The room was cosy and lots of restaurants around the area. The train stations were close to the hotel. Lots of good boulangerie around the quiet lanes like Maison Maé.

Everything was very nice overall, and I truly appreciated the hospitality. However, I did notice that the gluten-free options at breakfast were quite limited.

Additionally, there were no clear labels indicating which products were lactose-free or gluten free. As dietary needs like gluten and lactose intolerance are not uncommon, it would be wonderful to see a wider variety of gluten-free and lactose-free options, clearly marked, in the future.

While the staff was pleasant and very helpful there was no A/C in the room, the location is in a dirty unsafe neighborhood, and the breakfast is nowhere near a 20 euro value. To top it off -- there is NO ICE IN THE HOTEL. The clerk had to get a few cubes from a small refrigerator in the kitchen. I booked the hotel because of the Best Western name. This place does not live up to the BW reputation. Stay away. Not recommended.

The rooms are tiny. I was there on my own but even two people would have to choreograph their movements very carefully. Having said that, I am very happy with the trade-off. What I want in a room for a short stay is that it is perfectly clean and that everything works. This hotel offers, in addition, a coffee maker in the bedroom and a really wonderful breakfast buffet (which I signed up for by mistake.) Staff were helpful and smiley. My only slight reservation is the location. The area around Gare du Nord is not the best and the hotel is in a side street, which is quite well lit but which I nonetheless felt was a bit daunting. It wouldn't stop me staying there again though.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights from 6 - 11 September 2024 (over the last few days of the Paralympics.) It was an excellent base for us to explore Paris and travel to and from CDG Airport, Gard de Nord, and out to Versailles. We arrived early on our first day so put our cases in their storage area and set off on foot to explore the canal area, Gard D’Ouest and finally off to the Marais area finally returning at 11pm! The staff were helpful, most spoke English, our room and the hotel was very clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast catered for all tastes and was very enjoyable. In terms of the room, I found the lighting a little too subtle in the bathroom for me and would have liked a small magnifying mirror to help with makeup/ shaving. Lovely bathrobes & slippers provided. I was concerned after booking the hotel when I read reviews about safety in the surrounding area and at the nearby Metro stations. However, we went to the Metro stations south of the hotel and soon had no concerns. Staff at the Metro stations were extremely helpful. Safety and cleanliness on the Metro was also very good. We definitely benefited from the money invested in Paris as a result of the Olympics. The quiet street the hotel was also being smartened up. There were also a lot of restaurants and cafes a few streets over to the west of the hotel which were buzzing with atmosphere we discovered too late on our last evening. We would happily return to the hotel and wish its staff well.

Hotel’s staff is very nice and helpful. The location is easily accessible by metro. You can go to main tourist attractions by metro and don’t need to spend on taxis. The bed was comfortable. The property looked modern and remodeled.

We prepaid for a room with two beds and got two very small rooms next to each other on the top floor. Very uncomfortable for three tall people, had to hunch over and no room whatsoever in the shower. We checked in and left within 10-15 miles minutes.

The room in the TV didn’t work and they were all rooms available for me to change into… the walls were very thin, so you could hear everything with your neighbour. The smoke alarms constantly kept going off during the night as people are smoking in their rooms.

Disappointing Customer Service

In general the hotel is very good, location is great to walk everywhere, decoration is super nice, breakfast was good. Rooms are small but it is what you expect in Paris.
The low rating is because we had bad luck and were allocated a room without a working Air Conditioner. We reported it to the reception on a Friday evening when we arrived and we were told there was nothing to do because of the time (9pm) but the next day a technician will come and fix it. We understood and agreed to spend the night without AC.
On Saturday morning we reminded the new receptionist who didnt know anything about it (no handover of issues). Saturday night after a long hot day walking the city, no AC fixed and when we complained they said no one would come during the weekend to fix that so we could have a fan if we wanted.
I was really annoyed that they weren't honest from the beginning so we stayed until Monday without AC on a 28 degrees/68% humidity nights inside a room without AC and windows facing to a load restaurant's terraces.
No apologise/compensation from anyone even though we saw different staff everyday. Total disregard to our needs and complains.
As I said the hotel is good but the management is terrible, no customer focused at all.
After having the receptionist yelling at me on Saturday night in the lobby in front of other guests because we contacted Hotels.com to complain, we decided to leave it and dont let them ruin our trip to Paris.
Disappointing experience.

I walked from Gare du Nord which is around a 15 minute walk, but I wouldn't advise it at night. Really grubby intimidating area, even for a big guy like me.

