We received a warm greeting, some delicious, cocktails, and given a quick tour of the property and some history of Aruba.

The room was neglected and there was no staff. No where to even have a bite. No amenities available. The “hotel “ looked like a converted house that was made to look like an art gallery. The stay was so bad that we left the island in 24hrs after arriving. The location of the hotel felt like I was in a bad horror movie, beside the car club in front of the facility blaring music all nite. This was my 1 st and last trip to Aruba, this place left a bad taste in my mouth. The room looked like it was under construction and not too tidy. 5 stars was far fetched . Never again.

This hotel was gross.

Our sheets were stained with things I don’t even want to think about. The throw blanket we received was far from the “premium bedding” advertised.

The entire hotel smelt horrible with essential oil diffusers everywhere covering up what I believe was water damage.

There were cracks and damage on every wall, chipped paint, and even exposed electrical wires in the closet.

The shower had no hot water—if you wanted hot water there was a hose sticking out of the bathtub.

No kitchenette as advertised (least of my concerns)

If you like privacy don’t go here. There’s a small lock on the door with no deadbolt and you can hear everything going on outside which means they can hear you in your room.

I am not a high maintenance person at all. The place looked very nice online but it looked nothing like the pictures. They are clearly photoshopped if you look at the cracks in the wall vs the pictures.

We stayed one night in the azure romantic room after booking 7 nights and we had to leave. We were only issued a partial refund after almost 2 hours on the phone with Expedia.

The place has a lot of potential and the staff is very friendly. I had one of the best drinks I’ve ever had from their bar. However, they are in need of serious renovation, gutting the walls, and an investment in new sheets/comforters.

Fernando & Ian were amazing hosts. We really enjoyed them & their company. It's a very unique Hotel full of art & stories. Our bungalow however I found to be gloomy. The kitchen had no sponge and very watered down dish detergent. 1 plate & bowl with no paper towels or napkins. The bathroom was extremely dated with 1 tiny round mirror and really bad lighting also the sink was clogged so we had to brush our teeth and wash our faces in the kitchen. Good water pressure in the shower though. If this bungalow didn't lead to the most magical garden I would have switched properties. It's beautiful & at night if you can imagine it was even more magical!! That along with Fernando & Ian was this propertys saving grace for us. If your looking for something different this may be the stay for you.

This was absolutely a beautiful experience. You will find art everywhere you look in the hotel. From the entire outside to everything inside. Art is beautiful and is everywhere. If you want a true Aruba experience and not stay at the same ol type of place then House of Mosiac is the place for you. The owner Fernando is so welcoming and loving and truly cares about his hotel. And the bartender Ian is also an amazing person. Between the both of them i wanted for nothing. I truly recomend staying here. It's where I'll be when I return.

I enjoyed my stay at Mosaic. There was a minor issue in the early part of my trip but it was rectified and all was well. I stayed in the Narnia room, which gave me more than enough space. The drinks at the bar are unique and tasty. also want to call out the AC, kept my room nice and cold throughout my stay. Fernando and Ian are really cool people. I especially enjoyed celebrating my birthday with them and an amazing group of people. My sister also worked with Freya (amazing concierge) to arrange a personal birthday surprise. Overall a great find, and I plan to come back, highly recommended.

Tips:

Transportation: Rent a car at the airport, you'll need this to explore Aruba independently.. plus taxis add up. I made the mistake of renting after the fact and I feel like the price was nearly double.

Food: While the hotel provides food it requires a 24hr request in advance. I ate out everyday, exploring different places based on local recommendations, other travelers and Google. Recommendations: Dutch PancakeHouse, Perfert Shot Cafe, Wendy's (good last resort), Hanasaki Sushi Bar, L.G Smith's Steak & Chop House, Old Cunucu House, I didn't try but heard Zeerover is worth a visit.

Cost-- Aruba is expensive. Expect to pay more than what seems fair. Bring cash, you pay less since fees are not added like w/ credit.

Health-- If you don't know, the sun is no joke in Aruba, bring plenty of sunscreen, reapply frequently, especially at the beach and apply sun aftercare (e.g. Aloe).

Perfect hotel for an amazing Aruba vacation!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the House of Mosaic! We've never had a better or more responsive host than Fernando and everything was perfect. He went above and beyond so many times and has thought of everything to make your stay at the hotel and in Aruba as wonderful as possible. We had to both work during our trip and the beautiful courtyard and great connectivity made it really enjoyable. You're missing out by not staying here.

this is not a bright sunny space, but if you like something more eclectic - it may work for you. cable tv & internet was spotty, and it could benefit from some fresh air, but it was within walking distance to downtown, a couple of beaches and close to the parade. the host Fernando was also very nice

It’s not like a resort with resort amenities but if you can do without lots of people and kids and a pool, it’s a fantastic place to stay. Enchanting, magical, unique are perfect words to describe this house. Fernando the host was welcoming and treated us like queens. The garden seating area was my daily evening retreat after a fun packed day in Aruba. If your looking to unplug from the commercialized scenes of resorts this is the place !! Our rooms were clean and beds were incredibly comfy. Rent a car because this gives you more flexibility to explore and move about the island. He provides you with beach chairs that you can pack with ice for drinks etc. we well definitely be back! The property offers multiple different and uniquely decorated rooms. So invite friends or family to tag along an make some incredible memories. Thank you again Fernando for offering this piece of paradise for others to experience. ❤️

This is the place that you MUST stay for a true Aruban experience! Fernando, the host, greeted us with a smile when we arrived to show us around his impressive property. He recommended all the best activities, beaches, and restaurants. We were able to walk into town and he recommended a taxi service to take us anywhere else we wanted to go.
We rented a moped for two days from George’s (very walkable from House of Mosaic, but a motorcycle license is required). The first day we went north all the way to the lighthouse and the second day we went south all the way to Baby Beach.
House of Mosaic is perfectly located right in the middle of everything but tucked away enough to be very peaceful. The room was absolutely gorgeous and meticulously cleaned. Fernando will help you curate just the right experience for you based on your interests and knows all the right people to make it happen! My Dutchie husband (who now lives with me in the USA) was excited to get all of the snacks that reminded him of home. Fernando knew all the best places!
We really can’t say enough wonderful things about Fernando and House of Mosaic. We are already planning our next trip…

This hotel was the worst place we have ever stay, musty smell, house in poor condition, wet sheets, old and stained towels. Saturday night from 9:00pm to 4:00 am a party, many local people invited, a lot of noise, women screaming and broken glass, we fear for our safety in an unfamiliar place, next day glass on the floor we almost cut ourselves, terrible experience.

Host Fernando was very gratious. His home is a large expansive eclectically decorated space. There are multiple rooms all decorated differently. He has a very large back yard oasis that we enjoyed relaxing in before and after going out. We had a ref in our room for drinks. Fernando had a new years eve party for some friends (started at midnight) and we were invited. He gave us champaigne and food. He lit off an enormous string of fireworks. The home is located east of downtown close to druif beach. The area was a former industrial area so not much tourist shopping near by. You can walk 10 minutes into the downtown where there are many places to buy items, eat, and drink. We rented bikes and rode up to the eagle beach, palm beach and california lighthouse. That was a full days activity.
