Excellent place to stay, clean and spacious room, staff very friendly but the most remarkable thing is that we left the safe box open with our valuables, passports and cash before they clean the room and everything was there, when we returned, nothing was missing 😀 and the place is amazing the lake 3 minutes away from our room.

The facilities were good and the restaurant was great.
I didn’t love that my room had issues, to start the bathroom looked like it wasn’t properly cleaned, it had shiny spots around the toilet that made me think it was pee from the previous guest. Also we turned on the ac and we woke up with tons of water on the floor, luckily the staff worked on it but it wasn’t the best experience.
Finally, we tried using the pool as there was an issue of high winds and the pool is very very small, like 3m by 3 m. We ended up using the pool from a friend of mine that was just a bit smaller.

Well, the staff are nice, but it doesn't make a difference in the rating. The hotel itself is run down. The room is pathetic, a really sad place to come back to after a day in the sun.
And the bugs and bites on your feet and ankles, horrible. So we barely hung out at the hotel itself. The dock has a few wooden chairs that are so uncomfortable, there are literally 2 chairs that are made of fabric, all the others are wood and not a single cushion on site.
So bring your own cushion. The bar by the dock is a joke, almost no alcohol and dirty. This place deserves 2 stars at best. It's misleading, the pictures of this place are fake, (I was catfished) not the actual resort in its current state.
It's a bait and switch. But there are plenty of beach clubs nearby with nice chairs, umbrellas and good drinks. As for MBH, I would stay away at all costs.

Room & balcony spacious with tranquil lagoon views. Kayaks, paddleboards & life jackets available to use - would recommend an early morning to do this at sunrise!

The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking! Cleanliness in the room needs improvement. Taking a shower the first day was a horrible experience. Drain was clogged and water completely flooded the bathroom. We used towels to prevent water from running into the bedroom. Issue was reported and not addressed until later in the day (staff is not available until 8:00am). No apologies were given.

The hotel has no ammenities at all, a very small restaurant with no AC. We did not have hot water on the first day and had to call maintenance for the bathroom.
They cleaned leaves with a VERY noisy machine daily distrupting all the peace.
No pool, yes you have a beautiful lagoon but only 6 very uncomfortable beds.
The hotel is very far from everythong so taxis are very expensive.
Staffnis amazing though and food was great.

Loved loved this property… wished I’ve stayed 2 nights instead of one. It’s a 10 minute drive to downtown as MBH Maya Bacalar is in the middle of jungle but so nice to wake up to the scenery and the amazing lagoon. The kids enjoyed every second of our stay. We took advantage of the paddle boards kayak and of course swimming in this beautiful lagoon. Can’t wait to go back to this amazing place.

What we liked it that is was nestled between trees and everything is pretty much shaded around the rooms. The lagoon is beautiful and clean. The STAFF was amazing and courteous. Downtown Bacalar is very close drive. Would definitely recommend hotel to others. Wish we had more time to stay longer.

Bacalar and this property was my favorite on this Mexico trip! The staff was amazing. The tub and lagoon view unit was a complete dream. Appears to be a newer building all the furniture was beautiful and everything was very clean. Absolutely a beautiful property and grounds. Only cons, you need transportation to get around, not walking distance to anything. Only one restaurant on the property. Overall, we loved it and would stay again!

Great location. Staff went out of their way, especially the waiter at the restaurant. He was magnificent. Power went out for about a half an hour, but staff got it fixed quickly. Very isolated area, so I would recommend bringing candles or a light source to any travelers in the event this is a common occurrence.

This is a unique stay in the middle of the jungle, so do expect a couple of bugs around. Yet the place is in perfect harmony with nature, respecting it and minimizing invasion.
The Staff was very attentive and friendly, especially Edgar, the F&B Manager.
The food at the inhouse restaurant is outstanding, we did most our meals there.

We stayed 5 nights, which is enough for exploring the surroundings and relaxing.

I highly recommend this place if you are looking to unplug, relax and recharge.

This is truly NOT a hotel. It is a collection of individual rooms with no place to sit down.... Check-in was at a desk with two chairs \"Reception\" is an overstatement. \"Restaurant\" is not at all that. It's a place right at the parking lot where you can eat something. The hotel rooms have no soul. Made of terrible Chinese-made materials instead of true Mexican content. Room has a bed. Period. Comfortable bed. Nothing more. No table, not chairs (go to the balcony if you want to work, no table there either. Nothing comfortable. Bathroom and shower like a cheap motel. Pictures are brilliantly deceitful. They don't represent the real state of the rooms. Yes, there are loungers... but with no cushions. Please. Say what you are renting. A room in a building of four rooms each and access to Bacalar lagoon. This is NOT a hotel.

El hotel es muy lindo y las habitaciones son muy cómodas. Son 3 edificios unos que no tiene vista la Laguna y dos si. La estadía fue muy buena lo único malo fue que están contrayendo un edificio más para el lado de la selva y no puedes dormir tranquilo ya que desde las 8am empiezan a hacer ruido. Creo que si el hotel está vacío podían ver dado otra habitación lejos de la contrucion

Amazing accommodation in need of better management

This is an amazing hotel in an exceptional location. The views and the architecture are stunning and serene. However, the hotel could use much better management. They have EXCELLENT bikes for the guest that have been totally neglected and in dire need of maintenance due rusted chains and gears. As an aisde, the staff could nit find the key to the bikes so I had to wait until the next day for an offsite manager to bring the keys to the lock on the bike. Of course, the bikes have a lock that no one knows the code. Each townhouse comes with an aming telescope to view across the lake and of course it has not been maintained either. While these things were annoying, there was also something totally unacceptable. You need to buzzed in at the gate. I rang the bell for 15 minutes with no response. It was not until an employee drove up and called someone that I was let in. This should give you some idea how amazing the llace must bw dor me to still give it a great rating.

We had a great stay. It's just a little north of the town center of Bacalar, but directly on the lagoon with terrific views. We wanted modern accommodations and were happy with the stay at the MBH. Most of the other options directly on the lagoon seemed pretty rustic.

Cet hôtel n’a aucun charme , est sans intérêt et très cher pour aucun service ni qualité
20 min à attendre qu’il ouvre le portail du parking, il faut laisser un message sur whatsapp pour rentrer mais bien sûr on a pas de réseau à l’extérieur de l’hôtel donc impossible.
- staff au check-in ultra désagréable ( izmael ) chambre pas propre et déjà très abîmée malgré le fait que ça soit neuf.
- petit déjeuner non compris malgré le prix le plus cher de la région.
- Draps tachés
- Baignoire à bulle ne marche pas.
Bref une catastrophe, loin de tout, notre séjour à été gaché a cause de cet hôtel

Beautiful lagoon front property! Check in was super easy and smooth. We got to park right in front of our cabin that was located on the 2nd floor on the bank of the Bacalar lagoon. Each 3 story cabin houses 4 rooms: 2 on bottom, 2 on 2nd floor and the top floor is a shared rooftop sun deck! Our room was stunning! Very modern and clean. The highlight was the jetted bathtub on the balcony. Amazing and would stay again in heartbeat.

The staff was really attentive to all our needs. The hotel manager Ismael helped us book a tour of the Laguna. Edgar the restaurant bar manager was also great and made some awesome drinks. As for the hotel room it was above and beyond what we expected, clean and fully stocked with towels. We will definitely stay here again in the near future. Thanks MBH we loved your hospitality.