The elevator has room for one person. The room itself was tiny. I'm 6,2 and my head touched the ceiling. I had a show over bath, but had to shower kneeling because with the extra height of the bath I couldn't stand up!

The hotel is in a quiet side road so there is very little road noise. The room was very clean, but the bed took up most of the space in the room. A longer stay may have been challenging as there were no draws, only a wardrobe, however for a long weekend it was perfect. The bathroom was new and very clean. The receptionists were always very helpful and eager to help.

Great location. Beds comfortable. WiFi spotty and constantly drops off. No light in shower. Staff friendly only on surface, otherwise truly unhelpful (was hoping for a bathtub as in the photo.. nope. Night shift not talking to day shift. Located in passageway where many rough sleepers congregate. Always fresh urine. People dealing. Otherwise near to loads of fun spots not far.

It’s a good location near to lots of cool stuff. The bed is comfy. Water pressure good. Tho bizarrely no light in the shower. Coffee and tea not replaced after first day of four day stay. No shampoo. WiFi is slow and intermittent. Really non functional practically.
Front door is located in a dodgy passageway. People sleeping rough, fresh urine constantly, drugs and people being sold. There was a significant police operation today, nine officers.
The photos do not depict the place accurately. They showed rooms with bathtubs but when I asked for one there wasn’t. The cool guy on the night shift apologised and was good about it. Said he could get us the right room next day no problem. But then the next day the UberParisian manager stomped on the idea saying he hadn’t got the message. Worse, the director of the hotel suggested to me the problems with the safety of the passageway had to do with me not liking “mixed neighbourhoods”. Ha. Love them. That’s why I picked the place. And I’m in a mixed couple. People of all backgrounds deserve safety. The safety issues outside have nothing to do with it being a “mixed neighbourhood” to be clear. Unbelievable.
Anyhoo.. left with a really bad taste in my mouth and felt disrespected in the way only an Old Skool Parisian can really pull off.

That hotel was in a very bad area in the city. There were several homeless people sleeping right outside the hotel door. It was terrifying. The female receptionist had absolutely terrible customer service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Not the best area in Paris

Friendly staff and a very quiet room but the area is not as salubrious as it could be. Fortunately the room had a safe so I could lock away my valuables rather than carry them. If you’re in this part of the city though it’s the same wherever you stay. The room was tucked away at the top of the hotel in the eaves so couldn’t stand up right in half of it - great if you are looking for a Hunch Back of Nørre Dame theme...

Best thing about this place was the warm welcome

Reception staff, particularly Mohammed, were great! We were initially a little taken aback at the small size of our room but the facilities were clean and in good working order and the beds very comfy. Despite being in a part of town that my friend described as the Bronx, we felt safe and our room was very quiet. Location was great for a short visit- a 15-20 min walk from Gare du Nord and 5-10 mins from Gare de l'Est.

Great value, excellent location.

Perfect hotel and location for a short break. Small room with good sized bed but to be expected in Paris, clean and nicely furbished. Hotel in heavily African populated area but absolutely no hassle, plenty of shops and some lovely bars and restaurants on the streets parallel to the main street near hotel. Literally 2 min walk to Metro station and 5/6 stops to main tourist attractions, 5 minute walk to stop for tour bus also where tickets were on sale too. Would definitely recommend, great value.

Diverse area and non-touristy

I stayed here for a couple of weeks so I got a good feel for the hotel and the area. This is a small hotel on a narrow, closed off and quiet side street. The staff was very friendly and professional. I thought the room was average size by PAris standards. The shower was very very small. I prefer a stronger water pressure in the shower. I noticed there was a wheel chair lift for access into the lobby.
I was a little nervous for the first few days because there seemed to be a lot of unemployed men hanging out in the vicinity of the hotel. It is a working class neighborhood and apparently the residential area for several diverse immigrant populations. I was surprised by the vast number of salons and shops for women of color. The area is also a live theater district, and there were a number of contemporary plays running during my stay. Several blocks away (only a few minutes walk) are a variety of eating places, including a recently named Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant called \"52 rue Faubourg-St Denis\", also its address and only a 4-minute walk from the hotel.

Deccent hotel, nice staff, great location.

Double bed was really big so comfortable sharing with the friend. One slight awkwardness was that the shower wasn't really in the separate room, but it was really a minor thing. Great location. Would go back.

