Hotel Las Salinas is run by a wonderful family who are very nice and attentive to your needs. The rooms are simple but have everything you need, including a fridge, stovetop and even Roku TV. The location can't be beat! 10 minute walk to downtown, 2 minute walk to a convenience store with all your needs, and 1 minute walk to pastor tacos, my favorite! The reception has a lovely little plunge pool that is kept clean. Would highly recommend!

This hotel is ok. You can’t expect too much at this category of hotel. It’s just across the street from the main Centro of Zihua, so the location is good. There aren’t a lot of extras though - it’s a budget hotel and that’s what you get. Clean enough, comfortable enough. A little worn. The fridge and 2-burner cooktop are helpful, with sink. (Didn’t use).

The hotel charged twice for DEPOSIT - When I booked on November 9,2022 and When I checked in on Feb.27,2023.
They denied it and no checking for the record of November 2022 money transaction??? I had to check with my bank about the transaction when I got back and YES, the hotel charged twice of deposit . My bank will cancel a transaction of Feb.27.2023.
I asked to refund if I stay 2 nights instead of 9 nights and the hotel refused so I had to stay 9 nights, no choice!!
It was very unpleasant experience !!!
It was not worth for 1,000 peso ( over 70 CAD )/night.
I blame myself that I made a mistake to choose Hotel Las Salinas.
Expedia tried to resolve my issues but it was out of their hands.

The owner was very attentive and quick to react to any situation. A minor glitch in our air conditioning and he had it fixed immediately. The chain broke on the handle of the toilet, inside the tank. He had it fixed immediately. Would go back anytime.

Hotel Las Salinas offers great value for the money. It is a family run hotel and Christian and his son Jose go the extra mile to make sure the guests are well taken care of. The free cold purified water is really great. I was surprised that the hotel also carries the NFL Network so I was able to watch the playoff games. Overall this is the best value in a hotel I’ve experienced in my life.

Hotel Las Salinas is a great place to stay if you're traveling on a budget or if you want to get away from big chain hotels. As someone who has stayed in all inclusive hotels, I like Hotel Las Salinas because it's a place that feels like home. Another way to put it is \"cozy\". It's a very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is not too far away from the central market, maybe a 7 min. walk. If you go just around the corner form the hotel you will find an amazing taco joint that is only open at night. If you are adventurous as I am, Hotel Las Salinas allows oneself to emerge in the culture. You get to experience Zihuatanejo on a whole other level.

Near lots of good restaurants.. Very helpful staff. Traffic is a bit noisy as are the barking dogs. It gets pretty quiet at night. We appreciated the included drinking water. AC works very well. Tiny room, but it was all we needed.

The hotel has friendly staff and is close to the city center and beautiful beaches. The room I stayed in is comfortable and quiet. However it would be even better if a light breakfast is provided to the guests and the shower room has a small bottle of shampoo. But overall I had a great time.

Unless you can sleep in a dog pound avoir this place. Also you need to be comfortable on coil springs because this is your cheap mattress.
This place is overrated and way too expensive for what they offer .
Worst Expedia looking in years !!! It should be off the list!

Perfect place for us.

The family that owns/runs the hotel are wonderful, super helpful. The room was clean and the staff changed the sheets every couple of days. There was an OXXO nearby for early morning coffee. The walk to the Marina was only about 10 minutes and mostly shaded. Cheap street food breakfast right around the corner. The price was perfect. We were on the 3rd floor and the internet worked fantastic, we were able to stream movies on Netflix simultaneously.
We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed only 1 night. Stray dogs barking constantly kept us up all night. A metal work shop is loud & smelly in the a.m. Very small room with nowhere to put our things. They have internet. A/C was loud & controlled only by plugging in & unplugging. No available outlets. Dark room with small window. Located in city centre far from beach. Family running it seemed nice. Would never stay there again! We wanted out of there so fast we forgot to take photos.

Christian the proprietor of Las Salinas is a great guy,very helpful to us gringos and has some great stories.There is a great Taco stand with the coldest beer in Mexico just down from the hotel. Friendly locals.

Only stayed one night before moving to our resort. The hotel is in a sketchy part of town. It was very clean and the owner made sure it was secure by installing a iron gate. The room is very basic.

Friendly Welcome and Nice Stay!! Overall Great!!

We chose a standard room and this was fine for our needs which were a comfortable place to sleep and rest. Housekeeping did a great job making sure the room was clean each day and the bed made. Toiletries could be better as we were only given 2 very small bars of soap on the first day, but none where left in the room after. Shampoo and conditioner would be a nice addition.
The pool though small was clean and a nice cool dipping spot to refresh and relax after the beach.

Location is quiet and sleep was easy. Comfortable bed and air conditioning.
Easy access to the center on foot or you can easily catch a taxi or local bus/ van

I would stay here again and recommend to anyone who wants a clean simple place to relax and sleep after a long day out and about.

