Serene, beautiful property with a great lagoon view. Super easy parking and secure entrance. We stayed in two room types and thought both were excellent (lagoon view suite, and partial lagoon view room). The overall vibe was nice with chill electronic music playing and waiters roaming to make sure you had all you needed, the food an drinks were excellent (ate multiple meals during our stay). Only critique would be that the lounge chairs facing the lagoon are limited in number, and other guests would hold them by placing a towel down even though they would not show back up for hours, leaving no chairs left to enjoy - wish the hotel would put a policy about this.

We had a great 2 night stay at Puerta del Cielo. From the moment we checked in the staff were so attentive, there were so many little details that meant a lot. We had several meals during our stay and everything we ate not only looked like art, but was outstanding. Luis the head chef was so helpful with tips of things to see and do and places to eat outside of the hotel.

The property is like a little oasis, filled with plants, flowers, private areas for dining and a swimming pool overlooking the water. The chef is over the top, best food we have had in Mexico! Staff was great and super professional.

The staff was very accomadating and super friendly! We checked in a day late and let them know and they were waiting for us in the morning! Their greeting made us feel like celebrities! They also offered to credit me for missing my first night if we wanted to stay another night but we already had another reservation. After we left to our other destination(playa del carmen) we wishe we wouldve stayed another night!. All in all the place was beautiful & peacefule! Food was delicious as well! Would definately stay again! Dont hesitate on this property! Was conpletely worth it! Thank you Puerto del Cielo!

The staff were very helpful with everything from carrying our luggage, changing us to a room with a better view as per their own suggestion. A perfect stay in paradise.
This is probably one of the nicest boutique hotels I have seen in Bacalar. It's luxurious and not over priced. My room was upstairs with a partial lagoon view. It felt very private and extremely comfortable although I'd say the beds are on the small side but I'm a solo traveller so wasn't an issue for me. It's a little out of the town but taxis are so cheap no more than 50 pesos. I loved the huge outdoor bathtub. The pool area was very nice and there's a deck leading to the lagoon. Food was very very good, the chef was accommodating to my specific requirements and it didn't work out very expensive. Service by all staff is exceptional here. Hotel was so quiet I sometimes felt like the only guest. I'd highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Puerta Del Cielo is a place that1 1minute by minute as you spend time there you notice the beautiful care and attwnrion to the details in everything from the room irself, the restrooms and showers, the jacuzzi tub, etc. Down to the stone walls, bar area, the lighted pools etc. Everithing invites you to relax and enjoy life. In addition the entirr staff were truly wonderful. Just simply a place to go back anytime you can.

El hotel se encuentra en carretera por lo que solamente puedes trasladarte en auto/taxi pero todos los de la zona están igual.
Lo recomiendo y volvería a hospedarme en este lugar sin dudarlo.

Excelente lugar junto a la Laguna. Lejos de todo el movimiento pero cerca cuando quieres visitar el Pueblo Mágico. El servicio es excelente, el hotel hermoso, la comida deliciosa y el ambiente perfecto.

very noisy - couldn't sleep well!
This hotel is very noisy. I spent three nights there and got very little sleep. The hotel is located on a narrow strip of land between a busy main road and the lagoon. While the side facing the lagoon is quiet, we had a room (mid-range price category) closest to the road. There is a constant hum of engines, especially motorcycles and trucks, even at night. Additionally, there was a noise from a compressor, like that of an air conditioner or pump, heard loudly at night. The bar is also located in this area, where early in the morning there is clattering of dishes and the loud sound of a juicer being turned on. This not being enough, there is also a construction side next to the hotel with hammering noise during the day. This hotel is not suitable for noise-sensitive people!

Nunca dejo reseñas pero este hotel amerita que lo haga. Nuestro hospedaje fue corto pero la experiencia fue memorable. Pasé mi cumpleaños aquí y tuvieron muy buenos detalles para que no pasara desapercibido. Decir que el servicio es excelente, me parece poco; nos hicieron sentir como si fuéramos los únicos huéspedes. Su comida es buenísima. Salimos del hotel para conocer el pueblo, pero decidimos no comer en otro lugar que no fuera el hotel por lo mismo. En pocas palabras, superó nuestras expectativas.

Escogí la suite frente a la laguna, todo muy bello, el cuarto tenía una decoración increíble, el baño con todo lo necesario, me encantó hospedarme en este hotel. El servicio del personal fue muy amable y respuetuoso, muy atentos. Lo único que no me agradó, fue el que se realizaran cenas en la palapa, la cual daba directo a mi cuarto y mi cuarto se ve hacia las personas, por lo que después de las 9-11 pm sigue habiendo gente ahí que te esta mirando y no es cómodo tampoco estar escuchando todas las conversaciones, esa parte fue \"invasiva\" e \"intranquila\" cuando una solo quiere descansar o disfrutar del cuarto o de la tina (que estaba afuera del cuarto), de ahí en fuera todo estuvo genial. Los precios del menú algo elevados y lo triste fue que no cuentan con opciones veganas, siempre tuve que salir a buscar restaurantes veganos al centro.

Hubo pequeños detalles que de las instalaciones me hubiera encantado que tuvieran, como alguna mesilla para los alimentos de servicio a cuartos, alguna silla para el escritorio y cosillas así, pero lo que ha podido ser carente en inmobiliario, lo compensa con creces en el servicio del personal, que realmente hacen sentir el esmero por brindar un excelente servicio, por ello que considero que es un excelente lugar para descansar un par de días.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce séjour dans cet hôtel. Nous avons enlevé une étoile uniquement à cause des odeurs d’égouts dans la chambre. En mettant de côté cet incident, le personnel est top ! La nourriture de l’hôtel excellente. Nous avons aussi apprécié le tour en bateau qui a pu nous récupérer et laisser sur le ponton de l’hôtel. Nous recommandons !
