Excellent location in the middle of a long stretch of level beach to walk and only steps from property.

Overall, it was a decent mid-range resort. The room, public areas, and pool were always very clean. Parts of the hotel are quite dated, however the buffet area has recently been renovated. Food at the buffet was cold each time we tried it. Breakfast was alright since we usually just ate fruit and yogurt, but we went out to eat for dinner each night.

During the week the resort was pretty quiet, so we didn't have any issue finding loungers by the pool or beach. However the resort got extremely busy with locals on the weekend and it was hard to find a spot to sit. The beach is beautiful.

Also note that free Wifi is not included, even in the all inclusive package! It is an extra cost.

Room was clean, very roomy, loved having the mini fridge stocked daily with water and drinks - very good drawing card having the mini fridge.
Suggestion: change the toilet seat so they fit the toilet (toilet seat too small for the toilet - at times got stuck)
Food: Breakfast was excellent; Snack shack was just okay - french fries always cold; ambience of snack shack not great - wish it was more outdoors
Suggestion: create theme nites to vary up the menu in evening dinners

I can’t complain about the service services was great the thing that was in bad condition was the bathroom the smell of humidity the sound of the toilet every time we flush after it had a sound like disinflating a balloon every 30 seconds for 2 minutes will last
One more thing I like coffee I could not get a coffee if i don’t seat at a table and not for room service at night time only morning time.

Ac was not cool no fans. Hot in room. Broken chair. Bathrooms was a mess water leaking out shower nonstop. Toilet whistled for minutes after flushing. Food was ok many options open bar. Except for top shelf. We had all inclusive. Security was a bunch of dick heads singling people out. For drink by the pool when others had the pool filled with open cups. Pool was nice easy access to ocean. Staff was accommodating when needed. Store for extra things if needed. Location was close to everything walking distance. For the amount of money spent it could have been a lot better. Also forgot they were remodeling and the drilling was right under my room.

If you are looking for a fun enjoyable trip for your family and friends, DO NOT stay at Tesoro. Terrible customer service. You were not allowed to have any food or drinks in the pool area. My husband was told to take off his shirt in the pool because it wasn't one that was used for sun protection. We were constantly watched when we were at the pool, we felt like we were back in grade school.

They also give out day passes to residents for the pool, so it was always full.

They have ONE restaurant for their \"all inclusive\" package that had terrible food. My family didn't eat there one time. It closes multiple times during the day, so it wasn't even an option half the time.

The only good thing about this place is they cleaned our room daily.

We were even told by the locals who provided our excursions that this was a terrible hotel and to never stay here.

Horrible experience. Do not go here.

The entire staff was beyond wonderful. Every staff member that I encountered was friendly and helpful. Many of them doing hard jobs, working long days, and their attitudes were excellent.

We arrived a little early and we’re put in Villa 13. The beachfront location was great, but the Villa was old and not well maintained. The hot water wasn’t hot, and the water pressure was only enough to use 1 bathroom at s time, even though we paid for 2. We spoke to the staff at the front desk about it, and they immediately sent a maintenance man over. He was able to turn up the temperature on the undersized water heater, but basically told us that he couldn’t do anything about the pressure. We were a group of 6, and there were other issues, so my wife and her sister, again, spoke to the front desk. This time they agreed to move us to a better unit. Villa 10. It was much better. Overall is was definitely satisfactory.

The buffet food with the all inclusive package was good. In fact the best I’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort. The dining room staff worked so hard to make sure that all guests were fed well and on time.

Again, I can’t say enough good things about the wonderful staff. Despite the facilities being dated, and problems at Villa 13, it was overall a pretty good stay.

Leí comentarios sobre la repetitividad de la comida, sin embargo, yo no noté eso, al contrario, muy buena variación de comida, y el restaurante de especialidades, ¡magnífico!
Por otra parte, la zona de playa enfrente del hotel muy bien cuidada, las áreas de comida con aire acondicionado, la piscina limpia, entre otras cosas muy buenas. Repito, ¡felicidades! 👏👏👏

Everything about the Tesoro was mediocre at best. Except for the staff! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Limited English but hey, we're in Mexico. Otherwise, the pool area was small and crowded, the food wasn't great and the rooms were very clean but not nicely appointed. The general impression was, the Tesoro had an idea what a resort needed but sort of phoned it in. Not quite up to par. Spend about $100 more per night and get a much better experience.

Depende mucho del conocimiento y experiencias con otros hoteles te puede parecer bueno o malo.

