Ok I've stayed here before in a double room. This was a single room - it was small but clean. Room was ok. The communal areas are tired. The stairs smelt quite unpleasantly. I couldn't see any vibile soling. Thete are no on-site staff so I couldn't escalate.

Small, cozy hotel in a nice suburb of Dublin, about 20 mins from city centre. No amenities on site but plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, some on-site parking, and good transport to city centre. Good value if you don´t need to be in the centre.

On a first glance room was great even though very small. It didn't correspond to 12sq.m Great amenities. Underfloor heating. You need to adjust the temperature on the heater & separately for underfloor heating. In the bathroom there was clear sign of dry rod & some mould. There were various switches but not clear marking for their purpose, so fan was a pure guess how to switch on. TV signal was very poor, may be something worth looking into? A great touch with Nespresso machine, however, that hasn't been cleaned for a while with container overflowing with coffee capsules & tray with dirty water. The same applies for tray with cups & kettle. The drip part was not cleaned at all leaving black marks around the rim ofof cups. cleaned for

Room did not resemble the pictures on the website. There was a strong smell of blocked drains throughout the property. I arrived too late to make new arrangements for the first night so stayed, keeping the bathroom window open to try to manage the smell. No staff were available. Nobody answered the phone number provided. I did not stay the second booked night. Hotels.com say they have been trying to secure a refund for me, but with no joy. The hotel is not answering my emails. This is the sort of hotel that gives Dublin a bad reputation. I will not be using hotels.com again as, clearly, the information on the website is not a reliable indication of the quality of experience you can expect.

You are staying in a VRBO that looks like a hotel. No one is going to greet you or help you at the desk. Once I figured that out the room was fine and I really liked the neighborhood. We didn’t have a car and the bus system to town was great.

You do get what you pay for... Our stay was overall not bad but there were some not great things. Such as, the hallway carpets are stained and old, the hallway also has an odor, the smoke alarm is right outside of bathroom door so it went off when showering, and the tv doesn’t work. But the cleaning staff was very nice and helpful.

The location is really easy to navigate from within the city. Getting downtown was easy and cheap with the bus route right outside and down the street.
We appreciated the cleaning staff and how kind and helpful they were and the addition of the common space to work/relax is a good help when you need to get some space to work.

The location wasn’t too bad as the neighborhood is nice, and shops are a short walk away. It’s a bit deceptive from the photos what the hotel looks like. It has a chandelier as a spotlight as if it’s a charming, sophisticated hotel. In reality, there’s no one in the hotel to help. One needs codes to get in the hotel and room. The communication was good as I had to call a number for the codes, because I didn’t see the email before I arrived. The room was clean, the single bed was small, and average comfort. Nice shower, but the mirror at the sink, outside the bathroom, didn’t have its own light. Why? The TV channels were a mess, and took certification to figure out how to get more than two channels.
I know that the price was higher for the NFL game weekend, but $350 U.S. dollars was “highway robbery” for that room. I had a more luxury room at a Motel 6 in Palookaville, Iowa, and I got a big fat breakfast out of it for a $150. If you can’t get a real hotel, instead of a faux VRBO hotel, this is a good choice for 120 Euros max, only because it’s in a nice area in Rathgar.

When we arrived we could not get any access to the property or the room. Got access to the property when somebody came out. Then we found we had to email the company to get our room number and access codes. Other people had the same problem. Not good enough as we should have had this information before we arrived. Expensive and small room.

When I closed the window and then went into the shower area the full impact of the smell hit.
Really disgusting. Unfortunately it was too late to make other arrangements and I spent a very unpleasant night and got out as early as I could the next day.
Don’t risk it. Find another place to stay.

No 9 Rathgar was an unpleasant experience. The pictures did not accurately depict our room. There were bugs, hair from previous guests and stains on the sheets. I have pictures of it all. Do not recommend staying at no 9 Rathgar

The room was clean and newly redone. However, I did not know it had no reception which caused issues in getting my delayed luggage delivered. The hallway smelled like sewage. It was truly disgusting. My room fridge was warm and I couldn’t adjust it so my leftovers spoiled. Housekeeping is upon request only.

