The hotel is super close to the main train station in Montpellier and a walking distance to the main shopping / restaurant areas of the city, as well as interesting places to see. There is also a taxi stand right outside of the hotel. If you need to get some groceries, there is Carrefour express nearby. I also found a shop with vegetarian items in the street close to the hotel.

The room and bathroom were clean, and pleasant. I did find some aspects confusing such as paper cups instead of regular cups to drink tea/coffee, no spoons in the room, and the socket to plug the handy kettle in was in an odd place.
The bed was super comfy, and I really liked a USB charger next to the bed.

If you have misophonia like I do, please be warned that there is a vent in the room that produces a constant - subtle - noise. Bring airplugs if you're likely to be affected by it.
The staff were helpful and friendly. I really appreciated their help with booking a taxi for my early departure.

I didn't try their breakfast but it looked delicious!

The only major disappointment was the wifi. As a visitor from outside of France, I heavily relied on it being available - and it wasn't at all. It didn't work because of the out-of-date security certificate, which I alerted the staff too. This didn't get resolved in the 4 days I stayed there, which was quite inconvenient.

Comfy, well located to explore MP

Fresh second brand hotel (except for the grubby corridor carpet). Rooms large with great bed and bathroom. Hotel entrance is behind building, right hand side as you look from the gare. Good supermarket 3 minutes walk.

The only aspect I did not care for was that though the hotel described a fitness area, that area was sparse with functional equipment. Otherwise for those that do not desire that feature would recommend this hotel easily.

Lovely 3 star! Stone throw from Gare St Roch if train arriving from Carcassonne platform!! Or 2 min walk from main staion!! We were well suprised that hotel was attached to a 5 star property (linking corridor)and you could enjoy the facilites of fab cocktail bar) etc Room decent size. Bathrooom nice, Kettle/coffee etc (No fridge) 10 mins walk to Main Place Comedie( Trams from hotel everywhere!) Great place!!

We chose the location because the transport links and walkable distance to places we needed to visit. However, our room window was toward a noisy street and it was pretty loud all night.
It’s very clean and cosy, but the lighting in the rooms is really only suitable if you want to just sleep there, if you need to work a bit there is no adequate lighting and only one power socket by the desk.
It’s a perfect hotel for holiday stay, but not perfect so for work trips.

Terrible check in staff, FALSE hotel photos used

When I booked the hotel, the photos used for the property were of the adjacent property (Hotel Belaroia), which was a 4 star vs a 3 star hotel. This was extremely misleading, as the actual hotel (Campanile) looked nothing like the photos (obviously). We also had a very unpleasant encounter with a horrible check in guy who was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. We asked if we could check in early, or pay to check in early - he said there was NOTHING available. We then booked an early check in on dayuse.com, which subsequently forced him to check us in early. This probably lost money for Hotel Campanile as they probably now have to pay a commission! Terrible value for money as had we known that the photos were that of the next door hotel, we would have paid the extra €15 per night as it was a far superior hotel. Our room had no safe, no fridge, and very poor air conditioning.

This was the first hotel in 20 years which didn't have a fridge. The outside temperature was 37C so being able to keep drinking water cold is a necessity. They sold small bottles of water in reception for 3 Euros.
The hotel is just concerned with making more money from it's customers rather than trying to make them feel comfortable. The previous hotel to this had a free water cooler where we could refill our water bottles. Better for the environment, cheaper, and more convenient than this hotel which is why I am only giving it 1 star.

AC weak but nice otherwise!

Air conditioning wasn't very strong. They did try hard to move me to a room with better AC but even then it wasn't great. Thankfully they brought me a fan when I wasked for one and I was able to be cool enough to sleep. Probably room was around 73-75 fahrenheit if I were to guess. Not bad but I run warm. Other than that it was a lovely place and perfect for us to stumble out of bed in the morning to catch our 7am train!

We had a curt reception. There was no parking or even a luggage drop-off area. The desk clerk told us of a nearby parking garage but couldn’t tell us how to get there, saying to put it in the GPS.
The hotel does not have many amenities but is connected to another that does. There is however a small breakfast area.
The room was serviceable, but the carpet was stained.

