I stayed at the go2 Orchard Gloucester Hotel on 9 January 2026 as an emergency stay because nothing else was available. I deeply regret it.
The hotel condition was appalling:
· The television was held together with celotape
· The paintwork looked like it had been done by amateurs - patchy and poorly finished
· Everything felt temporary and unprofessional
· Honestly, it was the worst condition I have ever seen in a UK hotel. I was embarrassed to be there
But worse than the condition was what happened next:
I paid £8.00 for my stay and entered my registration at reception, as required. Weeks later, I received a Parking Charge Notice from Civil Enforcement Ltd claiming I had not paid.
I immediately contacted the hotel. Staff told me on 19 January they had \"applied regarding the parking ticket\" and that it was \"under process.\" I trusted them.
During February, Civil Enforcement's own website showed \"PCN not found\" when I tried to view the ticket. I have dated screenshots proving this. But after the 28-day appeal window expired, the ticket suddenly reappeared. I can no longer appeal.
The hotel has the power to cancel this immediately. They are the landowner. Instead, they have made excuses and failed to act.
Verdict: A rundown hotel that doesn't care about its guests and uses a predatory parking company to harass them after they've already paid. Avoid at all costs.

The hotel and room where so dirty and falling apart we where unable to stay the night. I have never seen such an unclean hotel with broken furniture all over the place. I did feel sorry for the staff running it as they generally tried very hard. There was also a discrepancy over the cost of parking and a £20 charge for a dog, of which it doesn’t state when booking, this I feel is as outrageous.

Wasn’t given the bigger room I was promised while booking (in order to have space for a pram & travel cot due to having a baby with us) the room we were given was in horrendous condition - paint chipped and peeling everywhere, bathroom door didn’t stay closed and was also covered in dents/holes, room smelled disgusting, window wouldn’t close properly so it was cold all night. Night staff came to the room to attempt to help make space for the travel cot and then would not leave for over 20 mins despite repeatedly being told by 2 of us that we were fine. Staff in the morning on check out was very rude. We booked 2 nights but only stayed one because we were so disappointed!!

There was a big dent in the bathroom door and the bathroom was not very clean….the toilet seat was yellow,the sinks silicone was dirty,there was no plug. The shower needed a good bleaching and clean. I am writing this review to formally advise people not to stay at Orchard hotel, the experience was far below the standards I expected and caused significant disruption and distress.
During the night, my husband and I were woken by police knocking on our door, (number 34) looking for an individual who did not reside in our room. They also disturbed other guests in the same manner. This was an extremely unsettling experience which left us unable to sleep for the rest of the night. When my husband spoke to the manager (Amid)the following day, the response was dismissive and unapologetic, with the suggestion that we should have gone downstairs to request another room. This did not address the issue at all and felt unprofessional.
In addition, the room itself was in very poor condition. There were scratches, dents, and holes in the walls, and the overall state of the accommodation was outdated and uncomfortably hot. These conditions were not reflective of what was advertised.
When we later contacted the hotel to request a refund or partial refund, this was refused. The staff we spoke to were rude, dismissive, and made unprofessional remarks, implying that the hotel could not simply give refunds to “everyone who complained.” I found this attitude unacceptable and not in line with the standards of hospitality.

This room is NOT as described in the literature and the photos I saw before booking, were very clearly NOT taken in this particular hotel. I cannot believe that the many highly positive reviews I read online were genuine, as this establishment lived up to none of the glowing descriptions I’ve read.
The room is foul smelling and filthy - I can’t imagine the carpet has been vacuumed any time in the recent past. The beds are poorly sprung and are clearly well past their reasonable working life.
As if by magic (it’s 01:05 on Sunday morning just now), 2 fire engines, the police and an ambulance have all just arrived at the hotel and are parked outside our window, engines running and with people shouting and milling about outside - I dare not imagine what is happening elsewhere in the hotel….

Lovely welcome from the guy in reception. He was very polite and friendly. Room was a good size with nice sized en-suite. Room was generally clean apart from a few dirty marks on the wall. Bathroom was clean apart from previous guest had left their shower gel on top of the shower which had obviously been missed by the cleaners. TV large and connected to WiFi so could watch Netflix etc. Decided to stay an extra night as it was definitely good value for money at £50

Charged £8 to park on arrival.The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful.On entering our room there were no side tables for the bed, the Ariel to the telly was missing making it unusable, the only other furniture was a chest of drawers which was broken and not fit for purpose.

A little below par but a bed for the night and that’s about it. My room curtain didn’t cover the whole window. The bathroom had marks on the wall. I couldn’t adjust the shower temperature and the kettle lead didn’t reach any socket. Socket placement was odd with a double socket right behind the bed pillow. This hotel is 2 miles from the city, but there is a bus stop nearby.

Cheap hotel which was okay for a couple nights stay. Room could have been cleaner, there are squished bugs on the walls and the carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered. The postcode for the property takes you to a dead end in the industrial park. There is no free parking included with the hotel. On Arrival the rooms hadn’t be cleaned, use tea mugs, dirty toilet and untidy floor. We mentioned this on our way back out after dropping our things off they came and sorted it out whilst we was out. The actual bed itself you can feel the springs. The rooms could do with another paint job and a curtain that fills the whole size of the window and also checking batteries in the tv remotes. Very bog standard hotel which felt more like a shelter or hostel

The smell of cannabis made me and my daughter feel sick we popped to shops and for something to eat when we came back the blue badge space we used as I have a blue badge had a car in it being fixed up when I asked to park was told it was tuff they were busy didn’t enjoy stay over at all
