They were super accommodating! Every one is friendly and kind. Family oriented and Alma and Ferman were above and beyond we wanted. I needed hot water for my herbal tea treatment late at night and they got it.5 star all the way.

The room was clean and comfortable. This property has more of a local vibe, more Spanish speakers than English- but it’s México so normally for the native language to be used more. I didn’t have any issues with the staff, even if you don’t speak Spanish you can usually communicate. The food is good, not great. The way you have to set reservations for specialty dining is inconvenient, you have to wake up at 7am to go stand in a line before all slots are taken. The beach is nice, but there are a lot of vendors and banda groups, so it can be a little loud. If you have a quiet relaxing stay in mind this might not be the right place. But it’s affordable and fun. Drinks are strong and plentiful.

The hotel is in a perfect location, the staff is very welcoming and courteous. They keep the grounds very clean. The gym is small but well equipped. You'll have your choice of pools, including an infinity pool overlooking the beach ⛱️. You really can't lose booking this hotel. I plan to return very soon

Everything was perfect. Relaxing atmosphere with live entertainment in the afternoon. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options. The evening buffet had a different theme every night. For those who play it safe with food options they also offered pizza, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and french fries. The snack bars had plenty of options from hamburgers, fries, nachos, fried rice, chicken and shrimp chow mein, and sushi. The servers were wonderful. Everyone was friendly and wanted to make sure you were taken care of. Rooms were cleaned and re-stocked daily. The only issue (and it wasn't terrible after being in the sun all day) the water for showering didn't get very warm.

I was very UNHAPPY! First time being disappointed in Mazatlán. First off, there’s a limit to how many people can stay in a room and they charge for every person including children under 8! I don’t like going to a hotel where the staff wants to invade my privacy and wants to know who all is staying in my room including names and ages. Especially if I’m only paying for the room only not any amenities or meals. I am a very private person and I highly disliked that! Second off my mom and dad are American citizens who live in Mazatlán and wanted to visit me and their grandchildren and wasn’t allowed to enter the hotel with out a day pass!! Which was 980 pesos per day! That was outrageous to me. I was so offended they completely disregarded my feelings at the front desk. Lastly, while at the cabanas on the beach I was extremely annoyed with all the vendors constantly coming up to us asking if I wanted to buy items. I’ve been to Mazatlán plenty of times and I don’t need any items! I couldn’t relax peacefully at the beach without people soliciting us! Those vendors shouldn't be allowed to cross the line where guests are sitting at on the beach! I was so annoyed and ruined my relaxation moment! So disappointed coming from west Texas I don’t recommend staying here!

Most of the staff were great. Cafe for all inclusive is okay but you can't leave the cafe with your coffee. The bands on the beach are to loud and close to hotel can't hear anything but the horrible drums throughout the property. 4 of us got food poisoning from the buffet. Check out at 11 when you fly at 6pm isn't reasonable. We had to pay an extra 60 a room so we weren't on the street until our flight. Wouldn't recommend.. won't be back to that resort.

Hotel is very spread out. We did not like that you could not get bottled water or a drink until 11:00 a.m. because that is when the bar opens even while having breakfast, no bottled water. Could not get toast, no toaster. Could not get latte etc while having breakfast or lunch etc because there is no machine anywhere that you can push a button and get different coffees. Coffee pot in room, which you have to ask for, requires opening the bag and pouring the coffee grounds into the small filter and hope the grounds do not get under the filter otherwise, you have a bunch of coffee grounds in your cup. Really cheap.
Due to the age of the hotel, a large part is the old dark tiles which echos. The staircases in the older area are quite dark and it is hard to see the stairs. That was a big complaint we heard from a lot of olderish people.
Food overall not bad. It definitely caters to Mexicans and the breakfast is a lot of the same.
The location of the hotel is between 2 public pathways so you have a lot of locals setting up umbrellas. You also get a lot of Mariachi bands right in front of the hotel sometimes 2 or 3 bands at the same time which will play well after dark.
Staff overall were quite nice, you play a lot of charades because they don't speak english. We would not go back to this hotel.

