The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean, and the hotel felt secure and safe. There were very little offerings for food in the area around 9:30pm, however, but that's not a knock on the hotel itself, just the area. Would absolutely stay there again and you could not get any more conveniently located to Newark Penn Station.

I did not enjoy my stay this time, this is my second time staying. First I was charged an extreme amount on my card, at first I thought it was the insurance cover but after talking to front desk they advise it was a mistake. The room had stains in flooring, shower, bed sheets etc. Seems like it hasn't been updated in a while. The only good thing was the shuttles to the airport and it's near the train station.

I did not appreciate not being able to have early check-in or late check out which required me to have to go to another hotel with a friend so I could change clothes for an event and to be dropped off at the airport seven hours before my flight leaves. Will know for future reference not to book this hotel.

The entire area there is a dump! The staff was not very attentive when we arrived to check in. Almost like we were an annoyance! Then we get to our room and just want to shower and sleep. Come to find out the fridge didn’t work at all and then we had reservations for 3 people only only 2 towels and 2 wash cloths. Definitely not what you would expect especially for advertising a 4 star! This was a 1 star

Liked that you could walk straight into Newark Penn Station, made travelling easy. Walking distance to food outlets, burlington and other shopping outlets. LOVED THE COMPLIMENTARY COOKIE!

A microwave should have been in the room rather than in the lobby.
At least disposable ware was available on request.

We waited at Liberty Airport's special area for hotel shuttles (no taxis), in the heat, for over an hour before Double Tree's shuttle finally arrived, although it is advertised to come every 30 minutes. We tried several numbers to reach the hotel's front desk, but kept getting AI and the same message, even after selecting 0. The desk clerk did not apologize or even acknowledge our frustration. Our bathroom floor was sticky, the tub had visible dirt and the sink was clogged! There were no complimentary short water bottles in the mini fridge. There is a limited assortment of water and snacks next to the front desk that must be added to your room's bill. Be warned that the breakfast buffet is not complimentary, but is expensive. The restaurant's lunch and dinner menu does have variety, though. When we needed extra towels, we called \"Housekeeping\" and got the front desk instead. We even informed the front desk clerk, in person, before leaving for an event. We only received towels after a housekeeper knocked, late in the day, and said that she never got the message. Expedia should reconsider suggesting Double Tree Penn Station. We obviously, will not be returning!

The room was clean the staff didn’t really care about any of the customers, but did their job, minus not offering any cookies while checking in. The cookies were in the warming drawer, but they weren’t offered any customers. The desk attendant had his backpack on. He was ready to head out. He had limited concern about those checking in. He just wanted to end his shift. If I had to, I would stay there again. If I didn’t have to, I would pay more to stay somewhere else.

We booked a stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Penn Station through Expedia for my parents, expecting a comfortable and premium experience because of the Hilton brand name. While the rooms were clean, comfortable, and overall decent, the hotel experience itself was disappointing for the price we paid — around 313 CAD for just one night.

The biggest issue was that the hotel lacked basic amenities. The photos online make it appear like there are luxury facilities such as a swimming pool and other premium features, but in reality, there was nothing except a gym. Even basic essentials like dental kits, shower kits, and standard toiletries were not provided. When we asked for bottled water, we were told to refill water from the gym, which honestly felt unreasonable considering the amount charged for the stay.

On the positive side, the staff was supportive, polite, and helpful throughout the stay, which we appreciated. However, overall, the experience did not match the expectations set by the hotel’s branding and online photos. Unfortunately, it did not feel worth the money paid.

Excellent location for easy NYC access. If driving to location it is difficult to find car garage parking which is public and attached to building. Hotel is immediately in front of Newark Penn Station.
Quick walk but tricky with the a car to access. Rooms are spotless and staff is so helpful. I had my 95 year old mom with me and everyone helped me. Absolutely 10+ stars. Staff equivalent to 5star hotel. Extremely impressed with the staff at this facility

The room was clean. Small bathroom. Water Pressure was low. The location of the hotel was perfect. We could get on a train and go but also we were close to the Prudential Center which was the reason we were there. The bar was nice. We avoided initially because it looked like a small menu but the food looked great. Wish we would of used it more.

This place was horrible I would never stay here again. If I were Expedia I would remove this place from this site. It was disgustingly dirty, there was balls of human hair on the carpet, it hadn’t been vacuumed for sure. The bathtub did not get cleaned, old hair in the tub and on the ceiling. The bedding was dirty. The towels were super rough! The curations were nasty and had so many stains.

Liked the room & location being so close to the Amtrak & NJ Transit/PATH train station directly across the street. Took less than 30 mins to get to NYC Penn Station.

