The hotel was nice. Unfortunately, they had music playing very loud on the rooftop. We could not fall asleep until the music stopped, around 11 pm. Also, the breakfast was very ordinary. Location was close to the basilica and downtown museums. Overall, it was an average stay.

The hotel had a good location and the room was nice. The drawback was it didn’t seem to be very focused on being a hotel vs event center. New Years Eve Party lasted until 4 am w music at the volume of a busy public street inside the room and party goers lounging 5 ft from rooms all night. Front desk - not answering. No notification in advance

I originally booked the presidential suite, unfortunately our stay got tainted since there was no internet in the room, which we absolutely needed for work, we did not have cable or any kind of tv, and the safe didn’t work .
Staff was very diligent and attempted to help with the issues but unfortunately we had to change rooms, which it was ok, at least we were able to work. The restaurant offers really good food, live music was a plus.
A huge plus is the location of the hotel, a walking distance from all the museums and historic sites.

I am a 71 old woman. Having the bathroom upstairs was extremely inconvenient. I paid extra the last few days to get a different room.
The worst problem was the extremely loud music every night. Live bands.Impossible to sleep until very late. Frustrating not to be able to relax after being out and about all day.

First night we got there at midnight bed was way to small for two my feet hung off and I am only 6ft tall . Moved us to another room . I took a shower and got glass all in my foot , I let that go then climbed in bed and glass all in my bed . So moved us to another room at midnight . Didn’t sleep at all on the stay and gave us nothing for the issues

Love Hotel Domingo Santo

This hotel is absolutely amazing! I love the colonial architecture combined with modern furniture, the vibe is fabulous, and the personnel super friendly and accommodating! They rooftop restaurant is unforgettable! The complimentary breakfast delicious! We enjoyed refreshing cocktails overlooking the Plaza Santo Domingo accompanied by fun bands! I can't recommend this place enough!

Very authentic hotel! It’s so gorgeous and the view is just amazing. Came to celebrate my sister in law who just got married. Front desk staff Arbad gave us the best rooms! Arbad was very welcoming and made our stay feel like home. He also helped up with our luggage and gave us lots of information. If we come back to the city I would definitely stay at Domingo Santo again. The rooms are so spacious and gorgeous. If you stay in the center obviously there will be noise from the busy streets. Keep that in mind. But we are happy!

Loved the layout of the space, super cute & quaint! I was in walking distance of all the locations I wanted to hit. Their complimentary breakfast was great. However their rooms aren’t super soundproof so I could hear a lot of the noise going on whether from the rooftop or their lobby. Staff was generally pretty nice, would stay here again.

Decided to visit for the holiday weekend and to soak up the culture. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Domingo Santo Boutique Hotel as it was very walkable, the staff were accommodating, amazing restaurant on site and I felt safe as a solo traveler. Would definitely stay again upon returning.

Very bad choice!

Upon arrival we were greeted by the presence of a police officer at the entrance of the hotel. The front desk was basically a desk within a corridor. The entire what must’ve been the hotel lobby looked like cheap stores inside an office building with glass and mirrors as decor. The room that we had made the reservation for mentioned a second floor loft which is where the bathroom was so we expected that. Not an issue. However, what we didn’t expect was to be on the first floor adjacent to a makeshift lobby. Inside the room was a clumpy mattress and painted windows. When we opened the windows there were mesh grates and all that could be seen and hear were the loud street peddlers selling their goods. The smell of garbage immediately permeated the room. None of this was imagined or more importantly disclosed in the advertisement. We did not unpack bags, immediately left the room and subsequently the hotel. No refund was given to us. We did find another hotel with much better accommodations, sense of safety, and much higher hospitality. Prior to this hotel we paid less at another hotel where in comparison was a 5 star hotel.

I’ve always wanted to stay at this hotel because the music on the rooftop is always nice. Sadly I didn’t have enough time to check it out. AC system was great compared to most hotels in Mexico City. If your shopping in Tepito or lagunilla, this is the best hotel in the area. Great staff at this hotel. I wish it were cheaper and I’d use it more option.

