Discover the Best Western Posada Freeman in Mazatlan, located on Olas Altas Beach, in the heart of Old Mazatlan, and close to the historic buildings of the 19th and 20th centuries. The Best Western Posada Freeman itself is a landmark built in 1944, the first high-rise 12 floors, in the Northwest region of Mexico.

In Plaza Machado, museums, art galleries, and The Opera House are within walking distance. Enjoy the different restaurants and bars nearby.

Our 72 rooms offer city and ocean views. You will also enjoy the convenience of wireless internet access available in all rooms including our lobby and meeting rooms.

Arrangements can be made for golf, tennis, deep sea fishing, city and country tours, and many attractions and festivals. Mardi Gras festivities are at our doorstep with parades, fireworks, music, dancing, and non-stop fun.

Mardi Gras is usually in late February or early March, over 100 years old, making our festivities the largest and best in Mexico. Enjoy your stay.

Loved the staff. Very chill environment and down to earth. Nothing fancy. Breakfast varied from day to day. Didn't love the hot dogs in scrambled eggs at the buffet but you can order an omelette instead. Rooftop patio and pool was gorgeous and very serene.

The Best Western is a great place to stay. The Art Deco style is a personal favourite and the Pacific ocean is little more than 20 metres from the front door! Friendly and attentive staff and a stunning pool area on the 12th floor giving a 365 degree view of a beautiful city.

We stayed in a suite with a large patio and sea views, which were amazing. Definitely worth the upgrade to the suite as some of the other rooms are quite small without patios. The suite was huge with a kitchen that we used several times throughout our week long stay as well as a separate dining room and living room (with sofa bed), bedroom area with two beds and two bathrooms. Big windows in all of the rooms that you could open for the breeze or just enjoy the view.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel property was clean and in good repair. Breakfast was included with the room and was open from 7 AM till noon every day. A good variety of hot items with a few small changes each day. Everyday there was some variation of scrambled eggs, a meat dish, Mexican dishes, vegetables, pancakes, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, and cereal with coffee and juices.
The views were amazing!!! The pool, though a little small, was never too busy and very refreshing and again- the unbeatable 360degree views.
Will definitely be back to Mazatlan and will stay in a suite at the Best Western Posada Freeman!!

This was by FAR the worst hotel stay I have ever had. The room was musty, the windows were so dirty you couldn't see out them, the sink and shower drains didn't drain, the beds were so hard I got bruises on my hips it was like sleeping on concrete. Concierge accused us of touching door glass when we only touched door handle and he was not nice about it. When we showed him that there were no hand prints on the door he waited til we walked away and started accusing us of touching the door again. I had to email the customer service to get problems solved in our room because when front desk was approached about it they told me there was nothing they could do about it.

The property is right across the street from Mazatlan’s malecon, And very conveniently located for many dining options across from or on the beach. The pool deck on the top of the building off, spectacular views, as too many of the rooms above level four. An excellent breakfast is included in the stay, which is a rarity these days and very appreciated. An all around wonderful place to stay at the southern terminus of Mazatlan’s beach front.

Wouldn't Stay Here Again

The location is good and the staff were very friendly. The property is looking tired. The rooms are very tight and the bathroom was in great need of a renovation. Cracked tiles, shower head wasn't working properly and it took a long time to drain. There's also no shelves or room to store bathroom items. The keys stopped working almost everyday so we'd have to go back down to get them re-programed. Since we were only there for 4 nights, it was okay, but wouldn't stay here again.

Daily cleaning was good but always had to ask for towels and shower gel. Our room was on the 7th floor partial sea view. The noise from the street did not stop till after midnight! Every night. Party town. Nice bar behind hotel called Macau lots of American locals there and a salon for a facial and massage worth the 60.00 close by. Overall a good stay.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at this hotel, we were lucky to upgrade to one of the suites with ocean view. It was so helpful to have a complete small kitchen, dining table and two full bathrooms. The staff was great, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, Specially Julio, he was super attentive and courteous, he took care of us during the delicious buffet hours. I cannot remember the name of one of the bellboys, he was also a waitress and cook!! he made us a delicious ceviche.
This hotel is the perfect place to stay, we will definitely be returning on our next trip.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. We were disappointed in the very poor buffet breakfast quality & didn’t eat there. Although the staff were friendly & many spoke English, when our bathroom flooded into the bedroom twice, the staff responded adequately but had to do the repairs twice!!! We were moved to another room but didn’t receive any other remuneration for our discomfort.

when there for business I always stay at the Posada Freeman. good internet. good breakfast. try to get balcony room if possible...just a great view of the ocean and Malecon. Plazuela Machado is a short walk where there are very good restaurants. Less touristy here.

