Nik was great at getting back to me quickly about any questions I had. The room was very clean, you get access to a beach club across the street and the Loco restaurant had delicious food. Would easily stay here again.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Casa Coyote. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches throughout. There was plenty of hot water in the shower, and the honey-scented bath products were a lovely bonus.
Just outside our room, we were surrounded by untouched jungle—an incredible setting where we spotted colorful birds and even a wild coati. Having access to a secure, guarded parking area for our rental car, along with beach access at a neighboring resort, truly elevated the experience.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and responsive, always quick to assist with any questions we had. We’re already looking forward to returning—and next time, bringing friends along with us!

The biggest issue was safety and connectivity. There was essentially no Wi-Fi and almost no cellular reception, making it extremely difficult — and honestly concerning — to contact anyone, get directions, or access help when needed. For a property marketed at a higher standard, this alone is unacceptable.
The room itself was far from a four-star experience: musty odor, poor lighting, weak air conditioning, geckos inside the room, and an awkward bathroom layout where my legs hit the shower wall while sitting on the toilet. While housekeeping did keep the room clean, the overall comfort level was extremely low.
Sleep was impossible. There was constant loud music thumping all night and into the morning, plus a recurring buzzing noise every few minutes that sounded like a dryer alarm going off. None of us in our group slept properly during the entire stay.
After raising these issues, the property manager acknowledged the problems and offered a partial refund. However, after multiple attempts to follow up, he stopped responding, blamed the reservations department, and would not connect me with them or a supervisor. Ultimately no resolution was provided by the hotel. Expedia tried to resolve with no luck.
Bottom line, there are countless better places to stay in Tulum. If you are expecting a comfortable four-star experience, look anywhere else.

The whole experience was seamless from beginning to end. Ivo was friendly, responsive and always helpful when needed. There is 24 hour security so I felt very safe as a solo traveler. Can’t wait to return! I definitely will be back and would highly recommend Casa Coyote.

I love my stay at Casa Coyote! Nicco and his staff were extremely helpful. They allowed me to change my room because I didn't like the view from the patio of my first room. For the price, Casa Coyote is excellent. The decorations in the room and throughout the property are very cute. I like the candles lighting the walkway in the evening. They add a special touch to the place. I really like having a patio with the view of the garden. Ask for this if you can. I also like the communal kitchen. I was able to make myself tea and store perishable items in the fridge during my stay. I didn't use the pools because to me, the beach is so much better.
The easy beach access through Dos Ceibas is superb. It cannot be beat! I love every minute at the beach. It's close enough to the hotel that I felt comfortable leaving my things at the beach to come back to the hotel if I forgot anything. The food and staff at Dos Ceibas are also very good. I prefer eating at this restaurant because of the food quality and the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. Book it and you won't regret it.

It was my first time going to an eco-hotel so I did not know what to expect but it was a pretty cool experience. Even though the AC automatically turns off from 12pm-5pm, the concrete walls and ceiling fan helped keep the room cool which was essential for getting ready for a wedding.

This place is very dirty and very small inside. It’s for someone who is not use to luxury or nice resorts. More for students. I arrived to this hotel and prefered to loose my money than to stay here. Expedia and the hotel wouldn’t refund us so we lost all our money.

Ivo (the hotel manager on the ground) and his team have done a fantastic job of creating a clean yet jungle-feely spot in the best location of Tulum. The hotel has a partnership with 2 nearby beachfront hotels so you can access their private beaches freely, literally a 2-min walk and you’re on the beach. Definitely staying here again next time.

I was there during the time of Hurricane Beryl. Ivo was very accommodating. When the hurricane was approaching, he kept us informed on how to prepare for the storm, as well as changing our rooms to make us more comfortable. Ivo was very welcoming and patient, as I shared I was worried about the storm. Nicolas was also helpful. Helping us to navigate the property and surrounding area. The property was serene and provided a quiet and peaceful experience. The restaurant in front provided some of the best food on the strip. I would definitely go back.