Perfect Location

I appreciated all the staff but most especially the lady who runs the front office in the day. She gave us directions for the metro which made traveling easier. The location, environment, and shopping in the area made my experience wonderful.
The only thing I did not like was the price of a small bottle of water (3 euro).

Staying in Paris for 3 nights to visit family and watch tennis at Roland Garros. This hotel is located in the African quarter of Paris, which we did not realize when booking. However, once you understand that the groups of young men hanging around are not in any way a threat, then you can really enjoy the area. Some great bars/restaurants with a lively vibe in the evenings. The hotel itself is small but clean and comfortable. Perfect area with great transport links.

Very compact/power cut

Although the hotel wasn't in the best area it was very close to two metro stations to access the city very easily. The rooms are quite small, the toilet is practically inside a cupboard. The room only had one electrical panel which had three outlets, two of which were in use by the radio and nespresso machine. If you want to style your hair make sure your electrical devices have a long wire so you can stretch to use the mirror at the opposite end of the room. Bring your own hairdryer as the hotel one isn't very good. The room has very little storage space to unpack your suitcase so expect to keep most things packed away. The bed was comfy and although the room served its purpose it wasn't somewhere that I wanted to come back to. Lastly I was very disappointed when on my last night I arrived back at the hotel at 8.40pm to find two engineers working on the electrical panel at the main entrance. I continued onto to my room passing the reception manager on the way. When I arrived at my room the emergency lighting was on in the hallway and inside the room there was no electricity. Based on what I had seen I deducted there had been a power cut so I made use of the dimming light outside to pack my suitcase before going to bed as there was little else I could do. At midnight there was a loud bleep and then the electricity came back on. On checking out the day after there was no mention of the power cut, a simple apology for the inconvenience would have been nice.

Our Time in Paris

We found the hotel staff to be very accommodating. Upon arrival, we didn't find the first room to our liking. The front desk man happily took us around to see the other rooms and again, happily changed us to the one we preferred. This was our first stay in Paris. We found the front desk staff happy to book tours and taxis and make recommendations to us, all of which we enjoyed.

The hotel is located in a very convenient location and the room was clean but the staff was not very nice. The room didn't come with a hair dryer and we had to carry our luggage by stairs because their elevator was broken.
It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't go back given the choice.

Disappointing second stay

I had stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed the friendly staff, large rooms, pleasant decor, quiet space. This second time around, the room I was given had very dirty carpeting, quite depressing. But the worst part was that the room's only window opens on a tiny courtyard with all the hotel's ac units. So, even if the windows closed, the noise is terrible and non-stop. My room was on the fourth floor and I could not have slept with the windows open. And barely was able to sleep with the windows closed. Not ok.

As a single female late 20s traveler this hotel suited my needs. At a 50% discount it was good value for money (although at full price it would have felt rather expensive for the experience). Provided all my necessary amenities and was a comfortable and convenient location for a week in Paris. The room was relatively small with the double bed practically filling the whole space which was fine for me but would have been tight for two people, with limited space for clothes and luggage for a longer stay. However the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and reception staff spoke english (the night staff were obviously more junior and less well informed and the hotel cleaning staff only spoke french). The hotel is located in the African quarter of Paris which meant there were groups of black men milling around the streets throughout the day and well into the night but at no point did I as a single female feel threatened in any way. Extremely convenient location for the metro and walking distance to the city at a push (around 20 minutes brisk pace to the Louvre). The breakfast was rather pricey so I never tried it but was very satisfied with a pastry from a bakery down the road as well as an espresso from the machine in my room which was a very welcome treat. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Loved Paris. Loved BW Faubourg St. Martin.

Our most comfortable stay in Europe was the Best Western Faubourg Saint Martin. Friendly staff easy to communicate in most languages. Beautiful decor with a distinct ambiance and character that welcomed and refreshed our small family as we experienced Paris for first time. Clean and modern, the spaces are smallish but lends nicely to the charm...it is Europe. Must not miss their breakfast! Easy access to shops and famous stops via tube/taxi. Enjoy!

A block from a metro in fantastic neighborhood!

I had a room on the fourth floor and my friend had a room on the third floor. Mine was smaller but more than enough space for one. You can walk around the bed, which is the most comfortable bed! The room, hallways, and the lobby area are clean and smell fresh. There is an elevator. The staff is helpful and multilingual. I will definitely recommend and stay here again.

Nice hotel, bad location

Hotel was nice, very clean and accommodating, very bad location, did not feel safe walking on main street which hotel is on. 15 minute walk from gare du nord. Breakfast is not included, this is not made known until checkout. Staff was friendly and willing to help whenever needed at any time of the day.

