The music on the grass was very loud and made it hard to sleep. The only thing that was worse was a night with a wedding on the beach. At 12:00am I finally called the front desk and they said they couldn’t do anything about it. Even though it was a Hyatt event.

Excellent stay at Sunscape Dorado Pacífico Ixtapa! The facilities were very well maintained, the service was outstanding, the food was good, and the shows were enjoyable. The weather was beautiful, and the spa massages were excellent. I would especially like to recognize Emanuel, Luis, and Saúl, who provided exceptional service as waiters—always attentive, friendly, and professional.

As feedback, I would suggest improving safety in the pool area with the water slides. The landing zone should have floating barriers or buoys, as people coming down the slides can accidentally hit others swimming below who are unaware. Additionally, on March 25, 2026, around 4:00 pm, at the pool with the two slides, I witnessed a concerning situation where a young child (around 5 years old) slipped into the pool and struggled while his mother was calling for help. The lifeguard nearby did not react or notice the situation, and the child was ultimately helped by his sibling. I believe lifeguards should be more attentive and proactive in ensuring guest safety.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience and truly enjoyed our stay.

The resort had great staff!!! The staff was very attentive as soon as we stepped out of the taxi we were greeted by Richie after that we check in with Karla in the VIP area as Expedia customers we had exceptional service.
Our concierge Oswaldo Diaz gave us excellent service and arranged a romantic dinner for us on the beach. We celebrated 30 years of marriage. We had our own personal waiter (Margarito) for two hours on the beach. He was wonderful and made us feel very comfortable.
We ate at Da’ Mario two nights we had one of the best waiters Jose Luis Rogar. He went beyond and above from start to end. All the staff were friendly and attentive.

En general es bueno, las áreas limpias, las habitaciones son cómodas solo con algunos detalles de falta de mantenimiento, el acceso a la playa es muy cómodo y las albercas limpias, el personal se esmera en una buena atención. Los detalles en contra, si es temporada alta hay que hacer fila en los comedores, particularmente para desayunar en el buffet, la comida cumple, sin llegar a ser muy buena, el restaurante italiano es rico, pero la carta es muy limitada. Lo peor, el horario de las actividades, a las 5:00pm ya no hay actividades de juegos, tenis, etc. ya que a esa hora se van los animadores, la alberca la cierran a las 7:00pm, por lo cual después de ese horario no hay mucho que hacer para niños y jovenes. Para adultos solo el Bar.

This resort is in a perfect location. Easy quick walk to shopping, other restaurants, groceries. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The SunClub is a nice touch for selective drinks, snacks and seating. Raymundo and Simon at the swim up bar are the very best. Lots of activities and entertainment if you chose.

Upon arrival you are greeted with smiles and helpful staff to gather luggage and help you to check you in. English speaking friendly staff in the front of the hotel. Unfortunately you are then inundated with staff required to offer you specials and deals they offer through the hotel, and do not take “no” for an answer easily. Throughout the rest of your stay anytime you walk through the front to the elevator to get to your room, you will be offered deals and promotions. This gets very tiresome over a weeks time. The hotel itself is dated and was constantly being under repair in various spaces throughout the hallways and ceilings.
The amazing part about this hotel is the staff and food. I am vegan and was worried about not having choices during my weeks stay, But I had nothing to worry about. The chefs prepared special breakfast, and dinners for me everyday upon request. The food was always fresh and delicious. Served with love and care.
The staff there was amazing and I’d love to give a shout out to the people who made an impact during our stay.

We stsyed just one night to enjoy Superbowl. Party was wonderful, service excellent, food so so, drinks plentiful and very average, typical all inclusive.
Problem with people reserving lounges around pool still persists.
Overall this is a typical all inclusive, rather average wigh very nice staff.

The restaurants are not staffed to properly accommodate the volume of guests. The pool was dirty and the floor of the pool was damaged in several areas. Many wanted to play water vollyball but the balls were waterlogged and extremely heavy. For a large resort to NOT replace a $10 volleyball is a bad look. The maid staff was very friendly, and hard working. The restaurant servers and the food truck employees were doing the jobs of two people, which made service very poor. The food quality is a bit less than average, The bell hops, and doormen were great. The servers working the coffee bar/snack stand were all very nice. The property needs to be refurbished, the only redeeming quality is the hard working staff. The concierge was excellent!

First time staying at this resort and it was absolutely awesome!! The staff is so friendly and eager to please their guests. My partner and I were treated excellent. Nayelli the bar waitresses was incredibly kind and attentive. Our pool side waiters Ignacio and Alexander were also very kind and attentive. They walk away saying “my pleasure.” The fish tacos and the hot dog (gourmet) at the snack truck were delicious!! I thought the buffet’s were well maintained and the food was good. Remember to tip your service workers!!

