Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. The breakfast was great and the location was superb. Small downside is that the rooms are a little dated but that didn’t hamper the experience. I’d stay at the hotel again

Comfortable bed with a pillow menu option available. Sheets were nice. There was little to no noise at night. Toiletries available in the bathroom were shampoo and shower gel and habs soap, l’occitane brand. Shoe shine cloth, and a vanity kit( didn’t check what was in there. Plenty of towels . Only downfall was ther hair dryer. One speed, dry slow and the button needed to be continually held to stay on. Shower pressure great and water temperature good. Room temperature for ac is set for a low point of 21C.

Breakfast is a very good buffet. Lots of variety. The staff ensures the restaurant is clean, the food is topped up. Very pleasant staff. Did not have any other meals there. Lobby bar has good wine and beer options as well as spirits, 2 tvs .

Gym is very small but has all equipment to do a basic workout. One older treadmill, rowing machine and an elliptical bike.

Very convenient to river area. Often used as a pick up spot for tours so convenient.

Really great location, less than 10 minutes walk from the bus station for trips away from the city and less than 10 minutes walk from the Triple Bridge. Breakfast is fantastic with lots of options and staff constantly keeping food topped up. The bed was also very comfy with almost no noise from corridors and other rooms, so got excellent sleep.

We really enjoyed our stay at City Hotel. The room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were extensive and delicious. The hotel is in the city centre and very convenient for visiting the city. The one thing we hadn't realised was quite how big the hotel was and it felt a little impersonal. Otherwise, we were very content with our stay.

The hotel is very centrally located near the bus/train station. It is accessible to many tourist attractions and along the waterfront with lots of restaurants. You can take a bus from any corners out of the main city.
The room I booked was very spacious. The amenity is very basic (but without conditioner) and is enough for me. They have air-conditioner and the window can also be opened for fresh air.
The staff are very friendly. The breakfast at the hotel is very good, it is a full breakfast with hot and cold food.
Something unique about this hotel is that, if you decided not to have your room cleaned for the day, they will give you 2 complimentary drinks at the bar. As we stayed for 6 nights, we had it cleaned on alternate days and we got the complimentary drinks. A great idea and win-win for both parties.
I will highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is visiting Ljubjana. We had a great stay!

Only problem was the hair dryer which kept shutting off every few minutes apparently since it was overheating. A minor issue. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Liked that we didn’t have to maneuver the old town streets to get to our lodging. Better to have convenient parking and walk around this beautiful city!

Excellent location a short walk from the river and major attractions. It is also a short walk from the bus station if you want to visit Lake Bled. Breakfast is self service with a very good offering of dishes hot and cold with plenty of fruit and was included in the price. A special mention to Luka who arranged storage of our luggage (as we arrived early in the morning) gave us a map, directions and recommendations for eating out. Our room was small, but well thought out with good lighting and excellent pillows and linens. A most enjoyable stay and well worth considering if you are visiting Ljubljana.

We've just returned from a 3 night stay. Hotel is in an excellent location, literally everything is close by! We also discovered a few 'alleyways' across the city which were shortcuts.

On check in Reception staff were professional, helpful, friendly & smiley. We used Reception several times, different staff & they were fabulous & all had a sense of humour.

The use of free umbrellas for guests to use was a nice touch.

Breakfast were great, fuss free and plenty of choice.

Bar area was lovely, service was efficient. We also ate in the bar one lunchtime and our food (Tuna Poke Bowl & Club Sandwich) were really tasty & well presented.

We made use of the Hotels 'Green facility' not to have your rooms cleaned daily, in return gave you 2 vouchers to use at the bar!

I prebooked the hotel airport shuttle, to and from the airport. We were met in Arrivals / collected at the hotel and both Drivers on time & friendly. Great service.

We would have no hesitation in staying here again or recommending this hotel.

Overall our stay was excellent. Hotel is well situated close to the old town with a 5 minute walk to the main sights. Room was clean and spacious for a European room. Only negative was the noise of cars and people. We had to leave our window open to get come cooling in the room and there was a lot of late night yelling (Saturday night) and cars driving around the corner. May be quieter on the other side of the building.
Breakfast was great.
Would say again if I visited in the future.

