We had an amazing stay here and would absolutely recommend it, especially for a couple. The location was perfect—just outside the busy tourist areas but still close enough to get anywhere easily, which made it feel more relaxed and authentic.

The staff was fantastic—friendly, helpful, and always available when we needed anything. A special shoutout to Sarah at the front desk, who was quick-witted, super fun, and made the experience even better. It’s those kinds of interactions that really stick with you.

There’s also a great restaurant right across the street that ended up being a highlight for us.

The only downside was the room setup. It felt a bit tight for three people, and the bathroom layout was a little unusual with the shower separate from the toilet and no door on the shower.

That said, overall we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.

I thought the staff was very welcoming and my friend and I enjoyed conversing with them a lot. The hotel is very central making viewing the sights very pleasant and convenient. Also in terms of dining options multiple restaurants are nearby making it an overall great stay

Loved this hotel. There is no lobby but the restaurant is good and the rooms are large with tall ceilings. I was here for work so the location was perfect. Quiet and safe but near lots of nightlife, restaurants, etc.

I arrived around 11pm and the location is in an alley that at night looked a bit sketchy. Honestly thought about just taking the loss and moving location. But as soon as we entered our room I was very happy I stayed. Room was no 7 and it was the largest room and bathroom of our entire trip.

Greeted in room with lovely note and a couple treats. Bed was very comfy and beautifully decorated in American SW/industrial mix. Comfy chair and 2 desk chairs and plenty of room for our luggage without tripping over our things.

Had breakfast the next morning which was made to order for eggs and bacon and was good. Once we walked the neighborhood in the day it really was a great location. About 20-30 min walk between Montmartre and the Siene. Metros and busses nearby but we like to walk.

Area is more of a local scene which is great as families and people went about their business. Restaurants and brasseries are just a few blocks away on a lovely street. first time I’ve explored this area behind the Louvre and had a great time at the street market Sun am. Highly recommend for a quiet easygoing stay.

Nice central location, and easy access to metro stations...but there is street nearby with lady of the evenings you may want to avoid. Otherwise, perfectly fine, also, very clean...tiny elevator, appreciated the A/C. Fresh croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast! Good coffee.

The hotel has a great deal of character and is located in an area with fewer tourists. The rooms are small and spartain. It would be nice to have at least one comfortable chair. In room coffee would also be appreciated.
The hotel should not be advertised with a restaurant. The restaurant is across the street. There is no room service. There is no place in the hotel to relax. The lobby is tiny and is used by the hotel staff for meetings.

Great hotel and in a fantastic area for exploring Paris. The metro is close but it’s a very walkable city and Bolt is very cheap. The atmosphere in this area was amazing! The rooms at the hotel were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooms are lovely and the bathroom too. All looks recently refurbished. I would definitely stay here again. They also provide the most beautiful tea from a specialty tea shop!! Well done Hotel Edgar.

The property was in a great spot, close to various Metro stations to get around Paris. The room was small but ideal for what we needed - the bed was very comfortable.

Unfortunately there were a few miscommunications between staff members and we hit a few snags during our trip. When we arrived, we were given a card to a room that was still dirty and had a guest’s old food and drinks items in there. The staff did sort this for us fairly quickly and gave us a new room, offering us a free breakfast the following morning as an apology. We were advised that a note was added to communicate with the restaurant regarding this breakfast offer, but when we went down the next morning we were told they didn’t know anything about it. The same person was on Reception that checked us in, and he told the restaurant he didn’t know anything either, but we were there when it was agreed with him and one of the hotel managers. It was a bit frustrating but we just found food elsewhere as we didn’t want the hassle.

Overall a good stay, and we still had a lovely time in the city.

Edgar & Achilles was perfect for what I needed! The staff was all super friendly and so helpful. The rooms were stylish, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast was SO GOOD. Easy 0.2 walking distance to the nearest metro stop with plenty of great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

our room was quiet at night. We were there just one night as we were flying home the next day. Our room was cute but very small, even for European standards. We left early for the airport the next morning before the restaurant opened for breakfast and they gave us fresh oj, coffee and a croissant to go.!! Very nice!

