Large comfortable room, excellent restaurant and one of the best breakfasts I have ever seen, if not the best. The hotel is lovely and so are the staff and a great location for getting back on the motorway. Nice to have a fridge in the room as not many hotels have these now.

Great dog friendly hotel in a lovely suburb of Rouen. Possibly the most dog friendly hotel we have ever stayed in. We enjoyed a relaxing stop over and enjoyed walking the dog in the adjacent neighbourhood.

Friendly and it felt like an old school family run hotel close enough to Rouen for exploration but rural enough for a peaceful night listening to the tawny owls.

What a wonderful hotel!
We only stayed overnight on our road trip down to Spain with our greyhound.
The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. There was a lovely peaceful garden with sun loungers and pods if you wanted shade.
Our meal in the restaurant, which is dog friendly, was one of the best meals we have had and at a reasonable price.
The interim has some wonderful artwork.
Would highly recommend as it was one of the best stays of our trip. 10 put of ten all round! 😊

Lovely stop over on our trip to Ireland. Cosy rooms and we really appreciate how dog friendly the hotel is which our 2 little doggies really enjoyed and they even joined us for dinner in the restaurant. The food was good for dinner. We will be back not just because I left clothing behind but it is a lovely friendly hotel.

Stayed here passing through to Calais. Ideal stop off as near to the motorway. Dog friendly. The restaurant was lovely French cuisine. The room had a second door separating the bedroom from the entry door which cut down on hearing anyone in corridors which was a bonus to help my dog settle a lot easier.
Would definitely stay here again.

There was no air conditioning in our room. The toilet room was a bit close. The beds and linen were very good. The restaurant was good a lovely tasting menu. Our dog was welcome and plenty of outside space to run. The best bit was location for the motorway to Calais.

Lovely peaceful location, with plenty of safe parking near to exit for motorway. Excellent overnight stop. Dinner was good, but let down by raw baked apple, twice! Good service at reception and in restaurant .Good selection at breakfast. Would stop over again as it is a only 2 hours from Tunnel.

Another fantastic stay!

Another fantastic stay at this hotel! We use it every year as a stopover en route to Calais. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and work very hard! The whole hotel is extremely clean and the restaurant is a joy! An added bonus is location-easy to find, quiet, great parking and so, so easy to get back on motorway to Calais. We will return!

Receptionist was wonderful, hotel and amenities tired but clean. We went for the Gastronomic menu expecting great things but was sadly disappointed. Everything tasted of Maggie stock cubes and we had eaten far better homemade food in a workmans cafe in Portugal the day before for €10 between us with drinks. Not €49 per headas in La Berteliere. However we had three dogs with us so grateful for any hotel that lets us stay! We just wont eat there next time....

Room clean a few cobwebs in bathroom the fridge wouldn’t open but reported to reception and she bought two bottles of water. Bed comfortable. Ate in restaurant which was a bit of a shambles owing to staff shortage. Food and wine was excellent when it arrived but we thought very expensive.

A real disappointment

The hotel was rated 4 stars and it was nice in the common areas, however the rooms were very dated, there was no air conditioning in an east facing room so it was stinking hot all the time and to add to that the beds were very soft and uncomfortable. Finally breakfast at 19 € per person is the most expensive we had seen for some time - unfortunately we would not recommend this hotel and would not stay there again! The photographer they got to take the hotel photos online is very good - they have made this hotel look far better than it is and definitely not 4 star!

Welcome & convenient overnight stay.

Decor etc has improved in rooms, super comfy beds. The restaurant is lovely as ever, could do with a few changes on menu after the years we have been staying, current chef is very good! All staff/patrons are pleasant & helpful, with good language skills. Very welcoming to small dogs.
Quiet & secure location yet very near motorway.
I’m sorry we will no longer take breakfast at €19 each, that’s a personal thing, after a lovely dinner we do not feel this is worthwhile, can’t eat that much !
But, if you are able to book a room including breakfast at an advantageous rate I probably would !

