Most unusual area. I didnt feel comfortable to go out at night. Met three street kids whom did not know where New Zealand & Australia was. When a van of men cruised by us they had to go. Inside the very old refurbished building was very presentable especially the new modern kitchen and diningareas. My basement room ok just the small floor area very dirty and black mould in the corners of the shower.

This was perfect for a last minute stay in Gloucester. Walking distance to the Quays. One minute from the park. Tea and coffee in the room plus a good selection for breakfast. The dining area was super modern and clean and the garden was a nice touch. Plus free parking right outside was a bonus

Basic and clean accomodation. Good location for Gloucester Quays.
Tea amd coffee making facilities in bedroom. Free wifi. Only downside is door entry system (no key) and my phone was on very limited battery life by end of our night out so was worried about it dying and not being able to locate the door code information.

Positives-Comfortable bed, warm room, nice coffee, nice hot water.
Negatives- Long black hair in my bed, WiFi did not work therefore TV did not work as it wasn’t connected to WiFi ( I had a book anyway), noisy guests in other rooms kept waking me up throughout the night.
However, enjoyed my stay for the price I paid.

The property was good, I initially found it difficult having access to the room because the hash key wasn't visible on the access machine at the door. The TV couldn't turn on and no staff to complain to. It is good running self access service but at least one staff could be around to render help or leave a phone number. Cheers

Advantages; ample parking. Good value. Short walk to the Quays where the new/modern restaurants are. One mile to the cathedral. There are nearby supermarkets. Downsides: thin walls: you hear your neighbors. The bed is a cheap, noisy metal thing. The common area/kitchen is subject to the behaviors of your neighbors. During my stay, they proved themselves to be total slobs.

Do not book this grotty place!

The City Centre Guest House is refusing to refund me even though I didn’t sleep there, I couldn’t, the place was disgusting. The worst thing was I felt the mattress and could feel the springs, nobody should be expected to put up with paying for that! The kettle was dirty, the hanging rail wobbly. There were no staff there, self check-in and nobody answering the phone. Utterly despicable so I left, very upset about the whole experience. I didn’t take photos as the mattress was zipped inside a bag.

You [Expedia] told me to expect a welcome gift: there was none. The property was clean and the decor tasteful. I booked 3 nights B&B but there was no scheduled times for a cooked breakfast: on Sat morning i found it was DIY, cereal, apple juice and toast and on Sun morning no apple juice! This accommodation might be okay for students during term time but not for tourists on a weekend away!

Room 01 is a basement room. The damp smell hits you before opening the door to the room. The tiles on the bathroom have lifted, and stagnant water can be seen coming through gaps in the tiles as you walk over them. There is rising damp on the bathroom walls. Cold tap on sink didn't work. Bed was a makeshift folding metal camp bed.
Bedding and towels were damp to the touch. I genuinely would have walked away had I had any other option. Room was very small and narrow. Genuinely couldn't wait to leave.

The web said we booked a Queen size bed and the reality was a small double bed. You could hear absolutely everything that moved in the house. People above started walking around from 5 am so couldn’t sleep since then. Small bathroom was clean but sink was outside in the room not in the bathroom just next to the main door and the towel handle was place the other side of the door. Awful.

Not a great stay I’m afraid. The shower still retained hair from previous booking and the bed was very uncomfortable.
Most disappointing of all was the fact that I made several attempts to contact the hotel/duty manager to try to move rooms and despite calling/emailing the property I have not received any correspondence or reply.
I know it was relatively cheap but I would still expect to be comfortable and experience a positive customer service interaction. I didn’t achieve either.

Had an overnight stay to catch up with friends in the area. Whilst the room was great, the absence of breakfast impacted badly on my stay. A wonderful dining area was spoilt by the lack of food for breakfast. There was just about enough milk to make a cup of tea. Plenty of cereal around but no milk. No bread for toast but you have to admire the redundant toaster as it has ornamental value. Suppose it saves on hiring someone to clean up!! Had to buy breakfast on my way home which was an unexpected and disappointing surcharge, which took the gloss off my stay. Lesson learnt.

It's a quaint old Georgian building with all rooms converted to en-suite. Not 5-star luxury, but perfectly comfortable.
There's a guest kitchen with 24-hour access to breakfast materials -- cereal, fruit juice, bread, jam, and yogurt.

The city lodge guest house is easy access to the quays, docks and town. Help yourself breakfast was good with fresh juice, toast jams etc, and a good choice of cereals and yogurts. We had a room with 3 single beds, one of the beds was a little uncomfortable but can’t fault the room. Had a tv, en-suite with shower and clean towels. There’s tea and coffee facilities in the room too. Parking was on the drive of the guest house with additional easy parking outside on the road or in parking bays. Overall a good experience for the price. Would certainly return again

A good budget hotel.

The host was very helpful on arrival and showed me into a small but comfortable room at the back. It proved to be quiet and the double bed was comfortable. The shower was powerful and as hot as you could want it. The breakfast was ok and one day there was a nice brown loaf. It was useful to have dedicated parking.

When arrived no one was even there i thought this man that was asking if i was staying there was the b&b owner but wasn't only found that out after him giving me the keys. Litterally felt like i was treading on egg shells i wont be staying there again. Felt on edge cause when he did turn up we was told to be quite basically had to whisper. But night time came and everyone was running up and down the stairs barring in mind thats more noise than talking. The only good thing was the breakfast and the room. I certainly wont be returning after my experience

New city break for old friends to enjoy

Arrived at the venue in good time and greeted by the manager. Shown were the facilities are and our room. Clean and tidy. Although the TV could have been a little larger for the room but not essential. Used tea and coffee which wasn't replaced but you did have access to the kitchen which I used to get more tea. The only thing I would gripe about would be the loft ladder/hatch was open all night, this could potentially be a health and safety issue; just needs some form of prtention on it or yellow tape. Otherwise the accommodation was more than I expected and very close to the amenities of the town and love the parks too. Greek restaurant on the quay in the docks is fantastic and The Tank too, lovely food and craft beers respectfully. Will return.
