The room was clean the second day I found a bug/cockroach in the closet and I texted them in there WhatsApp messages and they said tomorrow they will look into it. The next day I took the cleaning lady she said she will report it and didn’t even clean the room. I called front deak and said let me see what we can do they switch us rooms and was way better it even felt nicer I think they just sent us to a corner room become we are yung. And the streets near buy smell very bad and if you open the window the smell comes in super strong

Everything was great, the location was the best, the majority of the places I like to visit are walking distance. The only thing I did not like was the sewer smell, it was outside but sometimes you could smell it at the lobby. The elevator takes so long to arrive, even when the hotel have three of them. But other than that, it was great, I will reserve again in my next visit to the majestic CDMX. And I will recommend this hotel to my friends, family and everyone who want to visit CDMX.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The staff was very professional, and well educated, and we felt safe throughout our stay.
When we arrived, we were initially assigned a room on the 12th floor, but due to the altitude we didn’t feel well. We spoke with the front desk, and they kindly moved us to a lower floor.
The room was good and the mattress was very comfortable; however, the cleaning could have been better.
I paid in advance for breakfast, which was buffet-style but this wasn’t expecified when I made the reservation. Unfortunately, I was disappointed considering the price—it could have been much better. The food did not feel fresh. I even tried to cancel the breakfast, but since the reservation was made through Expedia, it doesn’t allowed me to cancel it. They offered me à la carte breakfast for one day, but when I arrived at the breakfast area, the staff had not been informed, and I couldn’t use it. I didn’t pursue the issue further because I wanted to enjoy my trip. I contacted Expedia afterward, but I haven’t heard anything back yet.
Another downside was that the terrace was closed due to renovations, and I was not notified in advance. It remained closed for the entire duration of my stay. The restaurant was also under renovation, so breakfast was served in a temporary salon.
Overall, despite these issues, the staff was genuinely very nice.

The rooms are decent — not great, not bad.

The taxi service was bad — very expensive, more than three times what a normal taxi costs in Mexico City, and the hotel didn’t seem to have any desire to control costs or hold the drivers accountable for price-gauging their clients.

The Hotel Fontan Reforma is located at very convenient place, close to a lot of attractions, restaurants, caffès and transportation. Street markets, street food, music, dancing you will find literally around the corner. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, our room was cleaned up every day, there is complementary black and green tea and instant coffee. If your window faces the street it will be a bit noisy because one of the main roads runs there. Overall, our stay was pleasant.

Great location. The rooms are ok. Our room was spacious, facing Paseo de la Reforma street, noise level was tolerable. We had a couple of issues with our room, there was no hand soap, blow dryer did not work, they come to do your bed but they do not sweep nor mop, shower curtain was very high and all the water wet the bathroom, there was not a single hanger in the closet. Beds are too hard. It is a basic hotel for just sleeping.

It was ok, we like the location, the staff was very kind but we had some issues with the room, for example the smell it was pretty bad inside and outside of our room, also the WiFi connection was very poor and the hot water was not hot enough..
but in general it was fine.. we still enjoyed Mexico City!

I asked the cleaning person to please clean my room, cleaning person said she would clean it in 30 minutes but never came by.
I also requested to have the AC fixed, it was not throwing cold air.
AC was never repaired.

Getting an uber was difficult due to construction. On my 2nd full day stay, I did not get cleaning service. The lighting in the bathroom is terribly dark, and no makeup mirror. We were staying in a room with 2 queen beds. They had been doing updates on a room down the hall from us with drills early in the morning and the paint they used was extremely pungent in smell, to the point of a headache. The cleanliness was ok, they don't wash the floors of the rooms. Which is odd because its been so much rain these few days. The drainage in the shower was horrible and you would be showering with lots of water building up in the shower and God knows the condition or cleanliness of the sewage pipes itself. There was a mildew type smell when we first arrived as well. We found drain flies in our room from the sink which comes from stagnant water and built up of soap scum and bacteria. The shower soap itself seems watered down and same with the shampoo. The bed sheets had stains on them from day 1 and the walls are paper thin, you can hear people plugging in their devices into the wall. There is no sign for being quiet after a certain time so we hear people hanging out in the hallways being loud, yelling etc.. some nights were hard to sleep. The window didn't really shut completely so the noise from the street was noticeably loud. The breakfast options were decent and delicious for the most part I wouldn't recommend eating there in the evening, there are much better options in the area for price, quality and service. Now for the staff. Not all the staff were friendly. There are just a handful of them that are truly polite and sincere.

My overall stay at the hotel was enjoyable, and I appreciated the hospitality. The buffet offered a nice variety, though I believe there is an opportunity to enhance it further. For instance, the waffles I tried were quite hard in texture, which made them less enjoyable. With a bit more attention to freshness and consistency, the buffet could be an excellent highlight of the stay.

While I understand I was in a different country, I do not feel the value of this hotel matched the room. Continuously asked for extra towels to have enough for the people in the room. Very basic coffee with no sugar no cream nothing to stir with. Sheets kept coming off because they were flat sheets on the bed not tucked. Cade opened late and my son went one night to purchase an açaí bowl which they said they didn’t know how to make even though it was on the menu. Pillows def the worst I have experienced. Just overall value was not there but location was good so I suppose that is what we paid for. I’d stay again but only if nothing else available to try as it wasn’t bad just could have been better.

