It's not one hotel, the apartments are spread across a couple of buildings and it was not easy getting in and out. We had a studio quadruple room which was a decent size, the bathroom was tiny and the kitchen had no utensils or crockery, so could not cook.

Very walkable to shopping and the Rhine. Very convenient and felt safe. Minor drawback was that the room felt warm even with fans going and moderate temperatures outside.

Unfortunately our room faced the road with a noisy group of rugby players at the hotel across the narrow street. Given there is no air conditioning, we had to sleep with the windows open and really got no sleep. The beds were ok but not great. Pillows were awful. Nice, no-frills hotel in a great location. Rooms are fairly basic, but they are clean and functional and fine for a typical vacation stay in a place like Cologne. Only problem is that there were some ceiling tiles that need replacing. And don't expect any extra room in the bathroom.
The breakfast was good and well worth it. Hosts and managers were helpful and communicative. And the location is ideal for exploring Cologne. 15 minute walk to Cathedral, and easy access to a large pedestrian shopping area. It's on a quiet side street so noise was not a factor. 5-star rating earned.

Convenient walking location.
We stayed in a family apartment, but the layout was unusual. It was one room and felt like a converted office with 4 beds in several corners, a couch a table and 4 chairs and a mattress on the floor. Clean, but no ambiance. Lack of lighting, light fixtures not plugged in, a refrigerator that wasn’t plugged in and that smelled because if was left closed. Only 2 electrical outlets in the room and in one of the bathrooms one faucet that had no cold water and the other was scalding hot. Verty strange. We figured out how to turn the temperature down. Not really a hotel feeling, but it was clean, the beds were comfortable and it was a conveniently location to visit the Christmas market.

I was very disappointed with the breakfast. It wasn’t good. It wasn’t hot. There were no pastries. The milk tasted off and, unforgivably, their coffee was disgusting. Room was fairly new and clean enough. Two small single beds, I don’t see why they feel the need to put singles in when there’s space for two doubles, to be honest. The location was excellent for the Christmas markets and was the reason I chose this hotel.

This Hotel has two separate buildings. The ‘Boutique’ one is new and really good to stay in. Good internal entry security.

The only thing missing was a kettle or coffee machine. Otherwise this was the perfect stay. We didn’t have the breakfast that the hotel offers (€) but it did look lovely. There are many close by bakeries, cafes, shops and restaurants. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Reception was friendly and helpful. Location was great. We booked 2 rooms. One was bigger than the other. The smaller one would have have been too small for all our luggage. But the bigger one (room 321) was perfect. Elevator is a bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for a one night break on our travel by road. The hotel was adequate for our needs and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The city centre location was ideal with the magnificent Cathedral within east walking distance.Parking was in a nearby car park at extra cost (23 euros) The breakfast was better than average.

We had a very good stay. This hotel is located close to the cathedral (5-6 block walk?)) and adjacent to myriads of shopping, restaurants, etc. We had a large attic room and our biggest concern was that it was not air conditioned - since it was pretty warm most days we were in Koln the room was often very warm. Staff were polite and helpful. There is a Chinese buffet next door to the hotel that was very reasonably priced and the food/service were great.

The lady at the front desk was very nice. The room for three was spacious and clean. The hotel was 8 minute walk to the Cathedral and 18 mins walk to the Chocolate Museum. There’s a cheap asian buffet beside the hotel.
I was disappointed when the Hotel also asked for €32 for the third person’s breakfast even if we paid for a room of three pax. Hotels.com only advised to pay for the tax but Opera Hotel added a breakfast charge.
