We had room number eight, an upstairs suite that includes a king size bed, a lounge chair and a small table with two chairs. The room has a charming balcony that overlooks a Koi pond. The bathroom has both a shower and a copper bathtub. The main room also includes a small coffee bar area with sink, for preparing drinks and snacks. A small refrigerator is installed underneath.
The complementary breakfast has a lot of variety, including omelettes, chilaquiles, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola as well as local specialties.
We found all the staff to be helpful and proactive, but the real standout was a woman named Karina, who helped us out on many occasions.
We had such a nice time we plan to return next year!

My dad, brother and I just spent 4 nights at guayaba inn and it was fantastic. Its 10 mins away from the main square and some of San Cristobal‘s main sights. The rooms surround a gorgeous garden with tropical flowers and a koi fish pond. Breakfast is included and although the options are limited, everything is delicious. The only issue we had was that we didn’t have hot water in our rooms but the manager Julio got this fixed promptly and offered us to do our laundry for free as compensation. 10 out 10.

What a beautifully tropical and tranquil oasis when u walk in. The suites are huge and imminently restful. Loved the luxury of the hammered copper soaking tub. The drain leaked once but the staff fixed it asap. Their included breakfast service is really nice. Protip: exit the property and go left down Comitan street until you come upon the hundreds of permanent stalls selling local products. Enjoy!

Fabulous girls’ trip to San Cristóbal de Las Casas, and our stay at Guayaba Inn made it even better. Everyone was wonderful. They helped us organize tours and reserve drivers, schedule a massage on site (that we highly recommend), and provided a yummy and filling breakfast every morning. A quick note for light sleepers since I am one, the room at the back of the property is against the street so request an interior room or be sure to bring earplugs.

We loved staying at the Inn. The staff was superb helping us in every way and extremely timely. I have not experienced such timeliness and helpfulness. We also really enjoyed staying is an upscale though traditional Mexican inn with beautiful art through out. Each evening we lit the fire in our in suite fireplace enjoying a glass of wine which was available for purchase in the room. I highly recommend the inn. It was a pleasure and delight.

Very disappointing stay.

We did not have consisting hot water. Our shampoo and conditioner never got replaced. I could never get a washcloth. The worst part was that there was no heat anywhere in the building.
Everyone was very friendly. The breakfast was very good but the coffe very weak.

Having traveled to many beautiful places all over the world, I can honestly say that Guayaba Inn has been one of my very favorites! My husband and I loved EVERYTHING! The room, grounds, staff, breakfast, location couldn’t be better. It really is a quick walk to city center, but there are taxis passing constantly at all hours for $2 US. This is such a beautiful place and I can’t wait to return. Thanks for making our trip more than special!

The hotel was a little oasis in the middle of the town, beautiful courtyard gardens. Our room was the king suite which was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom had the added bonus of a bath and separate shower. Our waitress at breakfast was very friendly and the front desk helped with securing transport for us. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we would definitely recommend the hotel

The hotel is charming, clean, spacious and modern. Room was exactly as pictures a d had mini-fridge and snacks, wine, beer, sodas and water for purchase (at reasonable prices). There was even a fireplace in our room!!Breakfast was included and was delicious. Staff was courteous and always with a smile on their faces. They even went out of their way to pack breakfast to-go when we had to leave on our guided tours before they opened for breakfast. Keep in mind, though, this hotel is about 10 blocks from the center square, where
most stores/shops/restaurants are. The hotel does not serve lunch or dinner, so if you want to go out for dinner and don’t want to walk through lonely,
dark stone streets at night; you will have to take a taxi or order dominoes. Make sure to try Tierra y Cielo Restaurant and El Secreto. Best restaurants in town, in my opinion.

Everything about the Guayaba Inn was terrific. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and the inn is quite and relaxing. The room was lovely and the breakfasts were delicious. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. If I have one minor criticism, the bed pillows were not particularly comfortable. If I ever return to San Christobal I will stay at the Guayaba Inn and will recommend it to any friends traveling there.

We had an amazing stay at the Guayaba Inn! The staff is really excellent and made us feel like family. They helped books tours and arranged travel back to the airport. The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was always delicious and the restaurant has was just really cool, located in their garden. The hotel is located on a quiet street that was about a 5-10 minute walk from Camino Real de Guadalupe which is where there are a ton of restaurant and bars. We would definitely stay here again when visiting San Cristobal.

