I was notified two days before my arrival that there were protests outside the hotel, and that I should exercise caution approaching the facility. I was told that vehicles would not be able to approach the hotel and I would need to walk from a nearby intersection through the protests to get to the hotel. I asked to cancel the reservation for a refund, but my request was refused because I was told the hotel was still operating and offering it’s normal services. The staff offered to have the bellboy escort me to and from the nearest point where I could take a taxi or uber. Given the totality of the circumstances,I was concerned for my safety so I booked at a different hotel. I was charged for the night. I am deeply disappointed by the hotels unwillingness to accommodate my request.

The inside of the hotel was clean and so were the rooms however the staff was very cheap on providing additional towels. We were given two per room. If anyone travels with a woman, we’re all aware that women typical use 2 towels, one for their hair and one for their body. The towels were also super old, and the quality was really rough. Lastly, the hotel failed to mention the Main Street was blocked off due to protesters. It was really unpleasant walking through people sleeping in tents outside of hotel. It was uncomfortable and unclean.

The hotel itself is in a very good area. It's walking distance to the Zocalo and many restaurants, Starbucks, and stores. The Palacio de Bellas Artes is literally across the street. You can see several city highlights within a mile or two of the hotel. The rooms are narrow but very modern and comfy. We were a family of four and it was great. The mini fridge in the room is refilled by staff with water, snacks, soft drinks and beer courtesy of the hotel. All hotel staff was very helpful and attentive. The only downside, which was out of the hotel's control, was the \"tent city\" of teachers who happen to be protesting during our trip. They were camped out along the front of the hotel and businesses. However, this was only a short lived eye sore as it didn't impact our trip at all. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Mexico City.

We couldn’t stay at this hotel since there were a lot of manifestations happening outside the hotel. There were camps outside blocking the entrance. It was a huge disappointment, since we really wanted to stay around this historic area.

The national teachers union had thousands of their members staying in tents around the hotel and the surrounding area. They were justifiably unhappy about their scandalously low wages and changes to their pensions.

The protesters were exceptionally nice people and the hotel staff maintained a respectful atmosphere in a challenging environment. I can’t say enough nice things about the young man who carried my bag for two blocks to pick up my Uber to the airport. Terrific service on his part.

Belle Artes should be proud of their entire staff that showed up for work every day.Im sure it wasn’t easy. From housekeeping to the front desk;great job!

We stayed in this beautiful hotel. The staff was very polite and extremely helpful. While we arrived to the city, there were unforeseen circumstances that presented themselves In the area that affected the outside of the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and escorted us to the hotel to avoid any troubles outside.
The property was very clean and beautiful. The location of the hotel is very close to everything.

We stayed here on a 21 hr layover and were not disappointed,
Hotel Bellas Artes is central to everything we wanted to explore in the short time we had in Mexico City. We don't tend to be heavy users of in hotel services, so this review is based on how we travel.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel the service by the staff was excellent and they were helpful when we wanted to find out where something was or arranging a taxi.

Our room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom floor is heated which is a plus for getting out of the shower. My only thing was that the lighting for the mirror over the sink was not that great for doing makeup (this seems to be occurring in more an more hotels as I travel) and as I'm five foot nothing, mirrors and hanging hooks and clothes rods are higher than I could comfortably reach. Loved the little Juliet balconies so we could step out and observe what was going on outside.

We would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be at the centre of Centro Historic.

Everything was perfect until we check out and they said they were checking our room before checking out. The staff member came back with a bathroom towel and gave it to the receptionist and she ask what was in the towel it was kind of brown so I said dirt maybe we were out on trips all five day we were there. It felt weird that they went thru the towels. It made me very uncomfortable to have to explain what it could be.

The place is well-kept and clean, and the bedding is very nice. Unfortunately, there is a sewer smell in the lobby that seems to linger throughout the property (don't know if thats temporary, but it was very noticeable the 4 days of my stay). I did not feel welcome at all. The front desk staff is useless and far less efficient than at other properties at this price point. The bell staff was very helpful. Unfortunately, I will not be staying here again.

My overall experience at this hotel was stressful and overwhelming...It was not the hotel itself, but the circumstances surrounding the hotel. At the time of my arrival there was a huge protest happening in the central area. Many of the main streets were closed due to a march and also an actual occupation of the city. It was nearly impossible for me to even get to the hotel entry, because there were tents and tarps that covered the entire street. There was no one from the hotel there to help. So, it was a very stressful situation. When I finally made it to the hotel, I was hot, sweating and clearly overwhelmed. It would have been very thoughtful and helpful to let me go ahead and check in at 2:15. But I was made to wait until exactly 3:00. Because of the situation outside of the hotel, I really was forced to stay inside. The only outlet was the restaurant hotel.