What a wonderful stay
Eduardo made sure we arrived safely with a ride from driver Alberto. Our room was very clean well air conditioned. The roof top restaurant was excellent.
Carlos the waiter was very friendly and the food and drinks were delicious.
I highly recommend the Doming Santo Hotel.
Can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I had the pleasure to stay at Santo Domingo for 6 days, this adults only boutique hotel is very close to the center of town about 1.5 blocks from el zocalo and is located in a very safe area. I was there for my birthday celebration and the staff helped my wife decorate the room so she could surprise me. The managers Eduardo and Geovani are very friendly and attentive very helpful making recommendations and helping you with any needs you have. Laura at the front desk is very welcoming, helpful and is always there to assist you. The hotel also has a very good restaurant with great tasting food and a very good mixologist my wife had her first lychee martini there and she loved it. We would have breakfast every day our sever Godoy was very nice and would help us with food recommendations when ever we asked him. Over all I would say this is a great hotel with very friendly and profesional staff that go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable I would definitely recommend staying here and will be staying here again myself.

Congratulations to the manager and the entire staff! We stayed for 5 days, and our experience was absolutely wonderful. The quality of customer service and attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. My mother, who is a senior, was delighted. The facilities were clean and beautiful, and a bonus was the restaurant and live music—the food was delicious! This is definitely our favorite spot for future visits to Mexico City.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Restaurant Off the Zocalo

This place is amazing and I would definitely stay here again.

The location is just a couple of blocks off the Zocalo, and easily within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, cafes, and the Metro. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant / bar is top notch. The food was amazing and there was great live music up there every night we were there.

The complimentary breakfast was made to order—chilaquiles, omelets, fresh fruit, pastries, cappuccino, lattes, etc. It opens a little late for my preference, but the days just start later in Mexico.

It does get a little noisy. It’s an old building in a noisy area of town. My room opened up onto the lobby, and you could hear people coming and going. At night, it wasn’t bad though. It’s a pretty small hotel so once the restaurant closed, there weren’t a lot of people around.

All in all, it was a wonderful hotel with great staff.

A Gem in the Center of the City

The hotel entrance is announced w/ a small sign above the door, easy to miss. Once inside, this boutique hotel only has nine rooms, with an attractive lobby and foyer.
Our room was expansive, tall-ceilinged, and included the shower and water closet as glassed enclosures within the room footprint.
The rooftop Terrace served us breakfast (and dinner twice), with an excellent, simple menu available. The chefs were highly-skilled, accommodating my spouses vegan requests, and even came to the table to discuss preferences.
The hotel staff were prompt to address my concerns - extra towels, a hotel safe battery that was low. They offered to store our passports in their safe until ours was available again.
Others have commented on the rooftop terrace music volume. The live bands they regularly host were very entertaining (highly recommend), and started early enough in the evening (6-7pm) and done by 9-10pm such that our room was quiet by the time we wished to turn in.
The room was always a comfortable temperature, supplied by a Mini-split heat pump high on the wall. (Many other smaller hotels didn’t come w/ AC, my research determined.)
Most staff were not fluent in English, but language wasn’t a significant barrier with Google Translate as a bridge. We established a great relationship with the wait staff in the restaurant, who immediately tuned to our breakfast desires!
Highly recommend this outwardly unassuming, internally modernized hotel. Great for a couples getaway!

This is an area that is busy during the day and quiet at night. The wooden shutter doors at the hotel help block noise/light, and the minimal number of rooms keep things private. We immensely enjoyed our stay at this property, and ended up making a return trip to the property for an additional night during our Mexico trip. The staff are attentive, the restaurant terrace is quite pretty.

The rooms are very spacious and cleaned well. A very boujee feel with the ensuite bedrooms, the roof terrace restaurant with subtle music. The hotel is close to most of the main areas in the Historic Centre. 4* accommodation at a 3* price - excellent value for money.

About 20/25 mins from the airport, and a c.200 Peso Uber ride (don't get the local taxis - they're a ripoff!)

Every time I go to Mexican city, this is where im staying. The food is amazing. The staff is awesome and its the only place i ate at where i didn't get sick. Everything was perfect. The only thing i had an issue with is the balcony. Its not a real balcony where you and another person can sit and enjoy some sun together. Its literally a small gate .it shouldn't be advertised as a balcony because it's deceiving. Other than that, this place gets a 10/10.