We were delayed en route and did not reach the hotel until midnight. Reception had left our keys ready and the night receptionist got us into our room in less than 5 minutes.
The hotel is beautifully appointed and warm. 5 minutes from the Autoroute.
Although the breakfast looks dear at €20, we had a huge choice including freshly squeezed orange juice, hot and cold buffet and a wide selection of meats and cheese.
The bedrooms are well furnished and the bed was enormous. In our room the bathroom and WC were separate - very useful.
The staff were all incredibly friendly.
Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Room ok. No air conditioning would've been an issue if the weather had been much hotter. Quiet area & good car park.

Nobody serving in the bar at 7pm, despite waiting several minutes, so I had to ask at reception (even had to wait until someone arrived there), though the mojito was good when I finally received it & the canapés were a nice touch. Again a wait for any staff when I arrived at the restaurant, then a refusal to let me sit outside, despite the nice weather, resulting in the restaurant being very stuffy. The waiter did sit me at a decent table near the door, but then I was moved after I had already sat down because I was by myself! The decision was taken by a manager & the waiter was so embarrassed he then allowed me to sit outside. I've eaten in many places by myself and I can't remember the last time I was made to feel so unwelcome.

I decided to treat myself to the €49 menu. The food was a bit disappointing & not worth the money (the scallops in the ceviche were gritty) - the last time I spent that much on dinner, it was in a 5* hotel in London and the food far better. However, because I was hungry & tired after a long drive that day, I ate it without bothering to complain.

Breakfast entailed another wait for staff & even for a plate! Bacon thin, only frankfurter sausages, generally poor selection, with hot drinks only from a machine.

Rack rate was €168 + €19 for breakfast. If I'd paid this, I'd have complained. At the £75 all in I paid, it was ok.

This was a nice hotel. The rooms were clean and quiet. It is sort of in the middle of a suburban area, so not really close to anything tourist-y. Nice courtyard. There is no game room, despite it being advertised in the lobby. The restaurant was rather expensive, but the food was very good.

We had a great stay in a comfortable if dated room and a really good dinner. All was going well until breakfast - at 19 euros the most expensive of our month long trip. The dining room was littered with the debris of two coach parties which had left a long time earlier and the buffet had not been replenished. A disinterested member of staff eventually appeared and brought some cold bacon. We mentioned this at checkout and got 2 breakfasts for the expensive price of one.

OK if you don't want to be in the city centre

Booked on the day so got a good price but otherwise very expensive. Traditional place outside Rouen. In a really quiet leafy area with tweeting birds. After the drive through Rouen didn't ventureout of the hotel as the traffic in the city lools pretty awful!
First imoressions are lots of parking but gardens could do with a bit of attention. Receptionist looked as though he had been on duty for 24 hours and was very one worded (this could have been my lackof French though). Pleasant enough room if a bit dated and bath tub just about big enough. Wifi good near reception but only just acceptable at the far end of the hotel. We ate dinner at the hotel which was pleasant but the wine list seemed rather expensive for French wine. Breakfast typical with a few hot and cold items but wouldn't pay thier fees for it (we got a breakfast inclusive rate).
Ok stay and would stay again as we pass through that area regularly.

We always stay here. Very convenient stopover for our journey further South. Quiet area, efficient staff and comfortable, clean rooms. Wifi connection has always been good in the past, but was poor this time. We were at the end of a corridor, so possibly the reason, went to reception/ bar area where it was fine. Good restaurant, although they don't have any Vegetarian Dishes on the menu, they have always been happy to make an omelette especially.

A perfect place for a one-night stop off as only 2 hours from Calais - just as the reviews suggested. Location is just north of the city so quiet, easy to park and a nice garden. Rooms were very comfortable with everything you need and reliable wifi. Staff were friendly and polite. Had high hopes for the restaurant given the reviews we'd read and weren't disappointed, food VERY good as was the service. Breakfast was one of the best we've had with a huge choice of hot & cold food. Will definitely use again whilst travelling through France.

