Hotel was lovely from first walking in. The lady who checked us in was great when helping us with directions and travel options to get around. She also noticed it was my birthday the following day - as a surprise for when we got back in the room on my birthday, she had organised a cake and a bottle of bubbly for us to enjoy. The room was spacious and the view of the cathedral was beautiful, worth the upgrade in our opinion. The location of the hotel was perfect, with everything being within a 5/10 minute walk and public transport accessible if needed. The breakfast seemed a little expensive to us at 31€ per person to add on, so we opted out of this as there was a few cafes near by to eat at for a much lower price, so we can’t comment on the food. Overall, we loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

Location was phenomenal for Christmas markets. Trying to get a water bottle in the room was no easy task. They did have laundry service which we needed. The building had a ventilation issue in certain areas at certain times which made a gnarly sewage smell for example by the entry elevator. That should be looked into. Tiny rooms but decent finishes.

The only drawback for the hotel is that the hot water system is incredibly noisy and the room clean doesn’t include a refill of any tea, coffee or water, but you can always ask at Reception.

Overall the stay was good.

Checking in was quick having completed the online registration. We were able to leave our bags in a safe room after checking out whilst we spent the rest of the day in Cologne prior to heading to the airport.

We asked for a kettle which was delivered to our room whilst we out and we were able to get milk from the restaurant.

The duvet cover had a black mark on it but it was changed the next day as requested.

Bathroom could have been cleaner but nothing a spray down with the shower head didn’t sort out.

The bathroom had a sliding door which didn’t want to stay shut and had a habit of opening. My finger got caught trying to stop it the first time it happened so watch out for that. Whilst it didn’t bother us, the glass bathroom/main room divide didn’t allow for much privacy whilst in the shower.

The hotel was located within a 6 minute walk of the cathedral and ideally located for the main Christmas markets.

We chose this hotel because of its location and we had high expectations since it belongs to the Accor group. However, when we entered the room, the table hadn’t been dusted at all. Even though they claimed the linens were changed, they were covered in stains and hairs. We took photos and videos of everything. When we reported this, they said they would come and check immediately. The head of housekeeping arrived and literally scolded us, saying, “This room is clean, there’s nothing here. How am I supposed to know where these hairs come from?” We had two connecting rooms, and the other room’s bed was similarly dirty. Even when I said, “You can’t talk to us like this, we did nothing to deserve this attitude,” they told us, “If you want, just leave and find another hotel.” The hotel manager also refused to change our room, claiming there were no other rooms available, even though we could see plenty of availability in the system. They treated us terribly, and we absolutely do not recommend this hotel.

Hotel was adequate for a two night stay, the room was small but comfortable and clean, with soft lightening, great shower, toiletries, hairdryer, magnifying mirror, tv, black out curtains, coffee machine, safe, small fridge, not a lot of clothing storage for a long stay. Bed was comfortable with a firm mattress.
Can’t comment on breakfast/dinner in their restaurant as we ate out, with plenty of good recommendations !
Maybe ear plugs needed if cathedral bell chimes annoy you!
Checkout was 12 noon (on Sunday) which was a pleasant surprise!
Overall a nice hotel!

This hotel is in a good location that is walkable to transport and main attractions. The restaurant staff for breakfast was also very nice and accommodating. However, we got there early and the first front desk girl said the room wasn’t ready which is fine so we came back at check in time and the second front desk girl was not nice. She seemed angry and annoyed. In addition, we also found a hair in our shower floor which was easily noticeable so it made us even more uncomfortable.

Shops are 10-15 minutes walk away and restaurants literally everywhere with many options. The Rhiene is less than a 5 minute walk away and transport links are very accessible with tram, train and undergound all between 5-10 minutes away. Very convenient for a stay in Cologne. Also easy to travel to from airport (1 stop- 20 minute journey)

An excellent hotel, staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and tidy. We did find the glass partition unusual between the bathroom and bedroom, a bit odd showering and being to see in to the bedroom and vice versa, didn't bother us that much though.
We only ate breakfast at the hotel, there was plenty of choice, including continental meats, cheeses, bread olives, pickles, also bacon, sausage, egg, beans etc, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries. My wife was particularly pleased to see that both oat & soya milk were available as an alternative to cows milk.
The hotel is ideally situated, within a hundred meter radius there is Cologne cathedral, a german/roman museum, modern art gallery, the Rhine, old town square, main shopping streets, and many restaurants and bars. If you want to explore the region more, the main train station is also only a five minute walk.

We'll definitely be staying there again.

The person who checked us in didn't point us to the elevator and it wasn't immediately obvious to me, so I walked up 4 flights of stairs with all of my luggage after being exhausted from all the travel, only to realize that there was an elevator the following morning. The stairs also smell of sewage. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and public transport options nearby.
