El hotel muy agradable y sobre todo uno se siente que conecta con la naturaleza, el staff muy amable siempre ,con respecto al servicio del bar te ofrecen bebidas desde la playa mismo sin tener que levantarse uno mismo y la playa fue lo que más nos gustó una vista paradisíaca!!

We loved our stay at the Villas. The Villa we were in had three different units which appeared to be typical of the other villas too. It was in a jungle-type setting with beautiful tropical plants, and even iguanas. My only caveat, we were in a unit on the third floor. The stairs up to the unit were winding, like climbing a lighthouse. We are in our 70’s and were able to do it, but I could certainly see where it would be very difficult for “older” folks or dangerous for children. So, be careful what you book. We didn’t know that was what we were going to get. Our unit didn’t have any type of balcony either which I missed. But it looked recently decorated and was clean and lovely. The beach was wonderful with plenty of lounge chairs for everyone.

The staff was very helpful and were attentive to any requests. The room was beautiful and spotlessly cleaned every day. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast daily and there was always a good variety of options including made to order eggs and Mexican specialties. The grounds and the beach club are amazing and the location allows for an easy walk to the centre of town. Highly recommend!

BAD EXPERIENCE..LOVE ISLAND..RUDE HOTEL STAFF!
First off, We are experienced travelers who have been to many resorts in Mexico. By far, this island is one of the best and the local people and food and atmosphere were absolutely wonderful, but the hotel staff were not.
First off, I paid a $165 dollar deposit to lock in the room for over a month. Multiple times I received emails verifying that I paid, and that I only owed $535 when I got to the hotel. When we go to the hotel, the front desk staff were not very nice, it was about 8:45 pm and for some reason they act like they are so busy and running a the entire hotel by themself. I was aware of the local tax, but I had to pay an additional $250 cash that I brought on top of the $500 taken from my card. Apparently, the $165 deposit was never taken. I didn't have time to argue, just a bad situation since cash is scarce on the island and I already had top fork out a substantial amount that I brought.
Second, staff is the most unfriendly people I have ever met, never saying hi when you pass them, couldn't even show us to our room and all they do is point in a direction if you ask for something. Never getting off their seat to show you. I have never been to a hotel where you don't befriend staff, we even speak spanish and appreciate all they do, nope not these people. NEED HELP WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Thirdly, they charge for everything you could think of. Every item you use, towels, extra blankets, sodas in fridge they want a credit card on file. Food no good!

We had a very pleasant stay at Villas Paraiso Del Mar. The staff was friendly and attentive, always making us feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the property is beautifully maintained with lush, well-kept grounds. The pool was great! Our stay included breakfast, which offered a nice variety of choices and was a great way to start the day. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The location couldn’t be better—right on the beach with stunning views. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping everything spotless and fresh. The food was not great. The coffee was terrible. The rooms had no towel bar or hook to hang towels or a bathing suit. Zero. No face towels either. An extra bath mat/towel for right when you walk into the room would be nice.

Food was so so, we picked all inclusive option and the menu wasn’t actually “all inclusive”. Servers near the beach were great 5/5. As well as the bar near the beach. The rooms were very clean.

El hospedaje fue único, el lugar está muy lindo y cómodo. Las habitaciones son muy amplias, si necesitan un poco de mantenimiento en algunas parte como por ejemplo en el baño que se ve en el techo que tiene humedad o las camas un poco más de limpieza profunda ya que las últimas dos noches amanecía con ronchitas.
El personal es muy amable siempre atentos y pendientes.
La zona de playa es bastante cómoda, lo mismo las zonas de albercas.
Si pueden no pierdan oportunidad de ir al spa y realizarse masajes las chicas son las mejores.

We liked the mastersuite, it was spacious and convenient on 2 floors and 2 bathrooms. The hotel is a older, maintaining a bug-free environment in the “jungle” is challenging, we understand. But after making an official complaint about some major problems in the room, it had no consequence, which is a poor service.

Great location with walkable access to both town and the more natural end of the beach. Great price with a wonderful buffet breakfast option. The room was very beautiful and comfortable.

There were a few things that seemed petty and inconvenient there. Minor issues, the trip was overall amazing and the staff was very friendly.
The two things that just seemed annoying was:
1. We went to go and rent bikes, the lady got them all un strapped etc. and then informed us, it was only 8:30AM and that they could not let us take them until 9AM. She had gone through the trouble of checking them out per paperwork and unhooked all that bikes, but couldn't let them go 30 mins early. The day before we had been informed that they could be rented out by 8AM.
2. Exchange for pesos- it would be nice if the hotel could offer this service, even for a fee.
3. The group of travelers that came during lunch, the number of them was not the issue, it was that they seemed to be extremely rude.

This is an underrated property. It has gorgeous, mature plants - something not found in other resorts. We loved the architecture, with grand palapas that felt like tropical Mexico. The facilities are in the process of being renovated, and our unit was quite lovely. The food is pretty good - we opted not for all-inclusive with the plan to explore options nearby but ended up eating most meals onsite because the back patio was a wonderful space and the staff were awesome (shout out to Hector, Karla, Juan, and the hostess!). And, a great amenity not to be overlooked: incredibly comfortable beach chairs. We wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else on Holbox!

Great property in a great location. I think the price is also reasonable. I love the Hotel and everything it has to offer. I think the only thing I would suggest would be having better beds with better pillows, and perhaps having some evening outdoor entertainment.

