If cost and location are paramount then good hotel

You get what you pay for. Very sparse room. 'Tired' best describes it but it was clean and the restaurant downstairs served decent food. The location is fabulous with shopping and dining on your doorstep and a tram stop and all sights less than 10 minutes walk. Breakfast buffet was laughably bad.

You get what you pay for

It was a good value hotel above a restaurant. Pros are that it is moments from Gulhane tramstop in the heart of the tourist district; it's surprisingly quiet considering its location. Check in was slow with one of our two rooms not ready for 45 minutes. Safe was anything but (you could just pick it up) and one fridge not clean. Beds were firm and comfortable a d air con worked albeit noisy. Breakfast was very basic, coffee machine temperamental but the staff were friendly. Would we recommend? Depends entirely on your budget. If you value location and price over amenities then definitely.

It’s a great location, and for that the hotel is a fine value. But there were some disappointing issues. There was a general lack of care and maintenance: my room was dirty with scuffs and marks on the walls, the shower was missing a drain, the common areas often smelled like cigarettes, etc. The wifi was also slow and spotty to the point where it was unusable. There might be better options in the area, even for budget travelers.

I am a seasoned traveler in Turkey.
I have been to Istanbul at least 40 times.
I always stay in 3 star budget hotels in Istanbul.
The Adora Hotel was my least favorite so far.
One of the staff members is detached and totally uninterested in the hotel.
I found him to be useless.
The wall area outside a room on the 5th floor is very damaged.
The rooms had no telephones. The rooms do not have
a safe.
I was offered a very small portable safe and I refused it.
I found the breakfast to be less than average.
It was just o.k. and very boring for me.
The juice came from a machine, and it was not natural.
The hotel staff at times kept the door open to the outside and this made no sense to me.
Sometimes I could feel the cold drafty air throughout the hotel.
The staff keep supplies on the 2nd floor in the hallway
and this looks untidy.
I wish I could say that I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.
I did not.
The owner obviously is not interested in the property at all.
This is very sad.
This hotel needs better leadership and capital investment.

I wish my stay had been better.

The staff were good and the restaurant was quite nice however there was too much noise, you can hear doors closing and opening all day, you can also hear taps turning on and off. There is also no warm water, I had to request for a kettle to have access to warm water and was told they have no kettles. Breakfast was also included however there isnt much for offer as the breakfast included burnt tea and old bread.

A place to stay when you don’t stay (in your room)

This is the type of hotel that you use when you just need a place to keep your luggage. The rooms are small, breakfast is basic.
When the porter showed my wife and I our room, he discovered that the air conditioner was broken. Management did not bother to get it serviced nor change our room. Needless to say, this was poor customer service.
Nevertheless, this hotel is located next to Gülhane tram station, right off a main street (Hudavendigar Caddesi).

Adora - Great Place to Stay in Istanbul

We really enjoyed our stay at the Adora. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs and inquiries about anything we wanted to know. The hotel restaurant food was absolutely fantastic and we ate most meals outside on the patio. Rooms are compact with fairly large bathrooms that are clean and modern. The location is ideal-within a 10 minute walk to Topkapi Palace and the Archaeology Museum and neighborhood shops-the metro is also one street over for very easy access to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Ciserns. I would highly recommend the Adora to anyone staying in Istanbul.

Basic hotel in great location

The hotel is situated in a great location close to the tram and areas of interest. Yusuf the front manager is friendly and helpful. My husband and I are both seasoned travellers so we pack light and use small suit cases, but the rooms are so small there was no where to put clothes or toiletries. I made a mistake of placing a small stack of clothes under the Airconditioning unit to find that they were wet from a leak. We could hear quite clearing the guests in the next room using their bathroom. We love Istanbul and the people of Turkey, and hopefully will return one day, but I think we would look for another hotel.

If you are not too choosy yoy will love Adora Hote

Enjoyed our stay in this boutique hotel ideally located in the center of the Sultanameth district. Close to street car stop taking you over Galata bridge to Taksim. Personnel very friendly and most helpul. Dinners where typical Turkish specialties and delicious. Would recommend to anyone not too choosy but enjoying a great stay and centralized location.

