The hotel is located next to La Ropa beach, just 5 minutes from the quiet fishing village of Zihuatanejo and 20 minutes from the international airport. Discover the most intimate and romantic hideaway surrounded by the ocean.

Breathtaking views of Zihuatanejo's bay welcome you at every step, framed by the hotel's arches and spacious terraces. Our multi-level architecture built with palapas, tropical woods and decorated with carefully selected Mexican handicrafts, will give you a sense of traditional Mexico.

Take a swim in our infinity pool, the perfect fusion of the bay with the sky, or experience our saltwater pool, surrounded by natural rock formations. The rooms have been individually decorated.

With vibrantly colored Mexican art items, hand-painted furniture, motifs, sirens and birds magically spread on your bed, formed with aromatic petals and fresh tropical leaves. All oceanfront rooms have a large private terrace, living room, king-size bed, air conditioning, radio alarm clock, bathrobes, amenities, ceiling fan, Internet access, desk, extra beds available, hairdryer, iron, minibar, cosmetic mirror, daily newspaper, purified water system, safe, slippers, smoke detectors, fire system and telephone.

Non-smoking rooms can be booked. In the garden, there is a freshwater pool and a saltwater pool.

The gym is equipped with cardiovascular equipment and weights, where you can practice aerobics and pilates, or relax with a massage. In addition, you can play tennis, cycling, horse riding or water sports on the beach outside the hotel.

The staff is wonderful. The resort is beautiful. Our favorite place to relax was at the saltwater pool. The food in the restaurant was excellent - they received a James Beard award in 2024z. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The resort is quiet, very quiet. Walk to the beach, walk to downtown shops and restaurant. Or, you can do what we did - mostly we soaked up the unbelievable ocean views visible throughout the resort, and lounged. We spent a lot of time sunning and relaxing. Can hardly wait until our next visit!

BEST THINGS: natural beauty of the hotel and property, quiet, infinity pool is really special, check in was easy, and the view is spectacular! Its label as one of the best boutique hotels in the world is well deserved. Catering to couples, the service provided at the 25 room property is impeccable. The on-site restaurant, Mar y Cielo, has the best dinner in the whole town and the views are unmatched in Zihuatanejo.

Room:
The rooms are spread out amongst 3 buildings and grouped into 4 tiers, with the owner’s penthouse being the sole room in the top tier. We stayed in the second highest tier which include the 10 rooms with private infinity pools. The room experience is so well designed that you literally do not need to ever leave your room or see any other humans if you prefer.

Service:
The goal is to anticipate and tend to your needs without marring the sense of isolated serenity that the hotel provides. Every single member of the staff excels at this goal. I cannot imagine a single way the service could be improved.

Dining:
Mar y Cielo has incredible dinner options with seafood specials daily. Dinner is open to the public but reservations not needed outside of high season. The views from the restaurant are second only to the penthouse views. Lunch and breakfast are for guests only but we found better breakfast options in town and seldom ate lunch at all. Shout out to Venus for his incredible service as a waiter.

Apart from having impeccable views, it is also within easy walking distance to town and only 100 meters from Playa La Ropa via a private entry

We loved our 4 night stay at this 5 star hotel! We went in early October and unfortunately, we didnt realize that since it's the off season some restaurants don't open up. This did, however, mean that we were one of the only couples at the hotel, which was nice.

Playa la Ropa is about a 6 min walk down some steps next to the hotel. There are a few restaurants along the beach there which was great. We also walked about 20 or so minutes into the town area on the North. There's one steep area that we walked everyday but other than that this location is absolutely beautiful. We plan on coming back.

I have to admit, I’ve had Zihuatanejo and the La Casa Que Canta on my bucket list for many years. My expectations were not only met, but exceeded in every possible way.
The location is perfectly located within easy walking distance of both La Ropa Beach and downtown shopping and nightlife.
This resort has the perfect combination of amenities and natural beauty. Unsurpassed views of the ocean and city lights.
Our Master pool suite was so perfect, we never felt like we needed to leave as the resorts room service and it’s staff were all so eager to take care of anything we wanted.
We’ve spent over thirty years looking for the perfect spot and La Casa Que Canta and Zihuatanejo are now our favorite and we can hardly wait for our next trip to this paradise on earth.