First time to Ixtapa-Zih.......so had to choose accomodations ahead of time with Expedia. Wanted something close in for convenience and more grass roots rather than extravagant American, have that all time at home!! Once through customs at airport, which was a breeze, ever any questions, just ask even Mexican officials as they are friendly and helpful. The taxis outside is best to get verbal price up front, have your address where you are going handy and shop a bit?? we did and saved quite a bit, dont be shy. greeted at hotel by a Frenchman! Christian is owner with his wife and kids. He speaks 4 languages and his older 2 sons are bilingual as well as polite. they help their dad run the business and someday hope to continue with his aspirations. we were late one day but he told us no problem that they were waiting for us, and they were. nice, quiet and clean with a small pool to refresh yourself at while chatting with other visitors, staff, or family. they make you feel apart of something greater than yourself without imposing anything. close to shopping and food all walking distance or go on tour with bus or taxi. really enjoyed our stay

Only positive things to say about our stay at Hotel Las Salinas. We stayed in the Family Suite and the entire suite was comfortable and clean. The hotel is very close to many restaurants, stores, and the beach. We also really liked the small pool in the hotel lobby. Couldn't believe we got such a great hotel for such an affordable price.

The manager and the rest of the staff were amazing. The manager helped us get in contact with our airlines (because we spoke very little spanish), hailed cabs for us so that we wouldn't get overcharged, recommended good restaurants, and was available at all times whenever we had a request.

Overall, this hotel was awesome, and we recommend it very highly!!! We had a great time in Zihuatanejo.

Good economy hotel

This hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the beach and various artisan outlets. We stayed 10 days. Owner was very helpful (replaced a thinner mattress the first day) and gave good advice on getting to various places. The hotel has basic rooms but they are clean, quiet and functional (my wife and I spent most of our time out exploring). Ours had a fridge and stove that allowed us to cook some of our own food. The pool is really too small (and more or less in the lobby) to really enjoy. We strongly recommend it for those on a limited budget.
Enjoy the 24 km long Cyclopista (awesome bike path through forest) in nearby Ixtapa; snorkelling at Las Gatas, and more distant Isla Ixtapa (40 minutes on local bus); morning kayaking at nearby Barra de Potosi (lots of birds/ fish).

Small , family owned hotel. Local buses pass right in front. Rented a three bedroom suite which was adequate at best. It was on the 3rd story, no elevator, no bellhop. It was a bit grimy, doors could use a good wipe down/better yet a coat of paint-cob webs in ceiling. The pool is the size of a king size bed- you'll smile when you see it. Air conditioning in each room. Owner came around & turned on/off A/C in living room, one was not allowed to have the A/C controller ? Room was sparsely furnished, bath towels/toilet paper felt like sandpaper, two star rating would be a push in my opinion. Inexpensive , Habitable but next time we'll pass on this place.

This hotel is located about 10-15 minute walk to the beach, restaurant area and downtown. It is in a neighborhood that is quiet and safe for walking to the touristy area or beach. My room was in the back of the hotel, very quiet and quite spacious. While basic it was comfortable and well worth the price point. There was a nearby Oxxo and other small neighborhood stores for buying drinks and snacks. The owner Christian could not be more helpful with advice and directions and will address any concerns you might have about your stay. A comfortable basic hotel at a good price.

Requested coffee pot, toaster,fridge and stove. Balcony if possible. Only got fridge. So had to eat most meals out unexpectedly. Owner did buy instant coffe and styrofoam cups which we appreciated. Also brought us a hot plate. No dishes or silver wear in our room. Some in common kitchen, but not nearly enough for number of people staying there. We improvise a lot, but some dishes, pots and silver wear should be in rooms and something to cook on.

Plain and simple.

This is a family owned and run hotel. There's a small pool in the lobby. Within walking distance of the beach as well as many shops and restaurants. The rooms are nothing fancy, but with a beach so close why do you eat to sit in your room anyway? No screens in the windows, but we kept ours shut with the AC running when we were in the room. They cleaned the room, made the bed and took out the trash daily. There is a small TV in the room with mostly spanish channels but 2 or 3 in English. But again why do you want to sit and watch tv when you're on vacation? The staff was the best part, very friendly and accomodating! There's a water dispenser that gives both hot and cold water and the owner puts instant coffee/cream/sugar and cups out for a few hours in the morning too. Overall, for the price we paid, I'd go back to this hotel and id recommend it to anyway needing a place to rest there head at night!

this is a great family run hotel. Christian & his family went to great lengths to make my stay a wonderful experience, they even ordered me pizza one nite. I do not spend a lot of time in my room when travelling, I am always rambling about, so this was a great central place to hang my hat. The staff were very helpful with ideas of where to go and what to see as well as how much things should cost. THANK YOU AGAIN Christian & family!!!. If I return to Zihua this is where I will stay.