Great Hotel

Adora Hotel is within close proximity to the historical sites of Sultanahmed Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Aya Sofya. It also has a tram link that takes you to the Grand Bazaar and other interesting parts of the city. Although a 3 star hotel, it is clean, the staff are very helpful and friendly. I didn't not have any issues with the hotel expect for my initial reaction to the size of my room- not much room for a single room with a double bed!

Breakfast was great and included in the room charges. I definitely recommend to any one visiting Istanbul.

The staff did not make much effort to welcome us and were a little off-hand at times. Made us feel awkward for being there. The size of our room was terrible. Sat on the bed and could touch the door, no room to put anything. Breakfast was disappointing with cheap juice, rock hard cakes, no toast.

I stayed in Adora Hotel for one night. Latif was on duty and he was very helpful and booked transfer to Istanbul airport by shuttle van for me at 7 Euros (or $10 USD). Staff were very helpful and accommodating. I only stayed one night and after traveling for 15 hours I was very tired and went to sleep. I woke up at 2AM and had breakfast before shuttle transfer came and collected me at 2.45AM. For a one night stopover to catch the plane early next morning, this hotel is Excellent and served the purpose very well.

Nice hotel hidden away

In the old part of the city so no road up to the front. Our room (303) was small and walls were thin, you could hear your neighbour and the cleaners. This room was at the back of the hotel overlooking the corner of the tram. We could hear this but it did not bother us. Don't know about the front of the hotel for noise. Slept well and shower room clean.

Unfortunately it was a bad experience. I stayed at the Adora hotel 2 years ago and it was great. This time I book 2 rooms at the hotel again to spend some days with my family in Istanbul. When we got at the Hotel 9:30PM, they told us that they did not have one room available. They offered us a room for 3 people in a near hotel but since I was the only person from my family who speaks english. We could not get separated. I told the manager to do not worry, just give me a refund I will go to another hotel. They keep insisting for us to stay separated. After more than 20 min discussing, they told us that they got another room available for us. When we got into the room after 1/2 hour, it was the dirt room possible, smelling cigarettes (I book a non-smoking room) and in extremely poor condition. We were so tired that we end up staying there that night and we left the day after to a hotel called Historia were the service was excellent. Adora unfortunately became more a restaurant than a hotel. Sad, but disappointing.

Adora Hotel, great place in a great city

If you are not looking for a 5 star hotel this place is the right place when you visit Istanbul. Walking distance to all the historical places. When you arrive you will find a beatiful pedestrian street with Adora Hotel welcome you. The staff is friendly. They would answer any question you may have. Latif, the receptionist, is a blessing for any tourist, he will offer you a cup of te or coffee, he will guide you through the city or call a taxi or make any other reservation. This hotel is lucky to have him. Food is excellent, if you prefer dont eat in other area. Very secure place.
Visit Adora Hotel if u want a genuine turkish experience and dont a Sheraton experience.

Lovely little hotel

The hotel itself is located in an excellent location and is within walking distance of Topkapi Palace, Archeological Museum and Blue Mosque. Gulhane tram stop is literally round the corner and is very cheap and essy to use. The rooms were small, but very clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant downstairs was also lovely.

The only hiccup we had was with the airport transfer. We had contacted the hotel before our trip to arrange for an airport transfer to pick us up from the airport, however despite waiting at the airport for over two and a half hours and contacting the hotel, the transport never arrived. This led to us having to seek an alternative transfer which took us on a nightmare journey! When we arrived at the hotel, the staff didn't seem very concerned about what had happened and tried to charge me twice for the transfer that never arrived! They tried to charge me once when checking in and them again when checking out.

Overall, the hotel was lovely and in an excellent location, but I'd take the tram from the airport if I ever stayed there again!

Getting to Adora from the airport is very simple: Buy two tram tokens and take the metro from Ataturk Airport to Zeytinburnu. From Zeytinburnu take the T1 tram to Gulhane tram stop and the hotel is just round the corner.