The bed was everything, our first night I needed to get a good nights sleep and did every night with no problem! Stayed for 5 nights. Hotel staff was great each and every person. Ask for room 501 great view. Loved the restaurant breakfast was good, I loved the yogurt with all the different kinds of nuts on it and a touch of honey prefect. I will stay here again no problem.

The pictures are not what it shows in the Internet. Room and hotel was very old and had weird smell. The moment I walked in which was like at 11:30pm I knew I couldn’t stay there. I had sent a message earlier and informed them it was for my husbands birthday. When my husband tried to turn TV on, it wasn’t working. Regardless I couldn’t stay there so the 15-30mins we were there was to figure out how to look for another hotel. We left midnight to another hotel. There was no refund. I don’t recommend.

It’s a basic room, ok for somewhere to lay your head but the shower was in terrible condition & in need of a deep clean to remove black mould. Someone tried our room door handle at 3am, I reported it to security who told me I was wrong. I was not mistaken, I got the fear of my life & did not feel safe then onward. There are homeless people who stay right outside the hotel entrance to the left, who we could see from our room window. They leave their cardboard boxes and belongings there all day. As well as leaving bottles of urine by the doors. I would not return and would advise for safety to avoid this hotel

I had a lot of problems in this hotel. When we first arrived, the key cards to the room weren’t working and when we finally were able to get into the room, there was a very fishy/musty smell. They also advertise that they had air conditioning, but when we got there, it was super hot outside and when we asked about turning on the air-conditioning, they said that it was a central unit and it couldn’t be turned on because in the following days, it was gonna be cold. It was like 80°F outside (and in my opinion that constitutes as a temperature that requires AC) and to be told that we couldn’t turn the AC on was very inconvenient. We decided to call Expedia and after Expedia talk to the hotel they were able to turn the AC on so that just made me think that they didn’t wanna do it in the first place when we asked and that’s why it wasn’t the best experience for me. I do have to say that when the smell in the first room that we were at was very strong and I asked the reception to give me another room. They were accommodating and they did move me to another room. Again in that room, the smell was still present so I think it’s a hotel-wide problem but we open the smell did go away. The area is not central to all the main Paris attractions, but there are bikes super close that you can rent and it was pretty accessible and easy to use and overall the best mode of transportation that I found.

An exceptional group of people work at the hotel. They are welcoming and caring. My room was modern, efficient, and well-maintained. The hotel was within walking distance of two Metro stations. I purchased the breakfast plan, which was good value. The restaurant staff are very professional and serious about food! I enjoyed every breakfast and did not hesitate to return for dinner. I will stay there again when I return to Paris and highly recommend the hotel and restaurant.

This little hotel is delightful. The rooms are small but I stayed here with my teenage son. Plenty of room with baggage. The beds are very comfortable. Room was cleaned. Every day. Staff were welcoming and helped out. Would definitely recommend this hotel to families or if you’re staying on your own The continental breakfast that they offer it is much better to have coffee/breakfast outside of the hotel as it’s much more cheaper the area which the hotel is in is lovely only a 15 minute walk to the main attractions when you get out the underground do not be put off by the area

It was a really nice cozy hotel. My room was on a 5th floor with a Juliet balcony and a nice view. It was clean and quiet! The surrounding area is quite and taxi sometimes struggled to find it, but other than that it was a really nice stay. Location is 30mins walk (10mins ride) from Place Vendome. Really good if you want to stay in central Paris.

The location of the hotel is just what we needed.

The only notes I’d add are: There wasn’t a coffee maker (or a kettle) in the room, however, it’s at the reception area.

We arrived for check in late in the evening. The room type we had booked and paid for was not available, we were given another room in the adjacent building. The new room was adequate, and not in the best decorative condition. From the online description and images of the room we had booked it felt like the room we had been given was not of the same quality.
The grout in the wall tiles of the bath area had black mould in it - easily rectifiable with bleach.
We were offered two free drinks tokens as compensation for not been allocated the room we booke!

Everything was excellent. I spent a long weekend here. As a solo female traveler from the US, I felt very safe and found it easy to explore all over Paris. The immediate area around the hotel has MUCH to offer from food/drink to shopping to sightseeing, you name it. The trains were easy and served as an excellent mode of transportation. I would definitely stay at Hotel Edgar and Achilles again. My thanks to all the wonderful and caring staff!
