This was a wonderful stay and a wonderful hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and there was a tiny balcony overlooking a lovely courtyard cafe. The location also very convenient to the Hauptbahnhof and good restaurants and bakeries without feeling too busy or crowded.

And the service was exceptional. I had to arrive very late, as in the next morning, and the staff not only arranged a special self-checkin to prevent my reservation's being canceled, they remembered when I checked out and asked how everything had went.

Generally good and clean. A few things makes me lower the rating
1. A little out maintenance - one room the AC controller was broken, the other room is missing fridge and they refuse the change room.
2. Even \"do not disturbed\" was put out, the cleaning lady still get in the room, this is a big no-no
3. During the 3-stay, there was a wedding post party from 1 am - 3 am with annoying bass that disturbed our rest. 4 out of 5 people in our group were badly affected by that.

The property has the potential to be much better, seems management problem to me. Friendly does not help the bad property management problems.

Great hotel very close to Koln Hbf and the city centre.

Our room overlooked a quiet courtyard and was a family room with two separate bedrooms (a very welcome change from the usual double bed and sofa bed in one room that is available at many other hotels).

The buffet breakfast had a great selection and the standalone restaurant in the hotel building looked very good although we didn't eat there.

We visited this hotel for 2 nights in December for a Christmas markets trip with our 2 young children. It is a 10 minute walk from the central station and cathedral and the area is very quiet.
We had an early flight and arrived at the hotel very early for check in. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready earlier than the check in time, but the member of staff that we spoke to was so friendly and helpful, giving us tips on where we could go locally. We were able to store our bags for free in the lockers provided.

We were really impressed with the room set up. We had a main bedroom and then a separate lounge area. One of the TVs wasn't working unfortunately, but the one that was working had all the apps available for us to use. The hotel provided 2 cot beds for our children, which they found very comfortable. There wasn't any towels in the room when we first arrived, but this was immediately rectified when we asked.

We had breakfast included in our stay. The quality and range of things available was great, we all really enjoyed it. One of the members of staff brought over a box of toys for our daughter, which she absolutely loved.

Overall a very pleasant stay.

Wonderful hotel stay

Wonderful, compact, quiet, clean room. Nicely located about 10 min walk from central station. Some good food options surrounding the hotel. The climb into the shower was a little intense, but water pressure made it worth it. Front desk service was really excellent. The lobby smells amazing too, they have a signature scent. I would recommend a stay here and would stay here again if I was in the area.

The hotel was stylish, the room small but well appointed, and the breakfasts excellent, with fresh fruit and good coffee. BUT in our three day stay our room was not cleaned once; our bed was not made nor did we have clean towels. For a hotel of this quality and price, that was not acceptable. The manager tried to excuse it by saying that someone had requested that the room not be cleaned, but that certainly wasn't us. sadly that was my lasting impression.

Cozy hotel and area, huge rooms!

The hotel was very cozy and the location, too! The rooms are way bigger than most hotels and this price range. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s close to the main station and a few more minutes to the musical theater, cathedral and old town of Cologne. The neighborhood is very quiet, and despite there being construction in front of our room, you barely even notice the sounds from it. Lots of places to eat around the hotel and lots of grocery stores nearby, too.

The location was good and convenient to attractions. Unfortunately, some construction outside the hotel which was somewhat loud at times and affected the parking. Parking was available but must check in first for the parking card access. We did have a handful of small issues with the room ( bathroom door handle fell off, lime scale in coffee marker, no towels, tissue holder falling off, AC not working) that we addressed with the management and they were taken care of in a timely manner. Large room for European standards.

Best hotel we stayed at on our trip to cologne and cochem, The bed was so comfortable, pillows good and such a pretty inviting room. We had a bathtub which filled very quickly. Hotel close to the cologne main train station. Hotel staff very friendly.
Loved this hotel.
Next time in cologne, we are staying here.

We enjoyed our stay at Classik Hotel Antonius. The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. The hotel is away from the Altstadt where I think most tourists would prefer to be but it is quite walkable. Generally the area around the hotel is quiet but there is only a short walk to lively areas.
Whilst we were staying (Sep. 2022) the hotel was having some building work done. This meant regular breakfasts weren't available but the hotel was able to provide a satisfactory 'pack up'.