Cute little hotel

I think this hotel is in a great location if you are taking the train line. Taking a cab, we had to walk from one block away with our luggage. I stayed in a 3 single beds room with 2 girlfriends and it was a good experience. Hotel staff was helpful and the complimentary breakfast and wifi were added pluses. I noticed the air conditioner was not working to full capacity in our room, but the weather was so pleasant that we didn't complain about it. Overall great trip in Istanbul and the hotel was nice.

Good Hotel location with easy access to Ferries, Train Station, Trams, Topkapi Palace & Museums, the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. The Spice and Grand bazaar are walkable. Lots of local restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms a little small, but I suspect they all are for the price. There is a laundry, same day service, two blocks away. Istanbul Airport very crowded. Allow plenty of time to get through the system. Money change, good rates, three blocks away.
Overall would recommend the hotel and location.

Reasonably priced hotel in a very central location

The hotel was within easy walking distance of the main attractions, such as the Topkapi Palace, and there was a tram stop very close by. The restaurant was good, although there was no fresh fruit for breakfast. There were some good restaurants nearby. We were initially given a triple room, which was good except for minor faults such as no hook in the bathroom to hang clothes on while having a shower, no tissues, etc. We were later moved to a double room which was quite cramped. The staff were helpful but they booked us on a shuttle to Sabiha Kokchen airport which cost three times what we paid for the same trip from another hotel and twice what we paid for the return trip (booked on the internet). This was still only €15 and the hotel was otherwise good value for money.

Excellent location - convenient for sights & transport. Staff friendly & helpful.
Plenty of choice for buffet breakfast. We ate at the restaurant outside at the front of the hotel & very attentive staff served good meals. Other regular diners were from neighbouring hotels & they commented on the welcome & the standard of the food.
Our room was adequate size wise, but spotless. The bathroom was a good size & towels were changed daily.
The hotel represented excellent value & service was not compromised.

Tried but true

Adorable is a bit frayed about the edges but what it lacks in frills it makes up for in value,service and location. The staff goes out ofor their way to assist the guest. You can virtually walk to every major site in the old and new city. It is located less than a full block from the tram stop. I was able to take the Metro from the airport and change to the tram to get to the hotel very easily saving a lot of money even with a large roller bag and backpack. The breakfast that is included has lots of choices and is substantial. The restaurant serves delicious food at reasonable prices.

The room was small but perfect for a business trip and noise was not an issue even with a front facing room given the area is a tourist hot spot.

I would definitely recommend the Adora Hotel to anyone travelling to Istanbul. It was very easy to reach by public transport and walking distance to all the major attractions. The staff were so attentive and always interested in where we had been and offering suggestions. I had to stay up late one night to await the arrival of a relative and the staff made me cups of tea and called the taxi to make sure he knew the location of the hotel!

Close to Topkapi Palace, short walk to Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque, quiet side street just off tram route. Small simple clean hotel, very friendly staff - lovely welcome with a cold drink of apricot juice. No roof terrace. Room not cleaned every day but wasn't a problem. Simple and adequate Turkish breakfast - range of cheese, cold meat, dried fruits, salad etc - lovely yoghurt but only on one day. Overall, few frills but a very good base for seeing the old city.

Fantastic hotel in the main city centre!!!

This was a great hotel for the following reasons:
-Great location near major sites I.e. haya sophia, basilica etc
-Great transport links I.e. near tram stop
-Great Turkish breakfast with a wonderful variety of different types of food
-Great staff. Everyone was friendly, approachable, hospitable and helpful, especially in terms of where to go and what to do
-Great room I.e. was clean, comfortable, generous supplies of toiletries

convienient and great service

the service was great - they were prompt to greet and assist in any way possible and stored luggage between various legs of our journey. The breakfast buffet was generous and provided many options. the triple room we shared was spacious and faced the front - a relatively quiet street. the single used during another part of the journey was tiny and faced the tram stop - so noise was an issue. Internet service was intermittent on the floors though good in the lobby. over all a good value and all members of the group said they would stay at the adora again.

Friendly staff and great location.

I had pleasent stay at this place for 3-4 days in June 2014. The room was a bit small, but comfortable enough.