Fabulous hotel.

Loved this hotel. Only a stop-over for 1 night. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Check in was very quick. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and warm. The bed was so lovely and comfortable. The food was excellent though a bit too much cream in it for me. Breakfast had plenty of choice. The gardens surrounding the hotel weren't at their best in December, but will be a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a drink in summer. The building is found in a classy residential area. Would love to go back for longer. Oh and I almost forgot-very dog friendly which is great as we have 2 dogs.

This is exactly the hotel we were looking for after landing at Charles de Gaulle from Newark USA and driving on our way to le Mont st Michel. Very friendly staff and comfortable bedroom. We had dinner at their restaurant that evening as we did not want to go out for dinner and I must say we made the right decision. Food was excellent and ambiance at the dining hall was great.

Overnight stay when passing through Rouen.

Chosen for its position north of Rouen on route to Calais when driving through France. On first impression this hotel looked very good, however on closer observation cleanliness, especially in the evening dining room was poor - splashes of food and drink on walls, doors and windows. The evening meal however was very good although pricey. The buffet breakfast although supposed to be from 7am until 10am had very little still on offer just before 9am eg no coffee or cooked food left with one member of staff only interested in cleaning away used dishes. The bedroom had a separate toilet to the bathroom, however with no wash hand basin, the beds were soft and sloped slightly from one side to the other, the bath was short and narrow, making taking a shower quite awkward. Even though the grounds looked to be well cared for the overall impression of the hotel was of needing a thorough refurbishment.

Requested room looking over back with twin beds, got room over looking front with a double, not end of the world! Love the restaurant but please change the menu plaisir as stayed so many times now......we decide what we want without a menu.... Breakfast on the whole is excellent except the scrambled eggs, quite awful.... Still our first choice stopover, very good for the price. First time we've had no internet tho.

A comfortable hotel, in a quiet area.

We always stay at this hotel en route to the south. It's in a quiet residential area, is comfortable and has free secure parking. The breakfast has an excellent selection of hot & cold food and is like a British breakfast: bacon, egg, toast & marmalade etc.
The only negative is there is no Vegetarian food on the menu but they did make an omelette especially.

The hotel is on a par with Travelodge rather than Premier Inn but nevertheless very good value for France even if the rooms are bit tired. They all you need in them.

However the restaurant is decidedly upmarket by comparison.

We have stayed here before and would go back if we needed a place to break a journey in the Rouen area

Shame about the restaurant, nice decoration poor service, waited 1hr 20min for starter, fish terrine, absolutely awefull, soggy bread with a smidgen of fish paste, main course of chicken adequate. waited 20 min for desert order to be taken, gave up. Went outside the restaurant and the \"waiter\" was sitting down having a drink and a chat !!
We complained about the service the next morning, the \"waiter\" turned out to be the owner, no apology, defended his ability and totally refuted the fact that we had waited so long for dinner, the restaurant wasn't over busy.
Would we go there again, NO.

Great location in a quiet residential suburb. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Add the free wi-fi and free parking and this is very good value for money. Would definitely stay here again.

Felt ripped off

I ordered a salad and asked to have the dressing on the side. I was told the dressing was already on. When the salad arrived it was saturated in dressing. I could not even eat it. I was still charged 12 euro for an enedable salad.
The menu prices were excedenly high. I usually never make comments but I feel that they should not of charged for a plate of limp lettuce. I was in a restaurant by the Eiffel Tower and had a beautiful fresh salad, dressing on the side for 5 euros. Go figure - out in the subards compared to a high tourist area.

If nothing else, enjoy their excellent restaurant

By far, the best thing of this place was their restaurant. Excellent food and good value for money. Great wine-list and good service. A large breakfast buffet gives you a wonderful start on the day.

