I have stayed in several hotels in this area and the price/quality ratio for this one is great. The room was not tiny (which they can be), the front desk was friendly and efficient, and everything was clean and nice.

The location of the hotel is great. However, I was not comfortable with the bed condition, sheets ( that washed but a lot of marks on) and same with towels ( discussing.
It was expensive for the value of the hotel… I was not happy

Great economy hotel. Would stay again & recommend

Convenient location to Place Republique with several metro lines and buses as well as restaurants. Felt safe at night as a solo female. Hotel room was spacious though bathroom was tiny but efficient. Bed was comfy. Had lots of much needed lighting. Appreciated the tea/coffee maker for those cold winter nights. Room was modern and clean. Would stay again.

Lovely little gem of a place

Very welcoming and supportive friendly staff!
Although the corridor to the room was very narrow, the room itself was lovely. Small room but all the space and facilities one person needs.
Super comfortable bed, very clean, bright.
Convenient location from train station (only 20min walk from Gare du Nord), and easy walk into busy/tourist areas and food outlets.
As a solo traveller I felt very safe in the hotel and surrounding area.
I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would consider staying here again if I were to visit Paris again.

Super friendly staff. Really helpful and informative. Helped me a lot when I had to store my luggage at the hotel until the evening the day I check out.

Room is small especially the toilet, but clean and can’t complain with the location (3mins walk from metro station) and the pricing.

One thing to noted, the room window is facing to the street and it might be a bit noisy in the early morning when people walked past and vehicles driving past

Overall it was a hotel with good service I felt welcome.

Pretty good location. Staff were friendly. But here are a couple major issues. The room felt like 80 degrees, in cold fall weather. The bed covers are very thick. The guests cannot control the temperature on the thermostat. I sweat through two nights of no sleep. After the first night I mentioned this to staff, who said they will happily set the desired temp. “Just call us next time” Well, at 1 am the next night , we were hot and sweating, again. I was in no mood to make an international call to set the thermostat. I was also half naked and didn’t want to dress up to go down to reception desk!
The other basic thing that was not satisfied was the broken safe. I believe this was mentioned in a prior review, also. I mentioned that to the staff *twice, and nothing was ever done.
I would sadly probably avoid this hotel in the future, since I couldn’t sleep.

This hotel is close to many restaurants and cafes and within walking distance of Gare de l’Est if you just have carryon luggage. Only negative is they give you one key card so if one person goes out with the card, you have no electricity- could have asked for a second key I guess but only stayed 2 nights.

Before reading my review, I want to level set that I understand this is not a 5 star hotel, but I'm writing this review as an expectation as a more 'budget hotel.' My review is based off what I expect from a ~175ish per night hotel.

Overall, I think the hotel is terrible. The room was advertised for 2 people, but my partner and I could barely have 1 of our carry on suit case opened (small suitcase) because of how small the rooms are. And we paid for this room >1 month ago, but still managed to get (what I think) is the worst room (first floor, in front of a busy street and in front of the elevator)...which was upsetting. When I requested for 2 extra pillows, the hotel wasn't sure if they could even accommodate this request. The AC didn't work that well...it had a 'please clean filter' warning and I couldn't adjust any settings. The bathroom window is leveled right next to the toliet...and the window faced the street...basically no privacy, I needed to make a makeshift cover. The safe didn't even work. For the hand soap, they had 2 small sample sized 'packets' only good for 2 uses (which is ridiculous). I could go on all day with complaints, but I'll stop there.

The only pro is that the staff is really nice. Besides that, I wouldn't recommend this hotel...unless you're traveling with a backpack and want to pay money live in 'prison like' environment.

Wonderful hotel.

I spent three nights here. I would not hesitate to stay again. This hotel is in a nice neighborhood and transportation is good (a Metro station is only two minutes away on foot). My biggest priority when staying somewhere is cleanliness and I encountered no issues here. The staff was cordial and helpful. Paris was in the middle of a heat wave at the time, and if I wanted the thermostat lowered in my room, the clerk at the front desk had to make the change. The one suggestion I would recommend to management is to make the hotel's wireless access secure. It required no password which made me uncomfortable using it. I had to turn on my cellular data to check email and make and receive phone calls. But, overall a great stay!

Nice place to stay. Easy walk from Gare du Nord and Gare du l'Est. Small rooms with thin walls, like all Paris hotels at this price range, and it can be a little noisy on the street down below; but that's to be expected I suppose. Clean rooms, friendly staff, in a nice neighbourhood with plenty of places to eat nearby, and it's just around the corner from Republique Metro station. I'd definitely stay again.

Great location for hotel in a bustling district with plenty of bars and restaurants. Close to metro.
Staff very friendly.
Room was compact but all that was required for a few days away. Pillows were sub optimal, didn’t ask for extras so cannot comment if this would have been rectified.

