It’s ok. Older property. Thai style. My room had a flimsy balcony door. Wind rattled it all day and night. AC took an hour to cool the room. One advice: be careful leaving valuables in your room. It is not the staff I worry about. The rooms require physical keys. The keys are not unique. I found out about this by accident. You’ve been warned.

Great location, decent room size, restaurant at lobby, friendly staff. The negative is the wifi wouldn't even load. Had to use personal phone internet. If you need a good wifi find another place. If you don't need wifi, this is a great place to stay.

Nice hotel for the price. Clean, good a/c and good hot shower. My two complaints would be the pool furniture is very old and the wifi although it works ok in your room it doesn’t work at the pool. Also it kicks you out every so often and you need to sign back in. The hotel is In a good location.

Hotel and room was basic. Room has a nice balcony. WiFi is good. Location is good and close to the Beach Road and Soi Bukhao.

Service was not great though. Hotel would not provide spoon, bowl and plate. Powerpoint is over 5 metres away from the TV and hotel would not provide an extension cable which i had to buy myself. TV is old, signal is not good and the colour flickers.

Great hotel, shame about the internet

The Maytara Hotel is in an excellent location.
The rooms are large, spotless and furnished in teak, with safety box and kettle and coffee / tea.
There is a pool, which I did not use, and the rooms are quiet in the evenings.
The staff were extremely polite, cheerful and helpful.
The problem with my stay was the abysmal internet connection on the hotel WiFi.
The WiFi signal strength was very strong but the connection to the ISP was almost none existent, with speeds consistently varying between zero and 59 bytes/second. This is not fast enough to even log in to ones email account.
I had to use my phone as a WiFi hotspot to do emails on my laptop.
The restaurant over the street, meanwhile, had perfectly acceptable WiFi speeds.
I extended my stay by one day and the receptionist suggested that I book on the internet as it would be cheaper. I paid cash as the internet was too slow to make that booking.
I would strongly suggest the hotel management have a serious conversation with their internet provider.

The hotel is very centrally located for shopping and night life. The rooms are large, good tv service and bed very comfortable. Had 3 good night sleeps. No bars opposite room so no late night early morning music. Unfortunately you can only service one electronic device with their WIFI at once. So cannot connect IPad and phone together

I loved the ease of checking in. Reasonable check in and out time. The rooms were clean, (Cleaning service was good) and had unique decor. Great bathrooms. No real complaints. Accept maybe the chairs in the rooms being very uncomfortable.

Lovely little hotel right in the centre of Pattaya. The staff are very friendly but their English skills are limited. There is building work going on on two sides of the hotel. This and Second Road, can be a little obtrusive during the day. The pool is pleasant but compact. The rooms are spacious with huge walk-in showers in the spotless bathrooms. The bed was huge and very comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay at the Maytara: it's a good value choice and the 24 hour restaurant literally on the doorstep is very convenient

Lovely little hotel right in the middle of Pattaya. Staff are very friendly but their English skills are limited. The rooms are large, the beds are wonderfully comfortable and the restaurant at the front of the hotel is open 24 hours. Everything is good except for the mesquitos in the rooms. Would wake up loaded with bites. Complained to the front desk and a girl would go to the room and spray. Have stayed here many times and the staff is great. It appears management does not care. Never See.

Location is excellent with 3 large shopping malls only mins away
Hotel itself is good with Thai Decor throughout. Ground floor rooms open directly to pools. 24 hr cafe does great food. Wifi a little hit and miss though. Great staff.

Two things of note that could be improved

Curtains could be better at keeping light out
The edge of the door also allowed a lot of light in

Me being a troublesome sleeper found it an issue at times

Location of the Hotel is fantastic

A short 300 metre walk to Beach Rd
A short 400 metre walk to LK Metro
A short 400 metre walk to Central Festival

So the area is in prime location

I found i needed a baht bus much less this trip and I put it down to location

Says free wifi BUT not true at all ! When I complained they just couldn’t care less , the aircon was faulty and needed cleaning of the filters which I asked but they didn’t do and then it broke down ! Rooms are very hot inside so aircon needs to run all day . I wouldn’t waste my time going there again

Good position, staff great and always helpful.
Group of golfers so access needed for pickup, set down. Pool great and clean and good sun so warm for swimming. wifi in rooms good but not great. in lobby very good access. can be noisy in mornings but not a problem. All of our group enjoyed the hotel and staff attitude and would recommend the hotel. There is no porter so expect to carry your own luggage to the room but for the price acceptable. 4 levels, 1 with pool access, elevator to other levels all with pool views.

