Probably our 5th RIU and looking forward to more. Staff always great. Food includes Lobster, Quality Steaks, Shrimp, Salmon and huge range of desserts & drinks (some premium).

Lots of activities and entertainment.

RIU does not do the nickel and diming like some other resorts where they set up higher Tier levels to get the things RIU offers to all their guests.

Relaxing time where you don't have to carry your wallet around everywhere.

The RIU parties (Neon, Foam, Jungle, White...) are a level above any other resort I've seen yet.

Yes, the cost is a bit higher but you get what you pay for.

Fun fact: Still grateful to RIU (Costa Rica) (and Sunwing) last year where they extended our stay for free as the Rain did not allow us to fly out for days. All details were taken care for us to ensure our safe and happy return.

We stayed one week at the Riu Palace with family and friends and overall had a great experience. I shared a swim-up pool room with my girlfriend, and the biggest standout was the cleanliness. This was honestly one of the cleanest resorts I’ve ever stayed at 5/5. Staff constantly cleaned. The food was another huge highlight. I’m normally not a buffet person, but the buffet here was excellent — some of the best resort food I’ve had. Family and friends enjoyed the specialty restaurants too. Food gets another 5/5.
The value for the money was definitely worth it, especially with access to the Santa Fe and Baja California resorts.
Customer service 3.8/5 was mostly good, but communication could sometimes be difficult because limited staff spoke enough English to assist with questions. The resort is also very large, and the maps could definitely be improved because elevators and floors were confusing at first.
The biggest downside was the Wi-Fi. It was unreliable throughout the Palace resort, making remote work nearly impossible and draining phone batteries.
As for entertainment, the resort becomes very quiet at night. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, but my girlfriend wished there were more adult-oriented evening activities. Many late-night shows focused on children’s entertainment, while themed parties were geared toward a younger crowd.
Overall, I would absolutely return for the amazing food, cleanliness, relaxing atmosphere, and overall value.

The staff here at Riu Palace were awesome. From the time we got there til the time we left. We came for my 50th birthday and when I had returned to my room on my birthday they left me a little birthday cake 🎂 on the table.
The bartenders were good some better than others,I would definitely suggest asking for extra liquor in the drinks. Everyone there at Riu always said hello when in passing. The restaurants were good,but the Italian restaurant was my favorite. The Riu party was a lot of fun just wished the staff would cut off people when you can easily see they were intoxicated. 18yrs old is the drinking age,so these young adults don't know how to drink. It was shot after shot after shot for the young kiddos. The views were breath taking. We had a junior suite with partial view over looking the pool and Sea of Cortez.
The shows at the Santa Fe were better then the Palace shows. The only complaint I really have was the bed. My bed was a bit to firm for our liking, but that's our opinion. We booked a few guided tours with Grayline,I don't think I'd book through them again. We paid 400.00 to swim with the dolphins,the they charged us 239.00 for the pictures, we also went down to see The Hotel California they didn't even mention that it was actually closed. They had jewelry and shirt stands there instead. I just think grayline kinda robbed us. I don't recommend using them. Hotel Riu Palace was great,I'd definitely book there again.

I have been staying at the Riu Palace since 2018. Every time is wonderful. The staff is amazing and if you need anything they are always getting things done in a timely manner. Great nighttime entertainment and the pool is always clean and beautiful. 10/10 would recommend

We were here for a family vacation and it’s a great place for both families with kids and adults. The rooms are clean but we did see a few mosquitos (which i understand) but it was just annoying because with babies and mosquito bites. The restaurants are ok, plan to arrive early because they do stop taking more

Solo Traveler Review

This resort is not a good fit for solo travelers. It caters more to families and younger groups seeking a party atmosphere. Based on my experience, I would not return.

The main issue was the front desk staff, whose behavior was unprofessional and insulting. I asked about purchasing a guest pass so a longtime friend in Cabo, a hardworking single mother in real estate, could join me for the afternoon and evening. I was told yes and paid both a fee and a deposit.

When we arrived at 5 PM, we were told she could only stay for one hour. Staff initially denied receiving my deposit until I identified the employee who took it, at which point it was suddenly “found.”