The attention to detail is Amazing! Since we are from the U.S. they actually have maintenance change the electrical outlets to the 110 style so we don’t need an adapter. The books in the suite were all changed to English language books,

I never review places I visit or stay, but I had to leave some comments about my recent stay at La Casa Que Canta. This was one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying.

I was contacted a couple of days before my scheduled arrival and was informed that the neighboring property to the hotel was undergoing a renovation, so the staff offered to move me and my fiancé to their Villa Ensueno on the beachfront to minimize any possible disturbance. This was just the start of the things they did to accommodate us. They also offered to move us to a larger space at the Villa Ensueno once another party vacated. Both spaces were amazingly comfortable and private. We very rarely saw any other guest on our entire visit.

The food at the hotel restaurant, Mar y Cielo, showcased local flavors and was always delicious. The staff went above and beyond and I am honored to thank them by name. Thank you to Teresa, Adriana, Ramona, Yesenia, Irving, Isabel, Fredi, Venustuvio, and my main-man Jose Luis. You should all be very proud of what you have created there. Apologies if I didn't get all of your names right or left anybody out. You were all wonderful. Cheers.

I appreciate that we were told right from the beginning not to tip, that it would be added as 10% in the final bill. This hotel is amazing. Very quiet and unique. Service leaves absolutely no complaints. Anything you want or need will be taken care of.
The only critique is the transportation offered. It is not super clear that this is only one way (pick-up from the airport). I assumed it was round trip for the price, also a bit my fault for not making sure.
All in all we had a great time and will be back.

Aside from the “good bones” of the traditional and eco friendly structure of the hotel and it’s cool comfortable rooms, and the stunning views, the place really achieves excellence thanks to its staff and service. Laura, Venustiano, Irving, and Freddie were all so excellent to us during our stay. They and the rest of their colleagues in reception, dining, and housekeeping are truly professionals in hospitality. They made airport pick up and drop off, a taxi errand, and covid tests in the lobby so easy. They made poolside, restaurant, and room service experiences so pleasant and delicious. The food here is wonderful. The amenities are thoughtful. The views (day and night) and nearby Playa La Ropa are truly paradise. We hope to come back every year!

We chose La Casa que Canta for our wedding ceremony and honeymoon and it was a paradise on the bay of Zihuatanejo. The pictures do not adequately describe the landscape and how beautiful the property and views actually are.

Overall, the stay and the staff were amazing and we would definitely go back for future vacations. The staff was very caring and attentive throughout our stay and we felt personally taken care of throughout our stay. The suite exceeded our expectations and was truly a honeymoon experience.

The food at Mar Y Cielo was excellent and would recommend to anyone staying in Zihua, with a revolving menu, fresh seafood and breathtaking views.

Finally, we would absolutely recommend for anyone looking to hold a Wedding Ceremony on the premises. Dina and Teresa helped us to plan a magical night and took care of all of the details, and it was better than we could have imagined.

The only feedback we have is regarding the cleaning schedule and the Air Conditioning in our unit. The cleaning of our room was during odd times and was inconsistent throughout the day - some days would be very early in the morning and other days late afternoon when were actually in the room trying to relax and unwind before the evening.
The air conditioner in our room was also very loud (and very much needed in the July heat) and made it difficult for a full nights sleep. Despite these two items, we give 5 stars and can't wait to go back!!

Unexpected delight

First time to Zihuatanejo and with covid we were looking for a something chill and relaxing. We splurged and got a room with a pool which was unbelievably nice as a way to limit contact when we wanted to. The hotel staff was great even going so far as to get my almond milk from town bc I’m allergic to dairy so I could have my morning latte each day without getting sick. The restaurant was great for all meals and we ate lunch there every day and did dinner there 2x. Beautiful stay.

One of those places that need to be pointed out as an example what a romantic resort hotel should be all about while trying to keep this place as a secret! Simply beautiful by architecture and design; astonishing by room service and attention to room detail; lastly, if you think eating fish 6 evenings in a row on the same open air terrace overlooking the ocean must be awful boring you haven’t tried the in-house restaurant, accompanied by impeccable service. Trust them in your wine selection. If you like the la Luna in Grenada, the Ladera In st. Lucia, etc. this is the place for you and your spouse to rediscover yourself.
