Literally the worst hotel experience of my life. First room was street facing. They have no air conditioning, fridge or ice so it was extremely hot. They moved us to another room (405) which had a putrid black mold smell coming from the bathroom. They came and cleaned and after an hour the smell came back. My son, husband and I left early and were sick for two days. Coffee wasn't available as promised. This place sucks.

This hotel is very nice and a big plus is that breakfast was included, even though it did get stale pretty fast. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. With that being said, one thing I didn’t like was that the walls were really thin so you could hear everything.

Walking distance from Garibaldy, taco stands, Mercado and subway station. The only down side was the shower it had no door or curtain so it was always super wet and slippery in addition the towels were quite worn out and thin. Other than that I would stay again.

Overall a good experience for the price and would stay again but my only complaint was the bed firmness was too hard for my liking. I needed to use all 4 pillows to help give my body extra cushion on each side of me to take off the pressure. Other than that, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, and warm shower.

It was centrally located, a 5 min walk to Plaza Garibaldi. We loved the breakfast — much better than expected. Stayed with my elder mother. It was really worrisome that the rep first gave me.a.key to am occupied room. Made me.qorey about the safety and security of my belongings in my room. The second room they assigned was fine except they left the smallest roll of toilet paper causing me to grab another from the cold front desk in the early hours of the morning, interrupting much needed rest. We were surprised to find only a fan and not AC, however we really did not need AC even in mid August. The window had no screen so w could not open it for fresh air without risking bugs entering. Overall, a clean, spacious room . The bed was definitely hard, but the pillows were great I appreciated the price for what we received. Would considering staying again.

The property has a feeshly renovated feel..in not brand new.Very clean. Our trip has been a back packing honeymoon. So we have gone with inexpensive (hotel just to sleep and feel clean and get clean)but fresh and very clean and well kept and this definitely fits that bill. All the coffee you can drink and fresh grind and free. Complimentary breakfast had four hot selections(kept fresh on rotation) and then typical continental selections it was good( my wifes Ukranian and very picky and she was happy with the breakfast). Easy to get to one bus ride to the national anthropology musuem and the castle(and not long) which are both definitely must see while in Mexico..
and you can mingle with the friendly locals. Show them courtesy and they are more then happy to be just as friendly back :) All though not in a pretty neighborhood its definitely a must for a quality back packing hotel. We lost one umbrella on our trip and hotel front desk gave us one last night so we could go out to dinner in tropical like lightning storm with rain and hail. Walking distance to all the Mariachi (lots of bands)you can handle and a great indoor dinner bazzare. This hotel definitely a diamond in the rough so to speak. There is also a nice center of building courtyard filled with lots of planted local plants, and the small but adequate gym is right next to it.Our trip has been about spend less on accommodations but still get quality of life and my wife and I have been really happy with this place.

Very friendly staff, breakfast is switched up everyday and it’s actual food not just cereal. Rooms very clean and the cleaning ladies supper sweet too. Even tho we got a dirty towel once but it got resolved. 5min walk to the metro and bus stops and it is very accessible. It is in a questionable area a lot of homeless people but there is so many police officers and they help alot and friendly. I really recommend if on a budget!

Only hotel i have stayed with no aircon nor heater. I was freezing for days breathing cold air and on the verge of getting sick. All staff could do was offer more blankets. I had to turn shower on for so long just to get the steam running but even then, it took 5 minutes before hot water would run. Terrible traumatic stay. I even attempted to sleep in the bathroom just for the heat but floor tiles were too cold despite covering. MX (My Xtermination) Lagunilla was a terrible choice. Only the dining staff Alfredo was nice. Everyone else felt cold as the freezing room. Damn manager was not even around to address my query. I bought a water pot that worked for 2 nights then conked out. Dismal stay ruined on the first hour till last day at this bad choice. At one point the floor nearly flooded. Reception suggested i run the hot water to steam the room. Problem was it was soooo wasteful. This is an example of a business that only thinks of the profit and not the market. Bad business model in a hospitality industry. A manager that avoids its guests and never around. All the young inexperienced staff at front desk didn't seem to have the training for servicing. Cold transactional responses was the norm. My \"X\" to MX Lagunilla..... memorable (i e traumatic) Xperience to you. Change your manager.