The staff was absolutely amazing.
Food at the buffet was ok, the ala carts were better but the reservation process was frustrating.
Pool bar wasn’t open as advertised.
Lounge chairs were far and few between, also very uncomfortable.
No sound proofing, hallways were very echoey and loud.
We were on our honeymoon (which they were aware of) and we were put on a floor with loud young families and young party people.
Nightly entertainment was very disappointing.
Birds everywhere in the buffet and pools.
We will not stay there again or recommend it to anyone

This 80 year old hotel is in a great area my room faced the ocean and the beautiful waves crashing like a lulaby at night. The room was clean and comfortable a bit musty smelling becausec of the dampness but that went away with the patio doors open and sunlight in the room. I loved the 9 pools the lovely plantings the excellent staff the aquafit and the complementary breakfast buffet. Right on the beautiful beach . Great for families and holidayers

First I would like to say that Luis, our waiter in a few different venues was so incredibly sweet and welcoming and made you feel at home anywhere he was working. What a fantastic guy! Carmen, the lady who cleaned our room was so nice, she gave us a little hug goodbye on our last day. Overall, the staff was very friendly - but there were definitely people that stood out and went out of their way to take care of you. The beach at the hotel was awesome. The water was very inviting!!! While I expected there to be people selling items on the beach, the Bandas were unexpected, and while not to our taste, the problem was how LOUD they played when they would stop. For food, definitely find Casa Roberto, it was a very pleasant dining experience, and make reservations for the Italian and Brazilian Swords nights. We also liked the cafe above the pool in the morning for coffee and pastries. Overall, we had a very nice time.

Beautiful beach but not enjoyable due to the noise! Our room was right over the veranda so lights come on at 3:30 am loud noise as they clean and prepare for the day. The balcony ocean view was fantastic. Every area I. The hotel is easily accessible by the beach . There are many little pools all over the property
The bad : the service is non-existent, forget bad, you are just ignored
Anything advertised for kids is unavailable - kids club was closed the whole time. The kids water parks don't have running water just shallow stagnant water
The food was terrible even local food , which I love was watered down , breads were stale; no one bothered with refilling buffet stations that were empty
This place was equivalent to a econolodge.
I must note that this appeared to be an Expedia problem rather than the hotel itself. I don't think anyone has verified details.
It's also not an all inclusive but default so be careful when booking to make sure id that is the option

All in all , you will pay an equivalent $$ for a much better place on the strip.. don't get conned by the \" deals\"

Hello, just wanted to share with you all that my experience with the entire team at Hotel Playa Mazatlán was incredible! From the start when we got to the gates the guards were so nice but very meticulous with security ( that was a huge piece of mind) then the lobby staff are amazing and it was cool sooo a huge plus too!
Than the bell boy and the rooms,the room cleaning staff as well as the pool and restaurant's staff were amazing and the FOOD, the FOOD IS DELICIOUS!! Literally music, games or shows every single night! I recommend 100% without a doubt! I will come back next year with more family.

The view from the balcony was amazing all day long. The room was good for the price, I would upgrade the next time.
There are absolutely no words for the staff. I cannot stop bragging about them. Luis, Markus and so many more were AMAZING!!!!! Great job staff!
I have been to other areas of Mexico and never felt unsafe but lots of warnings. Here we walked all over and never felt more safe. We went all over with little to no escorts. The street are so clean compared to other areas of Mexico.
The options of things to do are unlimited and ran out of time. The beach is beautiful and the water is perfect for swimming.
We watch dolphins play while eating breakfast.
I would consider a Tour to Rancho Mr. Lionso a must. A Tequila ranch with so much to offer, ATVs, horse back riding and so on. Amazing people and cannot wait to go back.
The only draw back is snorkeling and scuba diving a limited, but there is so much more here to make up for it.
We will most definitely go back.