This is our 3rd time to this exact resort and we love it. Safe and can cross street into downtown to visit other entertainment establishments (Frank's Bar, etc. Staff is friendly and helpful. The property is central and even distance between ZUI and Playa Linda, both of which I like to go when I stay. You can walk across the street for shopping, music and food. The options are great. The transportation is wonderful. So easy to take the bus, taxi or walk. People, staff and locals alike were very nice and willing to help. I would recommend staying.

A very aloof approach to customer service. Also property claims to be “all inclusive” and then everything is an additional fee including Internet, room service, etc. Also, food was TERRIBLE! Consistently bland across the board. Many of us felt this way; I wasn’t alone. We also had an incident where my son was bullied by resort staff to pay a taxi driver 200 pesos for returning a lost wallet. They called him a “baby.” It was a terrible experience.

The service was amazing and the whole atmosphere of this hotel was inviting since we arrived. The one bad experience was the food. None of the food was an authentic mexican taste. They serve chilaquiles but didnt have a taste is was just plain tomatoe sauce with tortillas and onion and they drownednit in crema and cheese to make it taste better. They had no tortillas handmade, no carne asada or pollo asado for like buffet style tacos and salsa either. No chile verde, no chips and salsa, no guacamole. They serve different foods chicken, meat pork, salad and fruits and breakfast buffets but the buffets and a la cart restaurant did not have any good food. The da mario restaurant they have we tried 5 different plates and nothing had a taste of wow it was just basic. The staff was amazing especially the server at the coffee bar she always had a inviting and welcoming attitude and you could tell she made a great effort to pearn english. She made my kids feel welcomed and learn to ask in spanish which i loved. The pools are great and all the servers while in the hotel are very attentive. They have alot to offer and I wish we had a better experience with the food to come back because my family loved it. We didnt even want to leave the hotel to explore Zihuatanejo they madenit worth are entire stay with the hospitality and entertainment at the hotel.

I wrote a great review the first day after a great check in and nice welcoming room but that was it. There after it was disappointing even upsetting due to rudeness and condescending treatment from some staff members..at check in I asked, and was offered the required travel covid19 test for free ..but was asked to pay $50 usd. When i tried to make the appt., To have it done, I wast told \"sorry for the miss- information, its free to long stay customers only \". I also was humiliated and singled out at the italian, ala carte restaurant for wearing crocks when many were being admitted wearing flip flops, i was boldy treated by the 2 young hosts at of the restaurant and the manager told me to step aside, that I was \"wearing plastic shoes \"!!!. He asked me to leave and ignored me when I pointed out that others flip flops were also plastic. After complaining to the on duty Mgr. Whom was nice and sympathetic, a nice but unrequested dinner was sent to my room...I felt as if I was a lectured and grounded child who was being fed in her room after getting in trouble...it was disgusting...i was traveling solo and felt miserably treated. Half of the staff were wonderful, mostly the ones who did labor, the others, such hosts and desk staff are rude. sorry won't be back nor will i recommend it.

This our 3rd time in Ixtapa, 2nd at the Sunscape and we will plan to return soon. Ratings are a little lower this year on the staff and service only because a lot of things at the resort were shut down because of the lack off people on vacation-coronavirus. No fault of Sunscape’s management, but service by select staff individuals could have been better. I’m chalking that up to the virus as well.

Beautiful location. Staff is very friendly. We are told we have a partial view of the ocean....reality is, you can see water, but the view is more of the hotel next door. Very disappointing. Food is not good quality or varied. The resort continues to take away space of the average guest. They hold chaise lounges for members only of the Unlimited club. While we were there, we only saw one person using it. So many chaises lounges were not being used. There needs to be a larger area for adults only. Children were everywhere. The entertainment was less than acceptable compared to the past years. We have been patronizing this resort for several years and because of this past January's experience we are going to go somewhere else next year. Very dissatisfied.

I can count more cons than pros let’s start there.
-When booking this hotel you must let them know how many people are staying at the room so they can be included in the “all inclusive” There is an extra charge for all the people you don’t include.
-Other guests that are not staying in the same hotel cannot go in at all unless they purchase a day pass if there is any available that day. My parents were staying at another hotel and they were not let in without payment of any type. You cannot have visitors. Beach access you must check in with guard that is guarding the pool side area & when leaving the hotel you must also check out with the security guard.
-All inclusive is a false advertisement there is many things that are not included, All you have access to is free breakfast & I didn’t even go to dinner possible charge.
-Room wise, pictures are very deceiving our room had bed bugs & also saw a cockroach coming out of the drain. Great view of the beach ! Beds were not comfy & cleanliness was not as great.
- Pools close early usually when the sun goes down and also the beach.
Great location accessibility to a nice beach with wonderful sellers and tourists.
Will not be coming back to this hotel. Nice staff overall very informative.