They want a copy of all the occupants ID. We got there 20 min before check in and didn’t want to let us in. The staff is rude to the point that they don’t want to give you and extra towel when there’s only two in a room of 4!!!!! Who does that! Area is sketchy. The restaurant looks empty. For you to borrow the missing piece game boards you have to leave your ID. Towels are horrendous they look like 50 year old towels. NO AC!!!! And it’s HOT!!! The bed is very comfortable.

The only thing that was good about the property was the cleanliness. It is definitely unsafe outside with addicts approaching for money. The staff tried to charge me $150 pesos for a new key card! The food was horrible and no AC! If you need an iron you have to ask with reception and you have to leave an ID! I will NEVER be back!

This location did nothing to accommodate us the hotel rooms where so hot never did they mention there’s no AC and they only had one fan in the room and it was not working , and they said they couldn’t help us we couldn’t take another day in a room that was so hot since my friend has a medical condition we left but the staff was rude and say we won’t get a refund for the last two days

I was quite astonished to learn that the establishment permits the accommodation of infants under the age of two, especially considering the absence of air conditioning within the rooms. This resulted in an uncomfortably warm environment, akin to that of an oven— an experience I have never encountered before in my life. Furthermore, the location of the premises is situated in a less desirable area. Compounding these issues is the inadequate ventilation within the rooms, where only a fan is provided for air circulation. This environment is not conducive to family stays. However, for individuals who do not mind a warmer sleeping environment, this might be suitable.

The hotel is located very close to the metro station and within walking distance of Centro Histórico. The rooms are super spacious and comfortable. However, the common areas of the hotel have a bad odor, it is not pleasing at all. Also, don’t expect hot water. It is nonexistent. Breakfast is good and perfect for taking with you as you head out to the city. The hotel is haunted, but the staff is super friendly and helpful!

The heat wasn't turn on until late at night and it gets cold during the winter in Mexico city. The walls don't allow for the insulation of sound so you hear perfectly the traffic outside, the hair dryer's used in the nearby rooms and all of the colorful conversations of the others in the hallway. The bagged breakfast aren't very good and should be skipped. However, the staff was very friendly and the location in good, in terms of being close to public transportation and landmarks in the city.

Negatives:
1) There is no AC and windows don't have a mosquito screen.
2) Coffee machine was out of order for one full day, no milk/cream provided when machine was running. Breakfast was minimal.
3) Internet was super slow and we had to call front desk asking them to restart it every 2-3 hours.
4)There is a homeless camp nearby at north end of Eje Central Lázaro. Our Uber driver told us to be careful and the whole thing made us a little uncomfortable during our stay.
Positives: 0) it's cheap. 1) The hotel/rooms are clean. Pictures are pretty representative. 2) location-wise, this hotel is great for access to historic downtown.

They block many websites for Wifi, difficult entry

Most websites via Wifi were blocked. My laptop, tablet, cell phone w/no service, and US cellphone with MX sim could access social media and music/video, but even common sites like ebay I couldnt access. My friend who lives in CDMX could use websites which my devices couldn't. But she also couldn't use some of her favorite websites ... and Facebook emojis were blocked. During 2 weeks of travel this was the only location I couldn't use wifi.

I had a 2 night reservation and had to leave after the 1st night because i needed to work, which required wifi. No one fixed my problem.

There is a lot of road construction this month. The hotel doesnt inform guests. They don't explain how to enter. Because all but one street is closed, I had to make 3 passes until i found a street which wasn't closed.

I am Silver w/Hotels and this hotel was listed with a Silver bonus of a complimentary beverage, with a cocktail icon. When I arrived, the hotel said they do not participate with such an elite perk.

When i entered my room there was no wifi. They quickly sent someone to help me :) When the guy asked for my phone logged me into the wifi I realized that if I was at the door I had wifi but walk into the room... no wifi. They moved me to another room w/same problem. 3rd room worked but I was blocked from using wifi...

\"Breakfast\" was a sack lunch w/juice, nutri bar, and sandwich.

When i left, a backhoe blocked the street... couldn't find the driver and had to drive over a 1 meter mound...

The hotel was excellent vs price. Nice minimalist and modern decor. Unfortunately the internet strength signal was too weak in order to work conformably. That my only claim. The personal very friendly and attentive. Be aware the the hotel it's in the middle between the Historic center and Barrio Bravo, that makes not safe to walk at the night at the surroundings. You can take your rubber just in front of the hotel or inside the Hotel parking lot.