We absolutely loved our stay! The room was very cozy with a jungle vibe. The rooftop pool and hangout area was amazing and we mostly had it all to ourselves! Close to a taco place, breakfast/coffee, and a smoothie bowl bar. Nico took very good care of us and made sure we were comfortable, gave us information on how to access the beach and restaurant recommendations. He’s very responsive over the phone and lovely to talk to! The security boys were also very sweet and we felt totally safe the entire time we were there.

My stay at Casa Coyote was wonderful. Evo the concierge was super helpful and attentive. Very clean rooms and safe atmosphere. You get the full Tulum experience as the hotel is located on the jungle side of the road while having full beach access just across the street. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay. Wonderful customer service, great location, safe and one of the best restaurants in the front of property, Loco Tulum. I would give it a 5 star but we had a front casita and the music was loud from the restaurant. Not a big deal but we older and go to bed early. The sink and shower had salty water. But they told us about it and they provided clean water to drink and use to brush our teeth:) You also are given complimentary access to a beach club. Great value for the cost. Across the street hotels are around $500 a night.

Place surprised me for the price, my only concern was that we were on the top room, you can see everything from the window BUT the people on the other side too! Maybe cover the windows so it’s not visible. Other than that, loved this place for the price!

I had a fantastic time here, and the room was really beautifully decorated. It didn't have much light, but it made for a great ambiance with the full lush garden view in the window. Having AC was excellent. The shared kitchen was also really useful. The Loco restaurant was the best I had in all of Tulum. My only issue was that on the first night or two there was a strong sewage smell (I imagine from the septic tank) around the room so I had to leave windows closed. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was a bit unpleasant. Still 5 stars tho, loved my time there.

We loved our stay in the property. Very boho vibe. Only thing was the hot water in the shower is never in sync it’s either boiling hot or cold water. But because it’s warm in Tulum cold water shower worked out okay. One min walk to the beach with water like you are bathing just used to make our day. Really good tasting food in the Loco , but very very expensive. But it’s the same everywhere in Tulum in the Hotel zone. Staff were really friendly and made our stay very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

Casa coyote is a very clean hotel and with comfortable beds. Big bathroom. AC works. The door broke when I was there and it was fixed immediately. They have a restaurant that has a good menu and live music as well on Sunday nite. The music is great. In general, it is closed to the beach and other hotels and restaurants and some boutique shopping stores. One caveat tho, everything in the hotel zone is quite expensive! Service charge in restaurants of abt 12-15% is already added to your bill. Everywhere you go food prices in restaurants are almost similar and very expensive. It’s like going to siesta key in Florida! I should say, the food is savory! Wait staff is friendly anywhere.

This is an absolutely nice place to stay while you explore Tulum. Spacious and well decorated rooms with all you need for a pleasant stay. Very responsive staff. A rooftop where you can swim in the pool and see the most beautiful sunsets in Tulum. Few steps from the beach, literally 1 min walking. And so many options around. Their restaurant Loco Tulum has amazing food. I will definitely recommend it.

Everything about our stay was phenomenal at Casa Coyote. From the moment we arrived to our departure. Ivo welcomed us and took us to our room and took the time to explain what to expect with our stay. The breakfast, which is included with the stay, was delicious! A veggie omelet never tasted so good. I seriously can’t believe how anyone could ever come on here to complain about this place. You are staying in the jungle, not the Hilton. You have an amazing view to the jungle, a rooftop terrace to view sunsets and the room smells amazing. This eco friendly hotel is amazing. Ignore all the negative reviews, complainers will always be complainers. The location of Casa Coyote is great. Not beach front but have you access to the beach. Amazing stay.

The electricity turned off for 24hrs. The room smelled like sewer and was told "that's just what happens". AC didn't work for 3 days of 7 days being there. Linens were damp when given to us. Host/Manager stopped responding after our calls/texts 2nd day there. No one offered to compensate for the lack of amenities. The WIFI stopped working after day 2. It was advertised that I'd have sufficient WIF to get some work done. I had to go to another location in town to get WIFI. My friend hit her leg on the cement bed and had a huge lump because there was no light to see where she was going. We had to grab candles from around the property to light our way around our room and property. The pool was dirty and cloudy. Stayed awake for most of the nights because it was so hot and uncomfortable without the AC. The lack of care from the Host/Managers was disgusting. You're better off sleeping on the streets of Tulum than staying here.

