We had an amazing weekend getaway! The staff were lovely, welcoming, and very approachable throughout our stay. When we first arrived at our room, there was a small issue with the loo, but the management team handled it brilliantly and kindly upgraded us to another room for the night while it was fixed. Both rooms we stayed in were beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. We also loved spending time at the spa. It was the perfect way to relax during our stay. A big thank you to the whole team for helping make our weekend so lovely!

Our stay was lovely. Such lovely friendly staff.
Main areas very good. We enjoyed the spa. can, get a bit busy! Some guests left old towels on the beds when they left blocking beds.
All areas clean but for need staff to check and clean water from the pool area.
The rooms were clean and comfortable but a bit tired.
Lovely coffee machine and plenty of pods and tea etc
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

The staff were lovely and the building is beautiful.
However our room was small, overlooking a flat roof with the noisy kitchen extractor fans blowing smelly air from early in the morning to late at night.
The bottles of shampoo and conditioner that were attached to the wall just squired a pea size liquid on each pump which was frustrating.
For what it is I felt it was overpriced

I am not usually one to write reviews, but my recent stay at Hatherly Manor in Gloucester compelled me to make an exception.

Our entire wedding experience was exceptional, thanks in large part the event manger , Gayle. She transformed our worries into confidence, handling every request as if with a magic wand—all done gracefully, with a constant smile and great sense of humor. Every one of our guests had something wonderful to say about Gayle and her team.

Lovely hotel. Very nice, clean and comfortable room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Spa was nice and simple but got busy after check-in time. Food in restaurant was delicious and service was great. Communication was amazing - had questions before our stay and was answered in quick time and kept in touch about private events going on. There were two events on when we stayed, a wedding and charity event, but did not disrupt our stay. A nice relaxing time was what we wanted and we definitely got that.

We had a really pleasant stay overall. The room was clean and comfortable, and although we experienced a couple of minor issues, the staff resolved them immediately. Everyone was friendly, professional, and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options, and the spa facilities were lovely.

The only downside was the soundproofing. We stayed for two nights in an executive room. The first night was quiet, but on the second night our neighbours were quite noisy, and we could hear almost everything from the next room, which kept us awake. If you’re a light sleeper, it may be worth booking one of the luxury rooms instead, as apparently they offer better sound insulation.

We stayed in room 217. Bed needs replacing as well used. It was risen at the bottom & had dips in middle. This resulted in a very poor night's sleep for me & my wife. I did mention this to receptionist in morning while checking out.

The room next door was noisy you can hear them and whenever they used the bathroom so sleep was poor. Never informed about breakfast , which was poor there were used footware in the wardrobe

Overall, our stay was average. My wife and I stayed for three days to celebrate our anniversary. Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected our experience. The bathtub drain was extremely slow and did not drain properly. There was also a heating issue in the room. it did not work during our entire stay. We informed the staff and were told it was working fine, and although we requested a repair, no one came to fix it, so we stayed without heating for all three days. Additionally, the pillows were very flat and uncomfortable, which made sleeping difficult.

Overall excellent value for money. Good breakfast and the staff were really friendly. Slightly odd smell in some of the downstairs corridors - a bit like damp? The facilities were really good, loved the spa and the gym. Beautiful property. Lots of parking. Slightly confusing information on Expedia when booking re spa access as it conflicts with some of the information on the website but wasn't a problem on arrival at the hotel. The room had a smell to it when we first arrived- there was a courtyard which the window opened on to so possible that people go out here to smoke and the window had been left open. Took a good few hours for smell to leave.

You only get 1 hour in the spa and have to pay for the dressing gowns as not provide- probably best to advise people of this at reception or when booking. Had to go back to reception after checking in to clarify as given no information when checking in.

The building is absolutely stunning, especially lit up with Christmas lights. Every staff member was incredibly polite, even the boy mopping the floors was happy to answer questions. The room was clean and spacious, the views were great. The breakfast was good quality. The only negative comment I had was that the coffee is not good. Stick to the juices for breakfast!

On a couples weekend, put us in a room right outside the door of a function. Manager apologised and said he would issue a partial refund. Nothing received, no follow up communication despite me chasing.

