The resort is magnificent in every aspect but the location is far from touristic and historical sites, however, the hotel offers a shuttle bus to Veleta which is very convenient. It’s perfect for people who want to rest in a resort with its own amenities. We prefer to be close to restaurants and shops and found it a bit secluded.

We have stayed before and the standards are excellent in all areas. Breakfast has so much choice. The choice of food around the pool was exceljent too. Will definately stay again.

The hotel was in a residential area and the shuttle service was not regular and also stops at 12.30. we had booked a tour on one of the days and realised no cold or hot water when we woke up. Had to use the guest toilet and go to the tour without having a shower as the tour was at 8.30am. they had some excuse that the whole block was affected. not very happy.

Nice hotel apart from the loud noises coming through the ceiling as another guest walked / stomped around their room. We suspect it is an issue of construction and lack of sound insulation but the hotel could not sort it out.

Nice place to stay.

As a solo traveler from the UK to Malta from 19Feb to 24Feb, Urban Valley is recommended.

The reception staff are very friendly and gave advice on how to move around the city.

My favorite feature was I the free shuttle bus to and from Sliema, Valletta and a bay (at selected times) which guest would need to book ahead of time with the reception due to limited capacity on the bus (8).

There is a tennis court, a play centre for kids and a car park.

My booking included a buffet breakfast from 7am to 10.30 am. Guest can indicate special dietary requirements. There are 2 clean swimming pools (unmanned/no lifeguard) and a fitness centre with a spa.

Guest must pay €0.50 for each day in the hotel subject to a maximum of €5.

The room was clean with complimentary bottle of water but a bit stuffy/musty due to humid weather. May I suggest that House keeping kindly air the room by opening balcony doors prior to guest arrival.

Also, reception should inform guest that welcome letter and general information are accessed by scanning the QR codes on the key card pack and not assume a tired, traveling guest would already know. This would save them unnecessary phone calls to reception by guest needing assistance.

As always, this review is subjective and depends on what you are looking for. As a family of 5 with teens and young children this turned out to meet all our needs. We had a two bedroom family suite which was very spacious and had a fridge freezer, hob, oven and dishwasher. We were 10-15 min walk from the local shops which included Lidl. The hotel provided a free shuttle to Sliema or Valletta which was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

The Property is very nice, Staff are very polite but the food in the restaurant is terrible, the breakfast selection is not up to standard for a 4 star hotel. Diner option as well is not great, the fish option should be removed as it is tasteless and not cooked properly, if the food can be sorted out then it would be great. The half board option doesn’t include any soft drinks not even water which is a bit strange. Otherwise the hotel is good. I had to intentionally miss the breakfast after 2 days and started eating out for dinner once my vouchers expired.

The reception staff and maintenance staff were all friendly and rectified the issues I had very quickly. So thank you for that.

There's a noise problem in this hotel due to sound proofing issues.

There are scheduled complimentary shuttle buses from the hotel to Valletta daily which was convenient, as from the Valletta bus terminal, I could easily travel to other parts of Malta and the public transport is cheap. A big shout out to the shuttle bus driver who came on time daily and he was very considerate. A great asset to the hotel.

Even though the hotel is not located in Valletta, because of the shuttle bus, it didn't feel inconvenient. And the bus stop to the airport is only about 10 minutes walk.

I loved my stay here at Urban Valley! It was so clean and modern and always well kept. The staff were so lovely and catered to your every needs. They had two big pools which was a bonus. And the breakfast was delicious!! All the main city centres were merely about 20-30 min drives away or less. Would definitely recommend when staying in Malta.

As the hotel restuarant does not have a good vegetarian option, the chef kindly accomodated us by making us a very good penne arrabbiata. Would like to suggest to have more vetegetarian options for on the dinner menu.

This is a great hotel for those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. We had booked 2 rooms, but due to faulty AC, 1 of the rooms was upgraded after we informed them. The staff are very polite and professional. Breakfast buffet had really good food, although quite repetitive for a vegetarian. Spa facilities were great too. We brought our car with us and there is onsite parking at the hotel.

Lovely place but needs better customer service

Lovely place beds are so comfy , staff on restaurant need to be trained , everytime I asked something to do with menu etc reply was oh I will go find out . Reception needs to be better manned especially when busy . We checked in on a Friday evening it was very busy and only one person on desk .who proceeded to tell anyone what a good job he was doing . While checking us in he kept going off and speaking to other people even on way to our room . He needs to concentrate on people he's dealing with .