The staff were very kind and I absolutely loved my room. It was big, beautiful and clean. And the bed was fantastic!

At check-out, the streets outside were still blocked and occupied by the protesters, but one of the hotel staff took my luggage and guided me to an open street where I was able to get an uber.

If it were not for the protest situation, I would have loved my stay here.

We chose this hotel for its excellent location—directly across from Palacio de Bellas Artes and within walking distance of major museums and landmarks. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and assisted us with arranging an airport shuttle (for a fee).

Currently, access to the hotel is challenging due to an ongoing protest encampment outside. Guests must walk through low-hanging tarps, tents, and dark areas with limited visibility, especially at night, as streetlights were not functioning. The street closure also makes Uber or taxi pickups inconvenient, requiring guests to walk to meet their ride, which can be difficult with luggage. None of this is the hotel’s fault, but it is important to consider before booking.

One small issue: a bathroom mat was provided only on the first night and never replaced, despite the cold bathroom floor.

I would recommend this hotel but once the protests are over with.

We got a blind room (no window) and were obliged to pay additional money to get one with window. This is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard.
That was a real issue.
The second day the room wasn't cleaned!
Otherwise the location and architecture of the building are very appreciated

Our maid, Mariam (small young woman) was exceptionally good! The front desk was helpful and professional. A pamphlet or conversation about ,the amenities would be very helpful. Workout area breakfast and or brunch, laundry etc. We spoke little Spanish and the staff generally spoke little English so that was a stumbling block. We definitely could have prepared ourselves better.
There was quite a bit of protesting and camping out in the street in front of the hotel. To no fault of their own, but better communication with the guests could have made that situation feel more secure and or safe. We were in Mexico City 12 days and enjoyed the culture very much.

This was my second stay at Hotel Bellas Artes, and this time I brought along family and friends. Without exception, everyone agreed that the location is absolutely ideal—close to the major attractions, restaurants, and everything you need to enjoy CDMX.
My guests were especially impressed by the quality of the rooms. They were spacious, well-appointed, and the high ceilings added an extra touch of elegance and luxury that made the stay feel even more special.
The staff were just as friendly and welcoming as I remembered from my first visit. Their warm hospitality and attentiveness consistently make guests feel at home.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The location was perfect, right in the city center, making it easy to explore local attractions and get around without any hassle. One of the best features was that the hotel was surrounded by a variety of restaurants, cafés, and shops, so there were plenty of dining options within walking distance.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout my stay. The overall atmosphere was welcoming, and everything I needed was conveniently nearby. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to both business and leisure travelers.

Bellas Artes is in a prime location in the Historic District in Downtown Mexico, City.
Great area to walk and see all the historic beautiful architecture buildings not to name all the great restaurants near by. The main square the Zocalo is just a few blocks away. I have stayed here several times at this hotel and it is always peaceful & quiet. The rooms are beautiful and extremely clean. The staff is friendly and professional.

If you’re visiting CDMX for culture, museums, architecture, lots of walking and eating this location is perfect. If your looking for a place gentrified look elsewhere but do yourself a favor and don’t skip the opportunity to dive into the beauty centro historico has to offer. The high ceiling this place has offer was so dreamy to me. Only thing I would change is the terrace not having furniture. That would be such a great lounge area at night if it did. I’ll def be back.

Check-in was easy, front desk workers were helpful and kind. Room was clean, spacious, quiet and we had a great view from the balcony. The rooms were also beautiful, clean and the snacks/drinks were complimentary and were refilled daily. We did have to request fresh towels, and we would have liked to have known more about the hotel amenities such as the gym, terrace area and downstairs bathroom in the lobby. We were greeted every time, and questions were answered in a timely manner. On the last day of our stay, at check-out, the front desk did a final walk through, and we had forgotten one of our purses with our passport, he brought it down to us before we left. We were very thankful.

Hotel management needs to re-train some of it's staff in hospitality.