Check in was easy, bar the fact they never stated any details about breakfast. Monday breakfast finished at 9am!!!! So turning up at 9:15 we had to eat was left out still.
The hotel needed a good clean and a lick of paint.
We stayed in a superior room which was spacious but there was a smell of drains when you opened the room, which can only assume was from the bathroom.
The spa facilities were nice even though basic & was flexible with when you could use them.
For the price of a room & the inclusion of the spa id say it was reasonable but room for improvement

A little disappointed really with what I expected from a 4 star hotel. The rooms were very basic and small. The first room didn’t appear very clean with paint falling of the walls and a tiny cupboard with a plastic foldable door across it, which was half hanging off. We asked to move and the staff were great with that. The second room was better, cleaner, but still fairly small.

The spa area also was small and I didn’t feel relaxed at all around the swimming pool and sauna/steam room areas. Too many people in such a small space and there were only approx 15 people in there. Disappointed overall while we were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary.

Perfect stay from start to finish! Check in the receptionist was lovely very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious.
We used the spa facilities both days on our stay, the pool area is lovely, everything was really clean, your able to relax with drinks from the bar, we had massages and they were lovely! Breakfast was perfect, there was continental and a choice from the kitchen to order, staff were amazing very attentive, and there was no waiting time. Once again very clean and helpful! Would highly recommend this Hotel and would definitely travel back here again.

The spa was great! Very impressed. Everything else was fine, but comparatively there was no real wow factor. It was all pretty basic - probably expect more for a stay like that. I.e. gardens to explore, outdoor activities, indoor activities (games room, cinema, more lounge areas spread throughout). A bit cheeky to charge extra for selected breakfasts if it’s meant to be included in the stay as well. But overall okay!

The room was nice, had all the amenities including hairdryer, iron & plenty of hot drink options. The walls are very thin, I could hear whole conversations from the room next door. Bathroom was ok, the bath & shower curtain had various hairs around it. Breakfast options were good but they have some that are free (bacon sandwich/ two eggs with toast /others), but then they charge £3 for just avocado on a single piece of toast & £5 for the same but to add an egg or salmon, which doesn’t really make sense to me. The staff were all lovely & the spa is good, I recommended booking the classic spa day morning so you get to use the spa, have a massage etc & get lunch. The only negative for the spa is the cost of drinks, they’re changing £4.50-£6 for soft drinks. Very out of the way in the country so no shops near by, they have a restaurant on site for dinner and there a a couple places that deliver like pizza kebab etc. Overall it was ok, I wouldn’t stay again because of the thin walls & the breakfast.

The hotel contains a hotel, spa and function room/wedding facilities. It is located near enough to Cheltenham and Gloucester which makes it perfect to see everything the Cotswolds has to offer.

The room we stayed in was comparable to a travel lodge room, the bedroom space was nice, however the bathroom seemed rather tired and not quite what you would expect from a 4 star hotel (peeling paint, cracked sealant, old bath with shower which was not the easiest to get in and out of).

The spa was equipped with the facilities you would expect, however the staff did not explain the venue on our first visit and even forgot to give us towels. There was no attempt to offer the paid for services.

The restaurant was a nice room and well equipped for breakfast and dinner. Again it was it hit and miss in terms of the guidance around breakfast and what was available. Breakfast included a good range of items with the option to upgrade to additional items for a small cost. The pancake upgrade with fruit consisted of a few blueberries which was a bit disappointing.
In terms of dinner it was disappointing that one of the 2 vegetarian options was sold out when we went to dinner which left my wife with only one choice. Food was well presented and tasty.

The bar was well stocked but appeared to operate on a more of a London level pricing structure.

A good well located hotel, just needs some updating to the rooms and consistency in terms of the service.

Very nice spa. Lovely staff. The bathroom strongly smelled of bleach on arrival and the following day of damp. Food okay, perhaps trying too hard. Dog friendly only in that your dog can stay in your room- No bowl or bedding and not allowed into restaurant- so not truly dog friendly in my opinion.

The rooms were stuffy and hot, you could open the window but we was on the ground floor with a very bright flood light directly above. You couldn’t keep the huge curtains open to let any air in coz there was people constantly walking past the windows late into the night or early hours of the morning. The spa was very limited, you couldn’t have any treatments unless you booked in advance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were quite clean but the bathrooms needed a good clean around the shower as it had the red bacteria around the tile grout. We found the food menu very limited as I’m gluten intolerant and was only really offered GF toast at breakfast. The dinner menu was not to our taste. For what we paid for this weekend away at this hotel, it definitely was not worth the money spent.