Overall a good place to stay and would definitely stay again

This hotel was PERFECT. It was walkable and had some good food options nearby. There was a bakery on the corner that was so delicious and became my daily breakfast routine. The view from the room was so pretty and even though it was a lively street the room was quiet. The room was perfectly laid out and super comfortable, it has everything we needed. The staff was also so kind and accommodating, they truly made our stay there wonderful. I highly recommend this place, I can not wait to go back to Paris and when I do this will be the place I stay at again.

L'hôtel est bien situé, tout près de la gare de l'Est, la place de la République et à environ 25 minutes à pied de la cathédrale Notre-dame. Les aires communes et les chambres sont propres et très bien entretenues. La chambre est petite mais bien éclairée et l'ameublement est récent. J'ai apprécié avoir un lit double en occupation simple. La salle de bain est petite mais moderne. Les membres du personnel sont courtois et souriants. Ils ont une approche personnalisée. Je remercie Alexandra, tout particulièrement. Le petit-déjeuner continental (parisien) est très bien : oeuf dur, yogourt, charcuterie, fromage, confiture, croissant et baguette. Je suis déjà allée dans des 3 étoiles moins bien que ce 2 étoiles. J'y retournerai, certainement!

Excellent location, walk from Gare Du Nord Station, loads of Metro station's near as well as restaurant's etc. Room clean and pretty modern, but barely bigger than the double bed, towels small and really thin/cheap. Air con only form of heating and nousy. Room cold and refused to heat higher than 19 degrees due to government legislation - never felt like it reached that temperature.

The staff was just lovely. So kind and helpful. Nice, new elevator. Room was Paris-small, but very nice for a two-star property. Breakfast was fine for the price. Location was two minutes walk from a Metro stop, and there was a City convenience store across the street. However--the room temperature was rarely comfortable. There was a notice in the room that due to an ordinance, thermostats had to be at 19, but my heat was off completely. Every day I'd have to ask to have it turned on again. I thought it was an accident; it wasn't until the end that I figured out that's exactly what was happening: they were turning it OFF every morning. Since nobody ever told me this, I didn't know what was going on. Also, the television had no signal the whole stay. I reported; never heard back. I'd still recommend the hotel overall.

Great stay for a quick trip to Paris! Close to metro and east to get around. Staff were so nice and friendly, especially reassuring as a poc. Bathroom was so nice. No peephole on the door though, and very narrow corridors. Also my socks kept on picking up hairs (that were not mine) on the floor so that was a bit 😅. Overall would go back, 7.5/10 !

Staff were excellent. Really friendly and knowledgeable about the area, helped us find a place to buy sim cards and even gave me a map of paris and pointed out good activities and the best way to get there via public transport.
The area was also pretty good--less tourist-y, and had amazing food really close (Holybelly directly across the road from the hotel was awesome, the the bakery on the corner was a highlight). The hallways are a little tight and the lift can be a bit slow but its Paris--I'm surprised they had one at all. Room was a good size had had a kettle. Bathroom was small but got the job done.
Overall really really happy with the experience and a big thank uou to the awesome staff particularly the concierge with dark hair and glasses you made our welcome to paris a friendly one.

Hotel locates near three Metro stations and two bus lines and very easy to go just about anywhere in Paris.
Room is small but clean and thoughtfully designed. However, if you are a big person, like 6 foot and over 200 lb, you may have trouble with tiny shower room.

Staff is friendly and all speaks English perfectly. Hotel faces a small quiet street with several cafes including Hollybelly that serves American style breakfast and coffee. if that is important to you. There are also several French bakeries nearby and the hotel's breakfast is great for the price. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

The standard room was quite small, even by Paris standards. The bathroom door was right next to the bed, so not much privacy. It felt a bit like an airplane bathroom. However, the room was clean and the air conditioning worked. It is a no-frills, basic hotel, but you get what you pay for. We were fine with it for a cheap couple's weekend getaway and didn't have any major issues with the room or service. Not a particularly glamorous neighborhood but not seedy either. Walking distance to Gare du Nord, Metro, Le Marais, with a Carrefour convenience store and a decent bakery and brunch options on the same street. One of the best dinners we had was within walking distance at Au P'tit Curieux.

Really small, funky room. Bathroom was so tiny that dropping the soap in the shower was a challenge. I purchased the breakfast option and paid in CDN$ before we arrived. That was a great choice as the breakfast served was amazing. There was enough food left over to take with us for lunch. The staff were wonderful, stored our bags on our last day so we could wander Paris freely. The hotel is located in a lesser known area of Paris, and there is a Metro station around the corner, so getting around Paris was easy. I would stay at this hotel again.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room is very modern (although small), with a very comfortable bed and good windows that blocked out the noise from outside. Breakfast was filling and tasty. A short walk to Republique metro from where you can access most of Paris. Some great bars and restaurants in the area too. Would stay again.