Basic hotel in the heart of pattaya

This is a pretty basic hotel located in central pattaya. I stayed in a ground floor room which features a sliding door to the long rectangular lap pool. Everything worked okay. Original room they gave me had a loud humming sound coming from the vent fan in the bathroom. It could not be turned off. I asked for another room. Walls aren't well insulated, so you will hear noises from your neighbors.
Also, when I checked in, they misplaced my hotel reservation.. took them about a half hour to find it. Don't know what happened there.
Restaurant in front of lobby has a varied menu and is open most hours.

In the heart of everything.

Ive now stayed at the Maytara over 6 times and even though in the past we always stayed at Hotels 4 star plus we feel this offers almost as much but at half the price. And as I put a huge importance in a pool I find the poolside room is great. You have to go a long way to find staff that treat you you as good as these ones. Honestly the service and that you get here is 2nd to none.

Maytara is horrible. Check in a joke - can't find reservation and then no one to help with luggage. Room was filthy - dirt everywhere and noise from construction all day and night. No security. Had to beg to get room cleaned. And checkout was worse - again no one to bring luggage to lobby and I had to take my own luggage to the taxi. And I was charged 100 baht because the bed was dirty - even though it was dirty when I checked in. Pitiful hotel - no management - money grubbing incompetent personnel - makes for a horrid, horrid stay. V

Room is spacious. Nice location to food, shopping and it is only a few minutes walk to Walking Street. Has a 24 hours restaurant link to the hotel ( note rest do not belong to hotel ) which is great whenever you are hungry. Room has most of the sports channel. Overall a very basic hotel but with a good location.Will stay here again for my next trip.

Friendly and honest staff..brought me my iPhone accidentally left in safe at checkout. Nice rooms with Thai furniture and feel. Simple but nice. Only issue was pool is over chlorinated and could not use it after first day. They just throw in handfuls of pellets and don't seem to monitor the level. Unsafe practice. We wanted a place with a pool,so this was a letdown. Pretty central location but not most attractive. Good value for the money but a few tweaks will make it much better. Wifi is really weak. Be prepared to unplug.

The patio outside the room is very quiet. You would not know you were in the centre of Pattaya.

Big Drop in quality Service!!!

Fourth time staying here, prior times were great. However this stay was very disappointing and will never stay again. Big disappointment in front desk staff. Used to be smiles all the time but now hardly seen any. Young man behind desk I had to wake up most of the time to get key, always sleeping behind desk with headphones on. When I checked out early in the morning I had to wake him up again, he went to check the room and he came back telling me I had to pay 200 baht for some blood on sheet. I told him it was from mosquito bites, I told him that maid had windows in room wide open when cleaning. He replied he did not care I still had to pay 200 baht. I will be coming back to Pattaya in 9 months and will find somewhere else to stay.

I have stayed in pattaya 30? Times. Avani (Marriott), fourteen again, view talay 6, Hilton, golden ville, etc. and this rates out pretty solid.

Pros: clean/comfortable room, not too noisy of an area (even though is in the heart of it all), very good/affordable restaurant downstairs (actually had eaten there many times before staying here) perfect location and great price (~35-40usd/night) plus free wifi

Cons: pool is a bit small and no gym if these matter to you. Front desk staff were super. Ice but their English wasn't so great...no problem for me as I don't need any help usually.

For the price/location/cleanliness for a single traveler this place is tough to beat.

It was a good experience to stay at Maytara. Nice Swimming pool and central location of the hotel is the highlight of this place.

Very near to night bazaar and just 5 mins walk to the beach with many good malls located nearby made our stay useful.

