We have only stayed in Cologne for one night. Very glad have booked this hotel. Nice location and a christmas market is just right in front of the hotel, and we enjoy very much the festive vibes. Simply catch the Christmas market trains outside the hotel entrance made our trip so easy to travel around the city. The guest room is clean but relatively small. However I understand in this prime location I cannot expect more.

We had our do not disturb sign on the door and the housekeepers barged in when I had just gotten out of the shower and was completely naked, exposing me to the outer hallway too. Best the hotel would give us was a “free coffee”, which they did give us in the end but felt a bit insulting. Accidents happen but the whole thing just felt poorly handled and like we were being gaslit. The receptionist at the end was more understanding but overall, was a very odd experience that I’d never had happen.

Rooms are super tiny and beds aren’t very comfortable. Very unlikely we’d stay here again.

Lovely clean room - we had a great view of the cathedral from our room which was lovely. Service was exceptional - Daniel at the front desk upgraded our room and he was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. Location is very central and local to a lot of bars and pubs, plus the cathedral and train station. Great sound proofing of our room - it was a noisy friday night on the street below but when we shut our windows, couldn’t hear anything. Overall great stay.

I picked this hotel because of its location. 10mins walk from Cologne main station and a few minutes from Cologne Cathedral. The room was perfect for one person and soundproofing was fantastic so I had no problem sleeping. Highly recommended.

Alter Markt is a happening place. Great location for food, nightlife and shopping. At arrival my room AC was broken and they did not have another room for me until the next day. The room is quite small and the bed is quite hard. They do have new double pain windows so the street noise is very minimal. For the rate they charged me (during Gamescom) I would have expected more. But overall it is fine and even very good if the rate is $200-$300 a night but not worth the $500 a night I was paying

This hotel is definitely the heart of the social area so noise is a problem late at night into the early morning. Homessless sleeping and yelling outside, and with no AC - choice leave window open to stay cooler and hear the noise or shut the window and sleep in a sweat box.

Overall, we were disappointed with our stay. Our room was fairly large with a king bed and good-sized shower. The hotel is modern and aesthetically pleasing. The location is very convenient as it's close to the Cologne Hbf central train station (10-minute walk with luggage), the main attractions of the Cologne Cathedral, Rhein River (8-minute walk), and Alter Markt square, as well as shopping and restaurants. The Cons: the most disappointing portions of our stay was with the air conditioner in our room, noise, and staff. As temperatures averaged in the high 70's (26 Celsius), we found that our room was very uncomfortable from the heat. To our dismay, we could not adjust the thermostat to cool the room. I reported the issue to the nighttime staff however, she just blew me off stating that the temperature was set to 19 Celsius and could not be adjusted. She did not offer to investigate the matter or offer and different room. Our only saving grace was that we could open the windows. The area was very noisy during the evenings into the early morning hours from the \"revellers\" who were drinking at the various pubs and restaurants as well as from motor vehicles. In all, this made for some rough nights of sleep. Our experience with the staff was not that great. Some of the daytime staff were relatively friendly however, the nighttime staff person was not friendly at all and wore it on her face. Should we pay a return visit to Cologne, we will not consider this hotel.

Not our first time in this hotel and won't be our last! Room 502 was lovely and spacious. Extremely warm at night and could mot adjust the aircon but this didn't take away from our lovely stay. Can't recommend enough as a central base to explore Köln.

I stayed here around Christmas time. The Christmas market is right outside the hotel! I couldn’t have picked a better location. Close to the Cathedral and train station. Walking distance to main attractions. Staff were nice and helpful. The cafe at the main lobby was nice as well, breakfast was great. I highly recommend.
