Hotel Histórico Central was truly the heart of our Mexico City adventure. The location couldn’t be better, just 2–3 blocks from the Zócalo and surrounded by incredible historical sites. Tour buses to outside excursions and the Touribus all meet right in that area, making it the perfect home base for exploring.

The hotel itself felt clean, elegant, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The staff was exceptional; warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping us navigate the city. Arturo and Jair were absolute standouts. Their kindness, attentiveness, and top tier service made every meal feel special. The breakfast service food was good. The menu had several options, it was made to order, hot, savory and it was safe. Tip, ask for salsa! It was delicious.

One of the biggest highlights was the 24 hour “free” food service. It was unbelievably helpful after long days in the city. Besides breakfast, throughout the day there were sandwiches, pizza, soups, salads, and more. Many nights we ended our day with a light dinner right at the hotel. My father especially loved coming down each evening for a sandwich, soup, salad, and hot tea to unwind after exploring.

Every night, returning to the hotel felt like coming home. We felt safe, cared for, and genuinely treated like family. This hotel played a huge part in making our trip unforgettable.

Thank you to everyone at Hotel Histórico Central for an amazing experience. We can’t wait to return.

Excellent hotel! The location is perfect and within walking distance everything in centro histórico. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, and the coffee bar was a wonderful bonus. Tucked in the middle of central historic Mexico City was this place. Even when our Uber was dropping us off staff was running out into the street to help us with our suitcases. The gal checking us in was beyond amazing and sweet. Our room was big and gorgeous with a view of the street. There were fresh apples at every hotel floor with a fridge of freshwater everywhere. Made to order breakfast was included and was delicious and checkout was at noon. The bed was super comfortable they were blackout curtains and an amazing coffee maker. The fridge was filled with soda and had room for more stuff if we wanted. My favorite part was the friendly and gracious staff. I 1000% would stay here again♥️

Overall this is a pretty good hotel. Highlights are the included breakfast to order, the 24 hour on site Cafe which is complimentary, and the very helpful staff. The hotel is well maintained and tastefully decorated. The room and bed were very comfortable. The downsides included a very small, impractical gym (which some may not care about) and TERRIBLE wifi. I'm not sure if it was just the room we were in or if it's a common issue but we had to switch to data to use our mobiles and doing anything on my laptop was an exercise in frustration. I told the front desk and was told they are \"working on it\" so I assume that means they are aware of the issue. As a side note, and not the hotels fault, there were large government protests at the Zocalo while we were there. This resulted in a tent camp right outside the hotel which stunk and the closure of the surrounding streets around our hotel for blocks. So catching Uber or other transport meant walking several blocks from the hotel each time. Same for drop off when returning to the hotel. We were always dropped several blocks away and had to walk to the hotel. I have now been caught in 3 different government protests while staying in the Zocalo zone on various visits. I won't stay in that zone again. Again, not the hotels fault but still super annoying and inconvenient.

Una estancia excepcional de principio a fin. Todo el personal del hotel fue increíblemente atento, amable y servicial. Desde los bell boys, recepción, camareras y el personal del café y desayuno, todos hicieron que nos sintiéramos bienvenidos y atendidos en todo momento.

La habitación fue muy cómoda, con excelentes amenidades, una cama y almohadas que garantizaron un gran descanso. Un detalle que realmente apreciamos fue la disponibilidad de agua embotellada y manzanas en todos los pisos, además del café, bebidas y snacks de cortesía disponibles las 24 horas del día.

La ubicación es inmejorable, en el corazón del Centro Histórico, con fácil acceso caminando a restaurantes, tiendas, museos, la Catedral Metropolitana, el Zócalo y el Palacio de Bellas Artes.

Durante toda nuestra estancia nos sentimos seguros y disfrutamos cada momento. Histórico Central combina un servicio excepcional, comodidad y una ubicación privilegiada. Sin duda volveremos a hospedarnos aquí en nuestra próxima visita a la Ciudad de México. Altamente recomendado.

Everything at the Hotel Hisctorico Centro is PERFECT: the staff is beyond helpful, the breakfast was amazing, the room was comfortable and clean clean clean! The bathroom is very nice (important for me) with a great shower and plenty of hot water. They provide bottled water in a fridge on every floor of the hotel for you to take as much as you need. HUGE PLUS is the 24 hour cafe and sandwich shop where all items are free for those staying at the hotel. AMAZING. The location is perfce for walking and exploring the historic district of Mexico City with many museums and restaurants and coffee shops. Have fun and STAY at this hotel. We can't wait to return. It is our favorite hotel ever, anywhere!

I'd stayed here for a week a few years ago and I was impressed then, only to find things have even managed to improve since then. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The 24-hour cafe is always awesome, and while I was unable to catch breakfast this trip due to my airport ride showing up extra early, I'm sure it's still excellent as well. With the benefit of a central location and additional amenities such as bottled water on every floor, this hotel is a no-brainer. Highly recommended.

