Korona Hotel can be summed up in one word: confusing.

The hotel’s star rating is inconsistent throughout the building. The lobby states it’s a four-star hotel, yet on the same floor there are both three-star and four-star banners posted in the hallway. It’s completely unclear what qualifies as a three- versus four-star room.

We requested a specific Christmas market–view room months in advance and followed up multiple times with no response. At check-in, we were shown a different room and told we would need to pay extra to get the room we had originally booked. We paid the upgrade for our three-night stay.

As Expedia VIP guests, we received drink vouchers for the hotel bar, but the bar was only open the first night and closed for the remainder of our stay. No alternative or apology was offered. The front desk experience overall was tense and impersonal.

Even after paying for the so-called four-star upgrade, amenities were extremely basic—only a bar of soap and shampoo, no slippers—nowhere near four-star standards.

The location is excellent, directly facing the Christmas market with many great restaurants nearby. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. Poor communication, inconsistent standards, and unclear room classifications make it very difficult to justify this hotel as a true four-star property.

I spent three nights and I enjoyed it very much. The location cannot be better. It’s around the corner from the old city hall, and Maria Magdalene church where you can climb on top of the Tower, a short walk to Wroclaw University, Ostrów Tumski. Main train station is also an easy 15-20 minutes walk. View from the hotel is nice.

The staff were very good and a positive for the hotel and responded to all requests. However, the hotel was not sound proofed and the noise from outside kept us awake, which was a shame. There was no other room available without paying an upgrade even though the hotel room was supposed to be soundproofed. We requested extra quilts but this could not be provided because housekeeping was off site we were eventually given a sheet not the requested quilt next day which was then removed by room service the next day.

Great location which is easy to get to from the airport on the 106 bus.
Spotlessly clean rooms, huge ceilings that make the rooms feel bigger, great shower with quality shower gel and handwash.
Aircon that worked well which was good as a lot of hotels don't have working aircon unless it's in the summer months.
Good breakfast choices though the hot food wasn't hot, just lukewarm.
Received voucher for welcome drink, though didn't use it as ordered before we checked what was on the list of free drinks.
Staff that we met were all so helpful, had email from the hotel before our stay to check details with us.
If we returned to Wroclaw we'd definitely 100% stay here again.

I always like staying in and around the old town square when i am traveling in Europe, and this hotel is perfectly situated to take advantage of all the dining and sightseeing options within the old town square. The room was spacious, big comfortable bed and room enough for a smaller sitting area. The hotel provided breakfast was wonderful, and provided a wide variety of hot and cold options to suit both children and adults

Brilliant hotel, excellent location, fantastic staff. I've stayed in many hotels in Poland from Krakow, Oświęcim, Zakopane, Rzeszów and so on but this was hands down the cleanest and most comfortable.
Wrocław was a real treat, it's not awfully far to Ksiaz Zamek castle and the German tunnel complex at osowka.

Excellent location in the market square, close to lots of restaurants and attractions. The hotel bar never seemed to be open and was unable to use welcome drinks voucher. Saturday night it was supposed to open till midnight, we went at 11pm and it was closed. Coffee and milk in the room was not replaced. The bed creaked every time you moved which kept me awake - Overall not bad but could make some small improvements which would make a big difference.

This hotel is centrally located near the market, loads of restaurants and attractions nearby. Rooms were spacious and it was spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed it. Just to note that the bar is closed on Sundays and Mondays, not an issue for us but may be a consideration.

This hotel is at an excellent location in the Old Market area, and the room we had for one night was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent too, hearty and tasty. And what really made it great was the service! Because of mechanical problems my train was delayed for 11 hours. Rather than leave my friend in the lobby, the lady at the front desk let him stay in the room I rented. And when I arrived at 2 AM she was downstairs and ready to check me in! What could have been a terrible night turned into an excellent welcome with terrific customer care. I would recommend this hotel every day.

Great price/comfort ratio, central, a little loud

The hotel is located literally in the city center, opposite the majestic old town hall. It is surrounded by a bustling market square with eateries, bars and market stalls. Public transport brings you close by, however the area is pedestrian.

Checkin was fast and nice with lovely and correct staff. The room did not have a view (there’s an inner courtyard that’s closed for storage). However it was new, large, bright and very comfortable.

Amenities included TV, (empty) fridge, desk, hairdryer, toiletries, blackout curtains.

Breakfast was good, in the hotel’s dedicated restaurant. Buffet included sandwich options, some basic hot items (eggs, bacon) but not much sweet. Coffee, tea was from machines while juices were machine but also house-made.

The one qualm I have is with the soundproofing. The market square gets super-loud at night and even a room such as mine with no direct access to the square was quite loud, what to think of the outside rooms?

The bed comfort compensates somewhat but for those easy sleepers out there it’s important to note.

I for one would return: the price/comfort point and convenience of everything being near are hard to beat.

Ideal location, in ped area w sites within easy walking distance. Restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, shopping all convenient. Great sized room, very firm mattress. Train station is short, easy walk. Friendly, helpful staff. Not the best breakfast buffet, poor setup. No decaf coffee or herbal tea served/available. I’m a decaf drinker so was glad to have a Starbucks across the street.

Good location on market square. Booked over another hotel based on reading restaurant and bar but there was only breakfast restaurant available which was disappointing .
Booked deluxe room and was very spacious and luckily was ready when we arrived early . Reception staff all polite and had good English. Would stay again especially for Christmas markets as perfect location.

Very nice hotel, right next to the Market Square. Could not be more convenient, really in the centre of things. Warm and clean with everything you need. Just make sure to contact the hotel in advance if you have any special requirements or if you have any extras on your booking. We received none of our supposed added extras and front desk staff were ambivalent.

It has everything you could want including amazing views of the old town from the room windows, a location perfect for everything in the city and a very high quality/luxury feel.