There are 3 reasons I'd recommend this hotel:
- Friendly and helpful staff:
Friendly staff who're quick to help you out. Yusuf, at the front desk, is always ready to bring out his map and help you with you directions on how to get to where you want to go.

- Great location:
3 minute walk to the tram station which takes you to most of the touristy places. 5 minute walk to the Topkapi palace. 10 min walk to the Blue Mosque, Hage Sophia and Basilica Cistern. 10 minute walk to the ferry dock, local bus station and Galata Bridge...I guess you get the point.

- Excellent Restaurant:
They have a small restaurant with outdoor seating. The menu offered a good variety and the food was excellent. And having eaten at some of the other restaurants in the area, I'd say their food is defenitely tastier than most.

Overall, it's a nice pleasent hotel and I'd definetly recommend it to others..

Review of the Adora Hotel, Istanbul, Turkey

This modest, but well run hotel suited my requirements perfectly. The staff were warm and friendly without being overbearing or intrusive. They were always ready to give support and help whenever needed. The facilities were good, a small but well appointed room, comfortable bed, plenty of storage space for clothes and other personal belongings. The shower room and toilet was well designed and all facilities worked well. The room was clean and the bedding needs were adequately supplied and changed as needed. Air conditioning unit was available as required. The whole hotel was clean and welcoming. The variety of foods provided at breakfast was good and plenty available as needed. The location in a small side street was exactly what I wanted, easy to reach from the airport and within walking distance of many of the historical sites I had comer to view. This hotel provided a fine base for a thoroughly enjoyable stay in Istanbul. Totally satisfied. Thank you

Could've Done Better

Before arriving at this hotel, we emailed and arranged a private transfer from the airport, the hotel did this for us, and all seemed to go well, until the transport was not at the airport and we had to wait approx. 1 hour, after trying to find out what happened. The hotel didn't really seem to care or worry we'd been left stranded. We also later found out that the hotel was over charging us for a few things. As far as the hotel goes, most of the staff are helpful, and do a good job, however, we really had to push sometimes to get the assistance and information we required. In our first room the airconditioning didn't work, thankfully there was another room available because it was very hot without air con, they moved us with no troubles and provided us assistance doing so, which was very helpful. The second room was much better, slightly bigger and on the top floor. My particular bed was too small for me, my feet dangled off the edge and i almost fell out whilst rolling over. For the rate we paid, we saw a few other hotels within the area, and asked what the rate was.....they seemed to be much much better value. All in all, it wasn't the worst experience or hotel but we def. could have done better.

Fabulous little hotel

The Adora is a fabulous little hotel and restaurant, tucked away in a side street in a busy and bustling area but easy to find and very well located for some of the major sights of old Istanbul, such as the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque - all of which are a short stroll away. It's literally just around the corner from Gulhane tram stop so is very well connected to the public transport system. My room was a standard single but it contained a double bed, a wardrobe, two bedside tables, a dressing table and a television - as well as a decent ensuite bathroom. It was compact, clean and comfortable. There was a little bit of noise at night as sounds drifted up to my third floor room from the street and restaurant below, but some ear plugs did the trick (always advisable) and I slept soundly enough. Breakfast was standard continental buffet style and was perfectly acceptable. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and I particularly liked the restaurant staff who always made guests feel welcome. The restaurant itself served good food and was always a cheerful place to return after a full day sightseeing. Getting to the hotel from the airport was fairly straightforward - follow the signs to the Metro (M1) and buy two tokens, one of which should be used for the journey to Zeytinburnu where you should then use the second token to transfer to an adjacent platform for the tram (T1) travelling in the direction of Kabatas. Get off at Gulhane. Allow 45 minutes.

Good Location but Odd Service

The hotel is in a find spot to access the old city, and was very close to the rail line as well to access other spots. The room was very small and the shower was not close to being clean. The biggest disappointment however was when we asked to get some laundry done we were quoted 4lira a load and they turned around and charged us 4lira a piece which ended up costing us 60lira, which is more than most 5star big city hotels. This and the odd looks and strange answers from the door guy has lead us to not recommending this place to other guests.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Adora Hotel! Highlights of the hotel are its central location, it's very close to every major attraction in Istanbul- the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern, the Bosphorous, Topkapi Palace and the gardens outside of it, the Spice Market, the Grand Bazaar, and so many other things. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Also, the hummus that they serve downstairs is the best I've ever had, and you should also try the mezes sampler, delicious!

