Everything was perfect! We had one of the best experiences ever. The staff was all so kind and accommodating to our needs and asking what they could do for us. The place was super clean and was well stoked with anything you may need. They even had the BEST chocolates ever right by the front door. It was such a warm, friendly atmosphere and made our trip!

We arrived early on a chilly rainy day and were greeted by Marie and Anna. They offered us the sitting room and brought us coffee and tea cake! It was delicious! We left while they prepared the room. When we returned, we were led to a spotless room that was super cozy! Everything was clean and fresh. We enjoyed a wonderful hot shower. We left again to get some dinner and later returned to sleep in the most comfortable bed! We enjoyed coffee every morning. Marie even allowed us to wash some clothes and left the clean dry clothes on our room. It was a great stay!

Not sure why but most of the places we stayed in have one big puffy bed cover and in warm weather it’s too toasty so I think that a lighter option would be nice, and perhaps a little local map on the wall of street names, shops etc. Great place

The place is in an adorable multi-level Victorian house. The owner, the Marie was very gracious and helpful and even provided us with a lovely tray of tea and pastries when we arrived, we called taxis for us and gave advice for various things. It was also a pretty good location - - just a 3 minute walk from a bus stop that will take you to most places. Also, many of even though there's no hot breakfast, but there's a nice selection of yogurt, oatmeal, bread, boiled eggs, and fruit, and drinks, and etc available to all guests for no extra charge. The only disappointment is that there are no elevatoss and there's several steps climb, but depending on which room you're put in. (There's also no A/CS, but that seems to be the case for many places in Ireland.)

St. Aidan's guesthouse was an older Inn with so much charm! It was convienently situated close to many bus stops that could take you to the city center in 20-25 minutes. The room was tastefully decorated and had comfortable beds. There is a small, well-stocked kitchen for breakfast - we even bought some items and made supper there one evening. Over our 4 night stay, we met Anna and Emmitt - both of whom were very friendly and extremely friendly.

We were a little concerned when we arrived, rang the dorbell and no one seemed there. The lights were on but it took two rings and a long wait before the host unlocked the door. Then she seemed a bit confused about who we were, when we had made our reservation and actually thought we had checked in already earlier that day. The room was nice, had everything we needed. It was on the third floor of a very tight staircase so caryying luggage up and down was not easy. Location was convenient for groceries. Parking was on the street, but we were given a permit to put in the window. Breakfast items in the group kitchen were nice to have - things like cereal, toast, jelly, etc.

The guesthouse was clean and we liked the small kitchen that had things like toast, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs to quickly grab before heading out in the morning. Some things could use repair, like shower leaking outside of door, and common areas could use some updating (I.e. decor, torn sofas). The area was quiet, convenient to walkable nearby restaurants (try Lark in Terenure!), and easy to get to downtown Dublin by bus which is used by families and commuters too.

Beautiful, cozy old Georgian property just outside Dublin central. Advertised breakfast was continental self-serve only in a small cubby down the hall, had not served full since covid. Advert needs changing. Not fancy, not modern but homey, warm and welcoming. Our room was small and crowded with the bed for 2 and the single for our third person. Beds were comfortable and shower good. Not good for anyone not able to climb stairs or using a wheelchair. Loved the lounge and all the books available. Emmet was a fine host.

Subpar Stay: A Regrettable Visit
After finishing cooking seafood the previous night, the next morning while in my room, I overheard the female staff member, possibly the owner, yelling at the cleaning lady about the fish smell. She said, \"The fish smelled terrible. I don’t know where it’s coming from. It’s everywhere. She only stayed for one night.\" The cleaning lady assured her she was already dealing with it. Upon arrival the day before, I was shown around, and the guy mentioned I could use the kitchen for dinner. He also said if I needed anything, I could knock on the staff room door. Throughout my stay, I had to knock on the door for assistance with TV and stove issues, feeling guilty about bothering the owner repeatedly. With no reception desk, the only option was to knock for assistance. I discovered the kitchen was lacking utensils after I bought the seafood. Despite making cooking difficult, I had to cook the seafood I bought. I turned on the range hood, but it didn’t work well. Smoke filled the kitchen, with another guest pan-frying beef. The owner came in with a candle while we were in the kitchen, commenting on the fish smell. As I left my room in the morning, I wondered if I should apologize for the fish smell, but all I could smell was pan-fried beef. The owner's comments made me feel particularly uncomfortable, as if I wasn't welcome and had done something wrong. Overall, this was the worst stay experience I've had while traveling in Ireland.