Didier y Armando, quienes nos recibieron en la entrada del hotel, fueron excepcionales: atentos, serviciales y con una enorme amabilidad que hizo que nuestra experiencia comenzara de la mejor manera. Se nota cuando alguien disfruta su trabajo y realmente se preocupa porque los huéspedes se sientan cómodos y especiales.

Durante los 4 días que estuvimos hospedados, el servicio fue impecable. Jair, en el área de cocina, merece una mención especial por su increíble carisma y atención. Cada mañana nos ofrecía café y pan con tanta amabilidad y cercanía que parecía que nos conocíamos de toda la vida. Personas así hacen una gran diferencia en cualquier viaje y convierten una estancia normal en una experiencia verdaderamente memorable.

Andrea en recepción también fue excelente: siempre amable, profesional y dispuesta a ayudar en todo momento con una sonrisa. Y aunque no recuerdo el nombre de todos los empleados, sinceramente TODO el personal fue extraordinario. Cada persona con la que tuvimos contacto nos trató con respeto, calidez y una atención de primer nivel.

Las instalaciones estaban impecables, muy limpias, cómodas y cuidadas en cada detalle. El ambiente del hotel es acogedor, tranquilo y perfecto para descansar y disfrutar.

Definitivamente es uno de los mejores servicios que hemos recibido en un hotel. Se siente la calidad humana de todo el equipo y eso vale muchísimo. Súper recomendado al 100

Staff: Everyone was so friendly and professional and always there to help you in any way. Great smiles!

Location: We wanted to stay in the historic area. This is right in the heart of it. Safe area and vibrant exciting area. We walked all over the area. With Uber, you can go anywhere like La Condesa, Norte Roma, Reforma or pretty much anywhere with easy ride.

Hotel: The room is perfect (size, amenity, shower etc.). Super clean and comfortable bed. Nice AC. The breakfast was fantastic with a variety of menu. 24 hour coffee is awesome (most items included in the hotel room price we had).

Overall: We could not ask for a better hotel in Mexico City. If we ever go back, this is the hotel we stay.

I reserved a room at Historico Central Hotel specifically to check in at 6 AM after a very early flight, just to get a couple hours of sleep before the 1 PM checkout time.

We left the room at 1:08 PM. Before heading downstairs, we sat for a few minutes in the seating area by the elevator that each floor provides, where the hotel offers complimentary water. After finishing our water, we went directly to the front desk to check out.

The front desk woman didn’t greet us at all. Instead, in a very rude and almost sinister tone, she immediately told us we would be charged an 800 MXN late fee because we were not physically at the front desk exactly at 1 PM. What made it worse was overhearing her do the exact same thing to another guest shortly after. It genuinely felt like she enjoyed penalizing guests.

I understand hotels have checkout policies, but charging nearly 40% of the room rate because guests arrive to the lobby a few minutes late despite already being out of the room, is excessive, unreasonable, and unacceptable.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t our only issue. The first room we were given had an overwhelming urine smell. The odor was so strong that we could not stay in the room longer than a couple of minutes and had to request another room immediately.

The second room was better, but the shower water temperature constantly fluctuated while showering.

The hotel does offer complimentary snacks and drinks in the attached cafe, but most of the menu was unavailable. Beware.

Our stay at the Historicó Central Hotel in Mexico City was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcomed and cared for. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our entire stay.
The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Every morning we enjoyed the fresh breakfast, which had a great variety and was always delicious. One of our favorite touches was the coffee bar and snack section — having complimentary snacks, drinks, beer, coffee, and refreshments available throughout the day made the experience feel extra special.
The location was perfect, just steps away from the Zócalo and so many historic attractions, making it easy to explore the city. We were also celebrating my son’s graduation during our visit, and the hotel staff went above and beyond to make it memorable by surprising us with balloons and elegant chocolates in the room. It was such a thoughtful gesture that truly meant a lot to our family.
We also appreciated the daily touches like cold bottled water and fresh apples always available for guests. Every detail reflected the hotel’s commitment to hospitality and guest comfort.
I highly recommend Histórico Central Hotel to anyone visiting Mexico City. It combines outstanding service, an unbeatable location, and thoughtful amenities that make you feel right at home. We will definitely return!

The only issues we had were with some of the staff in the cafe, they seemed to have a very poor attitude with us specifically after hearing us speak english. One person in specific was A woman by the name Itzel, she had a very condescending tone anytime she answered our questions and it didnt make us feel very comfortable/welcome, The rest of the staff however were very helpful and happy to answer our questions!

The hotel is pretty central to the historic area so most things were walking distance or a short ride away. The front desk staff was kind and offered help always. The breakfast was decent but a bit inconsistent at times. We had the chilaquiles and the top half of it was warm whereas the bottom half was cold. The only “issue” I had was the cafe staff. Some of the girls were a bit rude, rolled their eyes at me, and laughed when I didn’t say certain things correctly in spanish. Other than that, for the price of the hotel, the amenities and the location made it worth it!

Amamos este hotel la ubicación es lo mas preciado a pasos de Bellas Artes, El Zocalo, El Palacio de Gobierno y mucho mas. El staff del hotel de lo mas amables.