We used the buffet a lot. The food options were diverse and changed every time. The food was very savorous. There were plenty of drinking options included with the all-inclusive. The staff was very kind. The room was cleant every morning. The hotel is two minutes away from the beach. We definitely advise this hotel. That’d be great that Expedia proposes a package including the transfer from the airport to the hotel (taxi to Chiquilá, ferry from Chiquilá to Holbox, and taxi from Chiquilá’s port to the hotel) to make travellers’ life even easier.

The hotel needs urgent maintenance. The room shower was not cleaned properly. The pool ladder was loosen, concrete surrounding the pool was cracked. The restaurant buffet can be improved, poor offer and lack of flavor. The outdoor shower between the beach and hotel is a terrible safety hazard, the water stream was pointing everywhere but the floor, there was a power cord running next to the water pipe, huge risk of electrocution. The Tiki Bar staff got confused in two occasions what we ordered, by the way, we were talking the same language, Spanish which is my mother tongue, same as theirs. I would definetely go back to this hotel once those issues are corrected.

Very nice place for relaxing vacation, food was ok, the beach except the nasty black thing you have to walk before you go to the water is one of best I ever seen. Water is Cristal clear and full of sea life. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The location is BEAUTIFUL so close to the beach I love how it’s one of the less busy beaches which gives you that peace and relaxation. And if you want to do any tours need transportation food anything you can schedule or get all that there at the hotel. The staff was nice I had a great time staying here. I would definitely recommend. (I was iffy at first because it was one of the more older properties on the island but the pictures don’t do it justice!! Much better in person) there’s also some beach clubs and great restaurants less than a 5 minute walk from the property… anyways we loved it.

I loved how shady this property was and how close it was to the beach. It's nice to be able to seek refuge in the shade easily. The air conditioning and fan worked great. I also love how cute this property is. Everyone works hard to maintain it. It's nice that it's probably only a 10 minute walk to downtown from the beach, so great location and still quiet. My only criticism is having to sign every drink and food item I ordered. I thought it was interesting they give you bracelets to wear to let them know your all inclusive or whatever but they are constantly asking what room number you're in and to sign for the items you consumed. I think it's for tracking purposes but I found it a bit annoying. OVERALL I would definitely recommend this property.

The Positives :
1) Breakfast. Very nice breakfast , with lot of options that also get changed on a daily basis.

3) Rooms are large with enough place to put your luggage and the hammock in the balcony (if provided) is a nice touch !
Cons:
1) Lack of attention ? We reserved for two rooms and Ofcourse even messaged at the time of reservation for these together. Forget connecting rooms but the two rooms were like on either end of the resort ! No apolobgy or explanation given.
2) Mind you, not all junior suites have a Balcony! Even though advertised. One of the rooms has a balcony but twin beds, the other had a king but no balcony. Again, no explanation provided.
3) The AC was really straining itself to cool down the room (807). We didn’t complain as it didn’t bother us and put the fan on but in peak summer this is a problem.
4) If you’ve trouble climbing, most of their rooms are up a winding wooden staircase. Would have been nice if they would give us an intimation before. The other room (232) was on the third level.
5) The mattress was good but the pillows have seen better days.
6) The bathroom was really like one in a motel. Even the basin :(

This resort was the best place I’ve ever stayed. It’s nestled deeper into a jungle like area than the other resorts, has a quiet and peaceful beach, a large area with tables before you get to the beach with a beach bar, a lovely pool, and a restaurant with great and plentiful options.

Room with a jacuzzi tub and it was incredibly relaxing and huge with jets. The goodies for the tub got refilled everyday. The staff here is so attentive, pleasant, and will cater to your needs. The beach bar staff are all so fun and kind, and the beach service with drinks and food was top notch. Gazing at the many iguanas and giving the honorary resort dog some love were some of my favorite parts. This is such a beautiful and tucked away resort and I will be back!

We picked the hotel over others because it had a pool but it was small and not that clean so wasn’t worth it. Our room also had a shower that didn’t turn off fully and a leaking AC unit - both were looked at but neither were fixed, and the reaction of the hotel was to shrug their shoulders - ‘yes, it’s true it’s not working but you’ll have to live with it.’

Authentic Mexican experience. Very cool decor/architecture made it feel like an escape. The layout made it feel like the place was half-empty even though it was high season (in a good way). Very friendly staff. Well off the beaten path.

The property is surrounded by a mature jungle.. it feels like you are staying in the jungle and on the beach. The location is in the middle of the 26 mile island and close to the ferry. You can walk to the village , shopping and all the restaurants. Bikes are available to rent. Take the bikes west to playa coco and east to playa mosquito. Staff here are helpful and very accommodating. The coffee and breakfast every morning was the best!

We've now stayed at the Villas HM Paraiso del Mar and its sister property next door (Villas HM Palapas del Mar). I prefer the Palapas--it's a bit newer I think and aesthetically more my style (and more expensive)--but both are great options on Holbox. Property is very clean and well maintained and the staff is really friendly and helpful but casual (in a good way). Great location on the beach--it's on a good part of the beach as it gets narrower and more affected by seaweed further from town. Great distance from town--walk in to the center in about 10 minutes on the sandy beach road. Really good, extensive breakfast included. I love that the beach isn't crowded--you don't have to rush down to claim chairs. Pool is small, but Holbox is about the beach as far as I'm concerned. Quiet, laid back, clean, pretty. I can't wait to go back!