The hotel was very clean and beds comfortable however the staff are quite hit and miss and not very knowledgeable about the local area.
A few of the lightbulbs in the bedroom were not working which I asked to be replaced but didn’t happen.
The shower is in the bath so exiting is not great if you are either small or unsteady on your feet as there are no grab rails and the floor is quite slippery when wet

Unhappy stay.

The receptionist was helpful at all times, directing me to my room, hailing a taxi on two occasions. But when I asked for an invoice. I was told I had to get that myself! Not happy about that. I also see now that there was a tax refund if I was travelling on business. This is correct, but no tax refund was offered by the hotel. The room was not serviced once during my 3-day stay. I ran out of tea-bags, and found the tea / coffee station near reception to be out of both varieties of black tea. I was only provided with bush tea in my room on my first day. I drink tea mostly. Bush tea is a poor substitute for black tea. No mat beside the bed, only one in the sitting room. I dragged that one to my bedside. I was asked for a late check out as I had a late flight and was allowed to stay till 13H00. Not happy about that. Nevertheless, the 2 hours extra was appreciated. Several times the house-keeping entered my room without knocking. No food was offered at the hotel. There was a fridge and stove in the room, but no cutlery, plates or cleaning materials. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and for the price, very disappointing.

The room was clean and comfortable. There is no air conditioning which was not a problem for me but might be a problem for some people. The buffet breakfast, which cost 13 euros, was excellent. It had everything including smoked salmon. There is plaza about three blocks from the hotel - Ebertplatz - with some very good restaurants, mostly Italian. There is also an underground station there.

Beautiful hotel, nice service, good breakfast, but no A/C ! Under amenities, a/c is listed. With absolutely no air circulation even with the windows and curtains open, at least in room 306 which looks exactly like the room in the picture, it was a very uncomfortable night. Also only one pillow! Should've looked at the picture more closely but it was a first in any hotel I've ever stayed in. An interesting place to cut back! I would not recommend staying in this hotel if the outside temperature is going to be over 70. A fan would've made all the difference. And otherwise, with it's excellent location and beautiful garden, I would've stayed another night as I had planned.
By the way, there was a small dial on the wall, which I adjusted but it made no difference and there were no vents in the room.

Stylish, Comfortable Hotel Near Train

This hotel was perfect for our stay! The hotel is located a pleasant 5 minute walk from the main train station, on a fairly quiet street. The hotel itself was stylishly decorated, the courtyard beautiful (though the weather prevented us from enjoying it this trip), the staff friendly, and the restaurant was remarkably good (we had an excellent dinner one night, fabulous desserts another, and good complimentary breakfasts both days, and the waitress was very friendly and kind). We had only booked a room for 2, but ended up bringing our 7-year-old daughter, and the staff was able to make comfortable accommodations for her for just a small upcharge. The room was large and modern with comfortable bed(s), a table/work area, and it was also equipped with a refrigerator and sink area, which was unusual but welcome. The lighting was a little odd, but that was just a small detail and overall just fine. I hope to return to the Hopper in warmer months so that we can enjoy the courtyard!

Loved the Hopper!!

We had a junior suite and it was quite large. There were two separate rooms, one with a bed and one with a fold-down sleeping couch. We had two TV's, a nicely stocked refrigerator, and even a stove in case we wanted to cook. A nice coffeemaker would've been a perfect addition. At first, the beds seemed like they were too hard, but they were great for sleeping. Large windows in each room provided great views and just enough cooling at night. There's no air conditioning, so we were thankful for moderate temperatures during our stay in Cologne. Breakfast was wonderful, and the garden area was lovely. All in all, our stay was pretty great, and we'd stay there again.

My review is based on the single room, so probably the bigger rooms are better. I was very disappointed with my choice to stay in this hotel. The room was super tiny and just very uncomfortable and impractical. The owners tried their best to make a very unique and modern boutique hotel out of this fairly old building. Some of this succeeded, but the net result for me is that the room I had was very uncomfortable and extremely unpractical. the desk is so small that when your laptop is on it there is no space for anything else. there is no space to hang a towel or to place your suitcase. No heating in the room, so it was a bit chilly. No place to put your phone next to the bed while charging, etc etc. I strongly recommend you against staying in the single rooms in this hotel and hope the double rooms are better.