All about the location

Bit hard to find and approach the hotel by car/taxi. Location is not bad, but this area is full of African people and shops. Station options are good and around Strasbourg Saint-Denis lots of options to eat and have coffee. Great transport connection, too from here. There is a Lidl on the way to the station - good for food shopping. The other station, Gare de l'Est is also very close by walking.

The hotel rooms are quiet with big bed. The bathroom though has no door only a sliding bamboo one. Toilet is a bit dark but with door. Painting is coming off a bit on the walls, but it does have a good, modern feeling. Could put more lights in the room and/or brighter ones. Nespresso machine was a bonus and a tissue box. Nice touch there. No English TV channels. There is air con with heating.

The staff was not very chatty, rather serious. It is a small hotel and very narrow corridors. Breakfast is overpriced and not that many option. Better to have it at a nearby coffee shop.

If I am to stay again in Paris, I would go to a different hotel and location. But for 1 or 2 nights it's OK.

Nice and modern hotel

nice hotel, good amenities for a 3*, stayed in e executive coffee machine which was excellent, though the cleanness was not the best, on arrival and on service the other day. Another thing was the aria, not the best.

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Paris. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. They were very helpful setting up an airport shuttle and a wake up call. The hotel was in a very good location close to several subway lines. The rooms were very reasonably sized and the bed was comfortable--very nice place to stay!

Nice hotel close to transport links & the sights!

The location is good, near to Gare du Nord (a flat 10 minute walk or a couple of stops on the Metro) and you can get to all the main sights from the nearby Strasbourg-Saint-Denis metro station. The hotel is pleasant, though the immediate area is a little strange; I have personally never seen so many shops right by each other selling wigs/hair pieces/weaves in my life. There are plenty of places to eat a short walk from the hotel and a Carrefour City and a Lidl nearby if you want to buy supplies.

The staff were always pleasant and helpful and spoke good English (which helps enormously when you're trying to speak French and then get horribly stuck). We arrived early so they locked our bags in the luggage room for us so we could check in later after some sightseeing.

We had room 15 which was said to be a quiet room (and it generally was save for the annoying slamming door at the bottom of the stairs to reception). The room was compact, pleasantly decorated and the window looked out into the middle of the building - so no view, but no road noise either, and we weren't in Paris to sit in the room looking out of the hotel window so this is fine. The room was small but this is normal for Paris and wasn't a problem to us. There was room for bags and a case and some hanging space. The bed was very comfortable.

The continental breakfast was plentiful though the room is quite small; we found it best to have breakfast fairly early by about 8am so we never had to wait for a table.

I would not recommend this hotel.

I did not feel safe outside after dark in this area. Much graffiti on the walls and just not very nice though I was told by the staff we were in central Paris.

Staff was only minimally helpful to me in trying to use hotel computer for printing out boarding pass.

Poor internet connection - frequent disruption. No way to regulate air conditioning - either steaming hot or freezing cold. Cleaning service entered room at 7:00 a.m. and began cleaning before noticing that I was still asleep in bed. Ceiling so low that I bumped my head several times. Elevator was blocked by room service - had to climb five flights with bags. Friendly reception - provided advice about Metro service.

This hotel is located on a walking only street. Our taxi dropped us at the end of the street where there were homeless people and their sleeping bags living in an alcove at the end of the street. We hauled our luggage to the hotel. We had booked a standard room and on check in were told it was on the fifth floor and we were to go up one at a time in the lift and take only one suitcase at a time. Once in the room we found that roof was loft style with a window in the sloping roof. We are not tall people and had to duck to get under the beams. The room itself was really only big enough for the bed, a sink, shower and toilet. We were terribly disappointed. There were better rooms in the hotel but we were not asked if we wanted an upgrade. All in all it was an awful experience. There were no amenities

Not Best Western quality

Near to Notre Dame (about 15 minutes of walk) so think this is a good place, but not, close to the centre but there are a lot of ethnics hanging on the streets and homeless too. Finally, this is not a problem, but the service... outside temperatue was cold, 14 celsius... we asked the heat mode to the air-conditioner but got no that function. So we were cold and got an answer \"here is summer, so don't need to heat....\" The hotel has a good location some steps from the Faubourg station, but that's all what I can write about the hotel. We love the Best Western chain but disappointed with this one.

