Staff was really unkind to my neice, I thought it was ok, just not as friendly as I am used to, which is fine. The issues were with the room, gorgeous room BUT the shower was leaking, the hair dryer worked for a bit then died THEN the sewage smell was absolutely terrible, wifi was off and on, no lifejackets for kids for pool, not very kid friendly in general

I wish to make known my complete dissatisfaction at this booking.
I booked a room with Twin beds and private bathroom for 2 work colleagues going to a Trade show.
The room was completely unsuitable for this situation at a cost of two thousand euro!
Clearly when twin beds were booked it was not a couple! The beds could not be separated by the guests and the shower was located in the main room with absolutely NO privacy.
Despite reception staff trying to be helpful the hotel was booked and a change of room was not possible but this should never have happened in the first place. Serious attention to detail required going forward. Very disappointed.

There was this customer service officer.
His attitude was terrible.
Asked about possibility of having room side by side he said not possible in a loud tone.
When asked about estimated time to leave hotel for airport, he answered it depends on how many gates and traffic condition, so he cannot tell me anything.
First time encountering such customer service. Perhaps he is in bad mood, or dislike talking to a chinese or whatever. Rudest hotel staff I have ever met.

Lovely large rooms - we booked 2 superior rooms which were allocated on the top floor - just the 2 rooms so was like a suite.
Location was good - quiet but near to everything.
The hotel operates an online check in and your key is on your phone, so little interaction with staff but everyone we saw was friendly.

This is a good property, it’s very well situated to visit the main sights of cologne. The hotel condition and amenities are good, but a few things bring down the rating. They only clean the rooms every 3 days. Basically, my room was never cleaned during my 2 night stay. The staff, with the exception of the lady who helped me check out, lack friendliness. They were not rude or anything, just very brief in their communication without any warmth or hospitality.
These are areas they should work on.
Overall this is a perfectly adequate hotel for a few days in cologne.

The room was spacious and clean and the amenities were on par with expectations with the exception of tea making facilities as listed on Expedia - there was a coffee pod machine but no tea bags or a spoon for stirring in sugar. Also the breakfast buffet was expensive at $27 Euro - I only want some cereal and toast so was not prepared to pay that. The hotel staff was helpful if approached but not readily available otherwise. I have never been asked to pay a fee for luggage storage so was surprised there was a charge for this even though I didn’t need to use the service on this visit. I booked this hotel as it mentioned daily room housekeeping but was not aware until I left that this was something only done if you make a special request. This hotel seemed to be transitioning to an online service portal for checkin and all other services and I got the feeling that the staff were not all that comfortable with the system yet. Overall, a good clean hotel in a great location.

Loved staying at this little place on my quick trip to Cologne. It was perfect for me for one night while I explored the local Christmas Markets. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Not too bad of a walk to get to the subway to transfer to the Main train station. Would definitely stay here again if I return to the city!

Very comfortable stay in a deluxe double that had plenty of room for us. Room well let and whole hotel very clean, though housekeeping tended to start a bit early for us. The bar / lounge area is nice and had a good atmosphere, a comfy space to be in. Able to leave luggage on our last day so we could get the most from our time. Happy with our booking.

The location of the hotel is very convenient for all the Christmas markets we wanted to visit. All within walking distances, and there are many good restaurants nearby. The hotel room is modern and nice. Service was excellent. Parking was extra Euro22. The only thing is that the church bell nearby can be heard loudly even at 7am. Also, the shower drain cap should be closeable as the drain has a bad smell. Overall, it was a great stay!

The hotel is beautiful inside and out. Our room was a nice size, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was large, and the shower had plenty of hot water and great water pressure. There was also a coffee maker in the room with coffee and espresso provided for it. In the lobby, we were allowed to fill our water bottles for free. The room was clean. Reception staff were friendly too.

I recently stayed at your hotel in Cologne, which is reputed to be a premium accommodation option in the heart of the city. Expecting a comfortable and hassle-free experience, especially given the high cost of the stay, I was profoundly disappointed by several critical issues, most notably the absence of hot water on my last day. This was not just an inconvenience but a significant oversight, as it directly impacted my comfort and readiness for a long-haul flight to Toronto.

The lack of a basic amenity like hot water, especially in a leading hotel situated in a developed and bustling city center, is unacceptable. It suggests a severe lapse in the hotel’s maintenance and contingency planning for essential services. Additionally, the situation was exacerbated by what I perceived as a lack of empathy and effective response from the customer service team, leaving me feeling disregarded and undervalued as a guest.