The staff and service is great. This was our 5th year at this resort. We have gotten to know some of the staff members. Geovani is such a great server on the beach. Fredy is a great concierge. He helped us for the last 2 years to celebrate birthdays. Simon and Raymondo at the swim up bar are always smiling. Muriel and Liz at the buffet were helpful in teaching us some Spanish words (our room number). Benito, Noe and Gilberto were always eager to get us whatever we needed (bacon).
The fridge in our room wasn’t working when we arrived. We called and it was switched out in 5 minutes. The one that it was switched out for still wasn’t that cold, but we were able to get ice.
We go across the street to try the local restaurants, so we don’t eat dinners at the buffet, but We went to DeMarios twice. The menu has changed and heard that the head chef has changed. It has been a good change. We enjoyed both of our meals. Roger was a great server.
The palapas on the beach need some maintenance. We were disappointed that they didn’t have the curtains on them any more. It’s hard to find shade in the middle of the day. Especially on the weekends when it is busier.
Overall, another great holiday and we will be back again next year.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff at the explorer kids club, though the activities and just okay not often would the kids want to go.most staff were very friendly. First of all the wait staff and all the service staff were wonderful.
Unfortunately I feel that the management took advantage of us. We had paid for an upgrade to a full ocean view. The hotel was full so they set us up in a partial view and said they would move us when a room became available or we could upgrade to a suite for additional cost. So we ended up staying in the room and were not reimbursed for the upgrade that we had paid for.

Pool too small, beach chairs limited and many palapa's were in poor condition. Food average, but plenty of good restaurants nearby. If you're used to newer all inclusive resorts in recently developed areas, this resort will disappoint. Beautiful beach to walk, weather was fantastic, staff is friendly and helpful, clean, nice place to stay to check out Ixtapa for our first time.

An easy fix

The hotel is very good - and here comes the two \"but's\":
1. Every single day, without fail at varying times but generally by 8 pm, they ran out of white wine. At both the lobby bar and all of the various restaurants? How can a hotel run out of such a basic drink? We don't really drink anything else so found ourselves having to buy our own wine across the road and run up and down to our room to replenish our drinks. This is unacceptable at an all inclusive resort where beer, tequila and wine should be as plentiful as eggs and bread is for breakfast!

2. The blue grill waiters are very disorganized (meals mixed up or forgotten completely). Our observation was the disorganization is due to the Maitre D' is not as present as he should be. The hostess is very good. On top of the tables being cleared so that she can seat those waiting in line but from that point it goes down hill. On our last night we sat for 20 minutes waiting to have our order delivered only to have a different waiter come and ask what we would like from the menu. Chaos. We left having only had one appetizer delivered and no drinks except a glass (one) of water.

If not for these two points this hotel would receive an excellent rating from us because we enjoyed our week with excellent weather and all in all a very good time.

The staff at Baracuda Bar were the best!

I loved the atmosphere in this hotel! Everything was great from the moment we arrived. The staff was friendly and their food options were great and delicious. One of the things that we really liked is that even though the hotel seemed to be at full capacity you never really felt crowded. Also, a big plus was that you don't have to make reservations for some restaurants like you do at other all-inclusive resorts. Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our time here. This will definitely not be our last time visiting this place.

Mary & I arrived Dec.20,2018. My husband shot & killed himself & the website said stress free. The atmosphere was very loud & it was to much for me. We didn't unpack & Expedia got us a room next door. I had to pay that hotel $2100 & sunscape doesn't want to give me a refund. So I'm being billed $2756.21& didn't unpack or stay there. It's been hard enough on me & I sent them his death certificate. Please refund me my money.help!!

The staff were great, the resort was well kept with the exception of the odd bathroom issue but they were quick to deal with it once informed. We did Sunclub and aside from the nice suite we had it truly is not worth the extra money.

Good location. Food was so poor we went out for dinner most evenings. Too many kids and no adult pool. 24 hr coffee/snack bar was not replenished after about 8pm. When we arrived we had to call maintenance for our room because the fridge nor the AC were working properly and the patio door needed to be repaired. Resort seems to cater to kids and Nationals. We will not return to this resort.
