I'm at a loss for words when it comes to describing the girls who work at the front desk. I've seen them work a double shift and still manage to stay composed even under stressfull situation. They make you feel welcome and well attended.

No hot water. They turn off the water during the day, leading to toilets not being able to be flushed during the day. Only 1 faucet worked in the restroom and the showers barely worked.
The kitchen area was filthy. One of my worst hostel experiences. I went without showering for 2 days because the water wasn’t working. I left early because I couldn’t take it anymore. Save your money because this place is trash.

They try to scam tourist as I stayed an extra night which I booked via online and I was told when I was about to leave there is a fee for extending my stay. That is ridiculous so they can make extra cash. This should be written up front.

Great place to stay for a few days, the staff is very attentive and surroundings all though it's not the prettiest i promise it is quite safe at least in my opinion. The best part is it is located near a public transit station!

I know it's a hostel so my expectations were accordingly. The route from the subway to the property felt unsafe at night, I was not given a key to the shared room as the were no more keys available, and I had to rely on the staff when re-entering. The floor is made of wood, which is noisy when walking. I mean, if you only need a place to sleep and take a shower for a small price, it's okay, but IMO, the Casa MX hostel near Zocalo is way better.

The kitchen was extremely filthy with roaches. This was definitely not the place to try and get any kind of sleep as they would play weird techno music (not the cool kind of techno) starting very early in the morning, during the week and on weekends. Some of the employees were rude, and they would not talk to you when you would greet them in the morning or at night.

Since the place is low budget you do get many interesting characters that stay there, also on a budget so you feel like you have to watch your belongings from thieves.

I had a few low cost items stolen, they were inexpensive, but it wasn't the cost it was the act.

The only good thing I could find about this place, is that I met some interesting people from different places. And that it wasn't too far from the subway, and one of the main strips in the area. But I also met many people on budgets who were probably looking for help or some kind of come up.

I definitely would never stay here again. Horrible experience.

The beds are good with full privacy curtains. They don’t include a private lamp however. The electrical outlet in my bunk was loose, so cords fell out too easily. Staff were very friendly. The kitchen and bar area need better signage. The neighbourhood is a bit seedy but I didn’t feel unsafe walking around and it’s not that far from downtown.

The kitchen was usually filthy with Roaches. The staff would sometimes answere you and other times they would ignore you. They wanted to milk you as much as possible and when you don't spend money there they want you to stay elsewhere. Felt unsafe, unwelcomed. Overheard various racist and homophobic comments. Would never stay there again, unless they hired brand new staff.

Everything a hostel should NOT be

It's a party hostel, nothing more, and the people going there are the shady sort. The place is filthy & desolate.

COMFORT: The room itself seems fine in photos, but is poorly engineered. Your bed shakes violently every time someone steps within the 16-person room, which is quite often. You get woken up easily.

LIGHT: The bed curtains are placed poorly, allowing a wide gap of bright light to enter as people enter the room between 10pm and 3am. Again, waking you up.

NOISE: One night, the hostel hosted a party that started at 11:30pm, waking me up entirely. I have professional earplugs, and they were of no use. I also tried earphones & blasting music, but I could still hear them. Also, the hostel supposedly enforces silence from midnight onward, but all they do is say \"shhhh\" every now and then, but just allow conversation to continue. The sound echoes into your room, which has doors & windows open.

HEAT: There is no AC nor fan in the room. Good luck in the Mexican heat. Instead, the door and windows are left open. You couldn't even close the doors if you wanted because you're never given a key, so you'd be locking everyone out. If you close your bed curtains to combat the noise/light issues, the heat issue just gets amplified.

The room was spacious and nice. There was a working television. There was an on-site cooler where you could buy drinks. I didn’t like the fact that a lot of people were hanging out in the common areas without masks during COVID. And there was a noise curfew but people were still kind of loud after that.

Clean and well-managed, excellent location. Firm beds, nice showers, good breakfast and games room, efficient baggage storage and friendly staff. The only complaint is that there are no lights above each bed. Would repeat for sure.

Legitimate health and safety problems

Tons of danger: sharp corners, low doorways and unsafe food.

Food waste, dirty dishes and used napkins are next to the food. People put the lid for the fruit on top of the bin for dirty bin and food waste. Saliva, snot and diseases contaminate the lid, and the lid contaminates the fruit.

Recently, a person dripped a thick trail of blood from the top floor to the bottom floor, but the blood wasn't cleaned for 5 days.

This is horrible. A man had a seizure and fell down the stairs. The de facto manger called an ambulance—but did nothing else. For 30 minutes, the man had 12 seizures and heart arrhythmia—life-threatening. Over 10 guests begged the manager over 30 times to get the ambulance to hurry. The annoyed manager sometimes called but he never said this was life-threatening. A competent person at a responsible business would have brought the first aid kit and portable defibrilator if available. He should have talked about local hospitals: guests don't have this knowledge. But his indifference to other people's suffering increased the risks. The guests hired Uber but had to go to 4 hospitals to be admitted because foreigners don't know the Mexican healthcare system—and the manager was too annoyed to help. The man is in the hospital but we don't know if he will recover, have brain damage or die.

This hostel ignores health and safety by contaminating food with influenza or herpes, not eliminating bloodborne diseases and allowing tons of physical dangers.

Clean, well located, good breakfast

Good hostel. I don't understand why the ratings aren't higher.

Everything is cleaned multiple times a day.
The lockers are large and fit 2 carry-ons easily. Bring your lockpad.

The bunk beds are more like capsules and have curtains. That means a bit of privacy. They also have 2 electrical sockets but no light. WiFi everywhere.

They keep your bags for free.