This is not a hotel- it’s basically a room to rent with no physical welcome or service and no included room cleaning. Virtual check in was efficient but the room was tiny, barely room to get around the bed and the only basin was right by the bed, not in the tiny space that held the shower and loo. Literally no space to put suitcase except across the door - not ideal if emergency exit required. Very very disappointed indeed. One light bulb not working. Overall very unwelcoming and very poor value. We will not be staying here again.

The room is small and has a comfortable bed. There was no water provided in the room. Unfortunately there isn’t good soundproofing and I could hear doors closing, tvs and loud conversations happening well into the night which prevented me from getting decent sleep.
There is a walk in shower with good water pressure but the spray from the shower was coming out onto the floor while I was waiting for the water to heat up. Then the drain couldn’t keep up and the water overflowed onto the tiled floor. There was also some mould where the tiles meet the shower tray.
I wouldn’t consider this to be a 4 star hotel, in fact it’s more of a hostel or at best a guest house.

Our stay was tainted by a poor check-in experience that clouded anything else we might have appreciated more.
First, when we booked, we expected more of a regular hotel with staff on site. We were staying in Airbnb's the rest of the trip and had decided to stay in a hotel for this one night. It was an adequate building with parking, which we needed, but I wouldn't really call it a hotel.
The instructions we received for check-in said there would be nobody on site and gave us codes to get in. We made it all the way to our door and used the code successfully on the Yale lock, only to discover that the lock did not have its inner workings and did nothing to actually lock the door.
We eventually, after about an hour, accessed the key to lock the bottom doorknob so that we could securely lock our belongings in our room and go eat. During that time, we emailed the owners and made phone calls, which in itself was an ordeal to get working with our international phones. We never received a response from the email or phone calls but luckily found a maintenance guy who happened to drive into the back parking lot while I was sitting in my car making phone calls. He helped us access the physical key to lock the door to our room, but not after an extremely frustrating time up until that point.
The room itself was spacious, modern, clean. There were no towels when we arrived, but they were available to pick up down the hall. The beds were reasonably comfortable, outlets worked, etc.

We had to ask for more towels, they gave us two, didn’t go very far when you’re mopping up water.
There was an open package of crackers on top of the microwave and three cans of beer in the dirty refrigerator.

Awful excuse for a hotel
No receptionist at any time, tiny room at more than $230 a night, tiny bathroom so small sink is actually in the bedroom, pictures are not accurate on the sites as it shows Victorian house with ornate features which is only true at the front of the house. The rooms are mostly in the back in an ugly red brick extension with little light narrow corridors and small rooms. Overall terrible and I'm shocked to see anyone unless their friends give top reviews. Oh and ironing board is the one you place on your bed and half the size as normal and it was a tiny thin piece of fabric on top otherwise iron mesh that I ironed into my shirt!

Do not mistake this site for anything other than a rooming house. This so very much misrepresented. It is not a hotel on any scale. We could not stay after having a look at the rooms. If you have asthma or an aversion to high humidity in your room. This is not the place for you. Very disappointed, didn’t stay and took the rental fee in the chin. Four of us researched the location, and we were all duped.

Everything is remote access codes for entry and reception which we didn’t get until we phoned at the front door. However access and room very good. Our room was above the front door which did seem to bang closed a lot. Neighbourhood was excellant and bus transport ample to town

Was ok for short stay, but wouldn’t stay long. No staff on site, but they respond quickly to messages and are helpful. As far as the room, the blinds were broken, the wood trim in the bathroom was rotted and you could hear every step from above room. Bed also wasn’t comfortable and had dips in it.

The property is in a very nice location south of the city and there is several bus stops with in a 5-10 minute walk from the property. The rooms are ok, not bad but not really the cleanest. There is no staff on property except to clean up after checkout. The check in process is very easy without having staff on the property.

We arrived quite late, room had not been cleaned from previous guests’ stay. Bathroom and shower had hair in it. Bedsheets had been slept in. Carpet was filthy. Towel was folded but when opened had make up stains on it. Tried to email and call hotel no response until more than 12 hours later, with “sorry about the inconvenience “ they say security person is there, we saw no one.