The staff was so accomodating and goes above and beyond. We went during off peak season so it was quieter but would definitely recommend staying here.

One of the major inconveniences about this hotel is that electricity goes out between 3:00-5:00 p.m. everyday. This is not the case for other hotels (e.g. Nest across the street). This definitely needs to be sorted out by management.

We also believe we got bed bugs here because we came home with bumps and itching all over and they were NOT regular mosquitoe bites. I loved the whole jungle vibes. My room was located at the very end on top and it was amazing. The location and views were beautiful. The water is salt water so I just recommend brushing your teeth with a water bottle. The AC and power work only in the morning and night, which is not a problem at all, since your not in the room in the middle of the day.

We recently stayed at Casa Coyote to celebrate our anniversary. The room is quite unique. You truly are in the jungle. Loved our rooftop lounge. Loved the vibe. The restaurant attached in good. The first night, we were greeted with a free shot of tequila and a free dessert since we mentioned it was our anniversary. Staff was very friendly.

Okay so my girlfriend and I read all the reviews before we chose casa coyote. Not going to lie we were a bit skeptical but it turned out to be perfect! This hotel is in a quieter part of the hotel zone of Tulum (where all the fun and restaurants are) but still close, which was perfect for sleeping! Comfy beds beautiful minimalistic rooms that are like a treehouse in the jungle on the outside and on the rooftop balconies. Another surprise was the hotel restaurant Loco Tulum..... amazing! We ate at some of the most expensive restaurants in tulum and it’s was one of our favorites! Can’t wait to go back!

I enjoyed my stay here! We booked a six day trip to tulum, the place is nice & safe. The cleaning people come in and make your bed daily. If your looking for a place to stay, casa coyote is perfect but be aware it is the last hotel at the end of the strip, so getting a taxi daily will add up. If you plan to hang out just in the zone then it’s great. We rented bikes & a scooter to get around quicker bc we wanted to get out of the area and explore more the downtown of tulum. That’s where you will find authentic Mexican food and can do shopping. So we we were gone most of the day and would just come back to the hotel to sleep. The bed was comfy & check in & check out was smooth! Btw, they greet you with tequila shots! What’s greater than that?! The restaurant loco tulum on site & great too !

Loved the concept, decor & vibes of Casa Coyote; the rooms (I stayed in Casa Xaman) were minimal with great Tulum/Mayan decor. The smell of sewage was very strong unfortunately; however, there are pockets of very strong sewage smell all over Tulum! For some reason, their running water was salty (I used bottled water for my face & mouth). Daily housekeeping is available but they do not offer anymore clean towels or sheets (other than 2 complimentary ones upon check-in). Casa Coyote & Casa Xaman do not have a main entrance; they are built behind existing housing, which wasn’t a problem for us at all; it somewhat felt safer. Beach access is through Dos Ceibas which is sooo nice and calm; it’s only a 2 minute walk from Casa Coyote. The guest pools are saltwater but honestly, they don’t look clean enough to swim in. Overall, it’s a nice affordable spot with very nice decor. I would definitely stay there again.

The good: It's located across from the beach on the jungle side of the main strip. I enjoyed that it's a little South of the noisier area yet still close to everything. Service was friendly.
The bad: I booked a 539 SF room and was not provided what I paid for. Instead, I received a very small room with less than half the advertised space and no balcony. Had I visited with a partner, it would've been a disaster (and embarrassing). Keep in mind I booked the room 2 months in advance. The description of the room also stated there would be an ironing board and other items which were not present in the room. There is no front desk on site (the hotel is located behind a restaurant) so all communication with the manager is done using WhatsApp. When I reached out to the manager (Dani) he said there was nothing he could do, although I know there were other rooms available in the compound since I toured the properties located in the same grounds with a staff member and he mentioned they were not at full capacity. Get ready for a different environment when you arrive in Tulum all together. The staff is very nice and attentive but the property could use some TLC and some design. There is barely any light in the room so request for a lamp. The AC only works during set hours of the night so good luck during a hot day. The towel situation is a bit concerning. I had to buy towels from outside as the ones from the property were crappy. The location is very good and that was super important. The food at Locco restaurant was good too. With a little investment, this property could be a hit.