Nice hotel close to metro

Don't be put off by the environment surrounding the hotel - which is sketchy. The hotel itself was great. Rooms were smallish - but it's Paris and everything is cramped - but still reasonable. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a cafe just around the corner from the hotel which is FANTASTIC - Le Petite Cafe - and the metro is only a block away. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was on the lower floor, was very noisy in the evening/night as was backing onto a passageway of some sort with restaurant with outside seating just outside our window. Room was good size. Large bathroom. Clean. If stay again will request upper floor.

Visit Paris

The hotel is a small gem in the Saint Martin district (10) of Paris. It was about five blocks from the train stations, 2 blocks to the metro and maybe a mile from Notre Dame, the Seine river. Location was good. Bistros and cafes were abundant in all directions. The neighborhood was a little seedy, but I never felt intimidated or threatened. Staff was very helpful. Overall a very good bargain as the hotel was modern and clean.

Clean and modern, this hotel was a nice place to stay. The area was a little sketchy but didn't feel unsafe. It was close to a metro station and the Paris north train station. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Clean hotel. Rooms small but with everything required. Short walk (20 mins) to the louvre and notre dame. Very close ( 2 mins) to metro. Nice cafés and theatres nearby. Friendly staff- Would stay again.

The rooms were modern and clean. The hotel service was helpful. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable of our entire trip. The Hotel is close to a Metro stop, which is nice since it's a little further away from most tourist attractions.

This hotel is tucked away in an alley off of the busy main street, but served our purposes perfectly. The room was fairly small as we've heard is typical of Paris hotels, though very comfortable. I wish we'd had more time to sleep in the bed! Our main needs were met with the hotel being conveniently located between two Metro stops and having a luggage storage room. We only stayed one night, but needed to store our bags for much of the 2nd day while we visited The Louvre and it was very easy to keep them here until we returned. The neighborhood on the main street wasn't the best, but not a concern unless you're alone.

Hotel on quiet alley

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a European adventure. We arrived early and were able to store our luggage at the hotel. Everyone was overly friendly and yes, they spoke English. The location was perfect for us; only a 10-15 minute walk to the Nord to get to and from the airport. 20-25 minute to get down to the Seine. 50 minute walk to the Eiffel tower. 50 minutes to the Catacombs. (We didn't use the Metro, only the RER to get back to CDG.) For some people the location could be considered \"sketchy\", but if you've been to any big city you would laugh off that claim as we did. If you walk over a street there is actually an awesome spot to grab sandwiches and any other cuisine you could dream of. The hotel is actually on an alley with no traffic, which is quiet at night. Rooms were smaller, but that's Paris. The finishes in the room were recently updated and were quite modern. And the bed was extremely comfy... Loved the Nespresso machine in the room and the close bread shops in the morning.

Great hotel

Great modern hotel which makes the most of the space it has. The rooms were bright, clean and creative. It is in a vibrant and part of the city with lots of cafés and restaurants near by. Also close to metro and train station.

great location, clean rooms

I enjoyed staying here, perfect location and a nice little hotel. Staff were friendly and spoke English. I was under the impression that breakfast was free but ended up paying 50 euros for 2 people for 2 days, for a breakfast that isn't that great, apart from that, great hotel.

Superb value

Clean, modern, minimalistic, yet \"homey\" feel to the rooms. Comfy Bed and good ambiance made for a great nights sleep. Close to Metro and in general walking distance to lots of the good stuff in Paris. The neighbourhood it is located in isn't great, but not as bad as some of the other reviews on this page claim. For a young couple, for a couple of nights, it is perfectly fine and walking home late at night did not feel scary or unsafe at all.

Well refurbished hotel. Modern facilities. Good centre for cheapish restaurants and handy public transport. A good 15 min walk to Gare du Nord but bus stop nearby with direct link. Area shabby; homeless people dossing down. Not the place for unaccompanied vulnerable personI in evening.Morning streets are cleaned and fresher looking. Breakfast expensive at 12 euros - lots of cheaper breakfast offers around.

Great room.. so so neighbourhood in Paris

We only stayed 1 night, as it is reasonably close to Gare Du Nord railway station. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room for Paris and thought the room design was excellent. The bed was great and the split system air-conditioning a godsend. The neighbourhood is a touch on the rough side, but if you can live with that, then this is a good choice. As a bonus the Metro stop is only 3 minutes away.

Central to the majorityt of the sights in Paris

This place was a great base, not a huge room but bigger than many other places in Paris. Clean friednly staff who spoke great English if you are unable to speak French. And we were able to keep our bags securely stored when we checked out so we could go around Paris on our last day without luggage. Will definitely book here when I next visit Paris.