Staff was exceptional. Everyone extremely polite & very helpful. We checked our luggage at the hotel because we were too early for check-in. That service was a game changer. The LAZ Garage is directly below the hotel so very convenient to park there & head to train station after checking luggage.

Breakfast was excellent as well as the service. Everything cooked just right.

Our whole experience at the hotel complex was fantastic. Got a good night sleep on a perfect mattress.

Wasn’t as clean as I would expect a Hilton to be. The floors in the room were disgusting, like they haven’t been vacuumed in weeks. I also had to ask them to change the sheets again because there was a stain on them. Probably wouldn’t stay there again because if this. Unfortunately the skywalk is not open on weekends from Penn Station which was the main attraction for booking. Cleaning staff left a dirty glass in hallway for 3 days., We had to wait till 8am for extra towels although room booked for 4 people. Breakfast is too expensive for what is offered. This would not be my first choice again.

Overpriced parking ($60 per night - Mar 2026), small beds in rooms, small refrigerator in room, no microwave in rooms, must have key card to access elevator, staff were rude. This hotel does however offer easy access to Newark Penn Station subway, and had several good choices open during portions of the day. The restaurant onsite was very expensive and did not offer many choices. The parking is quoted as covered parking, however, there was limited garage parking, the rest was outside. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, but they were doubles and staff indicated that rollaway beds were not allowed in a double room, despite them being available. When I called the hotel prior to arrival to ask a question, the staff had NO IDEA if the hotel offered in/out privileges to its guests. Its just very frustrating when you spend a decent amount of money for a nice hotel and you get mediocre service/facility. I expected more from a Hilton.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Not entirely clean, during my stay a bug jumped out of the lap (so please do a quick sweep before resting). The front desk staff were kind and clear with their policies, offering a hospitality cookie. The outside area of the hotel is a bit sketchy with no stores open nearby. For the price, it is reasonable short-term stay.

I would absolutely avoid this hotel. First, the room was disgusting. The sheets on the beds had visible dirt marks when we pulled the covers back. The body wash in the shower was completely empty. We didn't notice until after my husband took a shower but there was dried poop on the floor between the toilet and the tub! When we reported it to the the front desk (Anniqua), they sent someone who tried to argue that it wasn't poop it was \"oxidization\", and even when they attempted to clean it up, it looked liked smeared poop on the floor. The TVs are not able to be streamed to and there is only very basic programming with HBO options. There is a channel that scrolls through what is currently showing on each channel that you have to suffer through or channel surf up and down to find something to watch. There are homeless people sleeping the entire perimeter of the building, some with tents (very sad). Not what I was expecting when I booked this \"4-star hotel\". We initially asked the hotel if we could get a different room, but Anniqua said that they were fully booked and had no other rooms. We asked if we could get a refund since we were not planning on staying any longer because it was gross. Anniqua said that since we booked using a third party (Expedia), they were unable to issue a refund. We contacted Expedia and they reached out to this hotel to ask them to cancel the reservation so they could issue a refund but Anniqua told them that she wouldn't do it!

The area to pull the car in to go check in was extremely congested. Parking garage was ok I guess. Lobby was very run down and check in staff was disengaged. Room itself was clean. Beds were super small for room designed for 4 people. City noise was extremely prominent. Room was booked for 4 people yet we only had 2 bath towels. After concert at Prudential Center, I stopped at front desk to get 2 more towels only to be told that there was nothing they could do because housekeeping requests had to be in by 10pm. I don't know where this information was displayed or communicated, but felt extremely non-hospitable. Staff member mentioned housekeeping opened at 8am and they would bring two additional towels then. Nope. And to top it off no one would answer the front desk phone or the housekeeping phone the entire time we were there. Very poorly run hotel. Would not recommend.

The staff was excellent the guy who came to fix my tv was sweet, curtious and professional. And the front staff waa great. As as always the cookies were on point.

We have staff or I don’t know who. They open our bedroom door Sunday and Monday around 9:15 in the morning both days.. and no one was at the door went we got near our door I call the front desk and they told me it was house keeping trying to clean the room early. Parking was 120 dollars for two nights and Breakfast was 68 dollars for one bagel two coffees one apple juice and Some fruit. This hotel is so dangerous. They open my doors both days and the linen were dirty. I need to ask them to change it because smells like sweat have oil on the pillows so bad experience in this hotel.. SAD

Overall, a very good stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and bilingual, that was a plus for us. We only stayed one night, but will definitely book this hotel again. Went to a concert at Prudential Center which was walking distance. The Penn Train Station right in front of our room, very busy street, but no noise at all. It was perfect!