Shower mixer cant control the temp of the water.

Hotel is centrally located on 2nd Road between Mike's Shopping Mall and Tripp's Bazaar. Just a 8 minute walk to Central Festival Mall. Restaurants and other eateries are nearby. Room is fairly good sized that is kept clean daily by the housekeeping staff. Comfortable bed and very helpful front desk staff.

Beware of staffs...

The stay was good, except the reception service and the staffs attitude.

Beware, please dont book the taxi through this hotel, they may not take any responsiblity for your booking except the profit. Here is the story....

On the last day of Pattaya we booked the taxi through hotel reception for the Pattaya UTP airport, on the half way of travel that we understand the taxi was going to the wrong direction. I checked with the driver and he respond to me that we are heading towards Bangkok airport. After a big discussion with Driver he agree to return to Pattaya, but he ask for addtional 700 THB, which I couldnt accept and I told him that it is the mistake by hotel and I paid 1100 THB for this trip, and I got to know that he only get paid 600 THB out of 1100 THB. I ask driver to explain the situation to Hotel and get paid for the mistake they did. Taxi driver was so helpful and he argue with them the maximum of his level to get paid of at least remaining to drop us to Pattaya but the reception girls are not agree to loose single bhat out of their profit for this grave mistake, instead they advised to the taxi driver to bring us back to the hotel so we go by ourself with another taxi where we are having only 2 hours to flight and we are almost 90 KM away from the airport. Even after I had long argument with them but no use, finally the taxi driver was so kind to accept addtional 500 THB to drop us to the airport.

Two thumbs up on this modern hotel with great staf

This hotel is hidden in plain sight. The sign out front says Maytara, but not hotel, so it looks more like a restaurant from the front. Modern construction, very comfortable beds, perfect air con. The bar noise at night is not too bad, the loudspeaker from the shopping mall next door blasting promotions is only for a half hour or so. Housekeeping is very friendly and attentive. I downright hate having a heavy polyester comforter on the bed, it's too hot and musty. She was able to provide a comforter cover without all that polyester insert stuff, very happy. Front desk staff always cheerful and helpful. Instead of a hotel lobby, there is a restaurant that stays busy. Suggest you stay with the Western dishes as the Asian-Thai dishes a totally lacking in spice and flavor. One man at the next table got tom yam soup which should have a little kick to it, and he commented the soup was quite bland. For fear of over-spicing food for foreigners, they should just ask your preference for spice. One young man working the restaurant is on a mission to consume as many cigarettes as humanly possible. There is a narrow set of pools on the side, one deep and one shallow. Swam a few laps and the water was very clean and clear. Highly recommend this property. Enjoyed the large balcony and rain shower.

Location is great and the room seemed modern and clean until I went to bed and couldn't sleep as something was constantly biting me on my legs and feet and then I woke up with very itchy feeling and boils that you get from any bites, I couldn't see any on the bed but it there was obviously something in the bed. Also there's no security outside the hotel so kinda felt unsure leaving the luggage in the hotel on it's own and they don't even guarantee any assistance or responsibility if anything gets stolen, we changed the hotel after 1 night stay here mainly because of the above 2 reasons.

Clean Room, Value For Money

The hotel locate about 10 min walk to Central Festival. It has a long but narrow swimming pool. Yet it is enough to allow swim for few lapse. Not like some hotel only has a little swimming pool that only allow to dim inside yet unable to swim. The room is clean. Every evening when I return my room, it is always done cleaning and tidy up. At night the hotel is not noisy hence allow to have a good and cozy sleep.

Small but stylish and comfortable hotel

The Maytara is a small but well designed and comfortable hotel with a good location in central Pattaya. The best things about this place is the pool, large rooms, high ceilings pleasant view from the patio, quiet, great duo shower head (rain fall and handheld), and the bed is the best I think I've ever slept on. Only complaint is the lift is on the far end of this long hotel opposite the entrance area. The pool is small and narrow but is long enough to swim laps and therefore very functional and not just a dipping pool like most others that even have a pool in this town. Overall, the style/design and comfort of this place makes it a winner in my opinion.
