The location is great for seeing the island (rent a car). The space itself was very groovy and had an awesome island vibe. The outdoor kitchen and hang out space really make you feel like you are in the space.

Enjoyable, comfortable and great location

Mammaloes is a creative and beautiful space with everything you could need, plus the owner is very welcoming and accommodating. You will need a car, and its best you just rent one from the airport. The A/C can only be used from 7pm-8am unless you want to pay a fee. My room was not the one I booked, which was a little upsetting because it was very moody/dark and it looked out on the parking lot, but it was comfortable and had what I needed and I decided not to switch rooms despite being offered that option mid-stay. This place is in an awesome location, its great value, and breakfast was a nice touch. Value add was being able to use a beach chair and snorkle gear one day. 10/10 recommend!

Loved Our Stay at Mammaloes B&B!

This place is full of charm and warmth. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and we loved having a little patio to enjoy breakfast. The whole property feels peaceful and full of character, with thoughtful details everywhere. The hosts were kind and gave great tips for exploring the area. We honestly didn’t want to leave and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We LOVED our stay at Mammaloes! It felt authentic and was simply delightful. We loved the location near the donkey sanctuary (one of my favorite spots) and Willeke was so helpful and considerate, helping us quickly secure a car (we had forgotten) and super attentive to anything we asked for. Olga was amazing. The instructions were clear and breakfast was very convenient. We stayed in two of the villas which allowed for 5 people to sleep comfortably. She had great recommendations for beaches and restaurants. The pool was relaxing and clean. The outdoor kitchen and refrigerators were helpful. I would stay here again. Met other travelers from around the world while we stayed. The gated property added a level of safety for parking I was not expecting.

Mammaloes was a quiet, friendly and unique experience that I won’t soon forget.
The outdoor shared kitchen makes for a great way to meet people from all over the world.
The space was visually pleasing with a beautiful pool featuring gorgeous artwork, perfect for great photo backdrops!
It’s best to rent a car when choosing this location as it is tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the City providing a more authentic/local experience. Perfect for couples or single travellers alike.
The Host had great communication and was knowledgeable on all the secret local spots! She has everything you need to enjoy the island.
If you’re looking for basic hotel vibes, unlimited AC, and boring pastel walls, this isn’t the spot for you. BUT if you’re open, you may find yourself a home away from home at Mammaloes!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming boutique hotel, and it exceeded all my expectations. If you’re looking for a place that offers great service, reasonable prices, and a welcoming, home-like atmosphere, this is it.

The hotel is small and cozy, with a lovely pool and beautifully designed common areas for dining and relaxing. These spaces are perfect for socializing with fellow travelers, which added a warm and communal feel to my stay. The shared kitchen was a huge plus - ideal for anyone who enjoys cooking their own meals.

Although it’s a bit away from the beaches, ample parking makes it easy if you have a car. Nearby attractions like Arikok National Park and the Donkey Sanctuary are relatively close, making it a great base for exploring the area. For those without a vehicle, the owner - a truly kind and generous lady- went above and beyond, even driving me to the national park herself.

As someone who loves the island of Aruba I was looking for different places to stay to learn more about the island. When I came upon this property I was in complete shock! My favorite color is purple and to see that they had a purple gypsy wagon I knew this was the place for me! It made me forget that I was on the island of Aruba it takes you to a place of peace and tranquility. Planes do fly overhead since it is not far from the airport but after awhile it fades away. This is truly a great spot if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the resort area.

Get ready to pay for AC. Yes, air conditioner. $50 btw. I was greeted with an email stating a payment of $25, in cash, was expected upon arrival as a \"resort fee\". It's not a resort. Along with a page full of rules - which basically, if you don't follow, you'll be charged a fee. For example, if you stain one of the two towels provided.. it's a $25 fee per towel. It didn't feel welcoming at all, everything was a fee. Not even complementary water.. Felt like I was being watched the entire time. Oh, and how could I forget the gigantic cockroach walking around the room... Been to Aruba four times- first time I experienced something like this.

We absolutely adored our stay at Mammaloes. We booked a week in Queenie and loved having a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown and popular tourist attractions. The property is beautiful - colorful, bright and unique. We especially enjoyed the cactus garden and pool that we often had completely to ourselves. The real star of the property is the manager. Kind, generous, and informative. On the first full day on the island she gave us a thorough rundown of the island that gave us a huge leg up on knowing where to go and how to spend our time. If you’re looking for a calm, unique stay in a bohemian paradise… look no further.

Our recent visit to Mammaloes in Aruba was fantastic & I want to share the good vibes with everyone!

Right from the start the place looked great & was easy to find. The staff's hospitality shone through even before our arrival, as they provided us with clear directions & promptly addressed any questions we had, setting a positive tone for our entire experience.

The overall vibe of the area exuded a reassuring sense of safety, allowing us to fully unwind & savor our time at this hidden gem. The unique choice of accommodation, a cozy gypsy wagon, added a whimsical touch to our stay, making it stand out from the typical high rise hotels.

The various sitting areas scattered throughout the property were cozy, creating inviting spots to relax. The pool area became our go-to spot for unwinding after a day of exploring Aruba's beauty.

While my overall experience was overwhelmingly positive, I would like to offer a constructive suggestion for improvement. Some of the decking around the pool seemed a bit worn, with a few loose boards. Updating this area would not only enhance safety but also contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal. Additionally, a few more cushions for the pool chairs would be a welcome addition, making the sitting areas even more comfortable and inviting.

Overall, I'm very happy I chose Mammaloes to spend a week with, & I can't wait to go back! Thank you again for your kind hospitality & for all the hard work you do to maintain your beautiful location.

My 26 year old daughter and I cannot speak highly enough about our stay at Mammaloes! We wanted a mother/daughter time away from the crowds and we couldn't be happier than having chosen Mammaloes.
First- it was indeed incredibly peaceful and quiet. We felt as if we were in our own little home in the hills. Larissa takes care of EVERY detail-- from car rentals to quiet beach recommendations-- to attending to our every need in terms of day to day care. The place is quiet and peaceful and completely safe. SO comfortable too. I had been worried about there not being hot water-- but it turns out the shower was one of my most favorite things-- tepid water, refreshing after the days' outings. Larissa's breakfast are repeatedly excellent and plentiful and she recommended Baby Beach in the south which turned out to be stunningly beautiful. We can't say enough about our stay here-- thank you Larissa! You made our stay so easy and memorable!

Beautiful location: fruit trees, local flora, hummingbirds flying around, and utter quiet. Close to Arikok Park, Baby Beach, and other nature locations (with a car or ATV).

Breakfast was affordable, large portions, and tasted good. Overall, would visit again.

Advice for guests: keep windows closed to avoid bug bites.

Cons: rusty metal decorations need to be replaced inside and outside the cabins. Owners and hospitality staff were Dutch, and they weren't very knowledgeable about the island; only Arubans were cleaning and landscaping staff.

The property is beautiful and clean, but is not a meditation and yoga retreat. I spoke with the owner many times, and explained that I want a yoga and meditation retreat, she had 1 day of retreat that was horrible and I was overcharged for it, the hiking was to a horrible place where I was bitten by mosquitoes, we talked all day, then we had a 10 minutes massage, the yoga was actually a stretch, with a dog and airplane noise. It was horrible! I can’t believe that she charged so much for a horrible service. My friend could not even finished the day, it was a waste of money and time. I felt taken advantage of.

Too far for restaurants shops, businesses and beaches..

The owner need to let people know or put on her description of property about how far everything is from apartment and you NEED TO HAVE A CAR.
IT WAS ALL FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. THE WORSE VACATION I EVER HAD.