Nice comfortable hotel, short walk from the city.

We stayed in the junior suite for one night only - room 12 on the 3rd floor. It is set at the rear of the property overlooking the courtyard. As there is a restaurant in the building, there was slight noise at the end of the evening, but not enough to disturb sleep. The junior suite consisted of an entrance corridor leading to a large room with TV/Sofas/dining table and a small kitchen (hob and sink) hidden behind folding doors. My only disappointment for the facilities was the lack of kettle for making hot drinks.

The bedroom had very comfortable furnishings including TV and Dyson fan - the bathroom had a large walk-in shower but no bath.

All windows had Juliet balconies with tilt and turn windows.

Breakfast was very good - choice of cold meats/cheese, scrambled eggs/hot sausage, cold fish, lots of fruit, yoghurts and cereals. And plenty of options to drink. As it is served in the main restaurant there were plenty of areas to sit.

The station is approx. 10 minute walk - out of the hotel, turn left, left again and then straight on. The river is about 10 minutes walk also.

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and am glad I booked it based on reviews of other travellers.

NOT WHAT i EXPECTED

If you stay at a 4 stars hotel, paying 102 per night in Germany, you have some expectations on the hotel, but...NO reception at late night, terrible Wifi connection. I was given a room in which there wasn't even a desk (and this one was even smaller than the one i got when I asked for the the desk), the room was supposed to be 30 squared meter ( as stated in the description) but it was maximum 22-25sq.m . On the other side, the breakfast is good and they didn't want the garage to be payed, which was kind of them. Only one pillow in the room even if the room was double ( though I was alone). What I didn't expected was that to use the Sauna i should have alerted the reception one hour before and i should have payed 10 euros. The surroundings of the hotel are not the greatest in Cologne, but still for me were acceptable, no one bothered me. Lots of place to have lunch and shops supermarket around. In conclusion, I expected much more fr the price I payed, but if you keep in mind the cons, don't need a stable internet connection and the price is lower than 90e than it can be considered as an option.

Good place if you don't need wifi and hot water

I find that for less money you can get a hotel that offers the same unusable wifi and super small rooms. First of all I think there is a big difference between the room size advertised on hotels.com and the room you actually get in the hotel so that is misleading advertising from this hotel. Wifi was basically unusable. Breakfast was ok. Unlike other hotels they really respect your privacy - if you put the do not disturb sign on the door nobody will ever bother you. The biggest no no was when I wanted to take a shower at 11 AM and discovered there is no hot water but maybe they wanted their guest to have east european communist experience - who knows? To summ it up, I will not go there again simply because you don't get enough for your money and there are better price to quality ratios around.

Nice cozy hotel really well positioned!

Hopper Hotel was a great experience for both of us - our room was comfy and clean, with a nice view on the Dom from our 2 windows - it wasn't big but it was perfect for us. The morning buffet was good and the hotel is really well situated, not even 10 min walk from the central station, next to everything, in a quieter place. Take a little walk and you're already to the central station, next to the famous Dom and from there, you can go anywhere to visit the beautiful city of Cologne. Totally recommend this hotel!

Very disappointing

I am very disappointed with my stay at the hotel. The hotel advertised that internet connection was available, but I could not connect to the internet. The staff did not offer much help. I was given a really small and dingy room. Considering that the hotel was not even full, i believe that they could've given me a better room, especially given my inconvenience with the internet.

Great hotel. It is stylish, artistic, efficient and in the city centre, 5 minutes walking from the central station and the famous Cologne Dom. It has a mini bar and room safe. Cable TV but not a lot of English though. Breakfast is included and has a lot of variety. It also has a few local restaurants but you need to explore a few side streets by the Musik school. A 10 min walk straight down the road leads you to the Rhein and wonderful walks with many places to sit and eat. The restaurant in the hotel is not open for lunch or dinner on a Sunday

A lovely hotel

My daughter and I stayed one night on a trip up from Luxembourg. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are so nice. The bedroom was beautifully decorated with a modern feel. The breakfast was superb. And the location is just 5 minutes from the centre and 3 minutes from the Rhine. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to enjoy Köln. Enda.

