Staff were nice, location is great. Room was a bit cold even though heater was on. bathroom was very clean, I like the shower, the bed wasn't too comfortable but was clean. overall I enjoyed the experience. there was some noise in the building but it didn't really bother me since I was tired and fell asleep quickly. For one or two nights it's ok. Just a very simple hotel.

Appalling. DO NOT STAY here. Cashing in on ANuga bedrooms are disgusting dirty blood on walls. No lift. No apology. Booked 2 double rooms and were given 2 single rooms. Waiting for a response from manager but nothing. Threadbare carpets. Toilet in the shower. No space to swing a cat. Disgusting.

Reasonable price for the central location. Towels changed every day and housekeeping kept room in good order and topped us up. Helpful and friendly staff. Issue with shower was quickly resolved. Plenty of places to eat within a very short distance & supermarkets close by.

If you want a basic short term stay this hotel is ideal because it is a short walk to the Cathedral and river. Alan the duty manager was very obliging and only too eager to help. Our room was very small with nowhere to store suitcases, but it was very clean and suited our purpose. The breakfast area was immaculate and the food presentation was very good with plenty on offer. We would stay there again.

I loved staying here. Look, the rooms are old, a bit tired, but perfectly fine if you're the type of traveller like me who mainly just wants a decent bed and somewhere to shove their suitcase during the day. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The breakfast was great. You can't really ask better for location either - walking distance to almost everything, and easy public transport access.

Good stay for layover but..

The way to the hotel was not too long of a walk from Köln Hbf but since the streets are doing renovations, you have to walk around to a nearby street. Also the hotel was two annex, main one and the other one located on a map shown in the main office, look at your key room # and see which building you’re in… room was clean but whats up with the Curtains??? I feel like people can peek in and also no soundproof walls? I can hear others clearly talking and door shutting across the hallway…

The shower and bathroom door does not fit… make it a slide in door so you don’t obstruct the toilet but I bet thats because of German building code??? yeah not a great feature… also no tables and no amenities in the room (no hot water boiler, etc.)

Great thing is even if you forget to tell them ahead of time that you’ll be late for check-in (cell signal was bad for me and DB always ruining plans), they will put your keys in a lockbox outside and the code is sent to you separately before arriving… really nice! also if you need to leave the hotel early morning too that day before the main office opens, just put the keys back in the lockbox and reset number and your good to go

Well you get what you pay for! The location is excellent. 10 minutes to the cathedral, 10 minutes to all of the Christmas markets and all of the best activities. However the room itself was extremely small, the mattress was not comfortable, the hair dryer did not work properly, the toilet moves when you sit on it, the shower has mold in it, and the room smells when you turn on the heater (not that we needed it even though it was 30 degrees Fahrenheit out. The room gets hot.) The only good thing about this hotel is the location and the staff is nice.

Staff was attentive, and the continental breakfast was beautiful. My only gripe was no USB charging in the room, and I did not have a German plug adapter. Very efficient, no lift, and about a ten minute walk from the train station.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE MISTAKE

This without doubt is my worst experience in a 'hotel'.
We paid premium rates during a tradeshow week in Cologne. In excess of £5000 for two romms for 6 nights.
The room was tiny 6' x 12'. No cupboards. No drawers, decor was unsightly.
For 4 days out of the six I had no hot water in the mornings. My complaints were ignored. Breakfast was eggs by the slice, sausage and some sort of vegetable. Cold buffet if you wanted. Service was sullen if not down right ignorent or not at all. Cannot gain access to the front of the propert after 10pm. My colleague who arrived late had to pick up a key from a key lock and go around (in the dark) to find the night entrance in a creepy lane.
The only thing in it's favour was it's location. At least you could escape to some central restaurants or bars, if you were back by 10pm that is.

It’s an ideal base for a short break, less than 15 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof and Cathedral, s minutes from shops, restaurants cafes and bars. Nothing fancy, but the price was very reasonable. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

A very basic room for a good price in the centre of Cologne city. The room was cheap so you get what you pay for. No reception from 10pm so if you lose your key card or it doesnt work then you are stuck. Shower was good but the sink plug did not work for the basin. It was stuck in the sink so it could not drain. Room was nice and quiet.

When i explained at the reception guy that i am in hurry and dont have time to take breakfast i asked if possible to take a sandwich for take away and he told me no.
Then i needed to leave my luggage for couple of hours in the hotel after check in and the answer was no. The guy was acting very weird, singing in the reception. I wont go back there.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location. The hotel is very outdated. There is no elevator. The first day of my stay there was no hot water. When I asked the staff about the hot water they said it was a problem in the whole hotel. The curtains were very dusty in the room and everything was run down. The breakfast was good. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Hotel was OK for the price, BUT... The customer service was pathetic. I informed the hotel about late arrival when i booked it, therefore, they were supposed to give me a key box code where the room key was kept, so I could get access to my room as the front desk is closed from 10pm. However, after contacting them numerous times, they never responded to me right till i had to board the plane. They only replied to me when i was on a plane so there was no way for me to know if they'd left the key in the box untill i finally landed. I was on the process of booking another hotel when i got the key box code. Very disappointed. I never received any appology for the stress they caused. This was my second stay and the last one.

Good location with parking at a nearby multi-storey. Service was a bit brusque and they didn’t know about the rules regarding disabled parking (wrong info given). Not directed to the lift despite being on crutches. Room was fine but there’s some exposed works on the way up which aren’t safe. No smoke alarm visible. Breakfast was good.

I didn't like anything about it once I arrived to it. It was so dirty, small, and malodorous, that I didn't actually stay there. I left immediately after asking for a refund, which I was denied. Before I left, I had also called Expedia costumer service to let them know why I was not staying there after all. I trusted Expedia's judgment on a good quality hotel, but I was very disappointed as I had been presented with a clean and decent hotel on Expedia's web page but in reality that place is a dirty motel.

Filthy room and hotel in need of refurbishment

The first room given was dirty and in a poor state. Both the inside and outside of the furniture were dirty. In one of the drawers we found someone’s nail. The lampshade and armchair were all stained. The sides of the bathroom door needs replacement. There was a bad smell coming from the bathroom and there was an opening underneath the shower cubicle. Furthermore the extractor fan didn’t work and the shower was fixed with tape. Also the fitted carpet was not clean. Moreover we also noticed insects inside the hotel.
