The room is very basic. The beach is a pay per visit view. The hotel is in a very noisey area and the rooftop bar is not maintained and the tables are all falling apart.

I would be somewhat hesitant picking the hotel. It's not actually at the beach and there is only one free entrance but more importantly it's very noisy due to a nearby nightclub and there were a lot of local Jamaicans staying at the hotel, some of which were drinking and smoking weed (the later is quite normal in Jamaica but not something I am used to or appreciate being close to). The staff did its best to help and accommodate me (including the security guard who is there from 5 PM to 8 AM). They were very friendly but this was not exactly the kind of place I had expected when booking. I also kept struggling with mosquitos in the room that we never managed to get rid of even if the latter was probably just unfortunate.

One of the finer places we've been to thats clean, close to great food restaurants, activities, and the beach, AND budget friendly. Parking is provided inside the property plus the stay comes with access to the beach. The rooms were spotless. Slight hickup if you're checking in/earlier than 8am as no one is in the office but the security guard helped us with checking out because we had to leave before 7am. Overall, we're definitely coming back to this place. The location, access, security, and proximity to the beach are features that I'd come back for.

DO NOT STAY HERE — BED BUGS.
This was a terrible experience from start to finish. Staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, often more focused on smoking outside than assisting guests. Basic requests were met with attitude. The “direct beach access” is misleading and limited unless you pay extra. Hot water is unreliable, Wi-Fi barely works, and the rooms are poorly maintained.

We were bitten repeatedly at night and later confirmed it was bed bugs—even after being moved to a different room. I have photos for proof and had to see a doctor for treatment. Management was dismissive and dishonest about room availability, and staff tried to charge us for ridiculous things while we were dealing with this issue.

We’ve reported this to the health department. If you care about cleanliness, honesty, or basic comfort, avoid this hotel at all costs.

I had a disappointing experience at Ocean View Beach Hotel, which rents rooms in three-hour blocks and requires a US$50 cash-only deposit. At check-in, I was shocked to learn they wouldn’t accept a credit card for the deposit, leading to a frustrating process involving calls to the manager, who insisted on cash. This made check-in unnecessarily complicated and unpleasant. I paid the deposit but noted I’d be leaving early for a flight.

The hotel’s downtown location felt unsafe, with drug addicts and touts lingering nearby, making nighttime walks uncomfortable. Contrary to its name, my room had no ocean view, only a wall and stairwell, and was not located on the beach but rather in the middle of a municipal car park. On a positive note, the room was very clean. At 6 a.m., after inspecting the sheets, towels, minibar, and beds, the night watchman pulled my cash deposit from his pocket and returned it to me. As we left early, we found our car locked in the municipal parking area and had to navigate a confusing exit through an entrance gate as the other carpark gates were locked or blocked.

Due to the cash-only deposit policy, unsafe location, and short-term rental practice, I would not stay here again.

Amazing Hospitality/Clean Rooms

I had a very difficult time in Jamaica where I had to get the police involved. The woman at the front desk was SO Polite and friendly about the situation making sure that I was OK. I cannot thank you enough! Definitely stay here whether you are on a cruise ship or not (the staff is wonderful!!!!)

Lovely experience

Very nice quiet place, we booked 2 rooms that our kids can sleep in their our room next to ours. There was plenty restaurants around and shopping broad walks by the beach. We did not tried the beach through it was just 2 steps away from the hotel, we came to do waterfalls activities and we did. Excursion to Dunn’s River was the best!
Plus they have a free parking space, because we rented a car to drive around the island we looked for safe place to leave it while we doing excursions.

This property was clean and convenient to everything including shopping, restaurants and most of all the beach! About that, the hotel gives free access and towels to ocho rios bay beach tjat is literally next door which saves guests US25. Factor that into the cost of a room at the hotel and that's a steal for sure. No need to worry that they offer no meals because there are restaurants and atms galore footsteps away in both directions. The television didnt offer many channels but did you really go there for that?

I stayed at this property because it was rated 8 on Expedia. The rating should be a 3 out of 10. The rooms are small with no chairs, no tables, no dresser, just a bed with a shelf area. I stayed 5 nights and received 2 bottles of water total. The property has no bar, no pool, no restaurants and no lobby area. It's more like a motel and not a hotel.

This place was a nice quiet location near lots! Everything basically is walking distance. Patrick the security guard was the best! All night security. Nice that it had easy access to beach, but the location doesn’t pull properly on GPS and access is difficult as it’s same as for beach, and parking is limited. Clean, and very basic. Nice for an overnight stay as it’s cleaned, air conditioned and near beach. Beach closes at 5pm. Getting deposit back was simple, just don’t ruin or steal anything.
