The Malmaison is a good hotel with good, quality rooms. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. However, the service in the restaurant and bar area is terrible. At breakfast, I was greeted and sat at a table but then ignored. This happened on every day of my stay and it wasn’t as though it was busy. In the evening the restaurant also had the same issues. As a business traveller this is not helpful as time is an issue. I would not stay here again just on this basis. A great place to stay but not for breakfast or dinner!

This is a really great hotel and excellent value too. My room had a balcony overlooking the marina and the staff were all very welcoming and highly professional. I particularly like the decor in this place - even the corridors are cool. I've stayed in a few Malmaison places and they always give each location a particular character making each one a memorable experience.

I checked in quite late and only just made last orders in the restaurant (by a few minutes) but no one tried to hurry me up and they gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu and place my order (Thanks Alfie :-) ). Normally I don't tend to eat in hotel restaurants as they can often be rather uninspiring (captive audience), but the food here is absolutely superb! My rare fillet steak was cooked to perfection and really delicious. The portobello mushrooms were juicy and full of flavour and the truffle parmesan fries were really outstanding. Absolutely full marks to the chefs. This was one of the best dinners I've had in a long time.

Wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and you absolutely have to eat in the restaurant. Just Magnificent. Well done everyone!

We had a lovely stay, starting with a warm welcome from the young lady at the desk. We decided to get sandwiches from the bar menu for a late lunch which were really tasty, reasonably priced and of generous size. We had a large, comfortable, quiet room, which meant we slept really well. Overall, another perfect stay. Thank you Malmaison.

We arrived and were able to check in early. Our double room was compact but, clean and all we needed for the night.
Complimentary water would have been nice.
Staff were polite and friendly. We know and like the area for a change from staying on the main seafront in town.
Easy access to buses and taxis.
Lovely comfortable bed and shower.

The staff were great on check in and helpful got us in our room and upgraded us which was a lovely gesture. Unfortunately when we asked to get some food in the bar we told there wasnt any and no snacks were available either, the vending machine wasnt working either then i found a manager and asked about food availability i was told 1045 pm i could get food .... barman didnt know ..... were offered spag bol frm microwave or ham and cheese sandwich opted fo that but only one was avaliable.... had it ,it was toasted , but taste less and definately not worth £9 or £2 for that matter!!! Was diappointed to say the least as there was nowhere open to get any food anywhere and we were hungry as had been out all day . Have been going to mal maison since it was the seattle, like going there as its relaxing and also free parking, never had any problems there wont stop me going back. Staff on check in faultless.

A few things, the bidding for a room upgrade isn’t worth it,
The Friday night we couldn’t sleep as the music from the bar down stairs was ridiculous loud and went on till nearly midnight and on both days the cooked breakfast was on the stood on the side for to long and wasn’t overly hot.

Fab location, easy access by bus to Brighton centre. Lots of restaurants around on the Boardwalk plus restaurant and bar inside the hotel, so everything is there plus an Asda opposite the marina. Love the deco inside the hotel and lovely rooms!! I would book again!

Free parking in the multistorey car park outside the hotel on level 6 so that is a bonus!

The view in the breakfast room is amazing especially on a sunny day!!

My first time staying and I was impressed by the room .. it was all I may have hoped for; utterly clean, contemporary, the shower room spotless; I slept very well as my room overlooked the harbour; on arrival the guy at reception was perfectly polite, efficient, as were the staff at breakfast; sadly, on leaving the person on reception held a lesser care, as if my attention was a distraction from her ‘other ‘ work .. BUT, I would happily stay again; I would recommend this place;

We had a sea view room with a balcony, it was spacious and everything we needed. My only gripe was the pillows were too soft but that is a completely personal preference and I didn’t investigate whether there was a pillow menu or not.

Check was smooth & very welcoming. Even a little treat of a cocktail for my birthday. Room was amazing, cracking view (was a shame about the weather but that can’t be helped)
Evening meal was delicious, shame the waitress didn’t know what she was doing or what we could order. Did leave us worried for the morning as made to sign an expensive bill.
Cocktails were lush & the bed was soooo comfy. Breakfast was again delicious & service a 1000% better.
Check out was easy & thankfully no large bill & the Lovley girl apologised for the night before. Deffo recommend the Malmaison when staying in Brighton. Stayed in a view Malmaison & this is the nicest to date.