The night manager was rude and condescending towards to us and our friends when we tried to invite them up for a drink. I understand that it might have been late and there are rules but that should be communicated to hotel guests with some level of grace and politeness. If you're trying to pass yourself off as an elegant establishment then you should treat your guests similarly. Though who knows, maybe if we were dressed in suits and blazers we would have received better treatment.

Also the hotel listings should let you know that some of the rooms look onto an alleyway staircase and are thus fogged for privacy. Meaning you cannot see out of them. They open a crack so you can look into the dingy alleyway. Amazing !

The hotel itself is very centrally located the interior is beautiful but it does not in anyway make up for the soul sucking experience I had here.

There is no reason to stay here when there are so many other options in centro historical.

We loved the hotel until we came home and realized my husbands Gucci sunglasses were stolen along with the other sunglasses case he had . We were only there 24 hours so when we got home we realized the sunglasses were gone . We had emptied out our bag on the bed when we arrived and then left the hotel to go shopping the sunglasses were left on the bed in their case . We were in room 209. Be careful as the sh are thieves in this hotel . It’s a shame bc the hotel was beautiful. This has never happened to us and we go on vacation every year .

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would definitely come back again. The Wi-Fi worked great throughout our stay, which made everything very convenient. The king bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept so well every night. We also loved how much bigger the room felt compared to other places we’ve stayed.

The bathroom even had a fan, which was a nice feature. The only small downside for me was the bright green light near the air conditioning thermostat, which was noticeable at night. I woke up and it was at the head of the bed and couldnt go back to sleep because it was in my eyes.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel to others.

The bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept so well every night. Next time, I would definitely book the king-size bed for even more space and comfort.

One detail we really loved was the beautiful Talavera mugs in the room with the hotel’s symbol on them — such a nice touch that added character to the experience.

Breakfast was not included, but we did try it on the first morning and thought it was just okay. After that, we decided to venture out and enjoy the local street food and nearby restaurants instead, which ended up being a great choice.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Even though it was centrally located, the room was incredibly quiet. You couldn’t hear any street noise at all, and the room became wonderfully dark at bedtime, making it easy to get a great night’s sleep. The staff was so nice and the bedroom had nice fan going.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this hotel to others.

The hotel was great and is in a good location. The only minus was our room did not have running AC for the first 2 nights. We brought it up to the staff during the first night before going to bed to where they “reset”the AC system. They said it was fixed however we immediately knew it wasn’t the case. The AC was not felt like in another room where my girlfriend’s parents were staying at in the same hotel. It was obvious there was a difference in room temperature. The next day we brought it up again to which they supplied us a fan until a professional can see what the issue was. Before the third night they were able to switch our rooms which is what we initially thought would be easier. They transported our luggage to the other room. Packing and unpacking again was a bummer, however I’m glad they were able to eventually come through and allow us to enjoy the rest of our stay as originally intended. That’s the only reason for the 4 star. If that wasn’t the case a 5 star would be very easily justified. Not a 3 star review since they did eventually fix the issue.

Nice area, food and shops around really nice, staff very courteous, the only issue we had in our stay was the fact that there are no hangers for the towels, either the face or hand towel or even for the bath towel, they only had one inside the restroom, also, the way the bathroom sink is done it makes very difficult to was your face, the fawcet is right above the middle of the sink making it hard to fully wash your face.
Just because those issues we may not come back to this hotel.

Amazing location, super kind, helpful and efficient staff. From cleaning staff, to lobby folks, everybody was friendly and prompt. Made us feel super welcome and appreciated at all times. Our room was spacious with a small balcony overlooking 5 de Mayo Street, with beautiful buildings and the everyday activity of a big city. Mini fridge refilled daily with a couple of curtesy drinks and snacks was a great bonus. A 7-eleven and pharmacy across the street, a 24h traditional restaurant next door, and loads of eats, museums and Alameda a short walk around was great. Def will be back. Visited town for BTS concert and staff was very welcoming and appreciating of the special ocassion, welcoming BTS Army in such a warm way. Thanks all!

I did not have breakfast in the Hotel, there is plenty of shops of all sorts around tehe hotel. Consider that the hotel is situated in the heart of CDMX!

The terrasse was under repair when we were staying so we cannot evaluate that. Otherwise the staff if friendly and rooms are beautiful. The art deco feel is gorgeous

A heritage hotel that was beautiful. We stayed in the king suite with balcony. Extra large room with spacious bathroom. A very nice modern suite in the historical centre. Easy walk to tourist spots in the centre. Very helpful and pleasant staff.