This hotel was so awesome. The service was outstanding!!!! The fireplace in the room was so nice and romantic and they even came up and lit it for us and as the room heated up they came up and turned it off for us. The bath tub was so amazing, you can stay in it for hours because when you start out it's hot hot hot and then as you sit there it cools off which allows you to stay in, I loved that about this tub. It was our anniversary and they delivered us a bottle of wine. We are vegan and they went out of their way to make sure they prepared us something we could eat. They went above and beyond in terms of their service. The price is a little more than you would normally pay but it was worth every peso.

This is an amazing boutique hotel. One of the best I've ever been to. The room is spacious and the free breakfast is excellent.

Also, for the size and excellent quality, the price of this hotel is a great deal. It's a 5 or 10-minute walk to the city center, but it's across the street from the best museum in town, Na Balom.

I loved the location. I've stayed in the city center a few times and it's always been noisy. Once I booked a room for 4 nights and left after 1. The bars go until 4 and blast the music all night.

So, Guayaba is in a great location if you actualy want to sleep at night. Plus, it's an amazing hotel with very friendly service. I highly recommed this hotel!

I would like to take a moment and acknowledge all of the staff at Guayaba Inn. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm friendly smile and attentive service from Juan, Francisco and Nadia Besides the room being amazing, with the great down comforter, rain shower, soak bata tub and fantastic warm fire place, what made this stay and experience has been the staff. Adriana made such amazing tasty food every time from the beautiful traditional kitchen. Francisco made every effort to ensure we had everything we needed while we ate at the restaurant besides providing great recommendations around typical chapanense food.
Juan greeted us with a warm smile every morning while taking care of the grounds. Nadia, WOW she was amazing by providing second to none world class service. She ensured our activities were booked on time, gave us tips on where to visit and made herself available if we had any questions.

I visited San Cristobal with a friend - we were so happy to have found the Guayaba Inn and were even more delighted when we arrived. The BnB is absolutely beautiful...... and, as a BnB owner myself, I have learned to be more critical. The Inn and gardens are gorgeous and extremely well maintained. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and available 24/7. The room and appointments were perfect. The comforters and beds were divine. It is close enough to the zocalo for an easy walk, but far enough away to be secluded. The decoration was stunning. I have nothing at all but good things to say about this Inn.....and will certainly recommend it to everyone who asks about a lovely place to stay in San Cristobal.

Enjoyed our six night stay in the Guyana Inn in March 2017. The hotel is located about 15 minute walk from the center of town. The room was well furnished and very comfortable and quiet. Used the gas fireplace briefly each night when we returned to room. The complementary breakfast is very good and the dining room very cozy. The front office staff were excellent.

All staff welcoming and no request was to much, felt pampered. Just a few minutes from the town square if you decide to get a taxi very cheap, $35 pesos anywhere in town. Main square full of restaurants for every taste and again super cheap! Cafes, bakeries and small grocery stores where you can purchase just about anything. We loved this hotel, staff, rooms. 5 Star Quality from top to bottom.

Everything about this inn is top notch. The staff is exceptional. On our way to the inn from the airport in Tuxtla Gutierrez, our cab driver got lost in San Cristobal de las Casas. One of the staff of the inn actually went to us to guide us to the inn. The breakfast-included is amazing and well prepared. The room was delightful, colonial, but all of the modern conveniences, even a fireplace in the room. The bed was soft and comfortable. We will go back.

We recently spend 6 nights at the Guayaba Inn and I can't say enough positive things! The room was spacious, beautiful and well furnished. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the copper soaker tub!
The staff are exceptional...extremely helpful and courteous! The breakfasts were very good and there are lots of things to choose from. We did eat dinner at the inn a couple of times and throughly enjoyed the meals...the price for food and drink was very reasonable. The inner courtyard garden is lovely and very well cared for.

Four poster bed, Copper bathtub for 2, nespresso machine for great coffee in the morning..room service in the evening..we didn't always leave the room but there is a lot to see in San Cristobel and the surrounding towns. The hotel was a jewel! Staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was big enough that we didn't need lunch. We have stayed at many hotels in Mexico and this rates at the top for a romantic stay, a great sleep and nice people!

We stayed at this B&B after returning from Palenque. This is the best place to stay in San Cristobal- period. We were previously in San Cristobal and had checked out a few other similar hotels. The facility created by the owner is beautiful. The rooms are very high end. The entire facility is set around a great garden. Lots of shade, and even a koi pond. The breakfast as others have noted, is wonderful. Location is not an issue, but the location is not smack in the middle of town. As such, there is very little noise to deal with. I love the walk back to main pedestrian street, Guadalupe (about 4 blocks). The only reason not to stay here is if you have trouble walking as the streets and sidewalks are challenging, as they are typically in colonial cities.