One of the reasons I booked this place was b/c of the advertising of parking. There was paid street parking and I was told there was availability in an ally at the back of the house which I could never find. The shower was also a disappointment. The water never got hot and it had terrible water pressure.

The property is nice. Its close to the bus stop. I thought the reservation came with a full breakfast but i must have misread. They have cereal, yogurt and different individually wrapped cheese available in their little kitchen. One thing that would be nice is if they had a small table or shelf in the bathroom for toiletries.

The location is good. But the owner did not give me the booked room (comfort double room) but a box room, cold, damp with the heating that made a very loud noise. I was only moved to a better room after complaining. In this room the shower leaked and the hand shower could not be positioned. Overall I didn't like the owner's attitude. You don't get what you pay for.

Great spot if you are looking for somewhere on the south side. Approx 15-20 minute bus ride to the center of city. House is warm and clean and comfortable. There is no formal breakfast option but they do provide cereal etc. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay. We were received well and given a good intro into how St Aiden’s Guest House Operates. There is a guest kitchen and lounge where guests can get their own free continental breakfast and mingle with other guests. The bus is only 5 mins walk away.

We travelled as a couple visiting Dublin from the UK. We loved our stay at St. Aiden's Guesthouse. Our flight was delayed but having contacted the owner they were very understanding when we arrived much later than we planned. The room was clean and comfortable and there was a nice little kitchen help yourself to light breakfast snacks and they have a beautiful communal living room with books and entertainment (if you like 'Talledega Nights' you are in for a treat). The owner was so friendly and chatted to us about our onward travels around Ireland. We took advantage of the bus to and from town which only took 30 minutes or so. We loved our stay at St. Aiden's and wouldn't hesitate to return, it's a perfect, relaxing base from which to explore Dublin.

Nice spot south of the city center. Taxis weren’t too keen on coming this distance, but we managed. Cute place. Lovely common sitting room. Hosts were very accommodating. Shower hot water was tricky and unpredictable.

Very friendly place and service, good comms via email and telephone in answering my questions as we were a group. Nice quiet room at top of the house which was spacious and clean. had a fridge which was nice and a sitting room overlooking the front garden. we did some homework in there after our course nice open fire as it was a bit wet and cold. Also, there was a small kitchen which we didn't use but was a nice touch. Continental brekky was fab. we went to a lovely Lebanese restaurant about 5 7 mins walk away. and there is an Aldi which meant I had Tonic for my gin !! had a heater in the room which we moved into the bathroom as it got a little chilly. Shower was ok for me,not sure if I hogged the hot water but my roommate found hers was a bit cold. I'd happily stay again

A Home from Home in Dublin
Great choice of Guesthouse as transport into city center was easy to navigate. We were welcomed by Anna who always made sure we had everything we needed. Room was comfy and very clean. Only negative set of drawers in room very difficult to open as seemed wood was warped so really had to pull hard to open/close them. Would recommend and would stay here again Buy a visitor Leap pass which gives you unlimited use of public transport you can buy this at the airport. Different options available depending how long your stay is. Cost €20 for a 72 hr pass so we were able to use the number 16 from the airport which stops at the bottom of the street 5 min walk, to travel into the city take a bus from the top of the road 15, 15a, 15b, 65. On return bus from the city bus stops at the top of the street. House has use of a kitchen for snacks etc and also a good selection of cereal etc for breakfast.

At first the house seemed old and had a specific old wood smell but it turned out to be very comfy. We got a room facing the street and it was incredibly quiet. So quiet that we had to shut off the fridge :)

Cosy b&b too bad the breakfast is a tray delivered to the room with no hot food (eggs etc) other than that you have the pros (nice family environment, small but warm room, feels cosy) and the cons (noise insulation might not be the best, welcome to typical irish residential buildings. The area is close to a bus stop which will quickly bring you downtown but its not very lively per se.

My girlfriend and I had an extremely pleasant stay here. There's several great restaurants in the area and very close to a bus station that takes you directly to the city center. The owners were very courteous and for the price we thought we couldn't have stayed at a better place. Cheers!