Excellent location and caring hotel staff.

Wonderful hotel located steps away from the T1 Gulhane tram station. Most major attractions are easily accessible by walking or the T1 trams which arrive every 5 minutes. Fantastic caring staff treats guests like family. They provided excellent tips of things to do in Istanbul and how to get to the attractions. They made arrangements for Turkish Bath reservations and pick up services.

Enjoyed our 3 nights stay there (early March 2014). Great location - very close to tram station & easy access to few main tourist attractions. The room (triple sharing) is comfortable & clean. Convenient Old City location

Tucked away in a side street down the hill from Hagi Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the Adora Hotel is comfortable, affordable and convenient. Amazingly helpful staff help make your stay and sightseeing run smoothly. For example, our flight landed early in the morning to pouring rain so by the time we got to the city we were drenched but still over 4 hours til we could check. The staff gladly let us check in early, and allowed us to visit the buffet breakfast as well. Highly recommend!

horrable hotel this was.....|||

It is one of the horrable hotel of that town. There are plenty plenty hotels in the same area where it is located. But no other hotel is as horrable as this one. Was booked this hotel for 7 days but as soon as we ( me & my wife) reached there after a long flight, deceided to leave the hotel in just half n hour. Stayed there for only 1 hour max & thrn went outside to search somr other. Found a new hotel which was 10 times better than of this but in just 1.5 times of the price of this one.

finally charged for one night & rest days money was being refund to us.

would not reccomend it for a single day's stay even.

Great location, very nice staff, good value

The hotel is located a few meters from the central tram stop of Gulhane, next to the Blue Kitchen Restaurant. The position is perfect for exploring Istanbul, the most of the main attractions are a few minutes away by foot, the rest are easily accessible using the nearby tram line. The rooms are small (let's say cosy) but very clean and our bathroom was massive. Minibar is relative cheap and you get free slippers, soap, conditioners, shampoo and shower gel. The staff is very knowledgeable, polite and friendly and can always help with locations to visit, tours and general information. Breakfast is buffet, a mixed of continental and cooked breakfast. Very nice and abundant. The only negative side is that it is a bit noisy, mainly due to the tram line passing next to the hotel (but there are virtually no trams at night) and to the walls that are a bit thin (so you can here everybody slamming doors or passing by the stairs). However I managed to sleep quite well (and my sleep is very fragile), but I suggest using ear plugs. Price is very affordable and very good value for money!

Good hotel in the old part of Istanbul.

Very friendly and helpful staff who never gave the impression that they were only helping for a tip. The lobby and room was clean and comfortable and had everything you need. Breakfast was fine (usual affair of breads, cheeses and meats with some other random accompaniments).

Small nice hotel in the centre of old Istanbul

A small hotel with a superb location for those who want to discover istanbul by foot, within easy walking distance to Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, Suleymania Mosque, the Galata Bridge. There was plenty of small restaurants all around the hotel, some of them tourist traps, but most of them quite ok.
Breakfast was ok. Rooms small but clean, with TV and Internet connection. The hotel's PC and printer was also available for printing boarding cards and other notes.
The personnel was superb, extremely helpful and friendly. They gave us some very good tips for better restaurants that even had a free of charge pick up service, which was very nice the first days. When we left at 5 am they organized us a full breakfast, which normally didn't start until about 7am.

Good hotel

The hotel room was smaller than expected however it served our needs and was comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly and the area was quite pleasant to stay in with lots of shops and cafés. The area the hotel is located in is very accessible and the tram station is jus a few meters away from the hotel. Overall a good hotel, nothing fancy just enough to serve your needs.

