This hotel has a very nice pool and location. Beach had jellyfish and although they had sign up on pole they didn’t not tell guest of dangers after several people got stung. Property is old and TV did not work in room. No signal. Food by pool was poor quality and very expensive for the area. Pool staff very good with service never had to wait for a drink and didn’t bother you. Overall good stay and will come back again.

Gaviana is a bit old, but with many upgrades to meet the modern world and one's needs. It is perfectly located in the Golden Zone (Zona Dorada) with many restaurants, shops and entertainment just walking distance. They have their own spa, private access to the beach, buffet, pool and great ambiance.

This used to be one of the top places along the Gold Coast but it's getting a bit shop-worn now. The elevators were wonky and it seems have been for quite some time, they just haven't bothered to fix them... Overall a great location, nice size rooms, pretty grounds.

We had a great overall experience at Gaviana Resort in Mazatlán. The staff truly stood out—they were more than excellent, always attentive, friendly, and willing to help with anything we needed. The property itself is clean, very accessible, and perfectly located. Being centrally situated with direct beach access, available parking, and within walking distance to the pier made everything incredibly convenient.
The restaurant and bar were also highlights of our stay—beautiful setup, excellent views, and top-notch customer service.
The only downside was the bathroom in our room. It felt outdated and not very well constructed. During our first two nights, the bathtub drain didn’t work properly and had to be “fixed” twice. By the third day, I requested a room change, and while the drain in the new room was better, there were still issues. The shower head sprayed water everywhere except where it should, and water leaked outside the tub due to the tile not being leveled correctly to drain inward. While this didn’t significantly affect our stay, it does seem like something the property should address, as it could lead to water damage over time.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent service, location, and amenities—but the bathroom conditions could definitely use improvement.

I only stayed here because I saw that the hotel has a gym. Unfortunately the gym is only open 8am to 5pm and not available to working people. Please enable guests to unlock the gym with their key card like other hotels do. And please advertise that the hours are restricted so people know not to stay there

My husband and I went on a birthday trip, the reception employees weren’t very friendly. However check in was smooth. First thing we noticed once in our room was that it felt dirty…. There was sand on the floor and hair in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. As long as you leave the AC on you won’t hear any outside noise.

Rooom: water damage . There was water on rhe floor. We could not figure out from where it was caming from. There was a thunderstorm but everything was closed. There were other familiy members staying in other hotel but they were not allowed by their security to enter the bar to join us or walk along side with us even though the beach connected both hotels. I recomend staying in hotel las flores they gave us excelent service regarless we were not staying there. I would not recomend or go back to gaviana resort.

This has direct access to the beach with a great view. The service is great with a bar by the pool. They will even serve you on the beach side when you are relaxing by the provided areas with the chairs and shade. Service was great and the staff was very helpful. The Malecon is like a 4 min walk away from the hotel. There are iguanas that hang by the pool which I really enjoyed but if you don't be warned. Overall can't complain on the price I paid and the amenities offered.

The hotel resort is nice. Not the best. On service they tried to make it good. Got my room and didn't have towels, had to call front desk. My floor my dirty, had ask them sweep it while I was there. Not all rooms have safe. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my passports in our room. Easy walking access to stores, vendors and restaurants. Bought a cooler to keep my drinks cold in my room, because no fridge. Expect loud music at night if your not a party person. Got to see cool Iguanas!!

In our first room the sliding glass door couldn’t lock. The front desk said they would fix it. When we came back that night it wasn’t fix. Not only could I not sleep comfortably about it not locking….. the band and DJ were playing next to our room. It felt like they were playing right outside our door. So of course we asked to move to another room. Better room all around until night time, Now we could hear the music from the Oyster bar nightclub. Friday night the music was playing at 4am. Sorry to say but we will not be staying there again. Unfortunately for us the rooms/hotel were cleaned.

We recently stayed at the Gaviana over valentines week. We had a wonderful time, staff were very nice and accommodating. Location ways great, only complaint was our room faced the nightclub next door and it was very loud on the weekends at night, we knew that going into it from our research though. We stayed at Gaviana for one night as a bridge to the nearby resort we booked for a week starting the next day. Arrived around 1 PM on Friday and were checked in immediately even though it was early. Nice, clean, basic room with a King bed and an ocean view. Right in the heart of the Golden Zone, so lots of dining options nearby and only a short walk to the north end of the Malecon. The staff was welcoming and friendly and had someone who speaks English avao;ab;e if needed. The only way it fell short is if you are a sun bather - real sun bathing, not sitting under an umbrella around the pool. Like many of the smaller resorts in the area, they simply are not properly equipped for those who want to lay out in the sun. So, I would recommend this resort if such is not a priority for you.

Our room looked over the pool area. Our first night in room 419 the smoke defector started chirping at about 3am. I called reception and she sent maintenance up to replace the battery. There was no hot water at all to take a shower. My husband found this out. We told them at the reception desk and sh said she would get it fixed. Didn't happen. I will never stay here again.

However I’m surprised how understated the noise issue is.
Our first room was located on one side of the building overlooking a bar that has a brass “Banda” that plays until midnight and then dance music til 4am nightly. Not just weekends. Every night.
The concrete on the hotel acts like an amphitheatre and the band sounds like it’s right outside your door.
There is no way to sleep through it. It’s LOUD.
So after 3 nights when we realized it was not just a Friday and Saturday thing we asked to be moved to a quieter room which they did with no questions (turns out everyone asks to be moved from these rooms!)
Unfortunately we were moved and downgraded from a balcony/ocean view to no balcony and a tree blocking the only window.
And right above another bar that plays dance music til 4am with bass that literally rattles the windows. Again, no sleep.
We lasted 3 nights there before talking to another couple who told us the quiet area is the centre and that they moved 3 times before discovering it. Finally we found a room that we could sleep in.