Fully deserves 4 star rating

Stayed for overnight stop on way to Spain. The hotel was superb. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Our room was big enough and the bed was very comfortable.
We had breakfast included and it was superb, hot fayre and cold. Highly recommended, we would definitely stay again.

Great hotel

Good location close to the motorway. Parking safe and secure and only about 5 min from centre of town. Breakfast included on my stay always a bonus. Great for an overnight stop when either heading south or north.

Good en-route stopover.

Found hotel easily but due to delay at tunnel we arrived later than expected to find restaurant fully booked, reception suggested we drove into Rouen but we booked this hotel to avoid Rouen centre... If this happens to you ask for a meal in your room, no room service advertised but they will accommodate you, was worth waiting for! very comfy beds, quite clean rooms, adequate breakfast but only if included in room price... quiet location, not sure it merits 4 stars but would definitely return

Average hotel overrated with 4*

The hotel was fine but overrated with its 4* rating. The restaurant set menu at 29€ was boring with 4 starters, 3 of which were fish based and the other was asparagus. Out of the 4 main courses two were fish. There were no vegetarian options, not that I am vegetarian. Being quite a journey out of town driving into town for a meal wasn't an option as far as I was concerned. I had a far better meal in another town for half the price.

The room was adequate although, in the 4 nights I was there, I never did sort out the lights and the only way to turn off all the lights at bedtime was, bizarrely, to use a switch on the side of the wardrobe. there were, however, a reasonable number of English channels on the TV, all of which were news channels.

My bill had to be corrected 3 times, starting at 700+€ and ending at below 500€ for a 4 night stay.

Quiet, peaceful hotel right outside Rouen

The hotel was very nice but the rooms were dated. Could use a refurbishing to really be a four star but the bed was very comfortable and that's what counts after a long day. There is a nice-looking restaurant in the hotel but it only served complete dinners, nothing a la carte, and after a long journey we just wanted something light, like soup and salad and they wouldn't serve us. There were no other options to eat so we had to go to bed hungry. Not an ideal situation!

Nice hotel, not far from the centre of Rouen

The hotel is in a lovely situation. Our only problem was that the dining room was fully booked and having travelling 170 miles by motorbike, we were quite tired and would have preferred to eat there. However, we capitalised on this by getting a taxi into the centre of Rouen where we had a spectacular meal and also got to see some of the night life in the city.

pleasant overnight stay.

Stayed overnight enroute to Calais.Very pretty surroundings and lovely gardens but quite residential ,no other restsurants or shops within walking distance,so you are very reliant on hotel restaurant for dining.
Quite welcoming reception staff.
Rooms comfortable,good mattress and pleasant views of garden.Tea snd coffee facilities in the room were a big bonus.

Bathroom needed a little bit of a facelift as tiles mouldy in places and bedroom carpet needed a clean,this classed as 4star hotel.Had supper in restaurant that night,although food was good servicecwas very slow with no apologies.Took us 2 hrs to get 2 courses and my husband ended up getting a menu card for himself as he was sat for over 20 minutes and still had not received any attention,restaurant was quite busy and they only had 2 servers.
Breakfast however was really good,buffet style with lots of options hot and cold with fresh fruits and yogurt.
On checking out slight problem in that we were charged for breakfast which we had paid for already as it was included in hotel price.After a little checking the receptionist agreed that he had made a mistake an reimbursed us.
All in all a good stay but would probarbly not stay afain as a little remote and food in restaurant a tad expensive.

A superb experience

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable overnight stop travelling north to a channel crossing after a tiring journey.
Great ambiance and superb secure car parking. Our only criticism is lack of aircon in bedrooms.
The restaurant offered more reasonable choices to those on previous stays and was an excellent experience. Breakfast was up to the usual high standard. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful especially at reception where an error on the part of hotels.com was dealt with spontaneously. We are regular travellers in France and give this hotel our highest recommandation.