Good location not so clean bathroom

I saw good reviews on trip advisor and I had a high expectation on this hotel.. The location is great, the room is small but I guess that's a norm in Istanbul. What turned me off is the loud noise from the heater and not so clean bathroom.. There is no fan in bathroom so I think that's why it's the way it is. However the bed was good and clean so that was overall ok stay, but if I had a choice I'd choose a different hotel,

I found Adora hotel , excellent . In all areas, clean , spacious comfortable room, staff attentive , providing excellent customer service , location is only 5 minutes walking distance to all main historical attractions , including the Blue Mosque , Grand Bazaar , etc . Great, central hotel

This was the most expensive place we stayed at in our two weeks in Turkey, but it was worth it. It's very centrally located (less than 10 minute walk from Aya Sofia, Topkapi, Blue Mosque, and Archaelogy Museum, 20 minute walk to Galata Bridge, 2 minute walk to streetcar.) It was nice to be able to duck in for some quiet and free coffee/tea between sightseeing. Staff were very helpful. The feeling is a bit formal, but very pleasant.

This hotel is centrally located. The rooms are just fine, but they are not particularly comfortable. On the other hand, the buffet breakfast is by all means a shame. This is not a boutique hotel, but it is fine for a short stay.

Great location and service with a smile!

Do not expect fabulous amenities or spacious rooms when you arrive at the Adora, but you will be greeted by friendly staff and great service.
The rooms are small (this goes for most hotels in Istanbul) but they are quiet and beds are comfortable.
Breakfast is lovely - simple Turkish-style - and the front verandah provides an opportunity for great people-watching.
All-in-all we enjoyed our stay at Adora and would recommend just for the quality of the service.

Great hotel in the Old City centre

I've stayed at this hotel at the beginning of May 2013 and I can now say that it had delivered a very good quality for money. I and my friends didn't have any problems, the room was clean, the staff was very friendly especially one of the receptionists (Abdullah) who was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very tasty with plenty of food to accommodate different tastes including some traditional Turkish food such as halva, simmit (Turkish sesame bagels), Turkish coffee and tea and much more. Also, every time when we were coming back from our daily trips we were asked if we want any tea or coffee for free. At the end of our stay we also received a free Turkish delight box each. If we go back to Istanbul, Adora Hotel would definitely be first on our list.

Hotel was comfortable enough, but I would clasify it more as a 3* property. Quite dated however did the job for 1 night. Good location close to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and a short walk to the Spice Bazaar and the ferries.

From the time of our arrival until departure I found the staff (manager, desk clerk, and all-around assistant) to be friendly, courteous, and helpful. The manager up-graded our room at no extra expense to us, which made our staff even more comfortable. The buffet breakfast had everything one could want and its cost included with the room as well as complementary WiFi, which always worked. The location is superb with tram, restaurants, cafes, historical sites, and museums all nearby. I highly recommend this boutique hotel. I almost forgot to mention that Turkish tea is available self-service---and on request a cup of Turkish coffee.

Excellent Place to stay in Old Istanbul

Pros: Wonderful, amazingly wonderful staff run this place that do whatever they can to make your hotel stay more comfortable. Solid breakfast, comfortable rooms. Cons: Wifi can be a little spotty depending on where your room is, but access speeds are very good when you are connected. This was my third trip to Istanbul and I've stayed at the Adora all three times due to the excellence of the staff and the great location.

Friendly and well situated

I would strongly recommend this hotel. It is right in the old city a short walk away from the major sites and right next to a tram stop. Our room was small but clean and neat. Very nice bathroom - with a walk in shower which was lovely. The breakfast buffet was fresh and well-stocked - the only problem being no toast available. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back there again.

Perfect locaton, tram stop steps away, easy ride to and from airport, just off a main street, walk to Blue Mosque, et al, shops and restaurants all over the area, slightly hilly, Adora has elevator. What makes the Adora the perfect hotel is the fantastic staff and manager Burhan who helped with everything I needed....such a pleasant visit (3 days), won't find friendlier and more helpful staff anywhere. Also, breaksfast very good. Good heat and air con. Room a bit small, and bed kinda hard. Everyone spoke very good English. Highly reccommeded

Best bits: very helpful, friendly staff. Excellent location especially if you come to Istanbul for the history - Aya Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and ferry quay (for trips up the Bosphorus) all a short walk away.