Good location. Clear check-in instructions. Nice to have a coffee machine. Room was on the smaller side, shower sprayed onto the floor, toilet was tight and the coffee machine needed cleaning out as stale water had been left in it. Room was really hot and restricted windows. Quilt thick, pillows x2 per person and I had to fold in home to get any volume. Half the tv channels didn’t work and people park like idiots. Lines need spraying or painting with how you want people to park. Location is fantastic, on a bus route and the room was plenty adequate for a stopover! Communal area downstairs to use too.

I would recommend you stay somewhere else. This accommodation doesn’t have a desk clerk and is supposed to send you a key code to access the front door. I waited 1 hour outside with no help or contact from the staff. I was tired and hungry, thankfully Expedia was great and helped me gain access to the front door, but after that I had to wait another hour as I still did not have any information regarding my room. I was also told that my room was not ready and this facility has on their page that check in is at 2pm. I arrived at 2:15pm - due to lack of communication from the staff I did not get my room/any information to access my room until around 4pm. Once in the room it did not look like any of the photos on their Expedia page and it was not overly clean and was run down. I have since emailed the staff at this establishment about my experience and have not gotten a response.

What can I say about this trip? The place is nice enough although the photos were clearly taken years ago. Didn't receive a code to get in, the management are impossible to get hold of so we had to just turn up and hope for a miracle. Luckily a fellow guest let us in but had a similar experience to us and spent two hours trying to get in. The emergency numbers in the lounge are out of date, the management eventually answered - they don't like to answer mobiles due to spam WTAF when you have guests arriving. - but were less than helpful and tried to hang up saying use the code we have sent you. Honestly thought we would be sleeping on the street. The room was nice enough but there is no air con and the fridge didn't work. Wouldn't return due to the unnecessary stress of getting in. Area is great. Quiet with pubs and eating places within walking distance and plenty of buses into town

Potential improvements - The curtains in my room could have done with a clean. There was no milk provided with the tea and coffee - this was fine as there as a fridge so I walked to the shop but some miniatures would have been handy for when I first arrived. The property was ok, a bit pricy in comparison with other European cities, but ok when it comes to Dublin. There were some cobwebs around the corners of the room and some of the lights were not working. The main door whilst closed was making a lot of noise. Great location! The area was quiet and clean and with good bus connections . Great if you like a 40 min walk ti the city centre. a good experience overall

This was a delightful property. It is an older building which was been added to and updated. The room was clean and roomy. It was a delightful stay. We came back to Dublin for our last night and I definitely wished that I had booked this property for that night as well. I highly recommend this property.

I have stayed here previously and was very happy and satisfied so rebooked this time I was in Ireland, however very disappointed, the noise was non stop and the front door was horrendously loud banging all hours of the night, definitely they need to sort this out. I had a heavy suitcase and had to wheel it over gravel to get to the steps and then had to lug my bag down stairs with no help. When I got to my room, it was so small that there wasn’t even room for a luggage stand to open my bag up. The sink in the bedroom with no light to put on my makeup was a cherry on top.

I stay here quite often for business in Dublin always , clean , confetsbke and hassle free . Just this time there was no remote for the tv in the room , other than that , all good.

The room was spotless and the location is nice. Very limited car parking space in the front and back. The overnight street parking is free till 8 am, so you have to move your car or pay and display. I stayed in for a week and noticed that there was not a routine room service, so you have to ask for it, if you want your room doing. I understand the self check in and out process.
The extraction fan inbthe bathroom was not efficient (or may be was not working) hence everytime I took a shower the room turned into a sauna (room 107).
I have not dined there at all so I cannot comment on that.

The property was in a nice quiet area with space to park, but the bathroom wasn’t cleaned in the way that it should have been. All around the bottom of the shower and in the corners weren’t cleaned but I removed with toilet paper, and there were very long brown hairs around the toilet. Unfortunately you could feel the metal springs in the bed making it difficult to get comfortable.
We liked the ease of check in and out and outside of these issues the room had what we needed.
