Overall not a bad place to stay for the price you pay. The location is across the street from the sea, but NOT on the sea. In Cozumel in general, in order to get in the water you either have to pay at a beach club (20$ entry fee) or find some suspicious other area that doesn’t have an entry fee. Therefore, choosing a hotel with beach/sea access would be a better choice if that’s what you plan to do in Cozumel. The room was clean. The balcony was okay, the view is the doors to other hotel rooms and a slither of sea if you don’t pay for the nicer room. 2 out of the 4 nights I was there, housekeeping took my used towels but did not give me new ones. I had to chase down housekeeping to give me clean towels- they were not that clean. The breakfast is okay for being free. There are some fruit, eggs, toast, coffee. A pitcher of water in the lobby. The pool is pretty small- about 3 feet deep and 10-13 feet long. The lounge chairs are nice. Upon losing my key card, one of the rather unkind women at the front desk told me it would be a 13 dollar fee. Never in my life staying at a hotel was there a fee for a lost key. Especially when that information wasn’t given upon check in. After asking for a towel for the lounge pool chair she made me give her a collateral so I’d return the towel. I will say one of the male staff was always kind and smiling. Otherwise the staff was kinda rude. After paying the hotel price, taxis, and food, it’s so much more worth it to stay at an all inclusive.

Property is clean and staff was very pleasant. Excellent breakfast included! Elevator is small, and only if there were more than 5 people it wouldn’t go due to weight restriction. Building has some maintenance issues with stucco and dripping water, but most places in Mexico do!

We travel to Cozumel a couple of times a year and we always stay at Casa Mexicana. The staff is welcoming and efficient. We often arrive a little bit early and are able to check in. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is included and amazing and breakfast staff is wonderful. The breakfast area and common areas are all comfortable and inviting. We always enjoy our stay.

We love this property. Close to everything downtown and very easy to get a taxi anywhere you want to go. Breakfast in the morning is amazing! Rooms are very spacious. Love the pool overlooking the water. Our only complaint is don’t get a room overlooking breakfast area if you don’t like noise. Walls are thin and the blanking of the dishes is a bit much. But the hotel was so nice to change rooms for us. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

We absolutely love staying here! One of the better hotels we have been to. It was our 3rd time and won't be our last. We had great ocean view. There is no beach near by. It is mostly docking area with rocks. So called beach about 2 miles away is rocky too and not beach at all. Food is very expensive and mostly Mexican. But, I did find two amazing Italian and one Indian restaurant. Very aggressive to get Tips in motel, market and all around. Not much help to guide to get there from Cancun airport, what to do around, etc. Visited two best snorkeling spots. Nothing impressive with quality of corral and sea life. Only one kind of fish was there as they were feeding them to take pictures to sell you. This is the place if you want to walk on ocean line and shop in a very safe environment. Not for beach, swimming, or snorkeling. Wi-fi is OK not good to work remotely. Very small Swimming pool is good for 5-6 children to play, not for adults.

The room was clean, bed comfortable. Nice view, though more obstructed than I expected. The staff were very annoyed- I didn’t feel particularly welcomed. Even at checkout, there was no conversation about how our stay was. When I asked for things like an extra blanket I was met with annoyance. The bartender was nice, when she was around, which wasn’t much. No washcloths provided, which I found odd. It is very very loud at night which is to be expected downtown, and to be fair the door kept the noise pretty low all things considered. I wouldn’t go back mostly bc I felt awkward the entire trip and I even speak Spanish so it’s not like I expected anything crazy in terms of communication. I still wonder if it was cultural expectations based on an American hotel. They weren’t hostile- but they were not accommodating. If you want to be downtown with easy access to everything- and a clean hotel with a decent breakfast, this is a fine choice.