We were assigned a room called Corregidora. It was the only room on the main floor behind the elevator next to a garbage cabinet and storage cabinet, directly below the restaurant. We didn't go 2 minutes without hearing dishes clanging or buckets of empty bottles being dumped into the closet just outside our door. Our room was never quiet.
Our room was HOT! We asked if there was air conditioning and the employee who let us into our room pointed at a fan. It had a frio setting so I believed it would cool the room. It did not, it was not an air conditioner only a fan. We opened our only window, which was toward the plaza. There was a backpack hanging on the metal bars, phones and beverages sitting on our window seal. Immediately the people selling at the market, who were directly outside our window, turned to veer into our room. We could not have this window open, there were tons of people within feet of the open window, displaying our entire room. They were not shy to look directly in at me. No window to open, no air conditioner. Our room was HOT beyond belief. LOUD and HOT. After 3 nights at Domingo Santo, we will not stay here again.

A lot of the staff could speak some English or get help. They were very patient when communicating. Breakfast is a nice sit down and be served meal, but starts at 9am.
At check in we were told that we could have a complimentary drink at the upstairs bar in the evening, but our waiter didn't seem to understand or know about this so we dropped it.
The rooms were wonderful and able to be dark at night. The evening bands on the rooftop were fun to attend and stoped playing at a reasonable time when you needed a quieter room.
I'd recommend for someone wanting a nice room in historic district.

The property itself, and the rooms are very boutique and quaint. We were in love when we first walked in and saw the property. Our problems were with the extremely loud bands that were playing each night. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They would have a live band that was so loud we could not sleep until midnight. Then a DJ would follow that until about 1:30. In addition to that, we didn’t have hot or even warm water for three out of the 6 days we stayed there. Upon complaint about the water, we were just told that it would be taken care of, which it was not, and nobody ever followed up with us until we went down to complain again. When we asked to change rooms due to the noise and the water situation, the response was,”somebody should have emailed you about the noise”. No response to the water situation. When I asked to speak with a manager, they went to speak with her, she looked our way, and gave us a dirty look, and just jumped in the elevator, and we never spoke with her. It’s unfortunate as this is an amazing property with a great rooftop facility. Very close to many dining options. And lots of shopping. Due to the customer service, no hot water, and the noise, I would not recommend anybody staying here.

This place is run by people who have no idea what they are doing. Most of the staff is not friendly to tourists. No one can speak English at this hotel to support tourist needs except Sarah at the front desk and Emmanuel at the restaurant.

They don’t care about the guests, as they have loud music everyday from 7pm to midnight. So don’t expect to sleep before midnight. Their breakfast has a fixed menu and you will be eating just the same thing everyday made to order. They are very adamant and are not flexible to guests. The only English word waiters say is ‘TIP please’. The only reason to stay at this hotel is it’s central location. Nothing else - An easy avoid

Avoid at all cost. At check-in (4 pm) I was charged US$500 in excess due to a clerical error and, after hearing multiple excuses all afternoon, my card was finally credited at 11 pm, thanks to a neighbor than happened to walk in and who taught the front desk person how to use the credit card terminal. Neither the front desk person, nor the sales manager or the owner of the hotel knew how to handle this simplest of procedures. In the process, I was told I was \"having an attitude\" for not wishing to wait until the next day (we had a 6 am flight!)
The room was clean and fashionable but very stuffy, With no A/C, we were left with a very noise fan and, if we wanted to open the window, we were two feet from a souvenir stand where people talked and and laughed all night. The hotel has a rooftop bar with VERY loud salsa music that went on until 11 pm. As if that wasn't enough, the front desk people talked loudly all night, unaware, I suppose, that our room was just a few feet from the front desk, and the doors are thin. The idea of an \"attic\" bathroom is visually appealing. but very inconvenient. Flushing the toilet or taking a shower sounds to those trying to sleep beneath this attic as if they are under Niagara Falls.
In sum, a horribly disappointing experience at a hotel that fashions itself as one with a personal, boutique-like approach, but whose owner and staff are clueless.

Excellent service, breakfast, location; clean

We loved our stay in this small hotel, only four blocks from the Zocalo and Temple Mayor. Although updated, it did not feel generic as it incorporated Mexican handicrafts and arcitectural elements in its decor. The breakfast was amazing; the staff was friendly and helpful.

Note that the terrace restaurant has music several nights a week. We enjoyed going up at the end of the evening, but if you don't like music or noise in the evening, you might be bothered by it. It was fun for us.