Great boutique gem!

A boutique hotel located about 4 blocks from the main train station. The decor is modern, danish style. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent with attentive service. The breakfast buffet was excellent too. The front desk staff spoke English. It was an enjoyable stay. I would return again.

An elevator is available. Amenities are clean but a minimalist approach to room furnishings might make it difficult for some to unpack if planning a longer stay. The reception desk staff was extremely welcoming, courteous and helpful. We might look for another hotel when visiting Köln again, but would not be unhappy if we had to stay at this hotel again.

a building of great character

Good. There was only one armchair for the two of us in the room. The restaurant and bar weren't open in the evenings. The lighting wasn't well distributed in the room. Nice bathroom. Peaceful location in quiet street. Spacious room.

Excellent hotel

The Hopper Hotel St Antonius was superb. My room was really spacious (only booked a standard room, not a suite) and had a huge flat screen TV in it. There was also a speaker dock that I could charge my iPhone on.

The hotel is about 5 or 10 minutes walk from the train station and in a quiet part of Cologne.

The only trouble I had was finding a space in the breakfast room - I guess that shows how popular it is!

Gorgeous hotel, 5 minutes walk from train station and close walk to tram stop.
Breakfast had everything you could ask for.
Room was spaceous and big bathroom.
Free Wifi internet.
Would deffinitely stay there again.

Centrally located to the railway

Centrally located to the railway station which means only a 10 minute walk to the hotel from the station. Excellent breakfast included in the fare. Spotless rooms with en suite facilities. Only problem, the phone line out was not working - the line to outside was not operating from my room the whole time I was there. Other than that, a very nice hotel to stay at and would recommend to others.

A modern hotel that offers large

A modern hotel that offers large rooms (especially for European standards). The location was great, you felt you were out of the city although you were quite close to the central train station. They were flexible with an early check-in that was much appreciated after a long flight from Australia. Not too much in the way of restaurants close by, but nothing that a walk or metro ride does not fix.

We (Mother 87 years old and daughter

We (Mother 87 years old and daughter 56) stayed for two nights. The cathedral and railway station are within walking distance. (15 minutes) We appreciated the underground car park (13€ per day) opposite the hotel. Very spacious room, contemporary style with big windows. The mattrasses are relatively hard. Very quiet. Breakfast between 7 and 11! Nice breakfast buffet, though the eggs were cold.
The layout of the bathroom could have been improved in the planning:the toilet paper is situated behind you, the towel rack is inside the shower cubicle with no towel rack outside, but you can work around that.
All in all a hotel we would recommend!

なれない言葉でも、親切に対応いただいて気持ちが良い感じでした。
部屋の空調が、高すぎ低すぎの反応が少し鈍いのと、明かりが少しくらいのは、お国柄？
全般的には、安心して過ごせました。

若干、駅から少し歩くのと、近くにコンビにてきなものは見つからないですが、静かで良いところでした。

Große Zimmer. Dusche in der Badewanne war nicht so toll, da die Schutzscheibe viel zu klein ist und der Einstieg in die Wanne relativ hoch ist. Ansonsten war das Zimmer top, Bett bequem, großer Fernseher, Nespresso-Maschine (original Kapseln wären besser, die vorhandenen Kapseln waren nicht so gut.)
Frühstück war nicht gut, sehr wenig Auswahl, lange Wartezeit für Rührei, das Frühstücksbuffet war nicht ansprechend. Für eine Nacht war es top, aber für längere Zeit würde ich ein anderes Hotel wählen.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig. Das Personal sowohl am Empfang als auch beim Frühstück war immer sehr freundlich. Die Lage ist perfekt, da man nur 15 Minuten zu Fuß zum Dom braucht. Frühstück war in Ordnung, könnte aber mehr Auswahl sein für den Preis. Alles in einem aber sehr empfehlenswert :)