Such experiences not only tarnish the reputation of your establishment but also discourage loyal customers from considering your hotel for future stays. It is distressing to see that despite the high costs associated with staying at your hotel, the basic expectations of comfort and service are not met.

I am compelled to share my experience with others, highlighting the need for significant improvements in both infrastructure and customer service at your hotel. I hope my feedback will be taken seriously and prompt the necessary actions to prevent such incidents.

Very comfortable and clean and staff very welcoming and helpful. This is now a default place to stay when visiting family (including newly born grandson!) in Cologne.

The room had black marks on the wall and had slanting walls which i banged my head hard against. The hotel wasn’t in the best condition and was quite far out of the city. Shower was in the room no privacy if staying with a friend. No water, but they were selling water at the hotel for 4euros!

Conviently located hotel very near the Rhine, an easy walk from the Heumarkt U bahn stop which is a short ride from the Hauptbahnhof the ride is included in your rail ticket if you have arrived at Hbf via Train.
The breakfast was good with a wide range of good quality items and good coffee.
Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The property is located in a walkable tourist area near major attractions (e.g., museums and historical landmarks) and is well-priced compared to competing hotels. The hotel was on very good condition. I would definitely give it a 4 star. My wing seemed more updated, but the rooms in both were very nice. For one person, it is great. For two, make sure you know the person since the bathroom is wide open with glass walls (and curtain if you see it). People were very nice. I would stay here again.

Avoid this place. Terrible experience. I have no clue why it is rated as it is. I stay in a hotel most weeks for business but this one just topped my list for places never to stay again.
The Receptionist was probably the rudest person I have ever met with an attitude that was just horrible. I hadnt even checked in and everything was an issue.

The pool area was so dirty that I felt I needed a couple of showers after the Leisure centre. Disgusting !

Receptionists attitude on check in - Making me pay up front and then with a terrible attitude when I asked to see a bill before I paid for parking, tax and room rate . When is it not OK to ask to see a bill first!! shake your head all you want sir !

Breakfast was limited and the hot food was cold ! ! Even the pancakes for my kids were on cold plate!

The room when we checked in was freezing as it was -1 outside and housekeeping seemed to have left the window open

Shower gel in the shower was just water...

Pillow were just made up of air with nothing inside and nothing to sleep on.

I'm just shocked that this place has any customers at all with customer service an all time low for me.

All very clean and nice. TV remote was the only gripe.. it was filthy from years of use. Breakfast was nice. Location is fantastic, down a quiet little road, but close enough to Christmas markets, museum and rail links. Staff were very nice and accomodsting. Pool is a bit chilly, but I suspect the heat has been turned down during this energy crisis. We would stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel previously so decided to come back as I had a good experience previously and it’s a great location for the Christmas markets. I came with my mother and we booked 2 economy single rooms. The photos are deceptive. Both rooms were very small with a small single bed. The ‘living area’ was a chair under a desk with no space to even sit away from the desk. Considering we paid £100per night each, I was disappointed with these rooms. I had previously stayed in a single room which had a double bed and more space. We also wanted the pool which is nice however it was so cold we didn’t stay very long. The sauna was also out of order which was a shame as we wanted the pool and sauna which is why we chose this hotel. We decided not to have our rooms cleaned each day to help with the environment, so we had asked for more coffee pods at reception, you’d think we’d asked for gold bars! Some of the staff were lovely, some of the staff were very moody and unhelpful. The hotel was clean and the showers in the rooms were lovely. I just feel for the price, to have 2 tiny single rooms with no space, and sauna out of order, is not quite value for money. We would probably look to stay elsewhere next time as you can get double rooms for the same price.

Variety of rooms on offer. I chose an economy single room, which was all I needed. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. If you don't want fresh towels each day (to save resources), the hotel offers a voucher for a free drink instead. Great idea. Even the economy room has a decent coffee machine, which I hadn't expected. There is a swimming pool and gym for guest use which was quiet, and towels are provided. I found the hotel to be quiet and wasn't disturbed by other guests. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. The staff are friendly and efficient. This hotel is in a good area, close to many restaurants and museums and within a stone's throw of the Rhine. If travelling to Koln in the future, I will choose to stay at The Lyskirchen.
