My cousin and I stayed here for two nights. We loved the location (right next to a tram station) and it was very central in terms of walking to the main shopping area, the cathedral and to the river/museum. We felt safe.

Room was comfortable and clean. There was a bit of a musky smell though. We also didn't have any shampoo in the room and had to ask for some, but other than that, the room was great.

We'd definitely stay here again and would totally recommend it to other. Staff was also very professional and friendly.

I booked for myself and my teen. I booked him as a teen but the hotel booked him as a child. There was a very rude lady at breakfast who shouted at me because my son is 14 and not under 12. I was supposed to have free breakfast include for both of us as part of my package. I was charged 24 Euros for my teen who didn’t actually eat anything, and was embarrassed while I was trying to eat my food.

A lot of more central hotels were described as 'noisy' and this one wasn't, although it is on two main roads and a tram station
We walked from the main train station which took 30-40mins (and you could get public transport, it was reliable when we used it) but you walk through the centre with all the bars and the cathedral

Hotel was clean and easy to find, with a convenient onsite parking garage. Check-in was smooth even late at night. Our room was very spacious with a balcony, good amenities, and even a small cooking area with a hot plate and sink. Location was excellent—just a short walk to the Cologne Cathedral, shopping, and plenty of restaurants.

The hotel had several issues. From bleach stained carpets to mouldy grout in the showers, holes in the ceiling all over the restaurant areas and reception… it left a lot to be desired. Breakfast facilities were good however, and the beds themselves were clean and comfortable.

The in room Tea and coffee facilities are poor, with cheap instant coffee and a kettle.

Excellent hotel . Reception staff very friendly and sorted all our small issues quickly and efficiently. Lift stop in front of reception so easy to carry suitcases etc .Room very clean and comfortable. No noise from street .Very close to places of interest River Rhine cathedrals and buses and ferry. Shops and places to eat on same street just outside hotel so very convenient. Did not have breakfast in hotel as a bit expensive.

The staff are lovely and helpful, they printed out conference papers for me and were always very efficient. Breakfast is a huge spread and worth it. Walk down Severinstraße to the Severinstorburg and you'll find a market, lots of cafes, restaurants and more. Also don't miss the Katzentempel cafe if you are a cat fan.

The most uncomfortable beds, you get 2 tiny blankets and the oldest pillows. The gym is a joke, the walls are so thin and the gap in the door allows for so much noise to pierce through. I feel like i was catfished. Do not stay here, there are other hotels at better prices. You don't get any toiletries, they don't even have body soap in the shower which also had mold in it. You don't get water so you have to pay at the bar IF they bother to help you. A few times i went to the front desk and no one was to be found. Elevator was broken forcing people to wait for just the 1 or take the stairs. Area is meh, at least you're close to the metro. The laundry was expensive and they didn't even offer it the day we needed it. (Day before Christmas eve)

Room was comfortable, warm and clean. Didn’t have the breakfast as we wanted to try various brunch places. Staff were very helpful except on the day we had to check out. There was a queue of at least 10 guests at the reception desk and when I asked if anyone else could help at the desk there was an unclear answer and no one came out from the office to help. We waited for nearly 30 minutes to check out! Very disappointing as other times staff were great.

Great location for family Christmas market break

We had a lovely family break for the Christmas markets and stayed at the Mercure Hotel. We had a suite which made life with our little one much easier as she slept in a cot in the living area. The room was well equipped as was the bathroom. Staff were very friendly and were able to assist us with anything we needed. Great location for visiting the Christmas markets, would definitely recommend.
We didn't eat any meals at the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant or other facilities.

I wanted to like this hotel as the location was convenient and the room sizes were good, however upon entering the hotel lobby, there was a very strong odor, which seemed to continue throughout the property. Additionally the room was in need of maintenance. The curtains were stained, the ceiling had signs of water damage and the bathroom needed some attention.

1st Class hotel with 1st class staff, the hotel was in a good location, close to shops and attractions, Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Supermarket is close by, aswell as plenty of eating places, Rooms were clean and comfortable with tea & coffee making facilities, there was also a fridge and a safe in the room. The location of this property is very convenient to Koln City Centre and Kind und Jugend

However if you are checking in outside standard hours you could spend a great deal of time ringing the \"night buzzer\" so please be aware

The conditions of the rooms were a bit shocking for a Accur hotel to be blunt

When we checked in the pillow had actual dirt on it. Its hard to envision how the staff missed it. It was replaced with two throw style pillows which were even filthier.

The manager the next morning remedied the situation but one questions how this would happen.

The curtains were filthy with black marks and it seems they simply don't do regular maintenance.

Missed information from Accor staff about rewarding points. Back-and-forth emails without a clear explanation of why I am not receiving my reward points. Accor has shown its racial discrimination against LGBTQIA . Never knew I will be experiencing racism from such an organisation linked to the upcoming Olympics. Leaking everywhere in the bathroom when you bathed. Funny smile from the bathroom and failing to provide adequate amenities. This hotel is not 3-star but rather 2-star.

The check in was very cumbersome, requiring guests to repeat reservation information and sign in. Then they had to stand in another light to actually check in. Rooms were comfortable. However after checking out and paying parking fee, we could not leave and the machine required us to add an addition 2 Euros to leave, although I had paid for parking just 10 minutes earlier, going directly to the car. Definitely some logistics issues.

We visited Cologne in Christmas time to see the Cathedral
and Three Wise Men. The hotel was empty and perfect, but
the reception was VERY unfriendly. The garage was OK,
but it was a PUBLIC garage, so I think it might me be
busy. It is a walking distance to the cathedral, but a little
empty near the hotel. I guess it is is safe, but a little uncomfortable.

Only one member of staff on reception due to covid shortage of staff all round room not servived . Reception large enough for more staff .long cue , feel hotel using covid as a way to cut staff who are over worked ,hotel saving money but not passing on savings to paying customers for poor service.

Rooms were a good size, comfortable and very clean. I didn't utilize a lot of the amenities but I know there are lots available.
My only concern involving the room was the bathtub in my room. It had high sides and seemed to be raised above the bathroom floor. I am in my 40s and I found it tricky to get in and out safely. Somebody with mobility challenges might find this a problem. This is not a criticism - but might be helpful info for some.
Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and professional.
The main draw for me was the location. I was attending a trade fair at the Koelnmesse. There is a train stop literally outside the hotel. It's a very quick two-stop ride to the trade fair. Extremely convenient.
I also love the neighborhood the hotel is located in. Lots of shops and restaurants on a very pedestrian friendly street.
Overall highly recommended.

We had a warm welcome and stay. Our suite was spacious enough for our small children and it accommodated all of our needs nicely. My parents were placed in a room next door and they loved they were satisfied as well. You wouldn’t be able to tell we were next to the train station with how quiet it was in the room. Terrible We were left on the street, at 4 am, outside of the hotel, in a cold, without access to our own rooms!! When I came in around 4 am on a Saturday night (sunday morning) there was another guest standing outside as well. He had been waiting for a while already. The main door was locked, no one at the reception desk. We rang and rang.. and rang some more. Knocked on the door the old fashion way. Nothing worked. After an eternity , we were finally rescued by another guess inside the hotel who opened the door for us. Really???? What kind of hospitality is this...Terrible experience!!!! The next day, I asked to speak to a manager to relay the problem. The front desk attendant told me that one was available to talk to me, adding insult to injury. I seriously hope that someone hire up the foodchain reads this message. It looks like the staff at this Mercury Hotel is in some well needed training!
