I had the room connect and both smelled of mildew. I think there may be a pipe issue as well but site overall was ok. The check in staff however was outstanding and honestly would book again because of the front desk staff anything we needed or address happened before I could hang up the phone. Excellent customer service

Great neighborhood, lovely clean rooms. Nice pool deck and bar. Very nice hotel common areas are starting to look a bit weathered but the rooms were very updated and nice. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

Our experience unfortunately did not match the positive reports we had read. Prior to arrival, I emailed to ask about early check-in, knowing it might not be possible. After a 12-hour overnight flight, we arrived at 13:00 and were repeatedly told to return in increments of 30–60 minutes, each time after housekeeping was contacted. At no point were we offered alternatives or guidance on how to spend the time, such as using the pool or exploring nearby areas. As first-time visitors to Bangkok, this lack of direction left us sitting in the bar until the official check-in time.

We booked a pool-view room expecting balcony/terrace access, as shown in the photos, but the doors were locked with a sign stating “Do not open.” This made the upgrade pointless. Because we were never informed about the pool facilities or how to access them, we missed out on that experience entirely.

Overall, the main issue was not the inability to check in early, but the poor communication and lack of hospitality. Clear information and proactive service would have made a significant difference.

Room was clean and spacious. Location is ideal for access to key sights and transportation.
Breakfast buffet had a great variety but was the same for the period of time we stayed. Every day had the same variety.
On booking, it was noted that there is a free shuttle from the airport and back-but when we asked about availability, we were told that they didn’t have it. Must be a ‘miscommunication’😒

I have stayed in most of the hotels on Soi 11 simply to find the one that held the most value for the price and everything in between.

For me, Solitaire wins. Rooms are clean, staff is nice (like most thai's are) and the location can't be beat.

The only thing I will say is the breakfast buffet can use some work. The juices were watered down since last year when I was here and it just seemed they were trying to save money. The best thing is the omelet and noodle bar. Everything else is just good.

The stay at this hotel was very disappointing. From the outset it was not a good experience. The main reception area of the hotel is very nice and we were greeted by friendly staff. However, following the check-in, we were ushered along a maze of corridors and out of the back door of the hotel, we then had to cross a road and go into a completely separate building. The hotel referred to this as the ruby wing. This building has no amenities, all of the facilities are in the main hotel building therefore when you need to use the restaurant, the pool, or the bar you have to go out of the ruby wing cross the road go through the back door of the hotel. The corridors within the other building are accessed through a steel fire door which had push handles on one side. From the lift to the rooms it didn’t feel like a hotel. The room itself was clean however there are signs of wear and tear and I have never seen so much mastic on the joints in the bathroom which has been poorly applied. The room a balcony to the room however the door was permanently screwed shut and therefore the balcony could not be used. We reported an issue with the shower which was constantly cycling between freezing cold and burning hot. The hotel said that they would get the engineer to look at it, but nothing changed. This was a VIP access hotel so we asked for a better room in the main building but were informed they could not. I will definitely not be coming back to this hotel on my next trip to Bangkok.

Room is nice, in the ad it showed a beautiful city view, which did not exist. The view out of that beautiful curved windows was the back of someone’s building. The breakfast always delicious. I wish they wouldn’t allow the Indian people to walk around in the dining room barefooted, to me disrespectful and dirty.

Staff is exceptionally nice. Hotel operations are great too. The bed was massive, like a California King, and was super comfortable, loved it.

There were a few annoyances though. The gym is very, very average & they have a steam room (not a sauna) that didn’t work.

The room itself was 3.5/5 clean when I first came in. This is definitely a popular hotel, but nonetheless a hotel room shouldn’t appear “used” once you first walk in. I did find a hair on the sheets as soon as I came in.

The area is the Asok neighborhood by Street 11, and honestly that’s the worst part. A lot of degeneracy around there/that street, and the street itself is extremely dirty, although the hotel itself was clean.

If you’re looking to party, eat, drink, and hire “friends” then the area is definitely your vibe - and nothing wrong with that, it’s one of many aspects to this city. I will say, the location is CLOSE to a lot of other nicer areas where you can do other things that Bangkok has to offer.

All in all, I did enjoy my time here, it was good but not great, but the staff & the hotel itself were top notch.