Our stay at City Hotel, Ljubljana was excellent from start to finish. The staff were extremely helpful. We arrived earlier than expected and were able to store our luggage whilst we went off to explore. Our room was everything we needed - clean, spacious and with some thoughtful extras (water, slippers, nice toiletries - and an umbrella!). The bed was very comfy, we both slept well!
Breakfast was also excellent, with so much choice, a really great start to a busy day travelling and exploring the city.
The bar is also great, lovely cakes too! The hotel offers a \"green incentive\" - if you don't need your room cleaned, you can have a voucher for a free drink.
There's a free water refill in the hotel lift lobby, we used that a lot - and lots of other amenities that we didn't use (gym, massage, terrace bar).
I would recommend a stay here - it's 5 minutes walk to the bus station, and about 5 to the river, so not only a great hotel, but also a brilliant location. I'm sure I'll stay here again.

A lovely clean hotel with helpful staff. Had a comfort double room which was very spacious. Looks newly refurbished, so modern with a nice reception area. Very central to the old town of Ljubljana and a short walk to the bus and train stations. Breakfasts were lovely with a wide variety of hot and cold food. Staff cleared tables quickly and replenished food regularly too. A fantastic stay at City Hotel.

The supermarkets were closed for two days we were there so we had to use the shop downstairs which was extremely expensive (€7 for a tube of Pringles)
A lot of graffiti around the local area.

Very well located, just a few mins walk from the river/old town. Plenty of staff available, and customer service was excellent. They were very acommodating and let me store my bike in the secure locker in the car park, including storing my bike box whilst I was on the road for a few days.
Breakfast buffet was great, plentiful and lots of choice.
Only downside was that rooms don't have a/c that guests can control. Instead, it's centrally controlled, meaning that my room was only just about comfortable with leaving the window open during the day. It was borderline too hot in my room - they really do need to invest in a modern HVAC system. Other than this issue I'd give it 5/5.

The location is great and you can easily walk to all the main sights. The breakfast was exceptional, great and varied choices and will keep you full to dinner!

We also enjoyed a free drink, which is offered if you opt to not get your room clean.

The cons of this place is the air con. Its centrally controlled by the hotel, and despite it being cold outside, it was uncomfortably hot for us inside the room. The bathroom is also pretty basic and they didnt even have a conditioner.

Our room was also near a pub and it was very noisy until 11. Also i didnt find the staff very helpful at the desk. The lady we spoke to felt like she didnt want to be there, and hardly explained anything when we asked for recommendations.

Overall if you are looking for something central, and great breakfast, but dont mind a basic room and basic service, then this is a good spot.

I had a really enjoyable stay at City Hotel Ljubljana. The location is excellent, super central and especially convenient for getting picked up for day tours making logistics really easy.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the breakfast had a good selection with plenty of options to start the day.

The room itself was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated the hotel’s eco-friendly initiative where opting out of room cleaning in exchange for a drink voucher was a nice touch.

Overall, a great, well-located hotel with good service and thoughtful details. Would definitely recommend for a short stay in Ljubljana.

However, the room got quite warm during the day, but because it’s quite early in the season, the hotel hadn’t switched on the AC. Also the shower wasn’t great and the TV was useless (most channels were glitching). The breakfast buffet was good, with lots of choice.

Perfect location, great rooms, with a very good shower and an extremely comfortable bed. The heating is regulated, so it is always at a comfortable temperature. At breakfast, there was plenty of choice to suit all tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the toiletries provided in the rooms were L'occitane, Shampoo, shower gel and hand wash, along with slippers for your comfort. They didn`t skimp on quality.
We were also provided with cakes in our room on our arrival, which was a nice touch.
We booked four-day trips before we arrived in Ljubljana, and were collected from outside the lobby, which was also very convenient.
I highly recommend this hotel after a seven-night stay, and we were sad to leave this wonderful city.

Clean room. Good breakfast. Fitness room is small but perfect for my needs. You can choose not to have your room clean and they give you a complimentary drink (put the tag on your door ) - I really liked this idea.
Overall a nice experience , only suggestion is : if you have light sleep maybe book an interior room. The city can be a bit noisy at night and you may hear cars passing by if you have a view over the street . I didn’t have any problem with it, but I know some people would . I will definitely stay in this hotel the next time I come to Ljubljana

This hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the historic city center where there are many choices of restaurants and stores. The property itself is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast included in the rate is very good. We arrived at the hotel early, way before check in time and had to wait for the rooms to be ready. To compensate us for our wait we were all given room upgrades. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