More concerning, front desk staff spoke in Spanish assuming I would not understand and referred to my friend as a sex worker, suggesting I would bring more women back. This was false, disrespectful, and embarrassing.

I came to work and write a solo travel review, but the experience fell short. I found other places that were more affordable, welcoming, and where I felt safe, even late at night.

Overall this was a good value resort experience. However, the rooms are really worn need a lot of attention. As with many beach resorts there is a strong mildewy smell in the rooms, but beyond that the bathroom mirrors in both our rooms were chipped and stained with black spots that at first looked like dirt. There were no bathrobes, and the bedding was just two thin sheets with optional thin wool blanket. No comforters. The food was not amazing, but passable. The best meals we had were the lunch buffet at the Italian restaurant, and the steakhouse dinner. The Japanese restaurant got such bad reviews we never even tried it. The grounds and the view were amazing and we never had an issue finding four beach loungers together with shade even when we only came down to the pool at noon. Drinks were solid and all the waiters, pool boys, housekeeping and baristas and bartenders were lovely and so helpful. It's nice to have access to the other sister resorts, especially for nighttime entertainment variety, and we liked that there were two main pool areas, one busy and loud with activity, and one quiet for reading and talking with your family. $5 ubers into downtown Cabo were also a great perk we should have used more often. Be prepared for lots of walking and lots of stairs, but that helps to offset all the calories you will eat!

Firstly, the staff are rude and the manager is not accommodating at all. We booked an ocean view and instead got a garden suite because apparently \"RIU gets to pick the rooms\" despite us paying more for an ocean view.

Secondly, the name on the reservation did not match what RIU had even though we showed them the booking but nope, the manager claimed Expedia and Riu don't update their profiles immediately which makes no sense because our Expedia booking showed the correct name.

Nonetheless, checking in was awful a waste of 2 hours and we ended up paying an additional $1500 because they could not find our booking and claimed they would refund us subsequently.

the service is awful, the manager is rude, and the staff are slow and the food is okay, at best.

The rooms were very clean, the staff everywhere were so friendly! They all worked very hard, and yet always happy and so willing to treat you like royalty! My only small complaint were the amount of birds around the outdoor tables at the buffet, I know a hard thing to control, but if dishes were left to long, the birds would swarm! I also noticed them on the servers station on the water jugs ect. But I must say, the food was excellent! We were there with our family, including a 15 and 16 year old, tuff age, but they found not any others in there age group, possibly the time of year? We were there after spring break. Overall, an amazing place, and we plan on returning!

Where to begin?!! This was our 2nd visit/stay at the RUI Palace. We’ve had a Swim Up Suite both times. It is definitely worth the cost difference for the pool, hands down. The rooms with swim-ups are for 18+ however. I would like to address that during this visit we had encountered a very confrontational and extremely loud, belligerent family.. the staff at the RUI took care of everything respectfully, to the book and without incident. All the staff were attentive, and very caring. Everyone is extremely helpful, polite and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. During this trip, we also got engaged!! Super special memories were made in a place we hold dear to our hearts. We will be back and would recommend RUI to everyone. There are other RUI’s close to the Palace as well that you can walk to and check out if you were up for it. There is everything you’d ever need and want on the resort’s property if you’d rather not leave. But if you did, there is always a ride ready for you! It’s about $16-$20 to ride to the Marina w/out the tip, and there, the charters and tours depart. There are shops, amazing restaurants, pharmacies and Farmers Markets. We always felt safe and enjoyed IT ALL. Thanks RUI

The pools were very nice but the water needs to be fuller so that it reaches the pool filters to help keep it clean. Also water needs to be full so that it goes over the infinity areas. They need a falconer to help keep away all the birds such as seagulls and pigeons as there is to many of them. We shared this idea with Gerardo which was a lovely gentleman who worked there :) on your steep steps up to the lounge area you might wanna add railings in the middle to help with the more mature people who need the stability. Over all this was a lovely place to stay.

Very large pools so lots of space for everyone. I wish they were a little more full of water so the infinity edge had actual water going over and no ledge before it. Resort was extremely clean. Food was great especially the Italian place but the restaurants were closed some night and no warnings for when they would be closed till the day of. The room service was the worst part. I ordered at 9pm and had to go to bed just after midnight and it hadnt arrived yet. I texted on the app at 10:30 asking how long and got the response it was moments away. All my future texts didn't get a response. We got a junior suite with the swim up option and the pool was very well kept and nice to have to cool off in the evening.