We chose a larger room for 2 people and it was fine compared to our son's which was smaller but just one person. The staff at the desk were super helpful and spoke English well. We enjoyed our stay . There are many really good restaurants with in walking distance. The Holly Berry across the street was excellent for breakfast. It was very close to the subway entrance.

Rooms are renovated and look new. A/C is very cold, so it was great to cool off after museums. The staff was very helpful when my Uber driver canceled and made sure I was able to get to Louvre.
Check-in was smooth and front desk made sure I had a map and had my bearings.
Close to underground.
Make sure you download RATP application to navigate underground so you don't get lost.

Excellent hotel in a wonderful neighborhood, near two metro stations. Friendly and smiley staff. We had the standard double room. It was not a large room (it's Paris we're talikng about) but its architecture was quite ergonomic. We could hear some noise from the street, but it didn't really bother us. Many cafes and restaurants around the area and a supermarket across the street. It's for sure that we'll visit it again.

The District Republique is within a couple minute walk to the nearest metro station, which is your primary form of transportation in Paris. My hotel room was newly renovated and modern with everything you'll need for your stay. However, the bathroom and the shower share the same space, and every time you shower, some water splashes onto the floor where the sink is (not a deal breaker though). Overall a nice stay, with the front desk available 24/7. They also speak English, which is a plus for foreign travelers!

Staff is very welcoming and happy to show tourists decent places to visit. They also speak English very well.
They are very helpful and this place is “ if you don’t ask you don’t get” sort of place. If you need/want something or are unhappy with something, say it! So they can see what they can do for you.
Rooms are very small however, they are clean and modern.
Breakfast is very basic and not worth the price if I’m honest. I would recommend going somewhere else for it.
Location is very good and close to amenities.

Room was small but clean, quiet and comfortable. Excellent location, one block from the metro and about one kilometer from Gare du Nord. A little awkward not having a nightstand (the bed was wedged between one wall and the closet, but otherwise very comfortable and we had a very nice four-day stay there. We didnt eat the breakfast, but there was a coffee/tea kettle in the room, which we used every morning. We would definitely stay there again.

Summer Paris travels

While small hotel rooms are typical in Paris, District République provides outstanding cleanliness, courteous staff, safety, and convenience to metro for attractions. Additionally, the air-conditioning allowed for extra comfort at night.

The hotel was in a cute location just north of Plaza Republique. The room was tiny--it made a cruise ship room seem spacious. But they have everything positioned to take as much advantage of the space as possible. You also have an electric kettle, which is a nice touch.
Our biggest problem was the intense smell of smoke. Every time we came into the room after being out, it would smell as though someone had just finished a cigarette in our room. We complained several times, but it never stopped. The hotel made a big deal about being non-smoking, but people were clearly smoking in the hallway or stairwell or something. They should just install real smoke alarms so that people won't smoke inside.

I had a great experience at this hotel. The hotel staff from the front desk to housekeeping were really nice and outgoing. The staff was fluent in English and went out of their way to help with directions and tips.

The room was spotless clean and appeared to have gone through a complete remodel recently.

The neighborhood is a busy location close to markets, bakeries, and restaurants. The Jacques Bonsergant metro stop is about a minute away from the hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel, it is a great spot to stay at a very reasonable price.

Great location

This was my first time staying at a 2 star hotel and it was wonderful. It had everything we needed for our short weekend stay in Paris. The front desk were extremely sweet. They always had a smile on their face whenever I spoke to them. They also provided a great breakfast with 3 different breads/pastry, jam, butter, nutella, fruit cocktail, boiled egg and yogurt.
Although the room was extremely was extremely small, my husband and I moved comfortably around it and in the restroom. Our first night was strange; our a/c wouldn't turn on and the water heater didn't work. Not sure why, but maybe they didn't turn the room on since we arrived a 2300? The second night was much more comfortable.
This hotel is also a great location, within walking distance to the main train station and a bus stop. There is also a grocery store across the street.
My only warning though is if you are a light sleeper, this hotel may not be for you (or at least if you get room 202) because it is right next door to a restaurant which is very popular in the evening.

Poor WiFi; Great Location

WiFi was a hassle my whole trip while in Paris. Throughout the city, WiFi is very sketch and aggravating, which includes the hotel.

However, the hotel is a great location with great/helpful people running it. Multiple metro stops/RER stations are within walking distance so you can get to wherever you need to go!

I did not participate in breakfast so I cannot comment on that, but there are two restaurants literally 30 feet across the street.

Nice hotel, excellent staffs

The rooms were adequately sized. The wifi was good. Proximity to a few metros was a big plus. Just a few minutes away to Canal st martin. Staffs are very helpful and always there to assist you.