Met by really welcoming reception staff. Our room was ready early which was a real bonus. Stayed in one of the signature suites which was lovely. Great balcony and view of the marina. Outside furniture covers could do with renewing and bathroom wasn’t very private in terms of the door left a large gap between the ceiling. Breakfast was well worth it and great choice. Overall had a thoroughly lovely time and would recommend.

Stayed 3 days and upgraded , the only reason the hotel gets good instead of excellent is the misleading prices in the bar and restaurant. The room 201 was excellent we had 2 minor issues that were dealt with promptly. They have a menu for their restaurant which shows daily specials charged at £19.50 with a drink , beer or Prosecco so we decided on the Friday fish n chips . We were the only ones in the restaurant service was great but the menus only showed Monday to Wednesday was £19.50 and Fish and chips were £24.50 , even on the sign outside the restaurant on the ground floor states £19.50, we enjoyed the food but the bill came to £55 not the £39 expected. The menu in the room and on the sign outside also showed the special on a Sunday was £19.50 but in the restaurant it says £29.50 !! I’m fine paying the price but don’t mislead ppl , please change the sign outside and the menu in the rooms to the correct price, plus the cocktails in the bar said £14 on the menu but charged £15 at the till. Great hotel great location amazing staff but please correct the menus to show the real price. Would we stay again? 100% .

Wonderful night's sleep in a great location!

First of all, the bed... OMG, how comfortable? The mattress, the pillows, the sheets - just wow! We did not want to get up. There was an issue with the bifold doors and Michaela from the cleaning staff got us a handyman, Jackie, within 5 minutes. A friendly, happy chap, he fixed it, coming back while we were out. The balcony and view of the marina was such a treat. The only issue we had was no EV charging points - the ones at ASDA are out of commission. Such a shame in a place that advertises as being green. Other than that, perfect. We will be back.

Worth the money. Very good location

Our start at the hotel was very good. Room with a view of Brighton Marina, multiple restaurants on the first floor.
The area was safe and very convenient to get buses to Brighton city center.
Cinema and car park nearby with pizza hut, McD, Starbucks also available.
Staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

When we walked into the hotel room, we both said wow!
Bed good night sleep, bathroom choice of raindrop or hand held showers, all bathroom requirements supplied.
Room had coffee machine and kettle plus various drinks and biscuits supplied.Tv had sky sports and terrestrial channels.
Outside veranda with seating and a bonus of veranda doors completely opened up giving a great view overlooking the marina from inside the room.
The room also benefitted from air conditioning.
Cannot comment on food as we ate out for all our meals.
Now we have stayed at another top hotel near the pier and we feel that the Malmaison hotel was so much better.

I was disappointed, I paid a reduced fee for an upgrade and now wish that I’d stuck to my original room. I found the bed uncomfortable, lumpy in places. The room wasn’t very clean, it had a dirty floor, my partners black top was covered in dust after we removed it from one of the high shelves. The seating had little bits of debris around the stitching and buttons. The bathroom and balcony were lovely. I was disappointed that there were too few supplies for our drinks, only 2 tea bags for 2 adults for the entire stay. The fridge was not working and didn’t keep anything cold. I was disappointed to have paid the amount of money that I did. I paid more as it was a special occasion and felt it was an average stay

It was my lack of research that I didn’t realise it was outside the centre of Brighton. The whole marina village area is quite soulless. However the rooms were super comfortable and quiet and you can catch the bus into town easily.

For nearly £1000 for 3 nights bed and breakfast I thought there would be a bit more 'care'. Room wasnt cleaned first day, air con didnt work properly despite reporting. Just OK.

We were visiting Brighton for a university open day and wanted a hotel with easy parking. Malmaison was suggested by Hotels.com, it was a little more than I'd normally pay but I'm glad I did. The location is right on the marina above a string of restaurants so your dining options are great: Prezzo, Zizzi, Nandos, Five Guys and more. There's also a Maccies and Pizza hut about 2 mins walk away and it is very close to an Asda. You can't miss the car park, it is the Marina multi-story which is totally free ) I assume to bring custom to the marina).

The hotel itself is very nice, modern, clean and spacious. The room was excellent, the TV had sky channels and the bathroom was very modern, with a wet room shower. The facilities included better quality tea and coffee than you normally get, such as fresh coffee bags and herbal teas. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because it was £22 a person, so we went to the Wetherspoons just outside the door which was really good for a fraction of the price.

Overall this hotel is exactly what I needed and good value. I'll probably be visiting Brighton again and would be happy to stay here.