Very much a case of the good and the bad. On arrival the room wasnt ready at 3pm, so there was a slight delay whilst we sat listening to canned music of elevator style. However, the room was excellent and the beds comfy. The breakfast was a very good quality buffet style breakfast with lots of choices. The problems mainly were in the pool and spa area. Hotel stated that the pool and spa area opened at 9am so we went there after breakfast. We could not get anyone's attention to get keys for the lockers despite a lady being on a personal call on the phone. Eventually she came off the phone, no apologies for ignoring us, just a comment that things dont open until 10am and she therefore cant give us a key for a locker. Signage by the pool even confirmed the opening time was due to be 9am, but this grumpy woman was no use to anyone! So we took our belongings through to the pool area to be safer... The sauna was stone cold when we arrived and on departing at 11am, wasnt much better. The jacuzzi was just luke warm but the steam room was at good temperature. Sadly the spa area showers were out of action so we had to keep going back to the changing rooms to shower off before going back in the pool. Also there was no drinking water supply in the spa area. Could be such a nice little spa area, but management and service sadly lacking. Its an easy 20 minute walk to nearby good restaurants.

Amazing breakfast - glad it waa included in the price of our room.
Steam room out of order.
Sauna took ages to heat up, but I understand why they wouldn't want to keep it on constantly. However, it would have been good if steam room was working and sauna was turned on at the start of the day because i wanted to use the sauna in the morning and couldnt as it took 1 hr to heat up, and we had plans to go out.
Overall, a great stay. Would recommend!

The property was immaculate. Loved the breakfast and the people working there are friendly. The room was spacious and the house-keeping was amazing.

The only issue I had was with the spa. The only time I could actually use the steam room or sauna was when it was crowded, otherwise it was either a technical issue or time to close (at 6 pm). Being a spa hotel, it should give the person access to the steam room or the sauna, even at 6pm, to enjoy a relaxed evening.

I must admit, I did love the indoor warm pool.
I will surely re-book when I visit Malta again.

The whole hotel and our room was spotlessly clean, fantastic spa and activities such as archery and tennis. Breakfast has a good range although more hot vegetarian options would be good. We went to the buffet dinner twice - the food was not always warm and was expensive for the quality. Very quiet area but easy to walk to Sliema and nearby areas. Perfect for rest and relaxation. We will be back for sure!! The maintenance and cleaning staff are doing a great job. Thank you!

Nice accommodation just under 15 minutes away from the airport. Parking available. Staff are great and friendly. The place was fairly clean but could have been better. For example the floors needed mopping as they were very dirty. There are two outdoor pools and it’s a shame they close early (by 6:30pm). The hotel food is decent but there is that much variety. Overall I would stay it was a nice place to stay but there is room for improvement

Overall the hotel, pool, rooms and surrounding was nice, staff was professional, very kind and problem solving. All issues were after short time solved (wifi problem, electricity blackout/aircon problem). Bottled water was not prepared in the room (after asking we got 2 x 0,5l water for 3 persons). Breakfast was every day totally the same and the variety was not really wide. Half of the foods were processed. Overall we were able to eat our breakfast, but for the price we were waiting a bit more. Pools and surroundings were nice and clean. Rooms were cleaned every day and once again the staff was very helpful and kind.

The property has an amazing setting in a very quiet area. The staff are extremely sweet and helpful.

However it was raining when I was there and to get to the reception or breakfast area I got absolutely drenched.

They kindly gave me a room upgrade, I will return in a few days and hope to be able to enjoy such a room in better weather

Great Hotel - quiet location

Very good stay , hotel clean and staff friendly . Good Breakfasts .
Improvements : Cleaners seem to leave lights on in rooms after they have cleaned ( not god for environment). We are not fans of the dinner Resturant . For the price the quality of the food needs improvement . We ate there earlier in the year and decided to give it a go this time but sadly we felt the same . It’s a shame as the venue with outside tables is lovely .

The daily cleaning was good there's still room for improvement, especially with the dusting.

I didn't like that guest could smoke in the hotel ground. That put me off having dinner.

Urban Valley Resort does not accept AMEX card for payment on site. Not accepting a major worldwide Credit card like AMEX for payment is a major drawback.

The Hotel is comfortable, clean and modern with a large pool and good service. Food is not quite up to par but otherwise a pleasant stay.

Urban Valley resort is 10 minutes taxi ride away from the tourist centres of Valetta, St Julians and Sliema. There are no bars or restaurants around - its surrounded by housing. That is the only one downside however a courtesy bus is available during parts of the day. Everything else I can tell you about this place is really positive. There are 2 pools, both good for kids as they never go deeper than 1.3 metres. The rooms are clean and tidy with air-conditioning and plenty of space. The whole place has a very peaceful, family friendly vibe. Staff are helpful and we never struggled to find a sunbed - tons of space and thats in August. The included breakfast was top quality. We would definately go back

It’s okay. Although I didn’t like the room they put me in. After complaining about not hot water in the bathroom. The concierge didn’t do anything about it. Even after she had said she would call me.
The rooms are spacious. Plain but nice. It would have been a better experience if I had been placed in a better room, with a better view. And also better if I was treated well.

Very good hotel , clean , friendly staff , excellent breakfast buffet , comfortable rooms .

Sadly the day before we left we discovered a small but expensive item of clothing was missing from our room , we reported it and whilst it was investigated we did not get an outcome . We were advised to report at the police station but we did not want to spend our last day doing this . There was a safe in the room which we used for other items ( cash , iPad etc ) .