Great for what we wanted

The hotel is walking distance to all the relevant beaches, mercado, paseo de pescador, and downtown. Next to residential area so there are also local shops, bakeries, taco shop, and fruit bar. If you would rather be in slick hotels go to Ixtapa. If you want to know Zihua, this may be for you. Would suggest apartment if staying more than a few days for the comfort of a fridge, stove and kitchen table ( to drink cervesas around in the AC).

Not worth the money

My main complaint is that the hotel is not worth the money. We paid approximately $50 CAD, more than both the beautiful colonial hotel in Patzcuaro and the charming boutique hotel in Morelia that we stayed in on this trip. Our room faced the street which was really noisy. There were bars on the windows and it was very cramped. The location was good and the English speaking owner (?) was helpful.

The owner was incredibly nice and accommodating. Best I can tell he shoals Spanish, English, German, and French. I was on the third floor with no elevator. Room had AC, but took several hours to get comfortably cool. Hot and cold water on demand with two small bath towels. Soap was provided, but no shampoo, washcloths, or hand towels in the room. Immaculately clean, but low light. Very easy walk to central market area. A pleasant budget stay in a pinch.

Very Authentic Hotel with wonderful owners!

The place to stay if you are looking for true Mexican Hospitality!! The owners are wonderful and go out of their way to make you feel at home in this quaint hotel. It was exactly what I was looking for, no frills, living with locals and lots of laughter!! We stayed here for 8 days and felt very safe no matter where we went or what time of day. 6 blocks to the beach & shops..GREAT margaritas and local people along the way. If you are looking for lots of obnoxious tourists...go to Ixtapa. We spent 11 days at an all inclusive there, getting pushed, stepped on and having to get up at 445am to save a seat at the pool. Horrible..it was like a job for 11 days. My hotel of choice will always be Hotel Amueblados, where they make you feel like family. I hope to make this my stop every year for a least 3 weeks. Many thanks to Christian & Ebby for a very memorable stay.

I loved Hotel Salinas. Christian- the owner- and his family were terrific, very helpful with directions, recommendations for things to do, understanding reasonable prices to pay for services in the area, etc. I am a single female, and was solo for a few days before my friends joined me, but felt extremely safe with walking everywhere- even at night. Hotel is tastefully done, extremely clean, and great service. It is located in the edge of a local neighborhood so you get the real feel of Mexico. Just a short walk to great shopping and the beach. This is not a resort type place, so if that's what you want, better to go down the road to La Ropa and pay the high prices. If you want personalized service with a true Mexican experience, Hotel Salinas is your place. I will stay with Christian and his family again. - Kathy, Alaska

I was greeted warmly by Hotel Las Salinas zihuat owner Christian on my arrival. He and his wife and entire family were all very friendly and helpful. Christian speaks four languages..he was always around to help with translations as i dont speak spanish. The hotel was perfect..located close to downtown sbopping market, beaches, and restaurants. Very clean and quiet as well. My room had cold ac, steady hot water, nice TV w cable, and comfy bed. Best bang for your buck without a doubt in all of Zihuat !!!!!

My wife, son and I had an enjoyable 4-day stay at Hotel Las Salinas.The staff were helpful and friendly. The owner speaks French, English, and Spanish. The hotel and our room were immaculately clean and decorated and painted bright cheerful Mexican colors. Finally, unlike another budget hotel we stayed at in Zijua, it's actually very quiet at night thanks to being located block off the main street.

SOLO REVISAR EL AGUA CALIENTE EN LAS HABITACIONES, PUES NO HAY RESPUESTA INMEDIATA Y SE GASTA MUCHA AGUA. SI HAY HORARIOS PARA UTILIZAR EL SERVICIO DE AGUA CALIENTE ES NECESARIO PRESISAR A LOS CLIENTES. BUSCAR UNA MEJOR UBICACION DE LA TV PUES SE VEN DISTORCIONADAS LAS IMAGENES DESDE LA CAMA. COLOCAR ALGUNAS SILLAS Y MESAS PLEGABLES PEQUEÑAS EN LA HABITACIÒN PARA OBTENER UN MEJOR CONFORT.EN LO GENERAL UN HOTEL BONITO,ACOGEDOR CON MUY BUENA UBICACIÒN Y COONFORTABLE!!! RECOMENDABLE PARA AQUELLOS QUE QUIEREN DISFRUTAR DE ZIHUA E IR AL HOTEL A DESCANSAR Y ASEARSE, ECONOMICO,DISCRETO, FAMILIAR Y CON UNA MUY BUENA ATENCIÒN!!!

Me gusto que tuvimos algunos inconvenientes con la habitación y al final lo resolvieron, lo que no me gustó que tratarán de justificar el inconveniente con una cucaracha y que goteara el aire acondicionado, pero resolvieron al final