Contemporary, modern hotel, walking distance from the city center and the Montpellier Saint-Roch central train station. The hotel is very clean, the staff very nice and helpful, has elevators, and the price is quite reasonable. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the shower (not all hotels have nice, clean and well-lit showers). Walking minutes from the Place de la Comédie with its cafés and from the old city streets. There are always taxis in front of the hotel and if you prefer public transportation, there is a nearby tramway station. The hotel is across from the Saint-Roch train station, allowing you to plan little day trips with local trains to visit more places around Montpellier, then walk back to the hotel to rest. Very easy and safe access to the hotel day and night. On the downside, if you are arriving late at night, there is nothing open around the hotel except a McDonald's small location where you must order at a window and wait outside, or a bar. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant (you can go to the restaurant of the Belaroia Hotel (same building, different hotel) but it can be a bit pricey for some guests. However, this restaurant is not open late and the Campanile hotel itself doesn't have food options available for guests arriving late. So if you are arriving at night, bring some snacks with you. The electric kettle in the room was broken and the mattress was a bit firm for me (but you may like it), but we otherwise had a good stay.

Overall, I think this hotel could do with an all round update.

It’s lacking some of the basics I’ve come to expect of budget/tourist hotels (e.g. there’s not a safe nor a fridge in the room). However, the staff were friendly and happy to supply a few bits we’d forgotten to pack.

I wouldn’t stay for longer than a night or two.

My family and I checked into the hotel in the afternoon (2 rooms). The air conditioning was working when we left at 4 PM to go on a wine tour. When we returned to the hotel at 11 PM, both rooms were hot. In fact, the hallway was much cooler than our rooms. I asked the receptionist what they could do to fix the problem. She said that there was no solution. I told her that I wanted to check out and move to another hotel. She agreed to provide a full refund for both rooms. Currently, Hotel Campanille is only offering a refund for one of the two rooms. This is unacceptable because they could not rectify the situation and we ended up spending more to move to another hotel at 11 PM at night. This caused much stress during our vacation.

Even though this hotel was right next to a train station and the tram literally right outside, the sound proofing was so amazing you don’t hear a thing outside. The hotel itself and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also a nice spa for massages in the hotel. Minus the usual characters around train stations at night, everything about the stay was great

Great stay for a solo traveler!

Great room, very new, good sized too! The service was great as well. Only thing was the location which was alright by day but not best to be walking around at night. The hotel has limited parking in its building so to get one you'll need to get to the hotel earlier.

Comfortable bed and okay sized room convenient location for trains and trams . The hotel is in a building but the name skip my mind, therefore we have to call the reception just to find it. Parking is located nearly across the train station , you must park on the 4th floor (15€) otherwise you’ll get charge a hefty price.

Brand new hotel. A little confusing to locate as it is attached to an adjoining hotel. Room is small but completely adequate and functional. Had some strange whistling noise coming from the window one night - apparently the window isn’t quite sealed enough to prevent wind noise from penetrating. Staff is professional and friendly. Location is great - across from train station and a short walk to virtually all of the major sights.

Ich war für zwei Nächte in diesem Hotel. Es befindet sich 2 Gehminuten vom Bahnhof entfernt. Auch die Innenstadt ist nicht weit (ca. 10 Gehminuten).
Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und für den Preis absolut zweckdienlich eingerichtet. An der Rezeption wird gutes und bereitwillig Englisch gesprochen (eine Seltenheit in Frankreich).

La chambre, impeccable, propre et agréable et bien insonorisée. Seul problème sonore, le ventilateur clim était impossible à éteindre, cela a été signalé et devrait donc être résolu. Par contre, la banquette de la salle du petit-déjeuner etait tachée, pas propre et pleine de miettes alors que la table etait dressée et propre. Le jeune homme a préféré ranger ses assiettes avant de remédier à la remise en service de la machine à café...pas bien grave mais ... le client d'abord... accueil à la réception agréable.