Check-in was a breeze (but we checked in on a Tuesday- we saw the weekend looked super busy). Very friendly staff. The room was wonderful with an ocean view. Comfortable beds. The hotel is all inclusive, so it is super difficult to get drinks or food if you don’t buy the inclusive bracelet. The buffets and other food options are kinda average but the waiters and bartenders are great. The area is very convenient to shops and bars but just KNOW the area is VERY busy on the beach and has super loud music, it’s kinda overwhelming!

Staff was great i wish i wound check the reviews on yelp before i made my reservation. Food was not so good. The all inclusive on my personal view is not worth it. The beer offered all around the hotel is one of the cheapest Waterdown beer. Buffer food not worth it. Room has small brick mattress with tortilla thin pillows no small fridge had to purchases small cooler to keep some drinks cold. Restroom small and shower door damaged it didn’t closed. Construction on site that at 7am I was wide awake with all the hammering and loud noises. I won’t come to this hotel next time. Now that I’m around just seen better hotels around also beach front and much better rooms and better prices

Great location and nice pools but the rooms leave a lot to be desired (outdated). Had booked for 6 nights but only lasted 3 nights because of the room. If you don't care about the room much then is a great value. I moved to The Courtyard by Marriott and was happy with the room.

Great location near the Malecón and on the beach. Fantastic staff, very clean, great pool area with many options. We did all inclusive which was nice, however only one main restaurant is open each night, as well as the buffet. No option to choose to eat at whichever restaurant you want, and you must make reservations by 11am. We were under the impression that there were many restaurants to choose from during our stay. This was not the case.

We had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Plaza Mazatlán! The property itself was beautiful, with stunning architecture that gave it so much charm and character. Its central location made everything so convenient—we could easily walk to shops, dining options, and plenty of local attractions. The beach and the boardwalk were just a short walk away, which made exploring the city even more enjoyable.

The staff were absolutely amazing—always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help with anything we needed. They kept the property spotless, and we truly appreciated the care and attention to detail. A special thank you to Olga, who took such wonderful care of our room each day and made our stay feel even more comfortable.

Transportation was never an issue either; right outside the property we always found friendly and affordable options to take us to nearby areas that were just as beautiful and fun to visit. The food choices were fantastic, offering a variety of cultural flavors, but the seafood in particular was absolutely outstanding—we couldn’t get enough!

We were completely enamored with Mazatlán and truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. We’re already looking forward to visiting this vibrant city and staying at this hotel again. Highly recommended!

The property installations are OK but tue AC in our room was noisy and wasn’t working well.And the service all inclusive is not worth it. The different restaurants are mostly all the time booked and it has a short limited time to book your reservation for restaurants .They limited everything even water bottles. The Flavor and freshness for food and drinks wasn’t good either. The servers people look overwhelmed mostly all the time. The best part for this hotel is that location you can walk to main street and Malecón. Our family was disappointed on our stayed here. In case that your rent a car, don’t do it by the application Expedia or other applications do it direct with the car rent company, insurance offer bu the apps for the renter car didn’t work in Mexico and you have to do everything again and more money out of your pocket.

This is a beautiful hotel. BUT people are allowed to walk through the hallways with speakers box playing loud at all hours .It would of been nice,if security STOPED them.My second complete is the bathroom window NO privacy if you open it people walking by can see in .I had to use a towel to block window for privacy. Bathroom window should be fogout or something 🤔 My first an last time

Sin embargo, es practicante imposible obtener reservaciones en los restaurantes de especialidad para cenar, estuvimos 4 noches y ningún día alcanzamos reservar ya q solo lo puedes hacer en un horario de 8-11 am, la comida no es buena no vale la pena el paquete todo incluido, no es un hotel silencioso donde se pueda descansar tranquilamente se puede escuchar todo lo que sucede alrededor del hotel en tu habitación y nuestra habitación el baño tenía moho en el techo.

It was a great old property (in very good condition) with a lot of history. It's the perfect location around a lot of great restaurants and fun shopping opportunities. It was also fairly close to the old downtown district, which can make for some amazing exploring!

We will definitely stay at Playa Mazatlan again.