Large communal areas with balconies, media rooms, ping pong, small gym, etc.

Lots of toilets and showers.

Right next to a major avenue, famous church, subway station and lots of places to eat. Walking distance to belas artes and zocalo (20 something minutes).

Great breakfast with fruit (watermelon and papaya), good coffee, milk, toast, jam, corn flakes and oatmeal. Nothing ever ran out. The team was always making sure everything was running smoothly.

The only \"negatives\" are that breakfast is really early and in some showers the floor is uneven and the water accumulated.

El personal de recepción puede mejorar. Al llegar me preguntaron si era mi primera vez hospedándome, les dije que si, pero aún así no me explicaron nada sobre el lugar, como las áreas comúnes, baños ni nada. Y lo mismo con el personal que estuvo en el turno de la noche.

Es una propiedad con bastante potencial pero le hace falta mantenimiento no es la más limpia, en las habitaciones privadas hacen falta más amenidades, hay demasiado ruido que no descansas bien

La zona es bastante insegura por las noches no se les ocurra caminar por ahí por que corren el riesgo de ser asaltados (como en nuestro caso)

Creo que lo que aún podría mejorar es el aspecto de la higiene en la cocina.
Entiendo que si bien la convivencia tiene que ver con éso, pues el que los espacios estuvieran sucios.e faltó comida y los utensilios no estaban a la mano hicieron de ésta experiencia algo menos cómoda.
Pero los chicos de recepción son divinos y siempre estuvieron predispuestos a ayudar.

Nunca espero algo del hostal; pero siempre logran decepcionar. Esta vez, bajo la monumental mediocridad de Viridiana Mendoza; un drogadicto agredió físicamente a dos huéspedes en plena madrugada. Vociferaba que solo fue a fumar piedra y que era miembro de “la unión”. El tipo pidió a sus amigos, visiblemente armados, que fueran a ayudarlo. No se puede descansar, no se puede tener un espacio limpio, adecuado o digno, y tampoco se puede estar seguro. Un empleado incluso abusó del perrito y le pintó las orejas, y la cola con pintura de plomo. Es la última vez que me hospedo aquí. Si la cadena MX tiene una pizca de vergüenza, debería reconsiderar si vale la pena conservar a alguien tan inepto administrando su hostal y dejando que pierdan dinero. Voy a extrañar las hamburguesas, los cocteles y a Tyson.

Además de la ocasional caca de perro y charco de orines; hay que tolerar las costumbres de algunos huéspedes de escupir flemas desde sus camas y de defecar fuera de los inodoros. Hay que tolerarlos porque el inexistente personal de limpieza va a dejar eso hasta el otro día, o más tiempo. El único recepcionista que no ha renunciado irá horrorizado a pedirte que te calles y te sacará de la terraza sin chistar; solo no le pidas que te cambien de habitación para evadir a los de higiene relajada porque jamás moverá un dedo. La gerencia es más un rumor que una presencia administrativa en ésta vecindad, mal llamada hostal. Gente lavando ropa en cubetas, tendiendo sus calzones en las camas, y demás superficies. “Voluntarios” que dejan reseñas estelares a cambio de una noche gratis. Toda una experiencia el lugar. Por mera decencia, habrían de ponerle un gramo de atención a ese hostal y no tirar a la basura el potencial por una gerencia peor que mediocre.

Está virtualmente vacío el hostal pero le suben el precio a la noche por los eventos en la ciudad. La propiedad sigue en deterioro y ni siquiera han removido el moho de algunos baños. Está muy descuidado.

Excelente ubicación pero...

Desafortunadamente mi estancia no fue muy grata por personas que se quedaban en la terraza hasta la hora de cierre (mucha música y fiesta) que desafortunadamente por el ruido no nos permitían dormir (no fui el único caso que no pude descansar).
Así que como recomendación para el hostal es que las áreas comunes tengan un horario de cierre más temprano (sobre todo la terraza, si los huéspedes quieren fiesta, sería prudente que mejor vayan a algún bar).
Y a los huéspedes les recomendaría tener más respeto por los demás

Sigue siendo un lugar aceptable para estar; es increíble como siempre hay huéspedes latosos y el personal pareciera estar de adorno. En ésta ocasión, mi cama me la entregaron sucia, con migajas y una bolsa de Doritos entre el colchón y la madera. Nunca rellenaron el jabón del baño, ni pusieron más papel higiénico.Le pedí al chico de recepción que callara a un huésped que puso su celular a todo volumen en la madrugada y nada, tuve que callarlo yo unos minutos después. ¿Tengo que ser yo el que haga cumplir las reglas en el hostal?

Recomendaría que quienes trabajan estén más familiarizados con la CD. Debido a que desconocen las calles o lugares o simplemente no dan la información que se solicita para ir al zócalo o lugares concurridos.
El horario debió vencer a la 3pm pero comentaron que a las 12 era la limpieza y tenía que desocupar el cuarto.

Excelente hostal, terribles huéspedes. Maldigo al sujeto que se puso a fumar a las 3 am en el patio del cuarto “Escultores” pensando que nadie lo iba a notar y que nos fumigó con sus humos. Me salió una pequeña cucaracha en el baño, quizás sería bueno tapar las coladeras en la noche.

Los letreros que piden cerrar la puerta de las habitaciones están de adorno y hasta el personal las deja abiertas. Me gusta el lugar pero no que no se apliquen las reglas.

Nos asignaron la habitación “Máximiliano” que está justo en el patio central por lo que se escuchaba demasiado ruido (voces, el timbre, bullicio,etc) habitación bastante amplia pero le hace falta un poco de mantenimiento, las toallas estaban sucias con manchas de no sé cuánto tiempo, podría mejorar