1. Old smelly hotel. The water drainage in the shower and sinks is absolutely not working. I take fast 5 to 7 minutes showers. By the time I was half way with the shower, it was totally clogged.
2. Nestor and Yvonne of the from desk were extremely rude and homophonic. Every time my boyfriend and I walked by the reception they would giggle, look, stare, and make comments under their tongues. It really made us feel very uncomfortable. They need a gender diversity training as soon as possible.
3. One night we decided to stay in for dinner. We sat down in the restaurant and waited for 20 minutes for the waiter. The waiter did not show up. We walked to the reception and ask for the waiter. They told us they could not find him-her.
4. I will never ever set foot on this property again. I do not recommend it either for members of the LGBT community. There is a lot of hodophobia running around this hotel.

This is a historic (i.e. older) buiding in the Centro Historico right across the street from the malecon and waterfront. The location is great for exploring the surrounding areas, though it's loud at night until around MN when it becomes very quiet. The two greatest features of the stay were the heated rooftop pool, which felt like a glorious bathtub with a view, and the amazing buffet breakfast! There was so much variety of Mexican foods, including chilaquiles, several different stews, salsas, fresh fruit, pastries, as well as ham and eggs, pancakes, cereal, and bread for those preferring a more \"American\" breakfast. We would stay here again for those two features alone!

A few notes ... first off the Centro area of Mazatlan is not a quiet area. I knew that as I have stayed here multiple times.The staff here is great and very helpful. I had an issue with the key card not working properly because the battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replace the next morning and all was good in the world! WiFi ... since I have stayed here before I knew that the WiFi can be problematic. I had to get WiFi from the living room area instead of the bedroom, no big deal. About 3 years ago they added site blocking to sites you shouldn't be looking at anyway since you in paradise and don't need that stuff. I fully recommend this hotel ... and don't forget to catch the sunset on the roof!

El recepcionista era algo arrogante, no era muy respetuoso al dirigirse, y nos hizo sentir en todo momento que nos hacia un favor, definitivamente razon suficiente para no volver. Los cuartos no tenian lugar suficiente donde conectar laptop o celulares, solo habia 2 contactos y ya estaban en uso, tuvimos que improvisar. La recamara era para 4 huespedes, y solo dejaron toallas y articulos de limpieza para 2, cuando quisimos comunicarnos con recepcion para que nos enviaran mal el telefono no servia, rentamos 2 habitaciones y la otra habitacion tampoco tenia telefono disponible, es un hotel viejo en el que no han renovado absolutamente nada, y te tratan como si merecieran el mundo entero. En el desayuno, no nos dejaron comer agusto, nos interrumpieron la comida pidiendo que firmaramos papeles para confirmar que estaba comiendo la cantidad correcta de gente comiendo, por que supuestamente esta incluido el desayuno. No entiendo por que tanta desconfianza, en todo momento mantuvimos el respeto y el buen trato, por que los empleados solo recibian ordenes.

Esta frente a la playa, pero la mitad de las recamaras nisiquiera tienen vista a la misma, ademas no estan preparadas las recamaras para bloquear el sonido de afuera, por lo que todas las fiestas que habia se escuchaban adentro de la recamara hasta altas horas de la madrugada. No recomiendo el hotel, no vale la pena, hay mucho mejores opciones por el mismo precio incluso menos.

Very tiny room but a great view. Free water bottles were a nice added touch. Breakfast buffet was very good but advertised 7am opening but not set up and ready until 7:30am. Very loud from all the cars blasting their music but that is not the hotel’s fault.