We arrived at midnight and were welcomed warmly and shown to our beautiful double room. The next morning we upgraded to a larger room with a king with sofa bed (traveling with a nine and eleven year old). The beautiful artwork and attention to detail were impressive. We especially enjoyed the warm fireplace and tranquil patio. The free breakfast was the best food we had in Chiapas ( only two breakfasts were included we paid a fee for the other two). The inn is within walking distance of historical center of town. All of the staff was very attentive and welcoming. They said their desire was to make us feel at home.

Perfectly situated, about 800m from the centre of the city, close to markets, restaurants and shops, as well as landmarks like the Santo Domingo market/church. The hotel grounds are immaculate, and the rooms are perfect. Ours featured a four-post king size bed, a balcony, a gas fireplace and a giant bathroom with big tub and rainshower. I absolutely loved staying at Guayaba Inn. It's very close to the mercados, Calle Real de Guadalupe, Cerro San Cristobal and more! The breakfast was delicious and the staff were so helpful. My favorite part was the fireplace in the room that staff light at night to help get the chill out of the air which was lovely--even in May! The rooms are also wonderfully decorated and the bathroom was quite luxurious. San Cristobal is an amazing city and this B&B just added to the experience. I highly recommend it for both solo travelers (like myself) and couples.

This hotel is the best hotel in Mexico. The hotel has soft beds and soft pillows. It has a lot of nice art work around the hotel. Breakfast was very good a lot of options to choose from. It is about a 10 minute walk to the shopping square in town. Streets are very narrow so if you rent a car be careful also the side walks are very narrow too.

The room was beautiful and very large and comfortable. So was the bathroom and the great gas fireplace (which we used at night as it was rather cold in April at 13 degrees C during the day)

This is what I call a Boutique Hotel

At first we can´t find the Hotel because not all the locals know about its extistence, but when we find it we were very happy to have decided to stay there. It was so cousy and the rooms were huge with fireplace and the bathroom with a tube. Staff were so gently.

Nice, cozy place with comfortable rooms. Very quite. If you get a room at this place, consider yourself lucky because they are limited. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and tended to all our needs.

Great Hotel, wonderful staff

This is a truly wonderful place to stay with staff that are very accommodating. The rooms are large, clean and well-equipped. Breakfast, which was included, offered a wide choice and was excellent and ample.

We also enjoyed the massages offered by the hotel. Highly recommended!

Stayed for 5 nights in this beautiful hotel. Spacious large suite room and bathroom, with all mod cons.
Restaurant serving a limited menu in the evening but food very good.
Highly recommended.
About a 1 kilometre walk to the centre of town.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast hotel in San Cristobal

Guayaba Inn exceeded our expectations. The rooms are lovely, with fireplace and very comfortable beds. A nice young man came and lit the fire in the fireplace for us whenever we wished. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, in a lovely room again with a fireplace. The restaurant was open for dinner as well, and we ended up choosing to eat there more than once, including Valentine's Day, when we had a table beside the fireplace and an excellent dinner. There are two beautiful courtyard areas. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. The Inn is located within a 15 minute walk of the pedestrian streets and main square. The area is peaceful and quiet at night.

Lovely hotel, imperfect management

The grounds and rooms are lovely; the included breakfast is lavish. But there are odd missing pieces in the operation: tiny bottles of water (this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in Mexico and the smallest bottles of water provided); no bathrobes or slippers - though the hotel bills itself as a luxury hotel; and a written instruction to guests to provide 10% of their total room charges as a tip for all staff -- an amount miles higher than is customary in Mexico or the US or anywhere else). That said, an excellent place to stay, but I hope the hotel reads this and fixes these odd judgment calls.

If you can afford it, stay here

Overall, the experience was great! San Cristobal de las Casas is a very quaint city and Chiapas has a lot to see and experience. I went with my husband and while it was expensive, they met our expectations.We went during the festivities of the Virgen of Guadalupe, so it was very annoying that they would set off fire crackers all day long starting at 5 a.m.!! But that would have been anywhere.

La propiedad es muy bonita. Desafortunadamente una habitacion era muy fria, y no tenia manera de calentar, me pasaron a otra que el calentador era de gas, y no calentaba y olia mucho a gas. Me parecio peligroso y tuve que apagarlo. Ademas no tenia agua caliente. Pase una noche fatal. Finalmente logre una habitacion con calentador y agua caliente las ultimas dos noches. Excepto por la persona que hizo mi check out me queria cobrar por el upgrade de habitacion. Yo no lo pedi le explique que sus otras habitaciones no funcionaban. El desayuno es bueno y el resto del personal es muy amable.