Worst bits: Shower rather grotty - worrying cracks and poor grouting. Room rather small for a double.

A little difficult to find - suggest more prominent sign on front of hotel.

Fabulous value

For the price and location, this hotel was ideal. The staff were helpful, the cleaning lady was lovely. As I was waiting for my bus to the airport after check out (slightly crazy driving but for 5 euro sooooooo much better than the public transport slog in the summer heat), they brought me a cold drink and some turkish delight! How nice!

The room was small but more than adequate, good bathroom, good aircon. The noise from the tram is fairly loud if you are a very light sleeper, but it never woke me before 8am.

Breakfast, for me, was pretty unappealing. Have the tea, which is nice. The coffee is dreadful. Pastries were mixed. However if you eat lunch food at breakfast (cold meats, cheeses, it's probably fine.

The area is very touristy, there was a number of fairly pushy salesmen who did annoy me. I'd rather stay on the other side of town if I went back, especially on my own. my advice is to never stop moving :)

Don't bother with this one...

It all started out pretty well, when greeted at the front desk with Turkish Delights and cocktails. The lobby and outside seating areas, were quite sweet and simply - which we liked. We were told that we have been upgraded to a better room - and once got into our room... it was AWEFUL!!!

We joked that perhaps something was lost in translation, but then we didn't really want to know what a standard would have looked like - so we just dealt with it. First, the bed... it was like sleeping on the boxspring without a mattress. Second (and the worst part of all), the bathroom... GROSS!!! We needed another shower after showering in this bathroom. Lastly, breakfast... to simply put it... go eat elsewhere.

Exceptionally friendly and professional staff makes you to feel at home, and wantIng to revisit the place.
Rooms not large but very clean, well maintained, and quite comfortable. Generous breakfests.
Sitting at a table of Adora's front cafe, and watching the street life while being served by the welcoming staff, is a unique experience almost as attractive as anything else that this fascinating city can offer.

Good service but bathroom full of mold

Hotel is well located, near to metro and grand bazar in walking distance. Service is very good, personal very helpfull and friendly. Rooms are good sized and comfortable. We stay in the first floor and the only problem we found is that the bathroom was full of mold. I am not a picky person but the mold in the bathroom was horrible, mold was everywhere. We told the front desk the mold problem and they said that they will clean it. Next day was the same, they did not even try to take it out.

Adora is perfect location

I recently went to Istanbul for the first time and was lucky enough to pick the Adora. You couldn't pick a better location. It is just around the block from the tramway and right in the middle of most of the sites in the older part of town. The rooms are small as most are in Europe but there was plenty of room to put away our clothes. The breakfast was wonderful - fresh foods! Will stay there again for sure. The only thing I would change is that the pillows were very flat.

Hotel staff were excellent especially Burhan and Erdi were very helpful.Rooms are tiny but so clean. There are some minor problems such as small fridge and lack of a trash bin inside the room. There is no restaurant inside the hotel,unlike what they advertise. only a small area for breakfast with 4 tables, as such, you have to wait some times for a while to sit but some nice restaurants nearby. Hotel location is great and close to visiting areas.

Great staff; horrific room

I really wish I could write a good review because the staff at the Adora was wonderful. However, the mattress was hard as a rock, the room was either freezing cold or swelteringly hot, the shower ran all night (not just dripped, but actually ran), and the heating unit vibrated and shook so that my husband and I were unable to sleep a wink.

The hotel owner needs to do some major upgrades: new mattresses, new heating units, and plumbing repairs. Even though the location is wonderful, the hotel was not cheap, and it was definitely NOT worth what we paid. I would have gladly paid more per night to stay in a place where we could get some sleep. We stayed for three nights at the end of two weeks in Turkey, and we ended up going home utterly exhausted.

I cannot recommend this hotel. We saw people in the hotel asking for new rooms, but the new were as bad as the old. We saw at least two parties leave early to go to other area hotels. It's a shame as the rooms were clean, though quite small, and the hotel has a lot of potential. I hope the owner will invest some money to make it livable.