Rooms and amenities were clean and well kept. Pools were ok. You need to choose one that better suits you. They have a calm adult swim up pool bar or a loud rowdy swim up bar. The specialty restaurants need to switch up the menus. Everyday same menu like the buffet menu. View from our room was very nice looking at ocean and ships coming and going. Entertainment at RIU Palace could improve, Not the greatest. Will probably give it another go to see if anything has changed.

We were very disappointed with our experience at Riu Palace Cabo, primarily due to how our concerns were handled by the lobby staff.

We reported a significant mosquito problem in our room and requested a room change, but our complaints were completely disregarded.
Even after showing them the bug bites on my daughter, the only response we received was a brief apology with no effort to resolve the issue or accommodate us.
This lack of responsiveness and care was frustrating and not what we expected from a resort of this standard.
On a positive note, the ground staff and restaurant teams were hardworking, attentive, and did their best to provide good service. Their efforts did not go unnoticed and were appreciated.
Overall, while some parts of the experience were good, the poor handling of a genuine concern by the front desk left us feeling let down.

The property was beautiful, food and staff were great, we love being by the beach only issue is not enough chairs and/or shade, ocean can be rough so have to be a good swimmer, if you like pools they were ok, I found they didn’t have enough water in them so they didn’t skim properly but they did a decent job keeping them as clean as possible. The water feature in front of my room was not working, the mattresses on the beach cabanas were dirty, cabanas are an additional fee but at least you get good perks. Food was ok, the lunch buffet has minimal variety. This was my first all inclusive in Cabo and I would not do again but did love the location and miles of sand to take long walks.

I really wanted to love this place, but after our stay I walked away with some serious mixed feelings and I am honestly not sure I would return. The staff was absolutely excellent and every person we encountered was friendly and attentive, and the views from the property were also quite beautiful. The coffee bar was fantastic and quickly became our favorite spot each morning. However, the hotel food was disappointing and fell well below what we expected. The better on-site restaurants had very limited seating and operated within short windows, which created a situation where guests were standing in line waiting for dinner at 4:30 in the afternoon, which is not the relaxing vacation experience anyone hopes for. The family pool was freezing cold and guests were allowed to claim the already limited lounge chairs by simply placing a towel on them even when they were nowhere around, making it nearly impossible to find a spot for your belongings. The adult pool was a much better experience and we recommend heading there instead. The mattresses in the rooms felt like sleeping on concrete slabs, making it very hard to get a decent night of rest after a long day. There are some enjoyable elements here but between the food, the dinner lines, the pool situation, and the uncomfortable beds, it is hard to give a strong recommendation and I am not sure we would make the trip back.

Overall the property was average, the staff are amazing. Kind and attentive. The property definitely needs an upgrade including the pools. The food at the buffet was amazing. However, the speciality restaurants did not have the best food. I became ill for 2 days. Which is a first as I've travelled to Mexico many times. For our stay we wished that we had more options other than the buffet. For lunch we had Pepe's and had some delicious tacos! I tried the spa and the amenities were great. I'd give this resort 3/5.

We loved hanging out in the pool area, eating tacos from the outside grill or the lunch buffet and stopping by the outdoor bar from time to time. They always have something going on and you can go to the Santa Fe and do the wsterslides if yiu have kids.

We went only to the adult pool. Got good service but when getting a drink, it was like asking a robot. He did it but I dont like an eye roll

We really enjoyed our stay. The pool is amazing! And the entertainment team were phenomenal! Never a dull moment we love them! They were very engaging, the room needs more update. The food choices were amazing! And the waiters felt like becoming our family. They are all amazing! And Flor from the buffet we will surely missed her. The only downside is the check in, he was on rush to check us in, never explain the where we can find the foods, we were so hungry when we arrive didnt even offer any drink during check in process. Spa was okay. Overall we love our time! Will come back soon!

Swim up bar and the bar staff are amazing so are the servers at breakfast. We can't wait to go back again.