The breakfast was excellent. Great restaurant on the top floor but the music was SO loud in the evening that it was difficult to eat while they were playing. The staff was great. The room was nice but I had asked (and paid for) for the Deluxe room and did not get it? Mine was much smaller the neighboring room. Also I requested VIP service but they were not familiar with that. Overall, a very nice boutique hotel in a good location and I would stay there again. Excellent food and wait staff.

Situated in the historic district it is walkable, safe to walk, shopping, museums, churches. If you need a taxi the front desk will arrange easily. The hotel has breakfast upstairs included in the room with choices of sweet breads, fruit and eggs prepared to order. Also a very good dinner, though during the week it closes at 7 pm.

Everything was OK but having the glass shower in the bedroom was a bit uncomfortable. The lighting was also poor. We had trouble with the TV and Heater. Staff members came within minutes after call.

Muy decepcionaba de este hotel

Antes de llegar al hotel tenía altas expectativas ya que el hotel tiene más 4 estrellas en google. Pero desafortunadamente no fue nada de lo que esperaba. Me quede 5 días en el hotel.
1. Cuando intentamos hacer check-in la recepcionista los quería cobrar $2000 pesos extras que nunca supe de que eran cuando yo ya había pagado por los 5 días que nos quedaríamos hospedados en el hotel. La recepcionista mencionó que intentó hacer el pago de los $2000 pesos multiple veces pero que la tarjeta no tenia insuficiente fondos. De echo nos enseño todas las veces que intentó hacer el pago en la computadora, pero al momento de enseñarme los números de la tarjeta que intentó usar para hacer el pago note que no era mi tarjeta y le dije que era la tarjeta incorrecta. Ella solamente dijo que hablaría con su compañero y ver qué estaba pasando y nunca nos explicó de que era el pago extra. La recepcionista mencionó que al día siguiente cuando hiciera check-out nos diría que era el problema. Pero yo le mencioné que nos quedarías 5 días que no haríamos check-ou al día siguiente. Esta situación me hizo sentir insegura, incómoda y preocupada ya que no sabía lo que estaba sucediendo. Al día siguiente ella no nos comunicó nada, yo fui a preguntarle por mañana antes de nos fuéramos qué fue lo qué pasó, al momento de preguntarle dijo que todo se había arreglado sin disculparse o mencionar que fue un error.

The property is nice and close to shops and restaurants, breakfast was decent, but we had problems getting hot water in our shower from the first day. It was hard to get a hold of someone at the front desk several times to report our problem, for 3 days straight we had the same issue, morning and night. Also, due to being so close to the Zocalo, many streets were closed to traffic so it would take a very long time to get picked up or dropped off by Uber drivers to this hotel, 35 minutes to move one block one night; we were told this happens quite often so we decided to check out 2 days early.

We loved these place, staff was very nice. The location is awesome there is lots to do around the srea. We loved having breakfast and dinner in the restaurant upstais, waiters were very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back and recommend to everyone.

Llegamos tarde a nuestra reservación por lo tanto fue cancelada pero Edgar Leyva en recepción es una excelente persona con un excelente trato al cliente, nos ayudo a conseguir otro cuarto en el mismo hotel y siempre estuvo al pendiente de nosotros, nos dio tips para conocer la Ciudad de México y nos ofreció siempre, su ayuda, el hotel está hermoso, y muy limpio, excelente ubicación.

Amazing 10/10!!

Beautiful boutique hotel in the center of downtown. Everyone is so attentive, Edgar at the front desk goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect!
We had an issue one of the nights with the host at the restaurant but Edgar and the managers at the restaurant made sure it got corrected. It gets a 10/10 in my book, the transportation guy they used was Antonio and he was amazing also going above and beyond that we booked him for a personal tour to take us out to Xochimilco. The only bad thing is traffic gets horrible for rush hour. But it’s got nothing to do with the hotel. Food and drinks are delicious as well! Last day we were leaving early & we were not going to be available to catch breakfast but they were nice enough to take us fruit, bread and coffee up to our room at 630am!

Hotel is in historic center so walking distance to many places. A metro station was 2 blocks away and we used it few times. Metro could be crowded but it was 4 of us and I never felt unsafe. Hotel personnel was super kind, helpful and attentive. Excellent place to visit