Very nice hotel, excellent location, superb rooftop option, very nice staff, surprisingly, no noise whatsoever from the main street, the water purificator in the hall for cold and hot water is an amazing touch and benefit!

Things we didn't like:
Only one hanger for a towel in the bathroom - annoying and would be so easy to fix. We had a room in the 5th floor with a view to an ugly concrete wall. The floor in the room is cheap plastic. Very poor noise isolation from the hallway.

The staff and location amazing. I think the only thing that kind of ruined the stay, was food, food was extremely expensive and bad quality, especially for a city with so many options. I tried breakfast, and next day gave another chance for dinner, totally disappointed on both. I think it is a big chance to improve if not on price, but on food quality, at least.

Room size and location were good. The smell in the room though was pretty bad. Not sure if it was freshly painted, but it was very strong. Personal was attentive as well. Not sure if the roof top restaurant is part of the hotel or not, but the service was terrible. We waited 25 minutes for someone to bring us a menu, the table we were sat at was all dirty…we ended up not staying there. For the location I would stay there again, but with all due respect this is not a 4 stars hotel.

I finally got to go back to my home away from home. For years I stayed at Fontán on my CDMX trips. Seven years later I returned and it was amazing as always with many upgrades. The only issue I had was at the restaurant for dinner. My waiter didn’t really bother to do his job. Other than that I have no complaints. I will return soon.

Great! Just don’t stay over the weekend

We stayed over the weekend and unfortunately that meant we heard very loud music coming from a bar or club until 6am on Friday and Saturday night.

The hotel itself is really nice, the lobby is cool and the terrace a nice place to relax. They have water coolers on every floor to refill your bottle, and the staff were always friendly.

The breakfast is on the 10th floor and has an amazing view! It was a bit more expensive than I expected, but still reasonable. The coffee and tea isn’t self service so you have to wait for an available staff member to refill which can sometimes feel like you’re being inconvenient for them, but it’s not the end of the world.

The hotel was located perfectly for access to tour pickup spots and also just generally wandering around the area. There’s a park nearby and a big flea market about 20 minutes walk as well as the wrestling arena.

Highly recommended for first time in CDMX

Great location in Reforma. The plaza behind the hotel was great for walking, shopping, eating, etc. the hotel is beautiful. It’s very convenient to have the cafe in the lobby the rooftop bar and the restaurant with amazing views of the city. The staff is welcoming and helpful. It’s also an easy location for pick up and drop offs with Uber/Taxi. One minus: (I called for an iron and they were so friendly BUT the iron never came lol)

Everything was ok besides that they don’t take complains seriously about people disturbing at night. Was there for 4 nights and the last one was terrible, there were few rooms occupied by people doing a lot of noise almost all night and even though we call a couple of times to reception to make a complaint they didn’t got the situation under control and the next day I went to the front desk to let them know about the situation again they just told me that they going to check.

From the beginning of my stay to till the very end of my stay all the staff there was really friendly knowledgeable and most off all made me, my fiance and friends feel safe. The hotel is very clean and offer cleaning service every morning. Every time I needed something they were so attentive to satisfying my needs. The rooftop bar staff always greeted us and made sure we were taken care of and made amazing drinks. The security and taxi service was also great and trust worthy always giving us a lot of information and history on the city. I would definitely stay here again. Also food from the restaurant was really good as well.

El hotel está ubicado muy cercas de monumentos, del parque que está cerca de bellas artes. Nos encantó la terraza las ve idas muy deliciosas y la pizza igual. Todos son muy acomedidos y muy amables. Ay una tienda para rentar bicis enseguida del hotel. Pudimos rentar bicis para rodar el domingo ya que cierran la calle Reforma y se puede andar en bici, a pie, patines. Es muy bonito el recorrido. Dormimos muy agusto eso si el aire hace mucho ruido y como que no enfría mucho. Pero todo lo demás muy bien.

The location is great, and this is one reasons for chosing this hotel for the past several years prior to covid-19, and now again. We had some difficulties with the cleaning of the room, but this is mainly because of the language. We like this hotel and we highly recommend it.

The reception was great for our 6 night stay. The room was cleaned the first 4 nights but then was not done for the last two nights? It was a perfect location. We walked to all of the tourists spots and there were many places to eat and a movie theater next door. We made sure to be in the hotel at night and we found the rooftop bar a great place to watch the sun set.

Please stay away from this hotel. The location is great because it’s like 20 mins walking distance to Centro Historico. The service at this place is the worst. Everything looks like it’s falling apart and not clean. There was a whole issue when we got there, we didn’t get the room we had reserved, apparently because of the “system”. The bathroom in our room stinky, molding and dirty. I had to tell the cleaning lady to please change the shower curtain and to please clean it. Some of the staff members acted or treated you like YOU owed them money, not friendly. There only 2 staff member that were so nice and friendly, I didn’t get their names or so I would put their names here and thanked them for their help. This hotel is not what they portrayed on the website or expedia. They need better organization, knowledge about their “system” and put more love to that property because it does need a lot fixing. My stayed was not pleasant so I do give it 1 star
