Th3 interior 9the rooms and halls should be updated. If the hotel is not going to offer a courtesy breakfast there should at least be a microwave in the room for food to be warmed by guests

Booked 1 night for my husband travels, he said it's nice and clean room, and better staying at the Doubletree by Hilton in NY.
Self parking is $23 vs $60 in NY - we'll stay here again for our future NY trips.

I don't know where to start. There is virtually no parking for the hotel besides a cramped alleyway in which they tell you to ignore the do not park signs. The staff at night are very rude and could not provide any details about the cost of parking. Three trips from the elevator to the front desk we finally got a card to our room which worked. The room had a decent appearance except for the cockroaches and unfinished bathroom (door from missing showerhead not completely attached).

The staff was very nice and professional. The location was extremely convenient in the middle of everything. I wish the hotel was more updated...there were issues with air circulation. Other than that, it was the perfect place to stay for a short business trip.

It was the WORST experience. The room we were assigned smelled like cigarettes, we requested to change rooms, and the only solution they gave us was to spray the room. Then they moved us to a room without air conditioning. The receptionist had the WORST intention. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING AT THAT HOTEL.

Room was clean but it smelled like the person cleaned it while smoking a cigarette and left the window open and the heat on full blast. No instructions from the front desk on how to get to the room( had to use key in elevator). No small amenities in room like bar of soap for hand washing, shampoo,conditioner and body wash if needed we had to ask the front desk. No validation for their parking lot with hotel stay. Where do I even begin? The room looked like it lost a fight with housekeeping. The pillows were dirty, which was exciting because we actually asked for extra pillows… and were told they had run out of pillows entirely. At a hotel. Bold strategy.

The ice bucket looked like it had seen things. The chair had cigarette burns in it, which really added to the aesthetic.

The washcloths came pre-loaded with mystery hairs, which I assume is a complimentary feature? Nothing says comfort like exfoliating with a stranger.

No iron in the room despite there being a clearly designated Iron Parking Spot on the wall, maybe it checked out early after seeing the pillows?

And let’s talk about breakfast. Room service is only available Monday through Friday. Because apparently no human being has ever consumed breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday

Toiletries? They generously provided three shampoos Not one. Not two. Three. Zero body wash. Zero conditioner. Just a full commitment to extremely clean hair and absolutely nothing else. I guess the plan was to wash my scalp repeatedly and let the rest of me figure it out. Conditioner? Apparently that’s a luxury upgrade.

Parking was also an adventure. I tried to grab something we forgot in the car and was denied like I was attempting a felony. To be fair, that part was technically our fault… but still, let me live.

Overall, if you’re into chaos, surprise textures, aggressive shampooing, and a full-scale pillow shortage crisis, this is your place.

Manager was great. Very accommodating as I had a really late flight and didn’t check in until the following morning. Rest of the reception staff were unaware of the check in policy and gave me two different stories. Not great as I was in full panic mode mid air because i thought I wouldn’t have anywhere to go when I landed (even though I was given the all clear before I left home). Apart from that, it was a pleasant stay and I would book again.

Stayed two nights for a concert at the Prudential Center. The room was okay. Clean. Absolutely no frills. Only had a half roll of toilet paper, luckily I caught that early. Paper thin walls. Clientele was rough. Hallway was a weed smoke box. Multiple neighbors were screaming at each other at all hours of the night. Tiny pillows, half the size of real pillows. air conditioning controls didn’t work. Fan wouldnt turn on. Probably won’t be back.

I stay at this hotel at least 5/6 times a year (3/4 nights each time) it’s centrally located in Newark and it’s decent value for money.

However the last 2 times I’ve stayed both stays were spoiled by extremely noisy guests. This time 2 of the four nights I stayed I was kept awake until 2am by a group of young men next room who were extremely loud. The hotel sent security up twice the first night but the next night it was the same issue.

There seems to be a lot of permanent guests at the hotel now also.

Still not a bad hotel but the standards are slipping as of late.

There is one lady at reception who is extremely kind and always lovely to deal with. I wish I remembered her name.

I stayed at the Robert Treat Hotel for two nights and it was a terrible experience. When we returned to our room around 6:30 pm after being out all day, our key did not work. The parking attendant was rude and unhelpful. The desk clerk told me I had to pay for an extra night even though I had my Expedia confirmation printed and on my phone and it took him 10 to 15 minutes to find my reservation. When we finally got upstairs I noticed someone had been in our room while we were gone. The Do Not Disturb sign had been on the door when we left but was removed when we came back. Nothing valuable was taken but my clothes, a memorial t-shirt, and toiletries had been handled. The room had not been serviced at all. The bed was unmade, towels and washcloths were missing, and we had to bring our own blankets because the ones provided were stained. The chair was stained and uncomfortable and the desk does not work with a wireless mouse. The bed was very soft and sank when you sat or lay down. The hotel smells of weed and cigarettes, the walls are paper thin, and the ceilings are peeling. Parking is 24 dollars, the lot is small and tight, and there are not many spaces. I am a Newark native and both my husband and I graduated and attended various events held here throughout our lives from childhood. For someone to enter our room while we were out is outrageous. I will never stay here again..

They let the guests smoke in the rooms. I was so upset; I spoke with the front desk, and they gave me a can of air freshener. They act like they didn't know where it was coming from. I changed because the first room was worse than the second; the smoke was coming from the bathroom vents. I am allergic so no more staying here for me if I could get a refund I would especially if you don't fall in the category of a smoker.

This is not a 3 star hotel. I will say, the price I got was really good, the view from my room was decent (if you like Newark). I am a very easy going traveler, and I believe you get what you pay for. With this hotel, you essentially get a room at the holiday inn but with a view, more amenities in the building and a free airport shuttle (not that reliable). That being said, the entire place smells like weed (honestly I’m very chill with that haha) and small things like half filled shampoo bottles, cleanliness (it was good enough for sure but if you look too close you might see something you don’t like). My tv had a small crack in it, amenities like restaurant and bar were not open late night (idk if they open in the morning or it’s just off season, we’re not available. Customer service is decent. Overall I think it’s a good spot if you need to save money and they have a good deal. I also think they just need to renovate a bit. In my opinion that would really up the value of the stay.