This property is listed as a four star hotel and it is not. It does not have all the amenities a four star hotel should have and it hasn’t been maintained up to that standard. I don’t completely dislike the hotel as it was clean and had good AC, but staff could’ve been friendlier and they were not. The pool is extremely small and poorly situated. You can’t enjoy the ocean view because right below it it’s a busy street full of smoke and noise. No beach access at all. No parking either. The kids couldn’t play in pool without splashing bar area for which the bar tender unkindly noted it. The best rate and price should be no higher than a 3 star. There’s a lot of noise as it’s situated on a Main Street. The terrace view is awful. The breakfast was decent but still not nearly close to a 4 star. I really don’t like being deceived by the wrong hotel rating. The rooms were poorly stocked with only 2 towels and a miniature shampoo bottle for a stay of four. So do not pay the rate of a 4 star hotel for this hotel.

The hotel has a lovely lobby, pool area, bar and balcony. You are on the main street but a level up and that keeps it quiet and enables a great view. The most memorable part of the experience is the buffet breakfast every morning. There is a large staff busily preparing food to order every morning. I was partricularly impressed by Sinthia who is one of the buffet managers for the hotel. We had a lovely stay.

We started our stay in an Ocean front room which had the most fabulous, large deck facing the ocean and main street. It was perfect for watching the Carnival parades. Our last night we had to move which the staff made seamless. Our second room was pretty much the same except the deck was smaller but we could still see part of the ocean and a little of the parade route. What made it a little disappointing was the fact there weren't any robes and we had half the TV channels, the English ones were gone. I would highly recommend this Hotel and if you want an Ocean front room book well inadvance.

We arrived on an extremely hot day and were warmly welcomed by the reception staff with refreshing, ice-cold face towels, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. The check-in process was smooth, efficient, and well organized. Elizabeth at the front desk was absolutely amazing friendly, professional, and very helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The hotel overall exceeded our expectations, especially considering the value, and the complimentary breakfast was a great added bonus.

If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would. It doesn’t deserve 3 stars but also doesn’t deserve 4. The location, balcony views, and breakfast were excellent. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. But if having a pool is important to u, u will be disappointed. It’s very small and bath temperature. That’s not an exaggeration. I’ve taken colder showers. Baking on a very worn, uncomfortable pool lounger and not having a good pool option wasn’t ideal. And if ur a light sleeper, the street noise and kitchen noise when they start making breakfast at 6 am might be an issue. A sound machine or app will help.

The rooms were spotless and smelled clean every day as did the rest of the property. Casa Mexicana is centrally located, convenient to shopping and wonderful restaurants off the main drag. Breakfast was included and cooked to order every morning. We loved our stay and I wish it could have been longer.

The location is great within very safe walking distance of many good shops and restaurants. It’s also an easy cab ride anywhere else. I met some repeat customers who had similar experiences. Hotel is clean, staff are pleasant, breakfast is good, great location, tv has some good movie channels, washroom small but had a tub and a large mirror and room enough for 2, you can drink the water and we did. No parking but we didnt need parking.
Dont show up early for breakfast. (My husband did (6:42am) and 1 staff person told him NO) I myself understand if they say breakfast is at 7am its 7am but others may not. Im sure they have turned people off by this. Put up a sign or stress this to people.... not everyone has the back ground or has had a job in the food industry to understand. Cheers

This is a good economical deal. I had a luxury room with a balcony facing the ocean and like that a lot. It kept fairly clean and I love the breakfast. The night before I left, I found a cockroach dying behind my toilet, but I think that that is not really a sign of their cleanliness but the environment. I would say that if you were going to try to work here or account on having any Internet at all, that would be a mistake. There’s effectively no Internet except in the lobby. There was a Wi-Fi hub 4 feet outside my door, but it made no difference.

From the moment we checked in, the staff was warm and inviting. Provided us with some delicious fresh drinks and cooling mint towels. The rooms were beautiful and everything was clean. The view was incredible, the location was ideal and close to all the shops and restaurants. The breakfast set up had many options and was always delicious. We did not get a chance to enjoy the pool but the set up was great. Above everything else, we were there as a remembrance to our father and it was around Dia de los muertos. The hotel had set up an ofrenda. They allowed us to place a photo of our dad on their ofrenda so that we may celebrate his life. I will absolutely be coming back and recommending this hotel to anyone visiting.