Pero en términos generales es un hotel que carece de buena alberca, un solo restaurante, la comida es muy repetitiva con poquísima variedad día a día, la playa se encuentra muy céntrica de la bahía lo que la mantiene con bandera negra la mayor parte de tiempo. We were lucky enough to get a junior suite. Room and balcony were very nice. Unfortunately we were only there for 1 night. The food and drinks were average. Lo que no me gusto es que no inlcuye el wifi, tienes que pagar más por este servicio. No tiene un bar dentro de la alberca, tienes que salir para ir por bebidas y siempre hay demasiada fila (y eso que casi no habia gente en el hotel).

La comida muy sabrosa, el mesero Fernando Barajas muy amable, super atento pregunten por el cuando vayan.

Worst place I've been to so far! It is hot inside the property, staff are way too slow at check in. Nobody greets/welcomes you nor do they help you get your luggage to your room. They dont show you around the facility. Drinks are terrible and not much to choose from. Lunch and dinner are the same, not much variety at the buffet. They serve you the fries and only give you about 5 fries at a time, regardless if you're an adult or a child. Absolutely no cotton near the pool or they will ask you to stay away from the pool. Made reservations for dinner and never got the dessert. No waiters at beach cabanas to offer drinks either. They also have very few towels at the pool. Not enough for everyone so they wont allow towels being taken to the rooms. Never coming back to this place and would not recommend to anyone. There are better places out there to choose from.

If you have kids, large family and vacationing on a budget, this is the place for you. There is nothing calm or private about this property. The property offers WI-FI with your all inclusive package but the signal only reaches the first floor and some of the windows/rooms surrounding the main lobby (the hotel needs to invest on improving signal if they are going to offer this service). The property should also limit the amount of drinks at the bar and discontinue the use of plastic cups, families approach the bar with 3 to 6 cups at one time, making the experience for other guests sitting at the bar uncomfortable. Staff is great. Thank you Dennis for all of your help!

We have been going to Tesoro for 17 years and will continue next year. So, that being said, the kid thing was a small price to pay for a great stay, hopefully covid will not last forever. Mexican charm! Luis, and all staff are so helpful, friendly & go out of there way to please. We love the staff, they are our family now after 14 years going back to the Tesoro. Mexican food is traditional, on a beautiful long beach, nice pool area, walking distance to everything in Ixtapa. Taxi, Bus to Zihu. close by. Security guard 24/7 very safe place to be. Good place to learn Spanish.

Hotel inclusive, not customer all inclusive , they do not stock mini fridge with alcoholic beverages so that means if i want to relax in my room I have to constantly get out , go to lobby bar and go back up to my room! Down ramp to pool bathrooms made of tile???!!!! 8 stiches later on my knee when the ramp is wet and slipped! I would think they would of known better to have a non slippery ramp for customers bathroom! Buffet was hit or miss, they serve you portions like they need to account for others and dont have enough, lobby restaurant was always at least a half and hour late to open, I unfortunately would never return,ever..

The fact that we have stayed at this hotel every year for over 15 years should tell you something. My only concern after this last visit is that the hotel is paying less attention to the English speaking visitors. The description of the food on the buffet frequently has no English translation. Announcements at the pool and at the evening programs are not in English, but the music in the programs is almost entirely in English which I think is ironic.

Property is old and desperately need a refurbishment. Original design of the property is great, just old and worn. Staff was helpful and fixed any problems quickly. Food was a total disappointment. Breakfast had a great omelet station and the chef was great and really fast. All other meals were basically the same for the week. Because of price, most of these things are not surprising. Next time I will pay 50% more and get a great value at a better place.

We are not the kind of people that like to complain,but our first room was terrible!
Air conditioning was noisy and not able to keep room cool. We had 2 DOUBLE beds with uncomfortable mattresses. It was very hard to get water left for us in our refrigerator )t was supposed to be filled every day) ,along with toilet paper for the bathroom.

The food was ok,but nearly all of the dishes were covered with red,green,or mole sauces. the fresh grilled fish was good tho,and was most of the other food specially prepared.

Dislikes: FOOD, building/rooms need some renovations/update/cleaning, poor selection of open bar drinks, never any availability to make reservations for the on-site restaurant, discrimination by pool security staff against Mexican/Hispanic visitors vs Caucasian guests.
Overall Tesoro looked much better on paper than it was in person. Food was awful. I never want to see another hot dog or potato again in my life. They sneak them into every single platter possible! Ixtapa was a nice location. I may be returning in the future but definitely not to the same hotel. In this case, I guess you get what you pay for.

Altho the property was not a 5 Star - but we were not expecting it to be from other reviews - the people and service certainly are!
The property area is immaculate and the building and food area is very clean which is important to us.
The Tesoro accommodates many of the locals from the interior to come out to the beach for the weekend - which makes it a busy place but again, the employees outdid themselves to keep all their guests happy.
